Description
前記撹拌部材を駆動するためのアクチュエータと、前記アクチュエータを制御する制御部と、を有し、前記装着部は、前記トナー容器が装着された状態において前記シャッタと係合する係合部を有し、前記係合部が前記シャッタと係合することで前記シャッタと共に移動するように構成された操作部であって、前記シャッタが前記閉位置にある第1位置と、前記シャッタが前記開位置にある第2位置と、の間を移動可能な操作部と、前記操作部の移動を検知する検知部と、を有し、前記操作部の前記第2位置から第1位置への移動が前記検知部によって検知されたことに基づいて前記撹拌部材の駆動が開始されるように、前記制御部は前記アクチュエータを制御することを特徴とする画像形成装置ことを特徴とする。
図1は、第1の実施の形態に係る画像形成装置1の斜視図である。図2は、画像形成装置1の概略断面図である。画像形成装置1は、外部機器から入力される画像情報に基づいて記録材に画像を形成するモノクロプリンターである。記録材には、普通紙及び厚紙等の紙、オーバーヘッドプロジェクタ用シート等のプラスチックフィルム、封筒やインデックス紙等の特殊形状のシート、並びに布等の、材質の異なる様々なシート材が含まれる。
画像形成装置1の全体構成について図1及び図2を用いて説明する。図2に示すように、記録材にトナー像を形成する画像形成部20と、記録材Pを給送する給送部30と、画像形成部20によって形成されたトナー像を記録材に定着させる定着部9と、排出ローラ対10と、を有している。
画像形成装置1の画像形成モードについて説明する。本実施例の画像形成モードは、図1及び図3Aのように、排出トレイ14が閉位置にある状態において、記録材に画像を形成するモードである。画像形成装置1に画像形成の指令が入力されると、画像形成装置1に接続された外部のコンピュータから入力された画像情報に基づいて、画像形成部20による画像形成プロセスが開始される。スキャナユニット50は、入力された画像情報に基づいて、感光ドラム11に向けてレーザ光を照射する。このとき感光ドラム11は、帯電ローラ17により予め帯電されており、レーザ光が照射されることで感光ドラム11上に静電潜像が形成される。その後、現像ローラ12によりこの静電潜像が現像され、感光ドラム11上にトナー像が形成される。
次に、図3A、図3B乃至図7A、図7B、図7Cを用いて、補給部200(装着部)について説明する。排出トレイ14は、図3Aに示すように記録材Pを積載可能であって画像形成モードが実行可能な閉位置と、図3Bに示すように、排出トレイ14が開かれた開位置と、に開閉可能に支持されている。不図示の開閉検知部で排紙トレイ14が開位置と閉位置とのいずれにあるかを検知することができる。排出トレイ14は、閉位置において補給部200を覆っている。排出トレイ14が開位置へ移動させられると、天面部240と、天面部240に隣接して配置される補給部200と、が露出する。補給部200は、後述する補給パック210が着脱可能に構成されている。現像容器230を筐体72(図1)から外すことなく、ユーザやサービスマンが外部から画像形成装置1にトナーを補給することができるように構成されている。
図11A、図11B及び図12A、図12B、図12Cを用いて補給パック210の構成について説明する。図11Aと図11Bは、互いに異なる角度から見たときの補給パック210の斜視図である。図12Aと図12Bと図12Cは、互いに異なる角度から見たときの補給パック210の分解斜視図である。尚、挿入部開口212aは、容器シャッタ214によって覆われて実際には見えないため点線で示されている。
補給パック210の補給部200への装着方法と、補給パック210を用いたトナー補給の方法について説明する。
図15Aは、画像形成装置1に設けられた制御部302のハードウェア構成を示すブロック図である。制御部302は、演算装置としてのCPU302aと、ROM302bと、RAM302cと、を有している。CPU302aは、ROM302bに格納された各種のプログラムを読み込んで、処理を実行する。RAM302cは、CPU302aの作業領域として使用される。
本実施例のトナー残量表示について説明する。表示部415は、図1に示すように、画像形成装置1の筐体72の前面の右側に設けられており、現像容器230の収容部18内のトナー残量に関する情報を表示する。
本実施例の補給モードについて、図16の制御フローチャートを用いて説明する。本実施例の補給モードは、図3Bの排出トレイ14が閉位置から開位置に移動したことが開閉検知部で検知されることで開始される。補給モードが開始されると、図16に示すように、制御部302はまず、スイッチ208の検知結果に基づいて、レバー201が補給位置にあるか否かを判断する(S101)。本実施例では、上述したように補給パック210を補給部200に装着して、レバー201を動作位置から補給位置へ回転させることで、補給パック210から収容部18へのトナー補給が可能になる。レバー201が開位置にある状態において、ユーザは、補給パック210のパウチ211を解して補給パック210から収容部18へトナー補給を行うことができる。レバー201が動作位置から補給位置へ回転させられたことがスイッチ208に検知されてから、表示部415において補給モード表示が開始される(S102)。
本発明の第2実施例について説明する。第2実施例は、第1実施例の補給モードにおける制御を変更したものである。画像形成装置1や補給パック210の構成は、第1実施例と同じであるので、説明を省略する。
本実施例の補給モードの制御について、図17の制御フローチャートを用いて説明する。図17に示すように、制御部302はまず、スイッチ208の検知結果に基づいて、レバー201が補給位置にあるか否かを判断する(S201)。レバー201が補給位置であると判断されると、表示部415において補給モード表示を開始する(S202)。補給モード表示については第1実施例と同じであるので説明を省略する。
本発明の第3実施例について説明する。第3実施例は、第1実施例の補給モードの制御を変更したものである。画像形成装置1や補給パック210の構成は第1実施例と同じであるので、説明を省略する。
本実施例の補給モードの制御について、図18の制御フローチャートを用いて説明する。制御部302はまず、スイッチ208の検知結果に基づいて、レバー201が補給位置にあるか否かを判断する(S301)。レバー201が補給位置であると判断されると、表示部415において補給モード表示を開始する(S302)。補給モード表示については第1実施例と同じであるので説明を省略する。

- トナーを収容するトナー容器であって、トナーを補給するための開口部と、前記開口部を閉鎖する閉位置と前記開口部を開放する開位置との間を移動可能なシャッタと、を有するトナー容器が装着可能な画像形成装置であって、
前記トナー容器を装着可能な装着部と、
前記装着部に装着された前記トナー容器の前記開口部から補給されたトナーを収容するように構成された収容部と、
前記収容部のトナーを撹拌する撹拌部材と、
前記撹拌部材を駆動するためのアクチュエータと、
前記アクチュエータを制御する制御部と、
を有し、
前記装着部は、
前記トナー容器が装着された状態において前記シャッタと係合するように構成された係合部を有し且つ前記係合部が前記シャッタと係合することで前記シャッタと共に移動するように構成された操作部であって、前記シャッタが前記閉位置にある第1位置と、前記シャッタが前記開位置にある第2位置と、の間を移動可能な操作部と、
前記操作部の移動を検知する検知部と、
を有し、
前記操作部の前記第2位置から第1位置への移動が前記検知部によって検知されたことに基づいて前記撹拌部材の駆動が開始されるように、前記制御部は前記アクチュエータを制御することを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - 前記操作部の前記第1位置から前記第2位置への移動が前記検知部によって検知されてから前記操作部の前記第2位置から前記第1位置への移動が前記検知部によって検知されるまでの間において、前記撹拌部材は駆動停止していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記収容部に収容されるトナー量を検知するトナー残量検知部を有し、
前記操作部の前記第2位置から第1位置への移動が前記検知部によって検知されたことに基づいて前記撹拌部材の駆動が開始された後であって前記撹拌部材が駆動されている間に前記トナー残量検知部は前記トナー量を検知することを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の画像形成装置。 - 前記操作部の前記第2位置から第1位置への移動が前記検知部によって検知されたことに基づいて前記撹拌部材の駆動が開始されてから第1所定時間後に前記トナー残量検知部による前記トナー量の検知が開始されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記制御部は、前記トナー残量検知部による前記トナー量の検知を終えた後に前記撹拌部材の駆動が停止されるように、前記アクチュエータを制御することを特徴とする請求項3又は請求項4に記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記トナー残量検知部による前記トナー量の検知結果に応じたトナー残量表示を行う表示部を有し、
前記制御部は、前記操作部の前記第1位置から前記第2位置への移動が前記検知部によって検知されたことに基づいて前記表示部において前記トナー残量表示とは異なる補給モード表示が開始されるように制御し、前記トナー残量検知部による前記トナー量の検知を終えた後に前記補給モード表示を前記トナー残量表示に切り替えることを特徴とする請求項3乃至5のいずれか1項に記載の画像形成装置。 - トナーを収容するトナー容器であって、トナーを補給するための開口部と、前記開口部を開鎖する閉位置と前記開口部を開放する開位置との間を移動可能なシャッタと、を有するトナー容器を装着可能な画像形成装置であって、
前記トナー容器を装着可能な装着部と、
前記装着部に装着された前記トナー容器の前記開口部から補給されたトナーを収容するように構成された収容部と、
前記収容部のトナーを撹拌する撹拌部材と、
前記撹拌部材を駆動するためのアクチュエータと、
前記アクチュエータを制御する制御部と、
を有し、
前記装着部は、
前記トナー容器が装着された状態において前記シャッタと係合するように構成された係合部を有し且つ前記係合部が前記シャッタと係合することで前記シャッタと共に移動するように構成された操作部であって、前記シャッタが前記閉位置にある第1位置と、前記シャッタが前記開位置にある第2位置と、の間を移動可能な操作部と、
前記操作部の移動を検知する検知部と、
を有し、
前記操作部の前記第1位置から第2位置への移動が前記検知部によって検知されてから所定時間後に前記撹拌部材の駆動が開始されるように、前記制御部は前記アクチュエータを制御することを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - トナーを収容するトナー容器であって、トナーを補給するための開口部と、前記開口部を閉鎖する閉位置と前記開口部を開放する開位置との間を移動可能なシャッタと、を有するトナー容器が装着可能な画像形成装置であって、
前記トナー容器を装着可能な装着部と、
前記装着部に装着された前記トナー容器の前記開口部から補給されたトナーを収容するように構成された収容部と、
前記収容部のトナーを撹拌する撹拌部材と、
前記撹拌部材を駆動するためのアクチュエータと、
前記アクチュエータを制御する制御部と、
を有し、
前記装着部は、
前記トナー容器が装着された状態で前記シャッタと係合するように構成された係合部を有し且つ前記係合部が前記シャッタと係合することで前記シャッタと共に移動するように構成された操作部であって、前記シャッタが前記閉位置にある第1位置と、前記シャッタが前記開位置にある第2位置と、の間を移動可能な操作部と、
前記操作部の移動を検知する検知部と、
を有し、
前記操作部の前記第2位置から前記第1位置への移動が前記検知部によって検知される前に前記撹拌部材の駆動が開始され、前記操作部の前記第2位置から第1位置への移動が前記検知部によって検知されたことに基づいて前記撹拌部材の駆動速度が増加するように、前記制御部は前記アクチュエータを制御することを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - トナーを収容するトナー容器であって、トナーを収容するパウチと、前記パウチ内のトナーを前記トナー容器の外部に排出するための開口部が設けられ前記パウチの端部に設けられた端部部材と、前記開口部を閉鎖する閉位置と前記開口部を開放する開位置との間を前記端部部材に対して移動可能な容器シャッタであって被係合部を有する容器シャッタと、を有するトナー容器と、
前記トナー容器を装着可能な画像形成装置と、
を備える画像形成システムにおいて、
前記画像形成装置は、
前記トナー容器を装着可能な装着部と、
前記装着部に装着された前記トナー容器の前記開口部から補給されたトナーを収容するように構成された収容部と、
前記収容部のトナーを撹拌する撹拌部材と、
前記撹拌部材を駆動するためのアクチュエータと、
前記アクチュエータを制御する制御部と、
を有し、
前記装着部は、
前記トナー容器が装着された状態において前記容器シャッタの前記被係合部と係合するように構成された係合部を有し且つ前記係合部が前記容器シャッタの前記被係合部と係合することで前記容器シャッタと共に移動するように構成された操作部であって、前記容器シャッタが前記閉位置にある第1位置と、前記容器シャッタが前記開位置にある第2位置と、の間を移動可能な操作部と、
前記操作部の移動を検知する検知部と、
を有し、
前記操作部の前記第2位置から第1位置への移動が前記検知部によって検知されたことに基づいて前記撹拌部材の駆動が開始されるように、前記制御部は前記アクチュエータを制御することを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - 前記パウチは、ポリプロピレンシートで形成されていることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記操作部によって前記容器シャッタが回転させられた時に、前記パウチは回転しないことを特徴とする請求項9又は10に記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記操作部は、環状部と、前記環状部の中心から半径方向の外側に突出する突出部と、を有することを特徴とする請求項1、7乃至9のいずれか1項に記載の画像形成装置。
- トナーを収容するトナー容器であって、トナーを補給するための開口部と、前記開口部を閉鎖する閉位置と前記開口部を開放する開位置との間を移動可能なシャッタと、を有するトナー容器が装着可能な画像形成装置であって、
前記トナー容器を装着可能な装着部と、
前記装着部に装着された前記トナー容器の前記開口部から補給されたトナーを収容するように構成された収容部と、
前記収容部のトナーを撹拌する撹拌部材と、
前記撹拌部材を駆動するためのアクチュエータと、
前記アクチュエータを制御する制御部と、
を有し、
前記装着部は、
前記トナー容器が装着された状態において前記シャッタと係合するように構成された係合部を有し且つ前記係合部が前記シャッタと係合することで前記シャッタと共に移動するように構成された操作部であって、前記シャッタが前記閉位置にある第1位置と、前記シャッタが前記開位置にある第2位置と、の間を移動可能な操作部と、
前記操作部が第1位置に在るのか無いのかを検知する検知部と、
を有し、
前記操作部が前記第1位置に無い状態から第1位置に在る状態に遷移したことが前記検知部によって検知されたことに基づいて前記撹拌部材の駆動が開始されるように、前記制御部は前記アクチュエータを制御することを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - 前記収容部に収容されるトナー量を検知するトナー残量検知部を有し、
前記操作部が前記第1位置に無い状態から第1位置に在る状態に遷移したことが前記検知部によって検知されたことに基づいて前記撹拌部材の駆動が開始された後であって前記撹拌部材が駆動されている間に前記トナー残量検知部は前記トナー量を検知することを特徴とする請求項13に記載の画像形成装置。 - 前記操作部が前記第1位置に無い状態から第1位置に在る状態に遷移したことが前記検知部によって検知されたことに基づいて前記撹拌部材の駆動が開始されてから第1所定時間後に前記トナー残量検知部による前記トナー量の検知が開始されることを特徴とする請求項14に記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記制御部は、前記トナー残量検知部による前記トナー量の検知を終えた後に前記撹拌部材の駆動が停止されるように、前記アクチュエータを制御することを特徴とする請求項14又は請求項15に記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記トナー残量検知部による前記トナー量の検知結果に応じたトナー残量表示を行う表示部を有し、
前記制御部は、前記操作部が前記第1位置に無い状態から第1位置に在る状態に遷移したことが前記検知部によって検知されたことに基づいて前記表示部において前記トナー残量表示とは異なる補給モード表示が開始されるように制御し、前記トナー残量検知部による前記トナー量の検知を終えた後に前記補給モード表示を前記トナー残量表示に切り替えることを特徴とする請求項14乃至16のいずれか1項に記載の画像形成装置。
