  • the present invention relates to a cosmetic composition containing spider silk protein, and more specifically, to a cosmetic composition containing spider silk protein as an active ingredient, which has whitening, wrinkle improvement, moisturizing and antioxidant effects.
  • Spider silk protein Since it was recently discovered that the physical properties of spider silk protein obtained from nature are very excellent in terms of hardness and elasticity, research is being actively conducted to use it as an industrial material. Spider silk protein is physically excellent with high tensile strength and elasticity, and has high biocompatibility and biodegradability. In addition, it has better physical properties and biodegradability than silkworm silk, so it can be applied to all products using existing silkworm silk.
  • spider silk proteins are produced in E. coli, yeast, plant cells, animal cells, transgenic animals, etc.
  • spider silk proteins are produced in E. coli, yeast, plant cells, animal cells, transgenic animals, etc.
  • Various attempts are being made to mass produce.
  • research related to spider silk proteins has recently reported some outstanding research results, mainly due to intensive research and investment since the 2000s.
  • Dragline spider silk which is used as a spider's lifeline and used to create a radial spider web, has great strength and elasticity. Spider silk has five times the strength per unit mass of steel and three times stronger than high-quality man-made Kepler fibers (Gosline, J. M. et al., J. Exp. Biol., 202:3295, 1999; Vollrath, F . & Knight, D. P., Nature 410: 541, 2001). In addition, it has biodegradable properties, so it can be applied to biomedical fields such as sutures and scaffolds. It has an anti-inflammatory function, so it can be applied as an antibacterial material. It has excellent moisturizing properties, so it can be used as a variety of cosmetic materials. Therefore, dragline spider silk has received much attention as a material with various industrial applications.
  • Dragline silk protein synthesized in E. coli has a molecular weight of 163kDa (Fahnestock S.R. & Irwin S.L., Appl. Microbiol. Biotechnol., 47:23, 1997) and 284.9kDa (KR 10-1317420, Xia, Xiao-Xia, et al. Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Vo.107(32), pp.
