べたつきやのびの悪さの原因となる界面活性剤や高級アルコールを多く配合することなく、十分な粘度及び安定性を備えたαゲル構造を有する皮膚外用剤を提供することを目的とする。本発明に係る皮膚外用剤は、 (A)水、 (B)水溶性有機溶媒、 (C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸、 (D)一般式R-OH(Rは炭素数16以上のアルキル基)で表される高級アルコール、及び (E)界面活性剤を含有し、 αゲル構造を有することを特徴とする。
Description
本発明は、αゲル構造を有する皮膚外用剤に関する。より詳しくは、12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸を含むことにより、界面活性剤や高級アルコールの配合量が少なくても十分な粘度と安定を有し、べたつかず滑らかに伸び広げることが可能な、αゲル構造を有する皮膚外用剤に関する。
従来より、化粧品、医薬部外品、医薬品などの皮膚外用剤の乳化安定性を保つ目的でαゲル含有皮膚外用剤が用いられてきた。αゲルとは、炭素数16以上の直鎖状高級アルコール(又は未中和の高級脂肪酸)と、親水性界面活性剤が、水との共存下で形成するラメラ状の2分子膜からなる会合体のことである。高級アルコールと界面活性剤は、この2分子膜内で3:1の分子比で規則正しく配置(具体的には、高級アルコールの親水基が六角形の角に、界面活性剤の親水基が六角形の中心に位置するように配置)し、六方晶系を形成している。このαゲル特有のネットワーク構造により、αゲルは高い増粘効果や安定化効果を有する。
しかしながら、αゲルといえども完全に安定な状態ではないため、経時的に安定性や粘度が変化し、高級アルコールが結晶として析出することがある。そして、αゲルにより十分な安定性や粘度を実現しようとすれば比較的多量の界面活性剤や高級アルコールが必要となり、それによって、皮膚に塗布した時にのびが重くなったり、べたついたりするなど、使用感の悪さを生じる場合があった。
そこで、界面活性剤や高級アルコールの高配合に依らずに使用性や安定性を改善する試みがなされている。例えば、特許文献1には、(A)HLBが14.0~20.0であり、ポリオキシエチレン鎖を有するノニオン性界面活性剤、(B)リン脂質、(C)炭素数12~22の脂肪族アルコール、(D)ジプロピレングリコールおよび/またはプロピレングリコール、(E)IOBが0.2~0.5であり、炭化水素油、エステル油、シリコーン油および植物油からなる群より選択される少なくとも1種類の油分、および、(F)水を、所定の配合量および比率にて含有するαゲル製剤が開示されている。
しかし、このαゲル製剤では、αゲルを安定化するために、HLBの比較的高い界面活性剤を配合して2分子膜形成成分が水相側に分配されやすくしたり、ジプロピレングリコールおよび/またはプロピレングリコールを配合して水相の極性を調節したりする必要があるなど、配合成分のバランスが求められるため処方上の制限が大きい。
本発明は、前記実情に鑑みてなされたものであり、べたつきやのびの悪さの原因となる界面活性剤や高級アルコールを多く配合することなく、十分な粘度及び安定性を備えたαゲル構造を有する皮膚外用剤を提供することを目的とする。
本発明者らは上記の課題を解決すべく鋭意研究を行った結果、12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸を配合することにより、界面活性剤や高級アルコールを多配合しなくても十分な粘度及び安定性が得られることを見出し、本発明を完成するに至った。
すなわち、本発明は、
(A)水、
(B)水溶性有機溶媒、
(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸、
(D)一般式R-OH(Rは炭素数16以上のアルキル基)で表される高級アルコール、及び
(E)界面活性剤を含有し、
αゲル構造を有する皮膚外用剤を要旨とするものである。

本発明に係る皮膚外用剤は、上記構成とすることにより、べたつきやのびの悪さの原因となる界面活性剤や高級アルコールを多く配合しなくても、十分な粘度及び安定性を備えたαゲル構造を有する皮膚外用剤を実現することができる。これは、12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸がαゲルの2分子膜に楔のように入り込み、物理的に2分子膜の構造を支えることによるものと考えられる。
また、本発明に係る皮膚外用剤は、12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸が物理的に構造を支えているため、配合成分の極性や電荷などがαゲルの安定性に及ぼす影響が小さく、幅広い処方をカバーすることができる。

本発明の皮膚外用剤は、(A)水、(B)水溶性有機溶媒、(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸、(D)高級アルコール、及び(E)界面活性剤を含有する。以下に詳しく説明する。
なお、以下において、ポリオキシエチレンを「POE」、ポリオキシプロピレンを「POP」、ポリエチレングリコールを「PEG」と略記する場合がある。

<(A)水>
本発明に配合される(A)水(以下、「(A)成分」と称する場合がある)は、特に限定されず、精製水、イオン交換水、蒸留水等を使用することができる。

(A)水の配合量は、特に限定されないが、皮膚外用剤の全量に対して40~95質量%が好ましく、60~90質量%がより好ましい。配合量が40質量%未満では塗布した時の伸びが悪くなる場合があり、配合量が95質量%を超えると安定性が低下する場合がある。
<(B)水溶性有機溶媒>
本発明に配合される(B)水溶性有機溶媒(以下、「(B)成分」と称する場合がある)は、(C)界面活性剤の会合状態に影響を与え、(C)界面活性剤の疎水部への(D)高級アルコールおよび(E)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸の可溶化量を増大することができる。
(B)水溶性有機溶媒のIOB(Inorganicity Organicity Balance)は1.0~4.0の範囲が好ましく、1.5~3.5の範囲がより好ましい。IOBとは、物質の無機性値(Inorganicity)を有機性値(Organicity)で除した値である。IOBは、例えば、甲田善生「有機概念図 基礎と応用」、三共出版、1984年、11~17頁の記載を参照して求めることができる。(B)水溶性有機溶媒として、複数種類を用いる場合は、各成分のIOBの加重平均が上記数値範囲であればよい。
本発明に配合される(B)水溶性有機溶媒(以下、「(B)成分」と称する場合がある)は、(C)界面活性剤の会合状態に影響を与え、(C)界面活性剤の疎水部への(D)高級アルコールおよび(E)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸の可溶化量を増大することができる。

(B)水溶性有機溶媒は、上記IOBを満たすもののうち、低級アルコール、多価アルコール、ブロック型アルキレンオキシド誘導体を使用するのが好ましい。
低級アルコールとしては、エタノール(IOB=2.50)、プロパノール(IOB=1.67)、ブタノール(IOB=1.25)等を挙げることができる。
多価アルコールとしては、ジプロピレングリコール(IOB=1.80)、1,2-ペンタンジオール(ペンチレングリコール)(IOB=2.00)、イソプレングリコール(IOB=2.20)、1、3-ブチレングリコール(IOB=2.50)、1、4-ブチレングリコール(IOB=2.50)、平均分子量300以下のポリエチレングリコール(例として、IOB=2.92のPEG-200)、プロピレングリコール(IOB=3.33)等から選択される1種または2種以上が好適である。
低級アルコールとしては、エタノール(IOB=2.50)、プロパノール(IOB=1.67)、ブタノール(IOB=1.25)等を挙げることができる。
多価アルコールとしては、ジプロピレングリコール(IOB=1.80)、1,2-ペンタンジオール(ペンチレングリコール)(IOB=2.00)、イソプレングリコール(IOB=2.20)、1、3-ブチレングリコール(IOB=2.50)、1、4-ブチレングリコール(IOB=2.50)、平均分子量300以下のポリエチレングリコール(例として、IOB=2.92のPEG-200)、プロピレングリコール(IOB=3.33)等から選択される1種または2種以上が好適である。
また、ブロック型アルキレンオキシド誘導体としては、POE(9)POP(2)ジメチルエーテル(IOB=1.62)、POE(14)POP(7)ジメチルエーテル(IOB=1.52)、POE(7)POP(14)ジメチルエーテル(IOB=1.04)、POE(17)POP(4)ジメチルエーテル(IOB=1.64)等(POE、POPの後ろのカッコ内の数字は、それぞれの付加モル数を表す)の、ポリオキシエチレン、ポリオキシプロピレンのランダムまたはブロック共重合体のジメチルエーテル(本明細書において単に「POE/POPジメチルエーテル」と表記する場合がある)を挙げることができる。
特に好ましい(B)水溶性有機溶媒としては、ジプロピレングリコール、1,3-ブチレングリコール、ペンチレングリコール、POE/POPジメチルエーテル、及び、ポリエチレングリコールからなる群から選択される1種以上である。これらは単独で用いてもよく、2種以上を併用してもよい。
(B)水溶性有機溶媒の配合量は、特に限定されないが、皮膚外用剤の全量に対して3 ~30質量%が好ましく、5~15質量%がより好ましい。配合量が3質量%未満では(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸がαゲル中に組み込まれず析出する場合があり、一方で配合量が30質量%を超えると(B)水溶性有機溶媒がαゲルの形成を阻害し安定性が悪くなる場合がある。
<(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸>
本発明に配合される(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸(以下、「(C)成分」と称する場合がある)は、リシノール酸に水素添加したものであり、12位の炭素に不斉水酸基を有する飽和脂肪酸である。ヒマシ油を水素添加して得られる水添ヒマシ油を加水分解する、あるいは、ヒマシ油を加水分解することにより得られるヒマシ油脂肪酸に水素添加することによっても得られる。
本発明に配合される(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸(以下、「(C)成分」と称する場合がある)は、リシノール酸に水素添加したものであり、12位の炭素に不斉水酸基を有する飽和脂肪酸である。ヒマシ油を水素添加して得られる水添ヒマシ油を加水分解する、あるいは、ヒマシ油を加水分解することにより得られるヒマシ油脂肪酸に水素添加することによっても得られる。
(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸は、本発明の皮膚外用剤をゲル化し、十分な粘度と安定性を付与するが、一般的な増粘剤と違ってぬめりやべたつきを生じることがない。これは、αゲルの2分子膜に(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸が楔のように入り込んで2分子膜そのものの構造を物理的に支えたり、隣接する2分子膜同士を連結させたりするからであると考えられる。実際に、本発明に係る皮膚外用剤のαゲルを電子顕微鏡で観察すると、ネットワーク構造のフレームが厚くなっていることが確認できる。
(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸の配合量は、皮膚外用剤の全量に対して0.5~5質量%が好ましく、0.5~3質量%がより好ましい。配合量が0.5質量%未満では十分な粘度や安定性の高いαゲルが得られない場合があり、配合量が5質量%を超えると塗布中の伸びの良さが損なわれる場合がある。
<(D)高級アルコール>
本発明に配合される(D)高級アルコール(以下、「(D)成分」と称する場合がある)は、一般式R-OH(Rは炭素数16以上のアルキル基)で表される。
(D)高級アルコールは、後述する(E)界面活性剤とともに水中でαゲルを形成し得るものであって通常皮膚外用剤に使用されるものであれば特に限定されない。(D)高級アルコールの例としては、セチルアルコール(セタノール)、セトステアリルアルコール、ステアリルアルコール、アラキルアルコール、ベヘニルアルコール、オレイルアルコール、ホホバアルコール、キミルアルコール、バチルアルコール等が挙げられる。また、水添ナタネ油アルコール(主成分はステアリルアルコール、アラキルアルコール、及びベヘニルアルコール)を用いてもよい。なかでも、セタノール、セトステアリルアルコール、ステアリルアルコール、及び、べへニルアルコールからなる群から選択される1種以上であることが好ましい。
本発明に配合される(D)高級アルコール(以下、「(D)成分」と称する場合がある)は、一般式R-OH(Rは炭素数16以上のアルキル基)で表される。
(D)高級アルコールは、後述する(E)界面活性剤とともに水中でαゲルを形成し得るものであって通常皮膚外用剤に使用されるものであれば特に限定されない。(D)高級アルコールの例としては、セチルアルコール(セタノール)、セトステアリルアルコール、ステアリルアルコール、アラキルアルコール、ベヘニルアルコール、オレイルアルコール、ホホバアルコール、キミルアルコール、バチルアルコール等が挙げられる。また、水添ナタネ油アルコール(主成分はステアリルアルコール、アラキルアルコール、及びベヘニルアルコール)を用いてもよい。なかでも、セタノール、セトステアリルアルコール、ステアリルアルコール、及び、べへニルアルコールからなる群から選択される1種以上であることが好ましい。
(D)高級アルコールの配合量は、皮膚外用剤の全量に対して0.5~9質量%が好ましく、0.5~5質量%がより好ましい。配合量が0.5質量%未満では安定なαゲルが得られない場合があり、配合量が9質量%を超えると塗布中の伸びが悪くなる場合がある。
<(E)界面活性剤>
本発明に配合される(E)界面活性剤(以下、「(E)成分」と称する場合がある)は、通常皮膚外用剤に使用されるものであれば特に限定されることはなく、例えば、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテル、N-アルキルメチルタウリンナトリウム、ポリオキシエチレンフィトステロール、ポリオキシエチレン硬化ヒマシ油、ポリオキシエチレン脂肪酸エステル、ポリオキシエチレン脂肪酸グリセリル、アルキルグルタミン酸塩、アルキルトリメチルアンモニウム塩、ジアルキルジメチルアンモニウム塩、及び、脂肪酸石鹸からなる群から選択される1種以上であることが好ましい。
本発明に配合される(E)界面活性剤(以下、「(E)成分」と称する場合がある)は、通常皮膚外用剤に使用されるものであれば特に限定されることはなく、例えば、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテル、N-アルキルメチルタウリンナトリウム、ポリオキシエチレンフィトステロール、ポリオキシエチレン硬化ヒマシ油、ポリオキシエチレン脂肪酸エステル、ポリオキシエチレン脂肪酸グリセリル、アルキルグルタミン酸塩、アルキルトリメチルアンモニウム塩、ジアルキルジメチルアンモニウム塩、及び、脂肪酸石鹸からなる群から選択される1種以上であることが好ましい。
より具体的には、POEラウリルエーテル、POEオレイルエーテル、POEステアリルエーテル、POEベヘニルエーテル、POE-2-オクチルドデシルエーテル等のポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテル;
N-パルミトイル-N-メチルタウリンナトリウム、N-ステアロイル-N-メチルタウリンナトリウム等のN-アルキルメチルタウリンナトリウム;
POE(5)フィトステロール、POE(10)フィトステロール、POE(20)フィトステロール、POE(25)フィトステロール及びPOE(30)フィトステロール等のポリオキシエチレンフィトステロール;

(E)界面活性剤の配合量は、特に限定されないが、皮膚外用剤の全量に対して0.5~10質量%が好ましく、0.5~5質量%がより好ましい。配合量が0.5質量%未満では 安定なαゲルが得られない場合があり、配合量が10質量%を超えると塗布後のべたつきが生じる場合がある。
<(C)+(D)合計配合量>
皮膚外用剤全量に占める(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸及び(D)高級アルコールの合計配合量は、1.5~10質量%であることが好ましく、2~5質量%であることがより好ましい。(C)+(D)合計配合量がこの範囲内にあれば、十分な粘度と安定性をもつαゲルを形成できるため好ましい。
皮膚外用剤全量に占める(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸及び(D)高級アルコールの合計配合量は、1.5~10質量%であることが好ましく、2~5質量%であることがより好ましい。(C)+(D)合計配合量がこの範囲内にあれば、十分な粘度と安定性をもつαゲルを形成できるため好ましい。
<(C)/(D)重量比>
また、(D)高級アルコールに対する(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸の重量比は0.05~29であることが好ましく、0.1~6であることがより好ましい。(C)/(D)重量比がこの範囲内にあれば、十分な粘度と安定性をもち、塗布時の伸び広がりに優れるαゲルを形成できるため好ましい。
また、(D)高級アルコールに対する(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸の重量比は0.05~29であることが好ましく、0.1~6であることがより好ましい。(C)/(D)重量比がこの範囲内にあれば、十分な粘度と安定性をもち、塗布時の伸び広がりに優れるαゲルを形成できるため好ましい。
<(D)+(E)合計配合量>
皮膚外用剤全量に占める(D)高級アルコール及び(E)界面活性剤の合計配合量は、1.5~10質量%であることが好ましく、1.5~7質量%であることがより好ましい。(D)+(E)合計配合量がこの範囲内にあれば、安定なαゲルを形成できるため好ましい。

さらに、(E)界面活性剤に対する(D)高級アルコールのモル比は1/1~10/1であることが好ましく、1/1~5/1であることがより好ましい。(D)/(E)モル比がこの範囲内にあれば、αゲルを効率良く形成し、かつ、十分な安定性を実現できるため好ましい。

<任意配合成分>
本発明の皮膚外用剤には、上記(A)~(E)成分以外に、本発明の効果を妨げない範囲で、皮膚外用剤に通常用いられる成分を配合することができる。例えば、油分、塩型薬剤のほか、保湿剤、キレート剤、防腐剤、酸化防止剤、粉体、香料、色剤、色素等を必要に応じて適宜配合することができる。
本発明の皮膚外用剤には、上記(A)~(E)成分以外に、本発明の効果を妨げない範囲で、皮膚外用剤に通常用いられる成分を配合することができる。例えば、油分、塩型薬剤のほか、保湿剤、キレート剤、防腐剤、酸化防止剤、粉体、香料、色剤、色素等を必要に応じて適宜配合することができる。
油分は、常温で固形であるか液状であるかによらず、皮膚外用剤に一般的に用いられるものを配合することができる。
固形油分としては、例えば、カカオ脂、ヤシ油、硬化ヤシ油、パーム油、パーム核油、モクロウ、硬化ヒマシ油等の固体油脂;ミツロウ、キャンデリラロウ、綿ロウ、カルナウバロウ、ベイベリーロウ、イボタロウ、鯨ロウ、モンタンロウ、ヌカロウ、ラノリン、カポックロウ、酢酸ラノリン、サトウキビロウ、ラノリン脂肪酸イソプロピル、ラウリン酸ヘキシル、還元ラノリン、硬質ラノリン、セラックロウ、POEラノリンアルコールエーテル、POEラノリンアルコールアセテート、POEコレステロールエーテル、POE水素添加ラノリンアルコールエーテル等のロウ類;ポリエチレンワックス、パラフィンワックス、セレシン、ワセリン、マイクロクリスタリンワックス、オゾケライト等の炭化水素系ワックス等が挙げられる。
固形油分としては、例えば、カカオ脂、ヤシ油、硬化ヤシ油、パーム油、パーム核油、モクロウ、硬化ヒマシ油等の固体油脂;ミツロウ、キャンデリラロウ、綿ロウ、カルナウバロウ、ベイベリーロウ、イボタロウ、鯨ロウ、モンタンロウ、ヌカロウ、ラノリン、カポックロウ、酢酸ラノリン、サトウキビロウ、ラノリン脂肪酸イソプロピル、ラウリン酸ヘキシル、還元ラノリン、硬質ラノリン、セラックロウ、POEラノリンアルコールエーテル、POEラノリンアルコールアセテート、POEコレステロールエーテル、POE水素添加ラノリンアルコールエーテル等のロウ類;ポリエチレンワックス、パラフィンワックス、セレシン、ワセリン、マイクロクリスタリンワックス、オゾケライト等の炭化水素系ワックス等が挙げられる。
液状油分としては、例えば、アボカド油、月見草油、ツバキ油、タートル油、マカデミアナッツ油、ヒマワリ油、アーモンド油、トウモロコシ油、ミンク油、オリーブ油、ナタネ油、ゴマ油、小麦胚芽油、サザンカ油、ヒマシ油、アマニ油、サフラワー油、綿実油、大豆油、落花生油、茶実油、カヤ油、コメヌカ油、ホホバ油、胚芽油等の液体油脂;オクタン酸セチル、セチル2-エチルヘキサノエート、ジメチルオクタン酸ヘキシルデシル、エチルラウレート、ラウリン酸ヘキシル、ミリスチン酸イソプロピル、ミリスチン酸2-ヘキシルデシル、ミリスチン酸ミリスチル、ミリスチン酸オクチルドデシル、パルミチン酸イソプロピル、2-エチルヘキシルパルミテート、パルミチン酸2-ヘキシルデシル、パルミチン酸2-ヘプチルウンデシル、ステアリン酸ブチル、ステアリン酸イソセチル、イソステアリン酸イソセチル、オレイン酸デシル、ドデシルオレエート、オレイン酸オレイル、乳酸ミリスチル、乳酸セチル、リンゴ酸ジイソステアリル、12-ヒドロキシステアリル酸コレステリル、ヒマシ油脂肪酸メチルエステル、N-ラウロイル-L-グルタミン酸-2-オクチルドデシルエステル、コハク酸2-エチルヘキシル、アジピン酸ジイソブチル、アジピン酸2-ヘキシルデシル、アジピン酸ジ-2-ヘプチルウンデシル、セバシン酸ジイソプロピル、セバチン酸ジ-2-エチルヘキシル、ジ-2-エチルヘキサン酸エチレングリコール、ジカプリン酸ネオペンチルグリコール、ジオクタン酸ネオペンチルグリコール、アセトグリセライド、ジ-2-ヘプチルウンデカン酸グリセリン、トリオクタン酸グリセリン、トリ-2-エチルヘキサン酸グリセリン、トリミリスチン酸グリセリン、トリイソパルミチン酸グリセリン、トリ-2-ヘプチルウンデカン酸グリセライド、トリ-2-エチルヘキサン酸トリメチロールプロパン、トリイソステアリン酸トリメチロールプロパン、テトラオクタン酸ペンタエリスリトール、テトラ-2-エチルヘキサン酸ペンタエリスリトール等のエステル油;流動パラフィン、スクワレン、ポリブテン等の炭化水素油;オレイン酸、リノール酸、リノレン酸などの不飽和脂肪酸;イソステアリン酸、イソパルミチン酸、イソミリスチン酸等の分岐脂肪酸;ジメチルポリシロキサン、メチルフェニルポリシロキサン、ジフェニルポリシロキサン等の鎖状ポリシロキサン、オクタメチルシクロテトラシロキサン、デカメチルシクロペンタシロキサン、ドデカメチルシクロヘキサンシロキサン等の環状ポリシロキサン、アミノ変性ポリシロキサン、ポリエーテル変性ポリシロキサン、アルキル変性ポリシロキサン、フッ素変性ポリシロキサン等の各種変性ポリシロキサン等のシリコーン油が挙げられる。
特に、皮膚に対する有効成分として、また使用感触をべたつかず肌の上でのびを良好にする目的で、極性油(エステル油)を配合することが好適である。一般的なαゲル含有皮膚外用剤では極性油の配合によって高温下で粘度の低下現象が起こる傾向があり、その配合を制限しなければならないことがある。本発明に係る皮膚外用剤は、12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸が物理的にαゲルの構造を支えているため、極性油であっても安定性を損なわずに配合できる。
塩型薬剤は、塩を形成可能な水溶性の薬剤を意味し、皮膚外用剤に通常配合されうる水溶性薬剤であれば特に限定されない。一般的なαゲル含有皮膚外用剤では、電解質からなる塩型薬剤の配合により、その経時および温度変化に対する安定性が低下する問題がある。本発明に係る皮膚外用剤は、12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸が物理的にαゲルの構造を支えているため、安定性を損なわずに各種の塩型薬剤を配合できる。
塩型薬剤としては、皮膚外用剤に一般的に用いられるものを配合することができ、例えば、L-アスコルビン酸およびその誘導体の塩、トラネキサム酸およびその誘導体の塩、アルコキシサリチル酸およびその誘導体の塩、グルタチオンおよびその誘導体の塩などが好ましい例として挙げられる。
塩型薬剤としては、皮膚外用剤に一般的に用いられるものを配合することができ、例えば、L-アスコルビン酸およびその誘導体の塩、トラネキサム酸およびその誘導体の塩、アルコキシサリチル酸およびその誘導体の塩、グルタチオンおよびその誘導体の塩などが好ましい例として挙げられる。
<αゲル構造>
αゲルの形成は、2分子膜構造を偏光顕微鏡により観察すること、X線回析によりαゲルを示唆するピークの有無を調べること、DSC(示査走査型熱量測定)により発熱ピークの有無を調べること、走査型電子顕微鏡による観察等により確認することができる。

<粘度>
本発明の皮膚外用剤は、30℃における粘度(B型粘度計)が8000mPa・s以上であり、好ましくは10000mPa・s以上、より好ましくは15000mPa・s以上である。なお粘度の上限は特に限定されるものでないが、あまり高粘度過ぎると使用性が劣ることから、100000mPa・s(30℃)以下とするのが好ましい。
このような粘度条件を満たすことにより、適度なゲル状もしくは固体状となり、安定性と使用性(べたつきの無さ、のびの良さ)に優れた皮膚外用剤とすることができる。
本発明の皮膚外用剤は、30℃における粘度(B型粘度計)が8000mPa・s以上であり、好ましくは10000mPa・s以上、より好ましくは15000mPa・s以上である。なお粘度の上限は特に限定されるものでないが、あまり高粘度過ぎると使用性が劣ることから、100000mPa・s(30℃)以下とするのが好ましい。
このような粘度条件を満たすことにより、適度なゲル状もしくは固体状となり、安定性と使用性(べたつきの無さ、のびの良さ)に優れた皮膚外用剤とすることができる。
<製法>
αゲルを含有する皮膚外用剤の製法としては、界面活性剤および高級アルコールを高温下で溶解し、水と混合した後に冷却するか、高級アルコールを高温で融解し、界面活性剤を溶解した水と混合した後に冷却するのが一般的である。
しかし、本発明の皮膚外用剤に配合される(A)~(E)成分を単純に加熱混合・冷却した場合、(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸の結晶が析出して分離を生じてしまうか、あるいは、見た目に分離は見られなくても水相中でのネットワーク形成ができていないために適切な粘度が得られないことがある。
αゲルを含有する皮膚外用剤の製法としては、界面活性剤および高級アルコールを高温下で溶解し、水と混合した後に冷却するか、高級アルコールを高温で融解し、界面活性剤を溶解した水と混合した後に冷却するのが一般的である。
しかし、本発明の皮膚外用剤に配合される(A)~(E)成分を単純に加熱混合・冷却した場合、(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸の結晶が析出して分離を生じてしまうか、あるいは、見た目に分離は見られなくても水相中でのネットワーク形成ができていないために適切な粘度が得られないことがある。
(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸をαゲルの2分子膜に組み込み、適度な粘度及び安定性を有するαゲル構造を形成するには、先ず(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸を(E)界面活性剤の疎水部に可溶化させ、その後に(A)水と混合し、冷却する必要がある。
具体的な製造方法としては、以下の工程(i)~(iii):
(i)(B)水溶性有機溶媒、(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸、(D)一般式R-OH(Rは炭素数16以上のアルキル基)で表される高級アルコール、及び、(E)界面活性剤を60~90℃まで加熱して均一溶解させて中間組成物を調製する工程、
(ii)(A)水を含む50~75℃に加熱した水性媒体に工程(i)で得られた中間組成物を攪拌しながら添加して混合物を調製する工程、あるいは、(A)水を含む50~75℃に加熱した水性媒体を工程(i)で得られた中間組成物に攪拌しながら添加して混合物を調製する工程、及び
(iii)工程(ii)で得られた混合物を室温まで冷却する工程
を含むことが好ましい。
具体的な製造方法としては、以下の工程(i)~(iii):
(i)(B)水溶性有機溶媒、(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸、(D)一般式R-OH(Rは炭素数16以上のアルキル基)で表される高級アルコール、及び、(E)界面活性剤を60~90℃まで加熱して均一溶解させて中間組成物を調製する工程、
(ii)(A)水を含む50~75℃に加熱した水性媒体に工程(i)で得られた中間組成物を攪拌しながら添加して混合物を調製する工程、あるいは、(A)水を含む50~75℃に加熱した水性媒体を工程(i)で得られた中間組成物に攪拌しながら添加して混合物を調製する工程、及び
(iii)工程(ii)で得られた混合物を室温まで冷却する工程
を含むことが好ましい。
<用途>
本発明の皮膚外用剤は、主に保湿クリーム、マッサージクリーム、クレンジングクリーム、エッセンス等のスキンケア化粧料として使用できるほか、ヘアクリーム等のヘアケア化粧料、サンスクリーン、ボディクリーム等のボデイケア化粧料、ゲル状ファンデーション等のメイクアップ化粧料など様々な化粧料にも利用することができる。
本発明の皮膚外用剤は、主に保湿クリーム、マッサージクリーム、クレンジングクリーム、エッセンス等のスキンケア化粧料として使用できるほか、ヘアクリーム等のヘアケア化粧料、サンスクリーン、ボディクリーム等のボデイケア化粧料、ゲル状ファンデーション等のメイクアップ化粧料など様々な化粧料にも利用することができる。
以下に実施例を挙げて本発明をさらに詳述するが、本発明はこれらにより何ら限定されるものではない。配合量は特記しない限り、その成分が配合される系に対する質量%で示す。各実施例について具体的に説明する前に、採用した評価方法について説明する。
(1)粘度
調製した皮膚外用剤を30℃で30分以上保持した後の粘度を、B型粘度計を用いて、ローターNo.7、回転数10rpm、1分間の条件で測定した。

(2)安定性
調製した皮膚外用剤を50℃、1ヶ月保存し、保存後の粘度変化(B型粘度計、30℃)を調べ、粘度変化率([保存後の試料の粘度]/[調製直後の試料の粘度])を算出し、以下の基準に沿って評価した。
[安定性の評価基準]
A:粘度変化率が0.9以上1.1未満
B:粘度変化率が0.7以上0.9未満、または1.1以上1.3未満
C:粘度変化率が0.5以上0.7未満、または1.3以上1.5未満
D:粘度変化率が0.5未満、または1.5以上
調製した皮膚外用剤を50℃、1ヶ月保存し、保存後の粘度変化(B型粘度計、30℃)を調べ、粘度変化率([保存後の試料の粘度]/[調製直後の試料の粘度])を算出し、以下の基準に沿って評価した。
[安定性の評価基準]
A:粘度変化率が0.9以上1.1未満
B:粘度変化率が0.7以上0.9未満、または1.1以上1.3未満
C:粘度変化率が0.5以上0.7未満、または1.3以上1.5未満
D:粘度変化率が0.5未満、または1.5以上
(3)使用性
化粧品評価専門パネル20名に実施例及び比較例の皮膚外用剤を使用してもらい、使用性(べたつきの無さ、のびの良さ)を以下の基準に従って5段階評価し、全パネルの評点の平均点を以下の3段階の判断基準に従って判定した。

化粧品評価専門パネル20名に実施例及び比較例の皮膚外用剤を使用してもらい、使用性(べたつきの無さ、のびの良さ)を以下の基準に従って5段階評価し、全パネルの評点の平均点を以下の3段階の判断基準に従って判定した。

<実施例1~5及び比較例1~7>
下記の表1に記載の組成を有する皮膚外用剤を調製し、上記評価方法に従って粘度、安定性及び使用性を評価した。

上記表1に示されるように、(A)水、(B)水溶性有機溶媒、(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸、(D)高級アルコール、及び(E)界面活性剤を含有し、相分離や弾性化を引き起こすことなくαゲル構造を形成するものは、適度な粘度を有し、安定性と使用性に優れていた(実施例1~5)。
一方、(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸を配合しない場合や、(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸に代えて皮膚外用剤に汎用される高級脂肪酸を配合した場合には、粘度が不十分であり、安定性や使用性に劣っていた(比較例1~3、5、6)。また、(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸の配合量が過度に多いと、皮膚外用剤が結晶析出してしまい、却って安定性と使用性の両方が不十分な結果となった(比較例4)。
一方、(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸を配合しない場合や、(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸に代えて皮膚外用剤に汎用される高級脂肪酸を配合した場合には、粘度が不十分であり、安定性や使用性に劣っていた(比較例1~3、5、6)。また、(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸の配合量が過度に多いと、皮膚外用剤が結晶析出してしまい、却って安定性と使用性の両方が不十分な結果となった(比較例4)。
また、皮膚外用剤全量に占める(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸及び(D)高級アルコールの合計配合量が1.5~10質量%を外れる場合や、(D)高級アルコールに対する(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸の重量比が0.05~29から外れる場合には、粘度が低すぎて安定性や使用性が不十分であるか、相分離や結晶析出を引き起こした(比較例1~7)。
なお、比較例4、6、7は相分離又は結晶析出が確認されたため、粘度の測定を行っていない。

<実施例6~9及び比較例8~9>
下記の表2に記載の組成を有する皮膚外用剤を調製し、上記評価方法に従って粘度、安定性及び使用性を評価した。

上記表2に示されるように、IOBが1.0~4.0の範囲内である(B)水溶性有機溶媒を含有する場合には、αゲル構造を形成し、適度な粘度を有し、優れた安定性と使用性を示した(実施例6~9)。
しかし、(B)水溶性有機溶媒を配合しない場合や、(B)水溶性有機溶媒に代えてIOB=5のグリセリンを配合した場合には、結晶の析出が確認された(比較例8及び9)。
なお、比較例8及び9は結晶が析出したため、粘度の測定を行っていない。

Claims (8)
- (A)水、
(B)水溶性有機溶媒、
(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸、
(D)一般式R-OH(Rは炭素数16以上のアルキル基)で表される高級アルコール、及び
(E)界面活性剤を含有し、
αゲル構造を有する皮膚外用剤。 - 皮膚外用剤全量に占める(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸及び(D)高級アルコールの合計配合量が1.5~10質量%であり、かつ、(D)高級アルコールに対する(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸の重量比が0.05~29である、請求項1に記載の皮膚外用剤。
- (E)界面活性剤が、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテル、N-アルキルメチルタウリンナトリウム、ポリオキシエチレンフィトステロール、ポリオキシエチレン硬化ヒマシ油、ポリオキシエチレン脂肪酸エステル、ポリオキシエチレン脂肪酸グリセリル、アルキルグルタミン酸塩、アルキルトリメチルアンモニウム塩、ジアルキルジメチルアンモニウム塩、及び、脂肪酸石鹸からなる群から選択される1種以上である、請求項1に記載の皮膚外用剤。
- (B)水溶性有機溶媒のIOBが1.0~4.0である、請求項1に記載の皮膚外用剤。
- (B)水溶性有機溶媒が、ジプロピレングリコール、1,3-ブチレングリコール、ペンチレングリコール、POE/POPジメチルエーテル、及び、ポリエチレングリコールからなる群から選択される1種以上である、請求項4に記載の皮膚外用剤。
- (D)高級アルコールが、セタノール、セトステアリルアルコール、ステアリルアルコール、及び、べへニルアルコールからなる群から選択される1種以上である、請求項1に記載の皮膚外用剤。
- 粘度が8000mPa・s(B型粘度計、30℃)以上である、請求項1に記載の皮膚外用剤。
- 請求項1に記載の皮膚外用剤の製造方法であって、下記工程(i)~(iii):
(i)(B)水溶性有機溶媒、(C)12-ヒドロキシステアリン酸、(D)一般式R-OH(Rは炭素数16以上のアルキル基)で表される高級アルコール、及び、(E)界面活性剤を60~90℃まで加熱して均一溶解させて中間組成物を調製する工程、
(ii)(A)水を含む50~75℃に加熱した水性媒体に工程(i)で得られた中間組成物を攪拌しながら添加して混合物を調製する工程、あるいは、(A)水を含む50~75℃に加熱した水性媒体を工程(i)で得られた中間組成物に攪拌しながら添加して混合物を調製する工程、及び
(iii)工程(ii)で得られた混合物を室温まで冷却する工程
を含む、皮膚外用剤の製造方法。
