本実施形態の光学積層体を図1に示す。図1の光学積層体100は、光学基材1と粘着剤層2とを備える。粘着剤層2は、光学基材1の表面11に配置されている。粘着剤層2及び光学基材1は、互いに接している。粘着剤層2が配置されている表面11は、エネルギーの照射による表面改質がなされた改質面12である。粘着剤層2は、イソシアヌル環を含有するがイソシアネート基を含有しないシランカップリング剤(以下、「Si剤(X)」と記載)を含む粘着剤組成物を含む。イソシアヌル環は、以下の式(1)に示す構造である。式(1)における少なくとも1つの*(結合の手)には、Si原子及び加水分解性基を含む分子構造(Y)が結合している。分子構造(Y)は、2つの*に結合していても、3つの*の全てに結合していてもよい。分子構造(Y)が結合していない*には、特に制限されないが、水素原子、ハロゲン原子、又は有機残基が結合しうる。
Si剤(X)は、イソシアヌル環を含有する。Si剤(X)が含有するイソシアヌル環の数は、1又は2以上であってもよく、1であってもよい。Si剤(X)において、1つのイソシアヌル環あたりのSi原子の数は、1であってもよく、1超、2以上、更には3以上であってもよい。1つの分子構造(Y)に含まれるSi原子の数は限定されず、典型的には1である。
粘着剤層2に含まれる粘着剤組成物におけるSi剤(X)の含有率は、例えば0.01重量%以上5.0重量%以下であり、0.01重量%以上3.0重量%以下、0.05重量%以上1.0重量%以下、0.1重量%以上0.5重量%以下、更には0.15重量%以上0.4重量%以下であってもよい。含有率の適切な制御は、高温での耐剥がれ性のより確実な向上に寄与する。
(メタ)アクリル系ポリマーは、炭素数1~30のアルキル基を側鎖に有する(メタ)アクリル系単量体(a1)に由来する単位(a2)を有していてもよく、単位(a2)を主たる単位として有していてもよい。アルキル基は、直鎖状であっても分岐を有していてもよい。(メタ)アクリル系ポリマーは、1種又は2種以上の単位(a2)を有していてもよい。
粘着剤組成物は、(メタ)アクリル系オリゴマーを更に含んでいてもよい。
粘着剤組成物は、架橋剤を更に含んでいてもよい。架橋剤の使用により、粘着剤組成物の凝集力を向上できる。
粘着剤組成物は、その他の添加剤を含んでいてもよい。添加剤は、例えば、Si剤(X)以外のシランカップリング剤、シリコーンオイル等のシリコーン化合物(シランカップリング剤を除く)、ポリエーテル化合物(ポリプロピレングリコールをはじめとするポリアルキレングリコール等)、顔料及び染料等の着色剤、界面活性剤、可塑剤、粘着性付与剤、表面潤滑剤、レベリング剤、軟化剤、酸化防止剤、老化防止剤、光安定剤、紫外線吸収剤、重合禁止剤、帯電防止剤(イオン性化合物であるアルカリ金属塩、イオン液体、イオン固体等)、無機充填材、有機充填材、金属粉等の粉体、粒子、箔状物である。Si剤(X)以外のシランカップリング剤を含む場合、当該シランカップリング剤の含有率は、0.5重量%以下、0.1重量%以下、0.05重量%以下、更には0.01重量%未満であってもよい。粘着剤組成物は、Si剤(X)以外のシランカップリング剤を含んでいなくてもよい。シリコーン化合物を含む場合、シリコーン化合物の含有率は、0.5重量%以下、0.1重量%以下、0.05重量%以下、更には0.01重量%未満であってもよい。粘着剤組成物は、シリコーン化合物を含んでいなくてもよい。
粘着剤層2の厚さは、例えば1~200μmであり、5~150μm、更には10~100μmであってもよい。粘着剤層2は、単層であっても、2以上の層を含む積層体であってもよい。2以上の全ての層が上記粘着剤組成物を含んでいてもよい。
光学基材1の表面11に配置されて使用される粘着剤組成物であって、
シランカップリング剤を含み、
前記シランカップリング剤は、イソシアヌル環を含有し、イソシアネート基を含有せず、
前記粘着剤組成物が配置される前記表面は、エネルギーの照射による表面改質がなされた改質面である、粘着剤組成物、

粘着剤層2は、例えば、以下の方法により形成できる。
-溶剤型の粘着剤組成物をベースフィルム(はく離フィルム)等に塗布し、重合溶剤等を乾燥により除去する。ベースフィルム上に形成した粘着剤層2は、光学基材1の表面11に転写できる。
-活性エネルギー線硬化型の粘着剤組成物をベースフィルム等に塗布し、活性エネルギー線を照射して硬化させる。活性エネルギー線の照射に加えて、加熱による乾燥を実施してもよい。また、粘着剤組成物を塗布する際に、重合溶剤以外の一種以上の溶剤を新たに組成物に加えてもよい。
光学基材1は改質面12を有する。改質面12は、エネルギーの照射による表面改質がなされた面である。表面改質では、基材の表面に官能基が生成する。エネルギーの照射による表面改質は、例えば、コロナ処理、プラズマ処理及び紫外線処理(エキシマレーザー照射等)から選ばれる少なくとも1種である。
画像表示装置の一例を図4に示す。図4の画像表示装置200は、基板51、粘着剤層10A、画像形成層(有機EL層)52、粘着剤層10B、光学基材1、粘着剤層2及びカバーフィルム53がこの順に積層された積層構造を有する。画像表示装置200は、光学積層体100を備えている。基板51、画像形成層52及びカバーフィルム53は、公知の有機ELディスプレイが備える基板、画像形成層及びカバーフィルムと、それぞれ同様の構成を有していればよい。

(合成例1)
撹拌羽根、温度計、窒素ガス導入管、及び冷却器を備えた4つ口フラスコに、BA99重量部及びHBA1重量部を仕込み、BA及びHBAの混合物の濃度が50重量%となるように酢酸エチル及びトルエンにより溶剤希釈した。希釈に用いた溶剤に占めるトルエンの割合は5重量%とした。次に、BA及びHBAの混合物100重量部に対して、重合開始剤としてAIBN0.1重量部を加え、緩やかに撹拌しながら窒素ガスを導入してフラスコ内を窒素置換した後、フラスコ内の液温を55℃付近に保って重合反応を7時間進行させた。次に、得られた反応液に酢酸エチルを加えて固形分濃度20重量%に調整して、(メタ)アクリル系ポリマーA1の溶液を得た。(メタ)アクリル系ポリマーA1のMwは180万であった。なお、各合成例において作製した(メタ)アクリル系ポリマーのMwは、GPCにより、以下の測定条件にて測定した。
・分析装置:Waters製、Acquity APC
・カラム:東ソー製、G7000HXL+GMHXL+GMHXL
・カラム温度:40℃
・溶離液:テトラヒドロフラン(酸添加)
・流速:0.8mL/分
・注入量:100μL
・検出器:示差屈折計(RI)
・標準試料:Agilent製、ポリスチレン(PS)
2EHA96重量部、HBA1重量部及びNVP3重量部をフラスコに仕込むと共に、希釈に用いた溶剤に占めるトルエンの割合を30重量%とした以外は合成例1と同様にして、(メタ)アクリル系ポリマーA2の溶液を得た。(メタ)アクリル系ポリマーA2のMwは120万であった。
希釈に用いた溶剤に占めるトルエンの割合を5重量%とした以外は合成例2と同様にして、(メタ)アクリル系ポリマーA3の溶液を得た。(メタ)アクリル系ポリマーA3のMwは200万であった。
希釈に用いた溶剤に占めるトルエンの割合を0重量%とし、重合開始剤の量をAIBN0.05重量部とし、重合反応の時間を2時間とした以外は合成例2と同様にして、(メタ)アクリル系ポリマーA4の溶液を得た。(メタ)アクリル系ポリマーA4のMwは280万であった。
以下の表2に示す組成になるように(メタ)アクリル系ポリマー溶液、架橋剤及びシランカップリング剤を混合して、溶剤型の粘着剤組成物P1~P11を得た。なお、ポリマー、架橋剤及びシランカップリング剤の含有率は、固形分換算値である。
(実施例1)
作製した粘着剤組成物P1を、剥離フィルム(三菱樹脂製、MRF#38)における剥離処理面上にファウンテンコーターにより塗布した後、155℃に設定した空気循環式恒温オーブンにて2分間乾燥させて、粘着剤組成物の層(厚さ20μm)を形成した。これとは別に、空気中においてコロナ処理(照射エネルギー量:0.3J/cm2)された改質面を有するPETフィルム(厚さ75μm)を光学基材として準備した。準備したPETフィルムの改質面に、上記形成した粘着剤組成物の層を貼り合わせて、粘着剤層と光学基材とを備える光学積層体を作製した。なお、貼り合わせは、粘着剤層と接しない部分がPETフィルムの一辺から50mm以上の幅で形成されるように実施した。
粘着剤組成物P1の代わりに粘着剤組成物P2~P9をそれぞれ用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして、実施例2~9の光学積層体を得た。
粘着剤組成物P1の代わりに粘着剤組成物P3を用いると共に、改質面を持たないPETフィルム(厚さ同じ)を光学基材に用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして、比較例1の光学積層体を得た。
粘着剤組成物P1の代わりに粘着剤組成物P10を用いると共に、改質面を持たないPETフィルム(厚さ同じ)を光学基材に用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして、比較例2の光学積層体を得た。
粘着剤組成物P1の代わりに粘着剤組成物P10を用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして、比較例3の光学積層体を得た。
粘着剤組成物P1の代わりに粘着剤組成物P11を用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして、比較例4の光学積層体を得た。
[Si剤(X)の偏在の有無]
実施例3及び比較例1の光学積層体について、粘着剤層におけるSi剤(X)の偏在が見られるかを、エッチングイオンを併用したTOF-SIMSにより評価した。この評価法では、粘着剤層の厚さ方向に対する元素分析が可能である。TOF-SIMSの評価条件は次のとおりとした。
・装置:ULVAC-PHI製、TRIFT-V
・評価対象:SiOH+イオンに対応するm/z=45
・エッチングイオン:Arガスクラスターイオン
・エッチングイオン加速電圧:10kV
・照射した一次イオン:Bi3 2+
・一次イオン加速電圧:30kV
・粘着剤層の露出面から光学基材の方向にエッチング
粘着剤層の800%モジュラスは、次のように評価した。離型フィルム上に形成した粘着剤層を幅30mm及び長さ100mmの長方形状にカットし、気泡が入らないように巻き込んで円柱状にしたものを測定用サンプルとした。引張試験機を用い、初期のチャック間距離10mm及び引張速度300mm/分の条件で測定した測定用サンプルの伸び-応力曲線から伸び800%時の応力を求め、求めた応力から800%モジュラス(N/mm2)を算出した。なお、伸び800%とは、チャック間距離が90mmになった状態を指す。引張試験機には、島津製作所社製オートグラフAG-ISを用いた。評価は、常温(23℃)で実施した。
光学基材に対する粘着剤層の高温(80℃)粘着力は、以下のように評価した。各実施例及び比較例で作製した光学積層体に対して、上記と同様のコロナ処理がなされた更なるPETフィルム(厚さ75μm)を貼り合わせた。次に、貼り合わせにより得た積層体を幅25mm及び長さ150mmの短冊状に切断して、測定用サンプルを得た。貼り合わせは、光学積層体の粘着剤層と更なるPETフィルムの改質面とが接するように、かつ、短冊状に切断したときに、積層体の長辺方向の一方の端部に、粘着剤層と接しない第1の自由端(長さ50mm)を更なるPETフィルムが有するように実施した。また、貼り合わせの際には、日本産業規格(旧日本工業規格;JIS)Z0237:2009に定められた質量2kgの圧着ローラを温度25℃で一往復させた。切断は、光学積層体を作製する際に設けた光学基材における粘着剤層と接しない部分が、上記長辺方向の他方の端部に第2の自由端(長さ50mm)として位置するように実施した。その後、30分間静置した測定用サンプルを、恒温槽付き引張試験機にセットした。セットは、試験機の一方のチャックが第1の自由端を把持すると共に、他方のチャックが第2の自由端を把持するように実施した。次に、試験機及び試験サンプルの環境温度を評価温度(80℃)に制御した。環境温度が評価温度に達してから5分間静置した後、試験速度300mm/分にて双方の自由端を互いに反対方向に引っ張ることによる引きはがし試験を実施した。試験開始後、初期状態からの引張距離(チャック間の拡張距離)が10mmに達するまでに測定された初期の測定値(応力値)は無視し、その後、初期状態からの引張距離が80mmに達するまでに測定された応力の値の平均値を高温粘着力とした。

- 前記エネルギーの照射による表面改質が、コロナ処理、プラズマ処理及び紫外線処理から選ばれる少なくとも1種である、請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の光学積層体。
- 請求項1~7のいずれか1項に記載の光学積層体と、
画像形成層と、を備える、画像表示装置。 - 光学基材の表面に配置されて使用される粘着剤組成物であって、
シランカップリング剤を含み、
前記シランカップリング剤は、イソシアヌル環を含有し、イソシアネート基を含有せず、
前記粘着剤組成物が配置される前記表面は、エネルギーの照射による表面改質がなされた改質面である、粘着剤組成物。
