Description
本発明は、硫化水素の精製方法、硫化リチウムの製造方法、硫化水素精製装置および硫化リチウム製造装置に関する。
硫化リチウム(Li2S)は、例えばリチウム二次電池の固体電解質等として利用されている。硫化リチウムの製造方法としては、例えば、ディスクドライヤーにおいて、リチウム原料である水酸化リチウム等と硫化水素とを反応させる製造方法(例えば、特許文献1参照)等が知られている。
リチウム原料と硫化水素ガスとの硫化反応は、例えば、下記式(1)~(3)で表すことができる。

一方、硫化水素を元素硫黄として回収する硫黄回収には、クラウス法がよく知られている。クラウス法は、硫化水素を反応炉で空気により部分燃焼させ、硫化水素2容量に対し1容量の二酸化硫黄を含む混合ガスを生成させ、天然ボーキサイト、活性アルミナ、二酸化チタン等の触媒を充填した触媒床にこの混合ガスを通し、蒸気状の元素硫黄を生成し、さらに冷却操作により蒸気状の硫黄を溶融硫黄として回収するものである。
前記反応炉と触媒床の反応は、下記式(i)および(ii)で表すことができる。

しかしながら、前記式(1)~(3)で表される硫化反応において、この硫化反応に関与せず残存した未反応のH2Sをクラウス法によって硫黄回収しようとすると、前記式(ii)で表される反応に寄与するクラウス触媒が被毒してしまうという問題点がある。
このクラウス触媒の被毒は、本発明者らが検討したところ、未反応のH2Sに含まれるリチウム原料が原因であることが判明した。例えば、前記特許文献1に開示された技術において、リチウム原料は、反応の効率性等の観点からその粒径を0.1mm以上1.5mm以下に調整しているが、このような微粉末の粒子はディスクドライヤー中で未反応のH2S中に拡散しやすく、結果として未反応のH2S中に微粉末のリチウム原料が混入してしまう。
さらに、微粉末のリチウム原料と水分とが共存すると、金属配管等を腐食するという別の問題点もある。
したがって本発明の目的は、硫化水素とリチウム原料との反応により硫化リチウムを製造する過程で生じる、未反応の硫化水素を用いて硫黄回収を行うにあたり、クラウス触媒の被毒を抑制するとともに、金属配管の腐食も防止可能な、硫化水素の精製方法を提供することにある。
本発明は以下の通りである。
(1)硫化水素とリチウム原料との反応により硫化リチウムを製造する過程で生じる、未反応の硫化水素およびリチウム原料を含有する混合ガスから、サイクロンを用いて前記リチウム原料を除去する、硫化水素の精製方法。

また、本発明の一態様は、下記(2)~(4)に記載の硫化水素の精製方法および硫化リチウムの製造方法の形態も提供する。
(2)前記リチウム原料が除去された前記混合ガス中の水分が10質量%以下である、前記(1)に記載の硫化水素の精製方法。
(3)前記(1)または(2)に記載の硫化水素の精製方法によって得られた硫化水素を含む硫化水素を、リチウム原料と反応させ硫化リチウムを製造する、硫化リチウムの製造方法。
(4)前記(1)または(2)に記載された硫化水素の精製方法によって精製されたリチウム原料を含むリチウム原料を、硫化水素と反応させ硫化リチウムを製造する、硫化リチウムの製造方法。
(2)前記リチウム原料が除去された前記混合ガス中の水分が10質量%以下である、前記(1)に記載の硫化水素の精製方法。
(3)前記(1)または(2)に記載の硫化水素の精製方法によって得られた硫化水素を含む硫化水素を、リチウム原料と反応させ硫化リチウムを製造する、硫化リチウムの製造方法。
(4)前記(1)または(2)に記載された硫化水素の精製方法によって精製されたリチウム原料を含むリチウム原料を、硫化水素と反応させ硫化リチウムを製造する、硫化リチウムの製造方法。
本発明の一態様によれば、硫化水素とリチウム原料との反応により硫化リチウムを製造する過程で生じる、未反応の硫化水素を用いて硫黄回収を行うにあたり、未反応の硫化水素およびリチウム原料を含有する混合ガスから、前記リチウム原料を除去している。そのため、クラウス触媒の被毒を抑制するとともに、金属配管の腐食も防止可能な、硫化水素の精製方法を提供できる。
以下、本発明の実施形態について、さらに詳しく説明する。
本発明の一態様の硫化水素の精製方法は、硫化水素とリチウム原料との反応により硫化リチウムを製造する過程で生じる、未反応の硫化水素およびリチウム原料を含有する混合ガスから、サイクロンを用いて前記リチウム原料を除去することを特徴とする。
また、本発明の一態様の硫化水素の精製方法を実施するための硫化水素精製装置は、硫化水素とリチウム原料とを反応させて硫化リチウムを生成する、硫化リチウム生成部と、前記硫化リチウム生成部内の未反応の硫化水素およびリチウム原料を含有する混合ガスを回収する、混合ガス回収部と、前記混合ガスから、サイクロンを用いてリチウム原料を除去し硫化水素を精製する、硫化水素精製部と、を備えることを特徴とする。
上述のように、硫化リチウムの製造には、リチウム原料と硫化水素ガスとの硫化反応が利用され、この硫化反応は、例えば下記式(1)~(3)で表すことができる。なお、下記式(1)ではリチウム原料としてLiOHを記載しているが、本発明はこの形態に制限されない。

ここで、本発明でいう未反応の硫化水素およびリチウム原料を含有する混合ガスにおいて、未反応の硫化水素とは、前記式(1)~(3)で表される硫化反応に関与せず残存した未反応の硫化水素を意味する。また、リチウム原料とは、硫化リチウムの製造する過程で生じる、硫化リチウム(Li2S)およびそれ以外のリチウム化合物も含む意味である。
次に、硫化水素とリチウム原料との反応により硫化リチウムを製造する過程(硫化リチウムの製造工程)および硫化水素とリチウム原料とを反応させて硫化リチウムを生成する、硫化リチウム生成部について説明する。このような硫化リチウムの製造工程および硫化リチウム生成部は公知であり、例えば、日本国特開2017-222567号公報(特許文献1)や、日本国特開2016-150859号公報等に開示されているものが例示される。
具体的には、前記硫化リチウムの製造工程および硫化リチウム生成部は、リチウム原料を加熱された反応槽内に連続的または非連続的に供給すると共に、リチウム原料を反応槽内において一定方向に移動させる。また、一方で、該硫化リチウムの製造工程および硫化リチウム生成部は、硫化水素ガスを反応槽内に連続的または非連続的に供給し、リチウム原料と硫化水素ガスとを反応させて硫化リチウムを連続的または非連続的に製造する。
(硫化水素)
硫化水素は、通常硫化水素ガスとしてリチウム原料と反応し、硫化リチウムを生成する。硫化水素ガスは、硫化水素のみからなるガスであってもよいし、硫化水素を主成分としつつ他のガス成分を含有するガスであってもよい。ここで、主成分とは、当該ガス中で最も含有量の多い成分を意味し、例えば、50vol%以上である。本発明の一態様において、急激に硫化反応が起こるのを抑制するため、例えば、硫化水素ガスに不活性ガスを混合して硫化水素分圧を下げるようにしてもよい。
硫化水素は、通常硫化水素ガスとしてリチウム原料と反応し、硫化リチウムを生成する。硫化水素ガスは、硫化水素のみからなるガスであってもよいし、硫化水素を主成分としつつ他のガス成分を含有するガスであってもよい。ここで、主成分とは、当該ガス中で最も含有量の多い成分を意味し、例えば、50vol%以上である。本発明の一態様において、急激に硫化反応が起こるのを抑制するため、例えば、硫化水素ガスに不活性ガスを混合して硫化水素分圧を下げるようにしてもよい。
かかる観点から、硫化水素ガスの濃度は、10~100vol%であるのが好ましい。なお、硫化水素ガスの濃度が100vol%とは、硫化水素ガスのみからなるガス、すなわち純ガスの意味である。また、硫化水素ガスの濃度が100vol%未満の場合とは、硫化水素ガスと、Arや窒素などの不活性ガスや水素などの還元性ガスとの混合ガスの意味である。
リチウム原料との反応性を維持しつつ、反応槽内でのガス流量を適切に保持するという観点から、硫化水素ガス濃度は10vol%~100vol%であるのが好ましく、中でも20vol%以上または90vol%以下、その中でも特に30vol%以上または80vol%以下であるのがさらに好ましい。
(リチウム原料)
リチウム原料は、硫化リチウムのリチウム源となる原料のことであって、例えば水酸化リチウム、炭酸リチウム、酸化リチウムなどを挙げることができる。中でも、低温にて硫化反応が起こると共に、安定性に優れている観点から、水酸化リチウムが好ましい。

(硫化反応)
反応槽内に供給されたリチウム原料と硫化水素ガスとが接触すると、前記式(1)~(3)の硫化反応が生じ、主生成物である硫化リチウム(Li2S)と、副生成物である水(H2O)などが生成する。

リチウム原料が十分に加熱された状態で硫化水素ガスと接触すると、上記反応はより進むことになる。
この際、リチウム原料の加熱は、リチウム原料が溶融しない温度領域に加熱するのが好ましい。
(反応槽)
反応槽は、リチウム原料と硫化水素ガスとが反応する空間を提供する設備であり、その形状及び大きさは任意である。反応槽の外形形状は、直方体状、円柱状、多角柱状など任意である。反応槽は、リチウム原料と硫化水素ガスとの反応を促進する撹拌機を備えてもよい。
反応槽は、リチウム原料と硫化水素ガスとが反応する空間を提供する設備であり、その形状及び大きさは任意である。反応槽の外形形状は、直方体状、円柱状、多角柱状など任意である。反応槽は、リチウム原料と硫化水素ガスとの反応を促進する撹拌機を備えてもよい。
(反応槽の加熱)
前記硫化リチウムの製造工程では、反応槽内、特に移動中の硫化リチウムが接触する部分を加熱し、反応槽内を移動するリチウム原料を加熱するのが好ましい。十分加熱された状態のリチウム原料を硫化水素ガスと接触させ前記硫化反応を促進させることができる。
前記硫化リチウムの製造工程では、反応槽内、特に移動中の硫化リチウムが接触する部分を加熱し、反応槽内を移動するリチウム原料を加熱するのが好ましい。十分加熱された状態のリチウム原料を硫化水素ガスと接触させ前記硫化反応を促進させることができる。
図1は、前記硫化リチウムの製造工程および硫化リチウム生成部を説明するための、反応槽11の概略図である。
反応槽11の加熱に関しては、図1に示すように、リチウム原料12が移動する方向にみて、反応槽11の中間領域13を加熱手段14により加熱するのが好ましい。
このように加熱することにより、図1に示すように、リチウム原料12の移動方向における位置関係にみて、反応槽11内の中間領域13を、反応槽11を直接加熱する領域とし、当該中間領域13の両側すなわち上流側領域及び下流側領域、具体的にはその領域の反応槽11内壁面温度を100℃以上に加熱される加熱領域とすることができる。なお、図1における左側が上流側であり、右側が下流側とする。
この際、硫化反応を促進させることができる観点から、上記中間領域13の反応槽11内壁面温度は、200℃~450℃であるのが好ましく、中でも300℃以上または450℃以下であるのが特に好ましい。
当該中間領域13の反応槽11内壁面温度はリチウム原料12の品温とほぼ同じ温度であるとみなせるから、中間領域13の反応槽11内壁面が200℃~450℃であれば、上記硫化反応を十分に促進できる。
(反応槽内へのリチウム原料の供給及び移動)
前記硫化リチウムの製造工程および硫化リチウム生成部では、図1に示すように、リチウム原料12を反応槽11内に連続的に供給すると共に、反応槽11内において一定方向にリチウム原料12を移動させることができる。

また、反応槽11内においてリチウム原料12を移動させる方向は、例えば水平方向、垂直上下方向、回転方向、回転軸方向、及び反応槽11の長さ方向など任意である。例えば、図1に示すように、反応槽11の長さ方向にリチウム原料12を移動させることができる。
(反応槽内への硫化水素ガスの供給及び移動)
図1に示す形態の前記硫化リチウムの製造工程および硫化リチウム生成部では、上記硫化水素15を反応槽11内に連続的に供給する。

前記硫化リチウムの製造工程および硫化リチウム生成部では、図1に示すように、反応槽11内において、リチウム原料12の移動方向と対向する方向に沿って、その下流側から上流側に向かって、硫化水素15を流動させることができる。
また、前記硫化リチウムの製造工程および硫化リチウム生成部において、硫化水素15の移動方向は、リチウム原料12の移動方向と同じでもよい。
この際、反応槽11内において硫化水素15を流動させる速度は任意である。
さらに、前記硫化リチウムの製造工程および硫化リチウム生成部では、図1に示すように、リチウム原料12の移動方向における位置関係において、リチウム原料12を反応槽11内に供給する位置よりも下流側から、上記硫化水素15を反応槽11内に供給するのが好ましい。
なお、リチウム原料12の移動方向における位置関係において、硫化水素15の供給位置を、加熱領域(上流側)若しくは中間領域13内に設けてもよい。
(排気)
前記硫化リチウムの製造工程および硫化リチウム生成部では、図1に示すように、上記硫化反応によって生成した副生成物である水蒸気(H2O)及び二酸化炭素(CO2)、さらには未反応の硫化水素ガスなどを、反応槽11の外に排気17する。
前記硫化リチウムの製造工程および硫化リチウム生成部では、図1に示すように、上記硫化反応によって生成した副生成物である水蒸気(H2O)及び二酸化炭素(CO2)、さらには未反応の硫化水素ガスなどを、反応槽11の外に排気17する。
排気された未反応の硫化水素ガスはクラウス法により、元素硫黄として回収できる。しかし上述のように、この排気された未反応の硫化水素ガスの中には、微粉状のリチウム原料が含まれ、このリチウム原料がクラウス触媒を被毒したり、さらに水分とともに存在することにより、金属配管等を腐食するという問題点があった。
そこで本発明の一態様では、未反応の硫化水素およびリチウム原料を含有する混合ガスを回収し、前記リチウム原料を除去して硫化水素を精製する工程並びに装置を備えてなることを特徴とする。具体的な方法および手段については下記で説明する。
(硫化リチウムの回収)
上記硫化反応によって生成した主生成物である硫化リチウム(Li2S)は、図1に示すように、下流側に移動させて硫化リチウム回収槽18内に回収するのが好ましい。

硫化リチウム(Li2S)を硫化リチウム回収槽18内に回収して溜める場合、硫化リチウム回収槽18の内壁面温度を100℃以上に加熱するのが好ましい。
反応副生成物である水が硫化リチウム回収槽18内で結露し、反応生成物である硫化リチウムと結露した水分とが反応して水酸化リチウムを生成し、硫化リチウムの純度が低下することがある。これに対し、前記のように硫化リチウム回収槽18の内壁面を加熱すれば、硫化リチウム回収槽18内の水分を気体化させることができ、水(液体)として存在しないようにできる。さらには、硫化リチウム回収槽18内の水分を揮発させることができ、回収した硫化リチウムが凝集したり、硫化リチウム回収槽18の内壁面に付着したりするのを抑制できる。
さらに、硫化リチウム回収槽18内に不活性ガスを供給するようにしてもよい。これにより、不活性ガスとともに水分を硫化リチウム回収槽18の外に排出させることができる。
次に本発明に一態様における未反応の硫化水素およびリチウム原料を含有する混合ガスを回収し、前記リチウム原料を除去して硫化水素を精製する工程並びに装置について説明する。
図2は、未反応の硫化水素およびリチウム原料を含有する混合ガスを回収し、前記リチウム原料を除去して硫化水素を精製する工程並びに装置を説明するための概略図である。
図2において、図1で説明した前記硫化リチウムの製造工程および硫化リチウム生成部から排気された未反応の硫化水素ガスおよびリチウム原料を含有する混合ガスは、原料分離器10に回収され、原料分離器10に設けられた硫化水素精製部によって、前記混合ガスからリチウム原料が除去され、硫化水素が精製される。
図3は、原料分離器10に設けられた硫化水素精製部を説明するための概略図である。
図3において、原料分離器10であるサイクロン部104には、混合ガス導入口102、精製された硫化水素ガスを排出するガス排出口116を主に備える。また回収リチウム原料108は図示しない貯槽部を介して排出される。ガス排出口116はデミスターを有していてもよい。
次に動作について説明する。
図1で説明した前記硫化リチウムの製造工程および硫化リチウム生成部から排気された未反応の硫化水素ガスおよびリチウム原料を含有する混合ガス101は、混合ガス導入口102から原料分離器10内に導入される。
混合ガス101は、水分を含むために混合ガス温度を100~220℃に調整するのが好ましく、140~180℃に調整するのがさらに好ましい。前記混合ガス温度を100℃以上にすることにより、原料分離器10内での水分の結露を抑制することができ、220℃以下にすることにより、原料分離器10の構成部材のコストを抑えることができる。
サイクロン部104においては、重力と遠心力を利用して回収リチウム原料108と硫化水素ガス118を分離する。混合ガス導入口102の口径は、ガス排出口116の口径より小さいことが好ましい。すなわち混合ガス101の導入口102における線速は、硫化水素ガス118のガス排出口116における線速よりも速いことが好ましい。
デミスターとしては、公知のものを使用することができ、とくに限定するものではないが、例えば金属線、樹脂、ガラス繊維等の三次元網目構造体を、小さな圧力損失でありながら流体との接触面を増大させるべく幾層にも積層してマット状にした部材等が挙げられる。
精製された硫化水素ガス118は、ガス排出口116を経て、原料分離器10の外部に設けられた図示しない精製硫化水素ガス収容部に収容される。精製された硫化水素ガス118の水分濃度は、10質量%以下が好ましく、8質量%以下がさらに好ましい。
なお、前記精製された硫化水素ガス並びに回収されたリチウム原料は、図2に示すように硫化リチウム生成部に供給して硫化リチウムの製造工程に再利用できる。この硫化リチウムの製造工程は、精製された硫化水素ガス並びに回収されたリチウム原料のみを用いてもよく、あらたに硫化水素ガスやリチウム原料を追加混合して用いてもよい。
したがって本発明の別の見地によれば、硫化水素とリチウム原料とを反応させて硫化リチウムを生成する、硫化リチウム生成部と、前記硫化リチウム生成部内の未反応の硫化水素およびリチウム原料を含有する混合ガスを回収する、混合ガス回収部と、前記混合ガスからリチウム原料を除去し硫化水素を精製する、硫化水素精製部と、前記硫化水素精製部で得られた硫化水素を前記硫化リチウム生成部へ供給する、硫化水素供給部と、を備える硫化リチウム製造装置を提供するものである。
または、硫化水素とリチウム原料とを反応させて硫化リチウムを生成する、硫化リチウム生成部と、前記硫化リチウム生成部内の未反応の硫化水素およびリチウム原料を含有する混合ガスを回収する、混合ガス回収部と、前記混合ガスからリチウム原料を除去し硫化水素を精製する、硫化水素精製部と、前記硫化水素精製部で回収されたリチウム原料を前記硫化リチウム生成部へ供給する、リチウム原料供給部と、を備える硫化リチウム製造装置を提供するものである。
以上、図面を参照しながら各種の実施の形態について説明したが、本発明はかかる例に限定されないことは言うまでもない。当業者であれば、特許請求の範囲に記載された範疇内において、各種の変更例又は修正例に想到し得ることは明らかであり、それらについても当然に本発明の技術的範囲に属するものと了解される。また、発明の趣旨を逸脱しない範囲において、上記実施の形態における各構成要素を任意に組み合わせてもよい。

Claims (4)
- 硫化水素とリチウム原料との反応により硫化リチウムを製造する過程で生じる、未反応の硫化水素およびリチウム原料を含有する混合ガスから、サイクロンを用いて前記リチウム原料を除去する、硫化水素の精製方法。
- 前記リチウム原料が除去された前記混合ガス中の水分が10質量%以下である、請求項1に記載の硫化水素の精製方法。
- 請求項1または2に記載の硫化水素の精製方法によって得られた硫化水素を含む硫化水素を、リチウム原料と反応させ硫化リチウムを製造する、硫化リチウムの製造方法。
- 請求項1または2に記載された硫化水素の精製方法によって精製されたリチウム原料を含むリチウム原料を、硫化水素と反応させ硫化リチウムを製造する、硫化リチウムの製造方法。
