Abstract

The invention concerns the method of controlling the temperature of a freeboard section (3) of a combustion chamber (1) in a bubbling fluidized bed boiler (2) combusting biomass, wherein the temperature is measured at the end of the freeboard section (3) and when this temperature drops below 900°C, an oxygen-enriched secondary air is supplied into the freeboard (3). Further the invention concerns the equipment for implementation of the method of claim 1, wherein the freeboard (3) is equipped along its circumference by injection nozzles (D) connected with the supply of oxygen-enriched gas from the mixing chamber (B), to which is connected the oxygen buffer tank (G) and secondary air fan (C), while the freeboard (3) is equipped with temperature profile measurement (F) connected with processing and control unit, that also connects continuous oxygen analyzer (E), control valve (I) of the oxygen stream from the oxygen buffer tank (G) and control valve (H) of air.
