Abstract
燃料製造設備は、水電解装置と、バイオマスをガス化するように構成されたガス化炉と、前記ガス化炉に前記バイオマスをガス化するためのガス化剤を供給するためのガス化剤供給部と、前記ガス化炉で生成された合成ガスから燃料を生成するように構成された燃料生成部と、前記ガス化炉から前記燃料生成部に導かれる前記合成ガスに水素を供給するための第1水素供給部と、を備え、前記第1水素供給部は、前記水電解装置で生成された水素の少なくとも一部を前記合成ガスに供給するように構成され、前記ガス化剤供給部は、前記水電解装置で生成された酸素を、前記ガス化剤の少なくとも一部として前記ガス化炉に供給するように構成され、前記ガス化剤中の酸素の含有量が50体積%以上100体積%以下であり、前記ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量が1体積%未満である。
Description
本開示は、燃料製造設備及び燃料製造方法に関する。
本願は、2022年7月13日に日本国特許庁に出願された特願2022-112107号に基づき優先権を主張し、その内容をここに援用する。

バイオマスを原料として燃料を製造するための設備や方法が知られている。
例えば、特許文献1には、バイオマス原料からメタノールを製造するための設備が開示されている。この設備は、バイオマス原料をガス化するためのガス化炉と、ガス化炉で生じた生成ガスからメタノールを製造するメタノール合成塔と、を備えている。バイオマスをガス化するためのガス化剤として、酸素及び水蒸気がガス化炉に供給されるようになっている。
ところで、ガス化炉でバイオマスをガス化して得られる合成ガスから燃料を効率的に合成するためには、ガス化炉から燃料生成部(特許文献1ではメタノール合成塔)に導かれる合成ガスの組成(水素濃度等)を適切な範囲内とする必要がある。
ここで、ガス化炉では、バイオマスの熱分解等により生成される一酸化炭素と、水蒸気とから、下記式(A)で示すシフト反応によって水素及び二酸化炭素が生成される。

したがって、ガス化炉でバイオマスをガス化して得られる合成ガス中の水素濃度を高めるためには、通常、ガス化剤としての水蒸気の供給量を増やして、上述のシフト反応を促進させることが考えられる。

一方、バイオマス等の個体の原料の組成が不均一であることに加え、ガス化剤としての水蒸気の供給量を調節してから合成ガスの組成が変化するまでには比較的長い時間がかかるため、水蒸気供給量の調節により合成ガスの組成を迅速に調節するのは難しい。また、合成ガス中の水素濃度を高めるためにガス化剤としての水蒸気供給量を増加させると、上述のシフト反応が促進されるため多量の二酸化炭素が生成され、二酸化炭素の系外への排出量が増大してしまう。
上述の事情に鑑みて、本発明の少なくとも一実施形態は、二酸化炭素の排出量を低減しながら、燃料生成部に供給されるガスの組成を迅速に調節することが可能な燃料製造設備及び燃料製造方法を提供することを目的とする。
本発明の少なくとも一実施形態に係る燃料製造設備は、
水電解装置と、
バイオマスをガス化するように構成されたガス化炉と、
前記ガス化炉に前記バイオマスをガス化するためのガス化剤を供給するためのガス化剤供給部と、
前記ガス化炉で生成された合成ガスから燃料を生成するように構成された燃料生成部と、
前記ガス化炉から前記燃料生成部に導かれる前記合成ガスに水素を供給するための第1水素供給部と、を備え、

本発明の少なくとも一実施形態によれば、二酸化炭素の排出量を低減しながら、燃料生成部に供給されるガスの組成を迅速に調節することが可能な燃料製造設備及び燃料製造方法が提供される。
以下、添付図面を参照して本発明の幾つかの実施形態について説明する。ただし、実施形態として記載されている又は図面に示されている構成部品の寸法、材質、形状、その相対的配置等は、本発明の範囲をこれに限定する趣旨ではなく、単なる説明例にすぎない。
(燃料製造設備の構成)
図1は、一実施形態に係る燃料製造設備の概略構成図である。図1に示す燃料製造設備100は、バイオマスを原料として燃料を製造するための設備である。同図に示すように、燃料製造設備100は、バイオマスをガス化して合成ガスを生成するためのガス化炉10と、ガス化炉10で生成された合成ガスから燃料を生成するための燃料生成部50と、を備えている。また、燃料製造設備100は、水を電気分解するための水電解装置24を備えている。
図1は、一実施形態に係る燃料製造設備の概略構成図である。図1に示す燃料製造設備100は、バイオマスを原料として燃料を製造するための設備である。同図に示すように、燃料製造設備100は、バイオマスをガス化して合成ガスを生成するためのガス化炉10と、ガス化炉10で生成された合成ガスから燃料を生成するための燃料生成部50と、を備えている。また、燃料製造設備100は、水を電気分解するための水電解装置24を備えている。
ガス化炉10には、燃料の原料となるバイオマス(草木等の生物資源)が供給されるとともに、バイオマスをガス化するためのガス化剤がガス化剤供給部12を介して供給されるようになっている。バイオマスは粉砕されてからガス化炉10に供給されるようになっていてもよい。
ガス化剤供給部12は、酸素を含むガス化剤をガス化炉10に供給するように構成される。ガス化炉10では、1000℃程度の高温において、ガス化剤供給部12から供給された酸素との反応でバイオマスはその熱分解生成物が部分酸化され(例えば下記式B)、一酸化炭素が生成される。

また、このように生成された一酸化炭素の一部と、ガス化炉10内の水蒸気とから、下記式(A)で示すシフト反応によって水素及び二酸化炭素が生成される。

上述のシフト反応(上記式A)における水蒸気は、例えば上記式Bで示すバイオマスの部分燃焼で生成される水蒸気(H2O)や、ガス化炉に供給されたバイオマスに含まれる水分が気化したものを含む。
このようにして、ガス化炉10では、一酸化炭素及(CO)び水素(H2)を含む合成ガスが生成される。

また、このように生成された一酸化炭素の一部と、ガス化炉10内の水蒸気とから、下記式(A)で示すシフト反応によって水素及び二酸化炭素が生成される。

上述のシフト反応(上記式A)における水蒸気は、例えば上記式Bで示すバイオマスの部分燃焼で生成される水蒸気(H2O)や、ガス化炉に供給されたバイオマスに含まれる水分が気化したものを含む。
このようにして、ガス化炉10では、一酸化炭素及(CO)び水素(H2)を含む合成ガスが生成される。
ガス化炉10で生成された合成ガスは、合成ガスライン14を介して燃料生成部50に導かれるようになっている。図1に示すように、合成ガスライン14には、ガス化炉10からの合成ガスを冷却するためのガスクーラ16,20、合成ガスに同伴されるチャー等の固形分を除去するためのフィルタ18、及び/又は、合成ガスに含まれる不要成分を洗浄するためのスクラバ22が設けられていてもよい。
なお、ガスクーラ16,20は、冷却媒体との熱交換により合成ガスを冷却するように構成されてもよい。ガスクーラ16,20には、冷却媒体ライン44を介して冷却媒体(例えば水等)が供給されるように構成されてもよい。ガスクーラ16,20で合成ガスとの熱交換により昇温した冷却媒体は、供給先に供給されて、例えば発電機を駆動するタービン用の流体として、あるいはヒータの熱源として、適宜利用されるようになっていてもよい。冷却媒体ライン44には、冷却媒体を加温又は冷却して適温に調節するための温度調節部46が設けられていてもよい。
燃料製造設備100は、ガス化炉10から燃料生成部50に導かれる合成ガスに水素を供給するための第1水素供給部30をさらに備えている。すなわち、燃料生成部50には、ガス化炉10で生成された一酸化炭素及び水素を含む合成ガスに、第1水素供給部30からの水素が混合されたガスが供給されるようになっている。図1に示す例示的な実施形態では、第1水素供給部30は、合成ガスライン14において、ガスクーラ16,20、フィルタ18及び、スクラバ22の下流側の位置PHに水素を供給するようになっている。
燃料生成部50は、合成ガスライン14を介して導かれたガス(即ち、ガス化炉10で生成された合成ガスに第1水素供給部30からの水素ガスが混合されたガス)から、燃料を生成するように構成される。燃料生成部50で生成される燃料は、航空機用燃料等として使用可能な液体燃料であってもよい。
図1に示す例示的な実施形態では、燃料生成部50は、ガス精製部52と、炭化水素合成部54と、水素化分解部56と、蒸留部58と、を含む。
ガス精製部52は、合成ガスライン14から供給されたガスから、炭化水素合成部54で用いられる触媒の被毒成分(例えば硫黄(S)や鉛(Pb))を、薬品又は吸着材等を用いて除去するように構成される。
炭化水素合成部54は、合成ガスライン14から供給されたガス(一酸化炭素及び水素を含むガス)から炭化水素を合成するように構成される。炭化水素合成部54は、FT(Fischer-Tropsch)合成によって、一酸化炭素及び水素から炭化水素を合成するように構成されてもよい。
水素化分解部56は、炭化水素合成部54で合成された炭化水素に水素を添加して該炭化水素を分解し、適当な炭素数の炭化水素に転換するように構成される。
蒸留部58は、水素化分解部56で得られた炭化水素を含む混合物を、蒸留によって分離するように構成される。
このようにして、燃料生成部50では、合成ガスライン14から導かれたガスを原料として燃料(炭化水素)が得られる。
水電解装置24は、水の電気分解により水素及び酸素を生成するように構成される。水電解装置24のタイプは限定されない。水電解装置24は、例えば、アルカリ型水電解装置、固体高分子膜(Polymer Electrolyte Membrane:PEM)型水電解装置、アニオン交換膜(Anion Exchange Membrane:AEM)型水電解装置であってもよい。
詳しくは図示しないが、水電解装置24は、水を電気分解するための電解槽を含む。電解槽には水が供給されるようになっている。電解槽には、整流器を介して電流が供給される。これにより、電解槽に設けられた一対の電極間に電圧をかけて電流を流すことで電解槽内の水が電気分解され、陰極側で水素が発生し、陽極側で酸素が発生する。電解槽内には、電解質が溶解した水(電解質溶液)が供給されており、該水(電解質溶液を構成する水)が電気分解されるようになっていてもよい。電解質は、水酸化カリウム(KOH)等のアルカリ性物質であってもよい。
図1に示すように、水電解装置24で生成された水素及び酸素は、水素ライン28及び酸素ライン26にそれぞれ導かれるようになっている。なお、水電解装置24で生成された水素及び酸素は、それぞれ、気液分離器及び/又は除湿器に導かれて水分が除去された後、水素ライン28及び酸素ライン26にそれぞれ導かれるようになっていてもよい。図1に示すように、水素ライン28には、水素ガスを貯留するためのバッファタンク29が設けられていてもよい。
幾つかの実施形態では、図1に示すように、水電解装置24で生成された酸素が、上述のガス化剤としてガス化剤供給部12を介してガス化炉10に供給されるとともに、水電解装置24で生成された水素の少なくとも一部が、第1水素供給部30を介して燃料生成部50に向かう合成ガスに供給されるように構成される。
図1に示す例示的な実施形態では、ガス化剤供給部12は、水電解装置24からの酸素が導かれる酸素ライン26を含む。ガス化剤供給部12は、酸素の含有量が50体積%以上100体積%以下であり、かつ、水蒸気の含有量が1体積%未満のガス化剤を、ガス化炉10に供給するように構成される。
図1に示す例示的な実施形態では、第1水素供給部30は、水電解装置24からの水素が流れる水素ライン28を含む。
バイオマスをガス化するためのガス化剤中の水蒸気含有量が低い場合、水蒸気を多く含むガス化剤を用いる場合に比べて、ガス化炉においてシフト反応(上記式A)が促進され難いため、バイオマスをガス化して得られる合成ガスに含まれる水素の濃度が低くなる。
この点、上述の実施形態では、ガス化剤中の酸素含有量が50体積%以上100体積%未満であり、水蒸気の含有量が1体積%未満であるため、ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量は低く、上述したように、ガス化炉10で得られる合成ガスに含まれる水素の濃度は比較的低くなる。一方、上述の実施形態では、ガス化炉10から燃料生成部50に導かれる合成ガスに、水電解装置24で生成された水素を供給するようにしたので、燃料生成部50に供給されるガスの組成(例えば、一酸化炭素と水素の比率等)を迅速に調整することができる。また、上述の実施形態では、ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量が低いため、ガス化炉10においてシフト反応が促進され難い。このため、ガス化炉10で生成される合成ガスに含まれる二酸化炭素の濃度を低減することができる。このため、二酸化炭素の系外への排出量を低減することができる。また、上述の実施形態では、ガス化剤としてガス化炉10に供給される酸素と、ガス化炉10で生成された合成ガスに供給される水素とが同一の水電解装置24で生成される。このため、機器の設置スペースの増大を抑制しながら、ガス化炉10での合成ガスの生成、及び、燃料生成部50に供給されるガス組成の調整の両方を行うことができる。
よって、上述の実施形態によれば、二酸化炭素の排出量を低減しながら、かつ、設備コストの増大を抑制しながら、燃料生成部50に供給されるガスの組成を迅速に調節することができる。
この点、上述の実施形態では、ガス化剤中の酸素含有量が50体積%以上100体積%未満であり、水蒸気の含有量が1体積%未満であるため、ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量は低く、上述したように、ガス化炉10で得られる合成ガスに含まれる水素の濃度は比較的低くなる。一方、上述の実施形態では、ガス化炉10から燃料生成部50に導かれる合成ガスに、水電解装置24で生成された水素を供給するようにしたので、燃料生成部50に供給されるガスの組成(例えば、一酸化炭素と水素の比率等)を迅速に調整することができる。また、上述の実施形態では、ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量が低いため、ガス化炉10においてシフト反応が促進され難い。このため、ガス化炉10で生成される合成ガスに含まれる二酸化炭素の濃度を低減することができる。このため、二酸化炭素の系外への排出量を低減することができる。また、上述の実施形態では、ガス化剤としてガス化炉10に供給される酸素と、ガス化炉10で生成された合成ガスに供給される水素とが同一の水電解装置24で生成される。このため、機器の設置スペースの増大を抑制しながら、ガス化炉10での合成ガスの生成、及び、燃料生成部50に供給されるガス組成の調整の両方を行うことができる。
よって、上述の実施形態によれば、二酸化炭素の排出量を低減しながら、かつ、設備コストの増大を抑制しながら、燃料生成部50に供給されるガスの組成を迅速に調節することができる。
また、上述の実施形態では、ガス化炉10でのガス化反応に必要な温度(1000℃程度)よりも低温の水蒸気(例えば600℃程度)をガス化剤としてガス化炉10に供給する必要がない。このため、ガス化炉の炉内温度の維持に必要な酸素の供給量を低減できるため、効率的に合成ガスを生成することができる。
また、上述の実施形態では、ガス化炉10で生成された合成ガスの冷却に使用されて高温となった冷却媒体(例えば水蒸気)を、ガス化剤として使用する必要がない。よって、該冷却媒体をガス化剤以外の用途で有効利用することができる。
幾つかの実施形態に係る燃料製造設備100は、ガス化炉10にガス化剤としての水蒸気を供給する設備を備えていない。
上述の実施形態では、ガス化炉10にガス化剤としての水蒸気を供給する設備が設けられない。このため、二酸化炭素の排出量を低減しながら、かつ、設備コストの増大をより効果的に抑制しながら、燃料生成部50に供給されるガスの組成を迅速に調節することができる。
幾つかの実施形態では、ガス化剤供給部12は、酸素の含有量が80体積%以上100%以下のガス化剤を、ガス化炉10に供給するように構成される。
上述の実施形態によれば、ガス化炉10に供給されるガス化剤中の酸素の含有量が80体積%以上100以下であり、ガス化剤中の酸素含有量が比較的高い。このため、ガス化剤としての水蒸気の供給量が少ないにもかかわらず、バイオマスのガス化を効率的に行うことができる。
幾つかの実施形態では、第1水素供給部30は、水素ライン28に設けられ、合成ガスに供給される水素の流量を調節するための第1バルブ34を含んでもよい。このように第1バルブ34を設けることで、合成ガスライン14から燃料生成部50に供給されるガスの組成(例えば、一酸化炭素と水素の比率等)を容易に調節することができる。
幾つかの実施形態では、合成ガスライン14において、第1水素供給部30による水素の供給位置PHよりも下流側の位置にて合成ガスライン14を流れるガスの組成を計測するように構成されたガス組成計測部36を備える。そして、第1水素供給部30は、ガス組成計測部36により計測されたガスの組成に基づいて、第1水素供給部30による合成ガスへの水素の供給量を調節するように構成されてもよい。
例えば、ガス組成計測部36は、ガス中の一酸化炭素の濃度及び水素の濃度を計測するように構成されていてもよい。また、第1水素供給部30は、第1バルブ34の開度を制御するためのコントローラを含んでもよい。該コントローラは、ガス組成計測部36から、ガス中の一酸化炭素の濃度及び水素の濃度の計測値を示す信号を受け取り、当該計測値から算出される一酸化炭素と水素濃度との比が設定された目標値に近づくように、第1バルブ34の開度を調節するように構成されてもよい。
上述の実施形態によれば、合成ガスライン14における水素供給位置PHよりも下流側の位置でのガスの組成に基づいて、合成ガスへの水素の供給量を調節するようにしたので、燃料生成部50に供給されるガスの組成を迅速かつ適切に調節することができる。
幾つかの実施形態では、燃料製造設備100は、燃料生成部50の水素化分解部56に水素を供給するための第2水素供給部38を備える。図1に示すように、第2水素供給部38は、水電解装置24で生成された水素の少なくとも一部を水素化分解部56に供給するように構成されてもよい。図1に示す例示的な実施形態では、水電解装置24で生成された水素が流れる水素ライン28から分岐する分岐ライン31を介して、水素化分解部56に水素が供給されるように構成されている。分岐ライン31には、水素化分解部56に供給される水素の流量を調節するための第2バルブ42が設けられていてもよい。
上述の実施形態によれば、水素化分解部56での炭化水素の水素化分解に用いる水素として、水電解装置24で生成された水素が使用される。すなわち、ガス化炉10から燃料生成部50に導かれるガスの組成を調整するために該ガスに供給される水素(第1水素供給部30から供給される水素)と、水素化分解部56に供給される水素(第2水素供給部38から供給される水素)の供給源が同一の水電解装置24である。よって、水素化分解に用いる水素を製造するための装置を別途設ける場合に比べ、装置コストや設置スペースを低減することができる。
上記各実施形態に記載の内容は、例えば以下のように把握される。

前記ガス化剤中の酸素の含有量が50体積%以上100体積%以下であり、
前記ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量が1体積%未満である。
バイオマスをガス化するためのガス化剤中の水蒸気含有量が低い場合、水蒸気を多く含むガス化剤を用いる場合に比べて、ガス化炉においてシフト反応が促進され難いため、バイオマスをガス化して得られる合成ガスに含まれる水素の濃度が低くなる。
この点、上記(1)の構成では、ガス化剤中の酸素含有量が50体積%以上100体積%未満であり、水蒸気の含有量が1体積%未満であるため、ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量は低く、上述したように、ガス化炉で得られる合成ガスに含まれる水素の濃度は比較的低くなる。一方、上記(1)の構成では、ガス化炉から燃料生成部に導かれる合成ガスに、水電解装置で生成された水素を供給するようにしたので、燃料生成部に供給されるガスの組成を迅速に調整することができる。また、上記(1)の構成では、ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量が低いため、ガス化炉においてシフト反応が促進され難い。このため、ガス化炉で生成される合成ガスに含まれる二酸化炭素の濃度を低減することができる。このため、二酸化炭素の系外への排出量を低減することができる。また、上記(1)の構成では、ガス化剤としてガス化炉に供給される酸素と、ガス化炉で生成された合成ガスに供給される水素とが同一の水電解装置で生成される。このため、機器の設置スペースの増大を抑制しながら、ガス化炉での合成ガスの生成、及び、燃料生成部に供給されるガス組成の調整の両方を行うことができる。
よって、上記(1)の構成によれば、二酸化炭素の排出量を低減しながら、かつ、設備コストの増大を抑制しながら、燃料生成部に供給されるガスの組成を迅速に調節することができる。
この点、上記(1)の構成では、ガス化剤中の酸素含有量が50体積%以上100体積%未満であり、水蒸気の含有量が1体積%未満であるため、ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量は低く、上述したように、ガス化炉で得られる合成ガスに含まれる水素の濃度は比較的低くなる。一方、上記(1)の構成では、ガス化炉から燃料生成部に導かれる合成ガスに、水電解装置で生成された水素を供給するようにしたので、燃料生成部に供給されるガスの組成を迅速に調整することができる。また、上記(1)の構成では、ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量が低いため、ガス化炉においてシフト反応が促進され難い。このため、ガス化炉で生成される合成ガスに含まれる二酸化炭素の濃度を低減することができる。このため、二酸化炭素の系外への排出量を低減することができる。また、上記(1)の構成では、ガス化剤としてガス化炉に供給される酸素と、ガス化炉で生成された合成ガスに供給される水素とが同一の水電解装置で生成される。このため、機器の設置スペースの増大を抑制しながら、ガス化炉での合成ガスの生成、及び、燃料生成部に供給されるガス組成の調整の両方を行うことができる。
よって、上記(1)の構成によれば、二酸化炭素の排出量を低減しながら、かつ、設備コストの増大を抑制しながら、燃料生成部に供給されるガスの組成を迅速に調節することができる。
(2)幾つかの実施形態では、上記(1)の構成において、

前記ガス化炉に前記ガス化剤としての水蒸気を供給する設備を備えていない。

上記(2)の構成によれば、ガス化炉にガス化剤としての水蒸気を供給する設備を設ける必要がない。このため、二酸化炭素の排出量を低減しながら、かつ、設備コストの増大をより効果的に抑制しながら、燃料生成部に供給されるガスの組成を迅速に調節することができる。
(3)幾つかの実施形態では、上記(1)又は(2)の構成において、
前記ガス化剤中の酸素の含有量が80体積%以上100%以下である。

上記(3)の構成によれば、ガス化剤中の酸素の含有量が80体積%以上100以下であり、ガス化剤中の酸素含有量が比較的高いので、ガス化剤としての水蒸気の供給量が少ないにもかかわらず、バイオマスのガス化を効率的に行うことができる。

前記燃料製造設備は、
前記ガス化炉からの前記合成ガスを前記燃料生成部に導くための合成ガスライン(14)と、
前記合成ガスラインにおいて、前記第1水素供給部による水素の供給位置よりも下流側の位置にて前記合成ガスラインを流れるガスの組成を計測するように構成されたガス組成計測部(36)と、
を備え、
前記第1水素供給部は、前記ガス組成計測部により計測された前記ガスの組成に基づいて、前記合成ガスへの水素の供給量を調節するように構成される。
前記燃料製造設備は、
前記ガス化炉からの前記合成ガスを前記燃料生成部に導くための合成ガスライン(14)と、
前記合成ガスラインにおいて、前記第1水素供給部による水素の供給位置よりも下流側の位置にて前記合成ガスラインを流れるガスの組成を計測するように構成されたガス組成計測部(36)と、

前記第1水素供給部は、前記ガス組成計測部により計測された前記ガスの組成に基づいて、前記合成ガスへの水素の供給量を調節するように構成される。
上記(4)の構成によれば、合成ガスラインにおける水素供給位置よりも下流側の位置でのガスの組成に基づいて、合成ガスへの水素の供給量を調節するようにしたので、燃料生成部に供給されるガスの組成を迅速かつ適切に調節することができる。
(5)幾つかの実施形態では、上記(1)乃至(4)の何れかの構成において、
前記燃料生成部は、
前記ガス化炉からの前記合成ガスから炭化水素を合成するように構成された炭化水素合成部(54)と、
前記炭化水素合成部で合成された前記炭化水素を水素化分解するように構成された水素化分解部(56)と、を含む。
前記燃料生成部は、
前記ガス化炉からの前記合成ガスから炭化水素を合成するように構成された炭化水素合成部(54)と、

上記(5)の構成によれば、ガス化炉で生成された合成ガスから炭化水素を合成するとともに、このように合成された炭化水素を水素化分解することにより、燃料を適切に生成することができる。

上記(6)の構成によれば、水素化分解部での炭化水素の水素化分解に用いる水素として、水電解装置で生成された水素が使用される。すなわち、ガス化炉から燃料生成部に導かれるガスの組成を調整するために該ガスに供給される水素(第1水素供給部から供給される水素)と、水素化分解部に供給される水素(第2水素供給部から供給される水素)の供給源が同一の水電解装置である。よって、水素化分解に用いる水素を製造するための装置を別途設ける場合に比べ、装置コストや設置スペースを低減することができる。
(7)本発明の少なくとも一実施形態に係る燃料製造方法は、
水電解装置で生成された酸素を含むガス化剤を用いてバイオマスをガス化させて合成ガスを得るステップと、
前記合成ガスに前記水電解装置で生成された水素の少なくとも一部を供給するステップと、
前記水素が供給された前記合成ガスから燃料を生成するステップと、
を備え、
前記ガス化剤中の酸素の含有量が50体積%以上100体積%以下であり、
前記ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量が1体積%未満である。
水電解装置で生成された酸素を含むガス化剤を用いてバイオマスをガス化させて合成ガスを得るステップと、
前記合成ガスに前記水電解装置で生成された水素の少なくとも一部を供給するステップと、
前記水素が供給された前記合成ガスから燃料を生成するステップと、
を備え、
前記ガス化剤中の酸素の含有量が50体積%以上100体積%以下であり、
前記ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量が1体積%未満である。
バイオマスをガス化するためのガス化剤中の水蒸気含有量が低い場合、水蒸気を多く含むガス化剤を用いる場合に比べて、ガス化炉においてシフト反応が促進され難いため、バイオマスをガス化して得られる合成ガスに含まれる水素の濃度が低くなる。
この点、上記(7)の方法では、ガス化剤中の酸素含有量が50体積%以上100体積%未満であり、水蒸気の含有量が1体積%未満であるため、ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量は低く、上述したように、ガス化炉で得られる合成ガスに含まれる水素の濃度は比較的低くなる。一方、上記(7)の方法では、ガス化炉から燃料生成部に導かれる合成ガスに、水電解装置で生成された水素を供給するようにしたので、燃料生成部に供給されるガスの組成を迅速に調整することができる。また、上記(7)の方法では、ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量が低いため、ガス化炉においてシフト反応が促進され難い。このため、ガス化炉で生成される合成ガスに含まれる二酸化炭素の濃度を低減することができる。このため、二酸化炭素の系外への排出量を低減することができる。また、上記(7)の方法では、ガス化剤としてガス化炉に供給される酸素と、ガス化炉で生成された合成ガスに供給される水素とが同一の水電解装置で生成される。このため、機器の設置スペースの増大を抑制しながら、ガス化炉での合成ガスの生成、及び、燃料生成部に供給されるガス組成の調整の両方を行うことができる。
また、水蒸気を多く含むガス化剤を用いた場合、合成ガス中に水蒸気を多く含むため、冷却や精製の過程で多くの排水を生じてしまうが、上記(7)の方法であれば合成ガス中の水蒸気量を低減できるため排水量を低減することもできる。
よって、上記(7)の方法によれば、二酸化炭素の排出量を低減、排水量を低減しながら、かつ、設備コストの増大を抑制しながら、燃料生成部に供給されるガスの組成を迅速に調節することができる。
この点、上記(7)の方法では、ガス化剤中の酸素含有量が50体積%以上100体積%未満であり、水蒸気の含有量が1体積%未満であるため、ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量は低く、上述したように、ガス化炉で得られる合成ガスに含まれる水素の濃度は比較的低くなる。一方、上記(7)の方法では、ガス化炉から燃料生成部に導かれる合成ガスに、水電解装置で生成された水素を供給するようにしたので、燃料生成部に供給されるガスの組成を迅速に調整することができる。また、上記(7)の方法では、ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量が低いため、ガス化炉においてシフト反応が促進され難い。このため、ガス化炉で生成される合成ガスに含まれる二酸化炭素の濃度を低減することができる。このため、二酸化炭素の系外への排出量を低減することができる。また、上記(7)の方法では、ガス化剤としてガス化炉に供給される酸素と、ガス化炉で生成された合成ガスに供給される水素とが同一の水電解装置で生成される。このため、機器の設置スペースの増大を抑制しながら、ガス化炉での合成ガスの生成、及び、燃料生成部に供給されるガス組成の調整の両方を行うことができる。
また、水蒸気を多く含むガス化剤を用いた場合、合成ガス中に水蒸気を多く含むため、冷却や精製の過程で多くの排水を生じてしまうが、上記(7)の方法であれば合成ガス中の水蒸気量を低減できるため排水量を低減することもできる。
よって、上記(7)の方法によれば、二酸化炭素の排出量を低減、排水量を低減しながら、かつ、設備コストの増大を抑制しながら、燃料生成部に供給されるガスの組成を迅速に調節することができる。
以上、本発明の実施形態について説明したが、本発明は上述した実施形態に限定されることはなく、上述した実施形態に変形を加えた形態や、これらの形態を適宜組み合わせた形態も含む。
本明細書において、「ある方向に」、「ある方向に沿って」、「平行」、「直交」、「中心」、「同心」或いは「同軸」等の相対的或いは絶対的な配置を表す表現は、厳密にそのような配置を表すのみならず、公差、若しくは、同じ機能が得られる程度の角度や距離をもって相対的に変位している状態も表すものとする。
例えば、「同一」、「等しい」及び「均質」等の物事が等しい状態であることを表す表現は、厳密に等しい状態を表すのみならず、公差、若しくは、同じ機能が得られる程度の差が存在している状態も表すものとする。
また、本明細書において、四角形状や円筒形状等の形状を表す表現は、幾何学的に厳密な意味での四角形状や円筒形状等の形状を表すのみならず、同じ効果が得られる範囲で、凹凸部や面取り部等を含む形状も表すものとする。
また、本明細書において、一の構成要素を「備える」、「含む」、又は、「有する」という表現は、他の構成要素の存在を除外する排他的な表現ではない。
例えば、「同一」、「等しい」及び「均質」等の物事が等しい状態であることを表す表現は、厳密に等しい状態を表すのみならず、公差、若しくは、同じ機能が得られる程度の差が存在している状態も表すものとする。

- 水電解装置と、
バイオマスをガス化するように構成されたガス化炉と、
前記ガス化炉に前記バイオマスをガス化するためのガス化剤を供給するためのガス化剤供給部と、
前記ガス化炉で生成された合成ガスから燃料を生成するように構成された燃料生成部と、
前記ガス化炉から前記燃料生成部に導かれる前記合成ガスに水素を供給するための第1水素供給部と、を備え、
前記第1水素供給部は、前記水電解装置で生成された水素の少なくとも一部を前記合成ガスに供給するように構成され、
前記ガス化剤供給部は、前記水電解装置で生成された酸素を、前記ガス化剤の少なくとも一部として前記ガス化炉に供給するように構成され、
前記ガス化剤中の酸素の含有量が50体積%以上100体積%以下であり、
前記ガス化剤中の水蒸気の含有量が1体積%未満である
