Definitions
- the invention relates to a mobile computer workstation and a method for its manufacture.
- the object of the invention was to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art and to provide a mobile computer workstation that can be put into operation at any desired location, even in the home office, without modifications and in the shortest possible time.
- the computer workstation provides a work area. Mind you, no tabletop should be required as a worktop, but the computer workstation provides a user with this workspace together with the required hardware Disposal. It can be set up on a table, which does not necessarily have to have the necessary dimensions, or, as will be explained below, it can have its own installation option.
- a mobile computer workstation according to the invention comprises the following components:
- a base plate in the form of a table top which essentially has a flat work surface on its upper side, at least in its front half,
- a cover that is attached to the base plate in a hinged manner, the cover being shaped in such a way that, when the computer workstation is closed, it closes at least over most of the circumference of the base plate with its edges and, together with the base plate, forms a convex space around the at least enclosing a mounting interface in which at least a predetermined computer and a predetermined monitor and connection cables of these components can be arranged.
- the computer workstation is designed in such a way that in a working position when the cover is open as intended, it protrudes upwards behind the at least one attachment interface.
- the base plate is crucial for the work area of the computer workstation and serves as a worktop. It has the shape of a table pad (on its underside), so it can be placed on a table.
- a table pad is characterized in that it has a surface that is shaped in such a way that it can be placed on a tabletop.
- Position details such as 'in front', 'back', 'above' or 'below' are always given here and in the following relative to a working position of the computer workstation.
- the working position is that position in which the base plate is substantially horizontal and faces a user with the side of the work area.
- At the top is the side of the lid, at the bottom is the side of the base plate, at the back is the side where the lid is attached to the base plate, and at the front is the opposite side that is intended to face a user.
- a desktop is characterized by the fact that a user can sit on it in front of a monitor and operate a computer.
- a work surface is known in the art and its sizes are often defined by regulations.
- the work surface should be at least big enough for a conventional computer keyboard to fit on it and a computer mouse to be used next to it.
- additional peripheral devices e.g. drawing pads
- the base plate should essentially have a flat work surface on its upper side, at least in its front half. This means that most (> 90%) of the front half of the top of the base plate is designed as a work surface (especially as a flat surface).
- the base plate can be flat over its entire surface. However, it is preferred that in the rear area it has two side parts that project upwards, with which the cover is held in a foldable manner, or that it has a rear frame with such side parts and a rear wall that projects upwards. However, at least the front part always includes the flat work surface.
- Suitable attachment interfaces can be simple feeds for power and/or data lines.
- an attachment interface is designed as a mounting interface to which the hardware can be mechanically connected, e.g. B. a VESA interface.
- a VESA interface e.g. B.
- a single mounting interface suffices.
- two attachment interfaces, one for the computer and one for the monitor are preferred.
- the cover serves on the one hand to protect the components contained in the computer workstation and on the other hand as a demarcation element from the environment.
- the cover is shaped in such a way that, when the computer workstation is in the closed state, it terminates at least over most of the circumference of the base plate with its edges, in particular flush and/or overlapping. By this is meant that the convex space formed thereby is essentially inaccessible from the outside.
- the closure should be shaped over the entire circumference of the base plate in such a way that no complete hand (especially not even a child's hand) can reach inside the closed computer workstation.
- the closure between the cover and the base plate is preferably such that the cover rests on the surface of the base plate, in particular on the edge of the work surface, or is flush with the underside of the base plate (cover surrounds the base plate).
- the cover can also overlap with side parts of the base plate.
- the convex space enclosed by the closed computer workstation is z.
- B dome-shaped, dome-shaped or shell-shaped. So the term “convex” means that the space above the base plate is curved. This convex shape has the advantage that the space is used optimally, since there should be more space in the middle, where the monitor is located, than at the edges, and when using a curved monitor, the interior adapts to its curvature.
- the room is (of course) big enough to accommodate all the components you want and need at work.
- These are a computer and a monitor, and in particular, in addition, a keyboard, a mouse, a camera and the associated cables.
- predetermined means that a relevant element can in principle be freely selected, but the selection of the component and/or the selection of the dimensions in the construction of the invention is made in such a way that they can be assembled in the desired arrangement relative to one another. Because different types of these elements have different sizes, the computer work station should be large enough for the selected component types. Since these types are predetermined, ie known in advance, it is easy to choose the space appropriately large or to select the components according to the space, ie to appropriately predetermine.
- the computer, monitor and other hardware components are not part of the workplace, but can be selected depending on the application. But they can also be part of the computer workstation.
- the computer workstation can certainly be designed so that there is space for several monitors, but basically a single curved monitor is sufficient, which can be divided electronically or virtually if necessary.
- a method according to the invention for producing a mobile computer workstation according to the invention comprises the following steps: cutting out the base plate from a plastic plate (e.g. a polyethylene plate), in particular by water jet cutting and preferably bending rear side areas, and in particular also a rear wall, the base plate,
- a plastic plate e.g. a polyethylene plate
- the base plate with an overlay, e.g. B. with artificial leather or with a textile material,
- the cover is at least partially transparent.
- transparent does not mean that the cover must necessarily allow a clear view, but that at least light can shine through the cover.
- the cover is preferably transparent and/or translucent.
- the lid is not exactly transparent, but has a (particularly slight) tint or an (particularly slight) opacity. It can also have a partial mirror coating that allows a view of the outside or of the workplace from the outside.
- the degree of tinting of the lid is preferably more than 1%, in particular more than 5% or even more than 10%. It is preferably less than 90%, in particular less than 50% or even less than 30%. The same conditions are preferred for the transmission of the incident light with a translucent lid.
- Tinting, mirroring or matting of the lid can be determined by the material of the lid. However, they can also be realized with foils which are glued onto the cover or by means of other coatings on the cover.
- a preferred mobile computing workstation includes a mounting interface with a monitor mount.
- monitor mount is meant an element by which a monitor can be mechanically attached to the mounting interface, e.g. B. by means of screws.
- Suitable monitor mounts are known in the prior art.
- a particularly preferred monitor mount is a VESA Flat Display Mounting Interface (FDMI), preferably with a mounting interface standard according to parts B to F depending on the size of the desired monitor.
- FDMI VESA Flat Display Mounting Interface
- the attachment interface (or the monitor mount) preferably includes a height adjustment and/or tilt adjustment of the monitor mount relative to the attachment interface.
- the attachment interface is preferably foldably attached to the base plate so that it can be folded into an upright and a lying position, in particular in a folding movement which corresponds to the folding movement of the lid or even with it, at least as far as the movement sequence (e.g. the pivoting direction) is concerned , Is identical, and preferably has a lock for transport and / or for a working position.
- the attachment interface is at rest preferably in a folded-down position (monitor lies on the base plate) and is locked so that it does not hit the cover or the base plate in the event of vibrations or the computer workstation tipping over.
- the attachment interface In the working position, the attachment interface is preferably locked in such a way that a monitor cannot accidentally tilt. It is preferred that the attachment interface is configured such that adjustment of height adjustment and/or tilt adjustment is retained after tilting of the attachment interface. This has the advantage that a monitor no longer has to be adjusted when the computer workstation is opened in the working position, but an initial adjustment is retained.
- the attachment interface in particular a monitor mount, is fastened to the cover (possibly in addition to being fastened to the base plate), so that a monitor is brought into a working position directly when the cover is folded up.
- An attachment interface on the lid can certainly be an adhesive interface.
- the attachment interface preferably includes a handle for moving it and/or electronic components such as a light or a camera.
- a preferred mobile computer workstation includes a lighting unit, in particular designed for glare-free lighting, which is preferably attached to the attachment interface or the cover.
- a lamp may be attached to or as a handle of the attachment interface.
- the lighting unit is preferably designed as workplace lighting, monitor lighting and/or as indirect lighting (which, for example, illuminates the cover behind the monitor) and/or for radiating light into the material of the cover.
- the front edges of the lid can be shaped as light outlets, e.g. B. beveled or curved so that the exiting radiation falls on the desired area.
- the base plate and cover are shaped in such a way that, when folded, a width of 1800 mm, preferably 1200 mm, in particular 950 mm, is not exceeded and/or a depth of 1000 mm, preferably 800 mm is not exceeded and/or a height of 600 mm, preferably 350 mm, is not exceeded.
- the width and depth should be greater than 400 mm, in particular greater than 600 mm and/or the height should be greater than 100 mm, in particular greater than 200 mm. This results in a sufficiently large workplace, which is so compact when the lid is closed that it can be easily transported, e.g. B. can be placed from the table in a corner or put into a car for transport.
- the computer workstation can have handles in or on the cover or in or on the base plate for transport. These handles can also be shaped as handles, but care should be taken that they are smaller than a whole hand so that no one can reach inside the closed computer work station without permission.
- a preferred mobile computer workstation includes a flexible support on the base plate, in particular made of leather, imitation leather (e.g. velor imitation leather) or a textile material.
- the surface of the work surface is thus formed by this edition.
- This has the advantage that the material of the base plate and its production can be based entirely on aspects of functionality and aesthetic advantages can be achieved through the support.
- the edition preferably also fulfills advantageous functions, e.g. B. it ensures slip resistance for keyboards (due to the aforementioned materials), padding and protection against scratches (e.g. of the monitor when folded down).
- the support preferably forms a flat surface in the area of the work surface of the base plate.
- the support preferably forms a pocket or an S-shaped fold and is designed there such that the upper layer of material forms an object, e.g. B. a keyboard or a mouse can get stuck in the pocket or fold.
- a part of the support for the attachment interface can also be cut out in this area, with pivot points for tilting the attachment interface preferably being in the area of the openings in the support.
- the pocket or S-shape has the advantage that a keyboard, a mouse or possibly other work utensils can be stowed away before the computer workstation is folded into the present compartment can be pushed in and are preferably held by a mechanical tension of the pad.
- the support preferably also covers that area in which a computer is intended to be arranged, preferably in such a way that the computer can be arranged between the base plate and the support.
- the advantage of this is that the computer and cables in the rear part of the computer workstation are covered by the support.
- the base plate includes at least one foldable side wing in the front area, which is designed so that it enlarges the work surface to the side when folded out and in particular forms a flat work surface with the base plate.
- the side wing In the closed state of the computer workstation, the side wing is preferably within the closed cover. However, the side wing can also be located outside, especially if no transport takes place. Such side wings are preferably arranged on both sides of the base plate and advantageously increase the work surface.
- the upper part of the side wing is formed of the flexible overlay.
- the lower part is preferably made of the material of the base plate, neoprene or the material of the overlay.
- a preferred mobile computer workstation includes a camera, in particular in or on the attachment interface or on the cover, which is preferably designed as a camera for video conferences and/or as a document camera and is particularly preferably adjustable (i.e. displaceable and/or tiltable and/or rotatable).
- the computer workstation includes a microphone and/or a loudspeaker, in particular in or on the attachment interface or on the cover.
- the camera is preferably equipped with a tilt sensor so that the image can be flipped accordingly when the document is viewed.
- a preferred mobile computer workstation includes a lock which is designed in such a way that it locks the cover when the computer workstation is in the closed state locked to the base plate, with the lock preferably being lockable. This has the advantage that the hardware can be enclosed in such a computer workstation and the computer workstation does not open accidentally during transport.
- a preferred mobile computer workstation includes rollers or sliders on the back side, ie on a back wall of the base plate or on the cover. These are arranged in such a way that the back of the closed computer workstation can be moved over a floor surface by means of rollers or sliders.
- the rollers or sliders are attached to the lid or to the base, preferably to a rear wall of the base.
- the back is preferably substantially perpendicular to the work surface (in particular, their angle to one another is between 80°-100°) so that the computer workstation can stand stably on the back and does not tip over.
- the edge of the cover has an elastic enclosure (eg a rubber lip as edge protection).
- This enclosure surrounds the edge of the cover in such a way that a camera or a microphone can be attached to it, in particular by sliding it in.
- the enclosure preferably has lines in its interior (in particular cables or lines made of conductive paint) by means of which signals can be routed to a data interface on the cover or on the base plate. In particular, four lines are sufficient for a USB connection.
- the data interfaces between the lines and the corresponding device can be realized by a socket in the enclosure (into which a plug of the device can be inserted) or inside the enclosure (where the device must have contact points in the inserted part.
- a data contact to A computer can be established via data connections on the back of the cover This allows electronic components (e.g. a camera) to be positioned freely by sliding them freely into the enclosure.
- a preferred mobile computer workstation includes a stand unit with legs shaped and sized to stably support the base in a working position that is at a height at which a seated or standing user can work at the computer workstation.
- the Set-up unit can be formed by four foldable legs or one inverted T-shaped leg on each side.
- the computer workstation in some embodiments is intended to be placed on its back when folded (see, for example, the previous statements on castors or glides).
- the back of the computer workstation is preferably designed as a flat surface (its cover and/or a rear side of the base plate that projects upwards). can keep the computer workstation stable in the working position.
- the uprighting unit is rounded on its rear side in such a way that a computer workstation standing on its back can be uprighted into the working position by means of a rolling uprighting movement.
- the legs mentioned above can then prevent a rolling tipping forward and/or backwards
- One leg is preferably pivotably mounted on a standing unit by means of a rotary joint and can be locked in at least one standing position.
- the rounding is preferably delimited by a straight area at each end, so that on the rear side of the raising unit it first has a straight surface on a side facing the ground during raising, then one (in the direction of tilting movement) in an arc running surface and then has a straight surface again.
- One straight surface is preferably on the floor when the computer workstation is on the back, and the other straight surface is on the ground when the computer workstation is in the working position.
- the straight faces are preferably longer than 1 cm, in particular longer than 10 cm.
- the straight faces are preferably shorter than 50 cm, in particular shorter than 30 cm.
- the straight surfaces, which limit the rounding have the advantage that there are braking tipping points when standing up in the rolling tilting movement, which have a positive effect on the effort required. First, the computer workstation is raised a little using a tilting movement, then brought almost into the working position with a rolling movement and then moved back into the final working position with a tilting movement.
- the righting unit can have steps that are attached in such a way that the righting movement can be supported with the foot.
- a preferred righting unit consists of a plate that is attached to the base plate so that it can be folded up and that is rounded off on its underside in such a way that (when the stand-up unit is folded out) it is possible to roll the computer workstation from a standing position on its back to a working position. This has the advantage that when the computer workstation is on its back, it can easily be tilted (possibly with the help of the foot) into a horizontal position. The legs can then swing out at the front or back and stabilize the stance.
- a support structure z.
- a side table can be fastened or formed on one of the raising units and, in particular, can be folded down.
- Such a component increases the working area similar to a side wing mentioned above.
- it is preferably designed in such a way that it can fulfill a load-bearing function and, in particular, can carry a side wing in a stable manner.
- a preferred mobile computer workstation includes
- a charging station in particular an inductive charging station, and/or

- Figure 10 is a block diagram for a preferred manufacturing process.
- Figure 1 shows a preferred embodiment of a mobile computer workstation 1 according to the invention in the closed state. It comprises a base plate 2 (see, for example, FIG. 2) in the form of a table top and a transparent cover 3.
- This cover 3 is arranged on side parts 2a of the base plate 2 in such a way that it can be attached to the base plate 2 by means of axes 9 so that it can be opened.
- the cover 3 is shaped in such a way that, in the closed state of the computer workstation 1 shown here, it closes at least over the largest part of the circumference of the base plate 2 (apart from two recessed grips 3a on each side) with its edges and, together with the base plate 2, convex (here shell-shaped) space.
- a mounting interface 5 with a monitor holder 5a can be seen under the transparent cover 3, to which a monitor 4 is attached, a keyboard 7 and a mouse 8 for operating a computer 6, which is also located in the interior but cannot be seen (these components are represented here by the Monitor covered sz. Figures 2, 3 and 6).
- the computer workstation 1 is provided with a lock 18 on the side parts 2a, which is designed in such a way that it locks the cover 3 to the base plate 2 when the computer workstation 1 is closed and can also be locked.
- FIG. 2 shows the computer workstation 1 from FIG. 1 with the cover open.
- the components described above are better visible here and it can now be seen that the base plate 2 essentially has a flat work surface A on its upper side in its front half, on which a keyboard 7 and a mouse 8 are present. They are partially covered here by folded-in side parts 11, which are described in more detail below.
- the attachment interface 5 is equipped with a monitor holder 5a, which in this example allows the monitor 4 to be adjusted in height and inclination relative to the attachment interface.
- the monitor mount 5a should maintain its position relative to the attachment interface 5, so that after unfolding, the old settings of the monitor 4 for a user B are retained.
- FIG. 3 shows the computer workstation 1 from the previous FIGS. 1 now in operation. He is in the working position, the monitor 4 at the attachment interface 5 is folded up and the side wings 11 are folded out. A user B works on the work surface A with the mouse 8 and the opened cover 3 protrudes behind the monitor 4 and the mounting interface 5 . It is tinted as a privacy screen, but still allows light to enter and user B to see through it. B. a mobile phone can be charged.
- This charging station 10 can, for. B. as an inductive charging station 10 can be incorporated invisibly into the material of the base plate 2 or be arranged under a material.
- the base plate 2 is provided with a flexible support 14, z. B. made of suede leatherette.
- the support 14 forms a flat surface and under the Area of the monitor 4 an S-shaped fold in the form of a pocket 14a (encircled by dashed lines).
- the computer 6 covers the area in which the computer 6 is arranged, so that the computer lies between the base plate 2 and the support 14 and is invisible to the user B and the viewer of the figure.
- the keyboard 7 and the mouse 8 can be pushed into the pocket 14a (dashed arrow).
- FIG. 4 shows a state of the computer workstation 1 with the keyboard 7 and mouse 8 pushed into this pocket 14a. Shown is z. B. a state before the computer workstation 1 could be folded back after work.
- the side wings 11 can also be seen very well here. In this example, the upper part of the side wing 11 could be made from the flexible support 14 and its lower part from the material of the base plate 2.
- the mouse 8 and keyboard are securely stowed for transport in the pocket 14a, which should be designed to apply a pinching force to these components and thereby hold them in place.
- the two folding side wings 11 can be clearly seen in the front area, which are designed in such a way that they enlarge the work surface A to the side when folded out. This is indicated by the right side wing 11, which is unfolded here.
- the side wings 11 lie inside the closed cover 3, which is indicated by the folded left side wing 11.
- the attachment interface 5 is provided with a handle at the top so that the monitor 4 can be easily folded up.
- it is equipped with a lighting unit 13 under the handle and also includes a camera 12 for video conferencing.
- the lighting unit 13 is used here as workplace lighting.
- FIG 5 shows a preferred embodiment of a computer workstation 1 according to the invention with a keyboard 7 pushed into the pocket 14a in cross section along the section line S in Figure 4.
- the computer 6 and a fan 20 can also be seen in this cross section, which are covered in the previous figures are.
- Computer 6 and fan are in a compartment, which is formed from the base plate 2 with a rear wall 2b and the support 14.
- Computer workstation 1 can now be closed.
- FIG. 6 again shows a folded computer workstation 1, as shown in FIG. 1, from a different perspective, namely diagonally from behind.
- rollers 15 can be seen on the rear wall 2b of the base plate.
- a ventilation opening 21 can also be seen on the rear wall 2b, through which the fan 20 (see FIG. 5) can suck in fresh air.
- FIG. 7 outlines a preferred exemplary embodiment of an erection unit 24 for erecting and erecting a computer workstation 1 according to the invention in the working position.
- the computer workstation comprises an uprighting unit 16 with legs 17 on each side of the base plate 2.
- the legs 17 are inherently rigid and shaped and dimensioned in such a way that they are rotatably mounted on joints 17a and can be fastened with locks in the area of the computer workstation 1. so that they can keep it stable in a working position together with the erecting unit 16 .
- An erecting unit 16 is rounded on its rear side, specifically in a shape such that a computer workstation 1 standing on the rear wall 2b can be erected into the working position by means of a rolling erecting movement (see arrow).
- the steps 23 can also be used to get up.
- Holding structures 22, which support the side wings 11 at the bottom, are formed in the areas where the side wings 11 are to rest.
- FIG. 8 shows the installation unit 24 in a side perspective. If the computer workstation 1 initially stood on its rear wall 2b with the erection unit 24 folded up, as can be seen on the left, it was erected on the right with the erection unit 16 folded out in a rotating tilting movement (solid arrow). The legs 17 are still in the position they were in when the installation unit 24 was in the folded state. You now have to be turned backwards along the dashed arrows so that the computer workstation 1 has a stable stand and can no longer tip over backwards.
- FIG. 9 shows the correctly rotated legs 17 in a detailed view. In the lower area, the swivel joint 17a can be seen on the raising unit 16, around which the legs can be rotated.
- the rotated legs 17 are secured at one end in a detent 17b so that they cannot rotate back.
- the ends can simply be pulled out of the lock 17b. This can be done by hand or by a cable (not shown here) on the holding structure 22 . If the lock is released on both sides, the legs 17 can be rotated again and the computer workstation 1 can be rolled back onto its rear wall 2b on the erecting unit 16.
- Figure 10 shows a block diagram for a preferred method for producing a mobile computer workstation 1 according to the invention.
- step I the base plate 2 is cut out of a plastic plate, in particular by water jet cutting and preferably bending of rear side areas 2a, and in particular also of a rear wall 2b, of the base plate 2.
- the cover 3 is formed by deep-drawing plastic, in particular transparent plastic, by means of thermoforming and preferably milling the ends of the cover 3 with the base plate 2 to form an end.
- step III the base plate 2 is optionally glued to a support 14.
- step IV additional elements are optionally manufactured, in particular an attachment interface 5 (or an erecting unit or legs), in particular by means of an injection molding process.
- step V the base plate 2 and cover 3 and possibly other components are joined together, so that the cover 3 is mounted in a hinged manner on the base plate 2 and, if necessary, the other components are arranged in their intended places.
