  • Expanded Polypropylene (EPP) used in the proposed saddle is a highly versatile closed-cell bead foam that provides a unique range of properties, including outstanding energy absorption, multiple impact resistance, thermal insulation, buoyancy, water and chemical resistance, exceptionally high strength to weight ratio and 100% recyclability.
  • EPP can be made in a wide range of densities, from 15 to 200 grams per liter, which are transformed by molding into densities ranging from 18 to 260 grams per liter. Individual beads are fused into the final product form by the steamchest molding process resulting in a strong and lightweight shape.

Abstract

La présente divulgation concerne une selle légère, résistante, efficace, respectueuse de l'environnement et rentable (200) destinée au support et au transport d'objets, tels que des bobines, par route sur des remorques et au stockage de bobines dans des aciéries. La selle (200) comprend un élément inférieur (202) définissant un corps de la selle (200), qui est constitué d'un matériau de polypropylène expansé (EPP) présentant une capacité de récupération de forme et de taille, conférant à la selle (200) une bonne propriété d'amortissement et une résistance élevée au choc. La selle (200) ne nécessite pas de fumigation et est inaltérable au feu, à l'eau et aux intempéries. La selle (200) comprend des pieds de renfort (206) en métal qui sont moulés par injection plastique à l'intérieur de l'élément inférieur (202), afin de rendre la selle (200) solide et stable. La surface supérieure de la selle (200) est profilée et façonnée en fonction de la forme des objets (402) à positionner sur cette dernière.
