Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a container made of cardboard and of thermoplastic polymer material, intended in particular to contain a cosmetic product.
  • thermoplastic polymer material for the manufacture of containers, it is known to manufacture the latter with walls made of cardboard, over which a thermoplastic polymer structure is overmoulded.
  • US 20100237068 discloses the manufacture of such a container with a cover that fits over the container.
  • the present invention achieves this by virtue, according to one of its aspects, of a container having: a pot having at least one cardboard-based side wall and a structure made of thermoplastic polymer material, this structure having a first annular wall defining the opening of the pot and an outer skirt concentric with the first annular wall and connected thereto, a closure cover configured to be fastened to the outer skirt of the pot.
  • cardboard-based means a sheet-form material having a certain quantity of paper fibres, in particular wood fibres.
  • the sheet-form material may have a multilayer or single-layer structure, with one or more films of plastics material on the outside for example, in order to improve certain properties, for example resistance to liquids or an oxygen barrier.
  • the double skirt provides enough stiffness and mechanical strength to withstand the closure of the cover and the mechanical stresses that may be encountered during transport for example, for example when the pot is subjected to a negative pressure during transport, which may typically range down to -800 mbar for example.
  • the outer skirt may have a radially outer surface having at least one helical thread.
  • the closure cover may have at least one helical thread for screwing the cover onto the outer skirt of the pot.
  • the pot may have a plurality of helical threads, allowing rapid closure of the cover, preferably in less than one turn.
  • the pot may advantageously have a plurality of reinforcing ribs connecting the first annular wall to the outer skirt, in particular between 6 and 30 ribs. These ribs radially connect the first wall to the outer skirt.
  • the ribs preferably extend axially over a distance less than a height of the outer skirt. This reduces the visibility of these ribs and may make it easier to stack the empty pots in the absence of a cover.
  • the pot may have a transverse annular wall connecting the first annular wall to the outer skirt.
  • This annular wall constitutes the bottom of the annular groove formed between the first wall and the outer skirt.
  • the reinforcing ribs are connected thereto, thereby further improving the mechanical cohesion of the upper part of the pot.
  • the transverse annular wall may be continuous or discontinuous. In the latter case, it has openings. This latter case may be advantageous for further reducing the quantity of thermoplastic polymer material used, without excessively compromising mechanical strength.
  • the first annular wall may have a portion extending above the transverse annular wall and thus form a sealing lip.
  • a sealing lip is advantageous for obtaining a good seal when the cover is screwed onto the pot. This makes it possible in particular to avoid the use of an attached seal made of elastomer.

  • the transverse annular wall and/or the sealing lip may have the same thickness as the first annular wall in its region situated under the transverse annular wall.
  • the structure made of thermoplastic polymer material preferably has a second wall situated at the base of the pot, in particular with an annular shape. This second annular wall may make it possible to improve the mechanical strength of the pot and the retention of the cardboard-based wall or walls of the pot.
