Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for producing solid biomass fuel.
- General waste includes, for example, mushroom culture media (fungal beds) used for artificial cultivation of mushrooms.
- mushroom medium fungal bed
- a medium material containing corn cob (corn cobs) as a main component is used. Since a new mushroom culture medium (fungus bed) is used each time a new mushroom cultivation is performed, there is a problem that a large amount of waste medium (waste mushroom bed) is generated after mushroom cultivation. It is conceivable to use waste culture medium (waste culture bed) as biomass fuel.
- a kneading step of obtaining a kneaded product with moldability a molding step of applying pressure to the kneaded product to obtain a molded product, and a drying step of drying the molded product.
- Patent Document 1 has a kneading step of obtaining a kneaded product with moldability by kneading using the water component contained in the mixture.
- the purpose of the kneading step is to increase the formability of the waste fungus bed by generating stickiness through kneading.
- chitosan which is a sticky component, is released, dissolves in the water near the surface of the waste fungal bed, and the sticky component elutes to the outside, resulting in favorable moldability. may not be obtained.
- problems such as a decrease in surface area of the molded product due to kneading, a decrease in drying property and combustibility, and a need for equipment costs for kneading.
- the present invention has been made in view of the above, and an object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a solid biomass fuel that achieves favorable moldability without kneading the waste mushroom bed.
- the present invention is a method for producing a solid biomass fuel using a waste fungus bed as a raw material, comprising a classification step for classifying and removing the waste fungus bed having a particle size of 5.8 mm or more, and a pressure molding step. and a method for producing a solid biomass fuel in this order.
- a drying process for drying the waste fungus bed is further provided, and the drying time in the drying process is 15 minutes or less at 20°C and a relative humidity of 30% when the drying method in the drying process is air drying.
- the present invention can provide a method for producing solid biomass fuel that provides favorable moldability without kneading the waste mushroom bed.
- the method for producing solid biomass fuel according to the present embodiment uses a waste mushroom bed as a main raw material.
- the waste mushroom bed is generated as a waste product during artificial cultivation of mushrooms such as shiitake, oyster mushroom, maitake, king oyster mushroom, and shimeji mushroom.
- the waste mushroom bed contains corn cobs (corn cobs), and in addition to the above, may contain rice bran, crushed wood, sawdust, mushrooms, and the like.
- the waste fungus bed is discharged in a state containing a large amount of water, for example, with a water content of about 50% to 70%.
- the solid biomass fuel according to the present embodiment can obtain favorable moldability even when the moisture content of the waste fungus bed as a raw material is about 60% to 70%.
- the method for producing solid biomass fuel according to the present embodiment includes, in this order, a classification step of classifying and removing waste mushroom beds having a particle size of 5.8 mm or more, and a pressure molding step. Further, after the pressure molding process, at least one of a drying process and a water absorbing additive adding process of adding a water absorbing additive may be included.
- the classification step is a step of classifying and removing waste mushroom beds having a particle size of 5.8 mm or more.
- the corn cob contained in the waste fungus bed occupies a large proportion of the waste fungus bed in terms of volume, and since the water content is almost saturated, the affinity with other materials is reduced, especially with a particle size of 5.
- the corn cob with a large particle size of 0.8 mm or more was one of the factors that deteriorated the moldability. For example, during molding of the waste fungus bed, the water-insoluble viscous component of the waste fungus bed puts the entire waste fungus bed into a compacted state and reduces its elasticity.
- the main purpose of the classification step is to improve the formability of the waste fungus bed by removing the large-sized corn cobs from the waste fungus bed. By providing the classification process, the kneading process can be omitted. From the above point of view, it is more preferable to classify and remove the waste mushroom bed having a particle size of more than 2.9 mm in the classification step.
- the large particle size corn cob separated in the above classification process can be used as a solid biomass fuel or a material thereof by separately adding a water-absorbing additive, which will be described later.
- sieving classification using a sieve or dry or wet classification using gravity, inertial force, centrifugal force, etc. can be used. Among these, it is preferable to use sieving classification because classification can be easily performed.
- the pressure molding step is a step of pressurizing the waste mushroom bed that has undergone the classification step and molding it into pellets.
- the pressure molding step includes, for example, a step of filling a mold having a predetermined size and shape with the waste mushroom bed and pressing the mold.
- the pressure molding process may be a process using a granulator other than the above.
- the force during pressurization can be, for example, 2 MPa or less.
- the drying step is a step of drying the molded waste fungus bed.
- the drying step dries the surface of the formed waste fungus bed, and can improve the durability of the obtained solid biomass fuel.
- the method for producing solid biomass fuel according to the present embodiment uses a waste fungus bed from which large-sized corn cobs whose water content is almost saturated in the classification process are removed, so that the drying time in the drying process can be reduced. can be done.
- the drying method in the drying step is not particularly limited, but examples thereof include blow drying using a fan or the like, heat drying using a heater or the like, and a combination of the above.
- the drying time in the drying step is preferably short from the viewpoint of cost reduction. When the drying method is air drying, the drying time can be, for example, 15 minutes or less under the conditions of 20° C. and 30% relative humidity. The drying time may be greater than 15 minutes, for example 1 hour.
- the water-absorbing additive addition step is a step of adding the water-absorbing additive so that the mass ratio to the waste fungus bed is, for example, in the range of 1/2 to 1/20. Thereby, the moldability and durability of the produced solid biomass fuel can be made favorable.
- the mass ratio is preferably in the range of 1/4 to 1/20, more preferably in the range of 1/8 to 1/20.
- the water-absorbing additive addition step may be one in which the water-absorbing additive is mixed with the waste mushroom bed that has undergone the classification step, or the water-absorbing additive is uniformly applied to the surface of the waste mushroom bed that has undergone the pressure molding step. It may be something to be attached.
- the step of adding a water-absorbing additive may be provided as a step of mixing the water-absorbing additive with the waste mushroom bed that has undergone the classification step, and may also be provided after the pressure molding step. In this case, it is preferable that the total mass of the added water-absorbing additives satisfies the condition of mass ratio to the waste fungus bed.
- the moisture content of the mixture of the waste fungus bed and the water-absorbing additive is reduced to, for example, 40-60% by the water-absorbing additive addition process. As a result, the moldability of the produced solid biomass fuel is improved, and the durability of the solid biomass fuel can be ensured. More preferably, the water content of the mixture of the waste fungus bed and the water absorbing additive is 45 to 55%.
- the water-absorbing additive used in the water-absorbing additive adding process is not particularly limited, but it is preferable to use pulverized rice husks.
- Rice husks have a low moisture content of about 5 to 15%, and are presumed to play a role of a binder that develops affinity between the corn cobs contained in the waste mushroom bed and other materials.
- pulverized rice husks are generated as a waste product, and when mixed with a waste fungus bed to produce a solid biomass fuel, all of the raw materials can be used as organic resources of biological origin.
- Pulverized rice husks are produced by pulverizing rice husks. Pulverization of rice husks increases the surface area, increases the water absorption and retention capacity, and reduces the volume. It has the advantage of being able to improve the calorific value of biomass fuel.
- the water-absorbing additive in addition to the above, organic resources such as sawdust, crushed wood, and wood chips, or water-absorbing materials composed of water-absorbing resin, etc. may be used.
- the water-absorbing additive may be used singly or in combination of two or more. From the standpoint of moldability, the water-absorbing additive is preferably pulverized to a size smaller than a predetermined size.
- the solid biomass fuel production method according to the present embodiment may include steps other than those described above as long as the effects of the present invention are not impaired. Moreover, the method for producing a solid biomass fuel according to the present embodiment does not have a step of kneading the waste mushroom bed. By not including the step of kneading the waste fungus bed, it is possible to suppress the decrease in the surface area of the compact due to kneading, and to make the dryness and combustibility of the produced solid biomass fuel favorable. In addition, it is possible to reduce equipment costs and labor required for kneading.
- Example 1 The waste mushroom bed was classified using a sieve with an opening of 2.9 mm, and using the waste mushroom bed from which corn cobs with a particle size exceeding 2.9 mm were removed, a solid biomass fuel was produced by the following procedure. First, a vinyl chloride tube having an inner diameter of 16 mm and a height of 20 mm was used as a formwork, and the waste fungus bed after the classification was filled to such an extent that it was not compressed. Next, it was compressed while discharging an arbitrary amount of water from the upper part of the mold by finger pressure to produce a compact. The molded body was observed and evaluated for moldability, which will be described later.
- the compact had a bulk density of 0.80 g/cm 3 before compression and a compressibility of 0.66 after compression.
- the compressibility means a numerical value calculated from the rate of change in height of the waste fungus bed filled in the mold before and after compression.
- the compact was dried by air blowing for 15 minutes (at a temperature of 20° C. and a humidity of 30%) to prepare a solid biomass fuel according to Example 1.
- the moisture content of the waste mushroom bed before molding, after molding, and after drying was measured using a moisture meter MOC63u (manufactured by Shimadzu Corporation). Table 1 shows the results.
- Weight reduction rate (weight immediately before drop test - weight immediately after drop test) / weight immediately before drop test * 100 (1)
- Example 5 A solid biomass fuel according to Example 5 was prepared by the following procedure. The waste fungus bed was classified using a sieve with an opening of 2.9 mm, and the waste fungus bed from which corn cobs with a particle size exceeding 2.9 mm were removed was used. A vinyl chloride tube having an inner diameter of 20 mm was used as a formwork, and the waste fungus bed after the classification was filled to such an extent that it was not compressed. Next, it was compressed while discharging an arbitrary amount of water from the upper part of the mold by finger pressure to produce a compact.
- the formed body is dried by blowing air, and the weight and water content before drying (initial), after drying for 1 hour, after drying for 3 hours, and after drying for 5 hours are measured to obtain the total weight after drying and the amount of water loss after drying.
- the moisture content of the waste fungus bed was measured using a moisture meter MOC63u (manufactured by Shimadzu Corporation). Table 2 shows the results.
- Comparative Examples 5 to 8 In Comparative Examples 5 to 8, unclassified waste mushroom beds were used as raw materials. In Comparative Examples 5 and 6, the waste fungus bed was kneaded by fingers for several tens of seconds to several minutes. In the same manner as in Example 5 except for the above, the total post-drying weight and post-drying water loss after drying for the time shown in Table 2 were determined. Table 2 shows the results.
- the solid biomass fuel according to Example 5 has more water content reduced in a short time than the solid biomass fuel according to each comparative example, resulting in favorable drying properties. was confirmed.
