Definitions
- the present invention relates to a system and a method for container handling, in particular for container handling offshore, for example on autonomous platforms.
- the device described in document WO 2020101501 A1 is a connection device for connecting a lifting element to a lifting element suspended from a cable.
- This connecting device comprises a top surface having at least one angled part for guiding the lifting element towards a receiving area. It also comprises a hoist receiving part configured to hold the sling, wherein the hoist receiving part is further configured to receive the hoist from the receiving area and provide a connection between the hoist and the sling when the hoist is placed on the receiving part of the hoist.
- connection device solves the safety problems for the people involved, since it can be operated remotely, its use is complicated, since it depends to a great extent on the skill of the operator, since it requires the operator to accurately position the lifting element that hangs from the sling in the receiving area, which is relatively small.
- an objective of the present invention is to provide a system and a method for the handling of containers that, in addition to guaranteeing the safety of the operators, also facilitates their use.
- the container handling system comprises:
- a movable frame configured to be movable on a flat surface
- the coupling element is located on said movable frame, said movable frame being connected at one end of said sling.
- the container handling system according to the present invention also comprises a pole, preferably elastic, which guides a portion of the sling closest to the end connected to the movable frame.
- the movable frame includes wheels, advantageously omnidirectional wheels.
- the container handling system also comprises a head to which the coupling element and the connecting end of the sling are connected, the position of the head being adjustable on the slidable frame.
- the head preferably comprises torsion springs to maintain the position of the coupling element.
- the coupling element comprises a magnet
- the movable frame comprises a battery pack.
- the present invention also refers to a method for handling containers, which comprises the following steps:
- the movement of the movable frame is carried out motorized, remote controlled.
- the sling is released, keeping a portion of the sling at the connecting end thereof in a substantially vertical position, and the Coupling of the coupling element with the lifting eye of the container is done using a magnet.
- the system and method according to the present invention has the advantage that it can support the weight of the hook and move precisely on a flat surface, such as the ship's deck.
- the hook allows the hook to be arranged horizontally with respect to the ground, at 90° with respect to its operating position, thus facilitating the hooking of the load rings located on one side of the container.
- Another advantage is that it allows the ring of the container to be attracted and orientated with the magnet present on the hook and to close said hook, all of this being done under a fail-safe concept, which prevents malfunctions and guarantees maximum safety.
- Figure 1 is a perspective view of the container handling system in accordance with the present invention.
- Figure 2 is a side elevational view of the container handling system in accordance with the present invention.
- FIGS 3 to 8 are perspective views of the container handling method in accordance with the present invention.
- the container handling system comprises a movable frame, generally indicated by the reference number 1, which includes omnidirectional wheels 2 to allow movement in any direction on a horizontal surface, for example, on deck 10 of a ship.
- the movable frame 1 also comprises a coupling element 3, preferably made up of a hook 31, a magnet 32 and a body 33.
- the slidable frame 1 also comprises a head 4 for connecting the slidable frame 1 with the end of a sling 5.
- the head 4 comprises a pin 41, and also comprises torsion springs 42 to keep the hook 31 in place. horizontal position.
- This head 4 can be adjusted in height on the movable frame 1, for example, by means of an endless screw.
- this movable frame 1 comprises a pole 6, which is made of an elastic material.
- the movable frame 1 also comprises a set of rechargeable batteries 7, and also the control electronics adequate.
- the container handling system according to the present invention always remains on a platform offshore, and it is on said platform where it has a place reserved exclusively for the system and has a charging battery recharging system. inductively.
- the platform crane hooks the end of the sling 5 with its hook. By doing this, the system is ready to operate, as explained below.
- the container handling procedure according to the present invention is as follows.
- the movable frame 1 must be placed on the deck 10 of the ship where the containers 11 are placed.
- the platform crane will lift and move the movable frame 1 until it is deposited on the deck 10. During this process, the entire sling 5 is extended and join the hook of the platform crane with the sliding frame 1.
- the pole 6 intervenes, which, as previously indicated, will always make the section between the pin 41 and a distance, for example, between 1.5 meters and 2 meters.
- pole 6 When sling 5 is under tension, pole 6 will not affect its properties and functionality. On the other hand, when sling 5 is without tension, pole 6 maintains a section of sling 5 vertically, separating from the ground the excess section that the crane will yield so that frame 1 can move freely on deck 10.
- the frame 1 can move on the cover 10 on a surface delimited by a circumference of radius equal to the length of the sling 5 loose and centered on the crane hook.
- the relative position of this work surface will change depending on the vertical position of the hook on the roof 10. Therefore, the crane operator will have to accompany the movement of the frame 1 to allow it to cover the entire surface of the roof.
- the slack in the sling 5 makes it possible to absorb the relative movements between the platform and the ship as a result of waves, which is one of the most restrictive conditions in this work environment.
- the hook 31 of the coupling element 3 is coupled to a lifting eye 12 of the container 11.
