Abstract

携帯用研磨機は、研磨機本体と、バッテリホルスタと、電源コードとを備える。研磨機本体は、モータを収容する本体ハウジングと、モータの回転によりオービタル運動するように構成された研磨部と、を備える。バッテリホルスタは、バッテリを装着可能なバッテリ装着部を備える。電源コードは、バッテリ装着部に装着されたバッテリの電力を研磨機本体へ供給するように構成されている。電源コードは、研磨機本体とバッテリホルスタとをハウジングを介さずに接続する。

Description

携帯用研磨機
 本開示は、携帯用研磨機に関する。
 研磨パッドをオービタル運動させるように構成されたサンダが知られている。特開2013-129014号には、ハウジングの外面にバッテリ装着部が形成されており、バッテリの電力がモータに供給されて研磨パッドが回転運動及び偏心運動する、いわゆるランダムオービットサンダが記載されている。
 特開2013-129014号記載のサンダでは、比較的に重量の嵩むバッテリをサンダ中央の出力軸に近づけるようにバッテリ装着部を配置することで、サンダの重量バランスを良好にして、操作性や安定性を向上させている。しかし、特許文献1記載の技術によらず、研磨パッドをオービタル運動させるように構成された携帯用研磨機の操作性を向上可能な新規な技術が求められていた。
 本開示は、以下の形態として実現することが可能である。
 本開示の第1の形態によれば、携帯用研磨機が提供される。前記携帯用研磨機は、研磨機本体と、バッテリホルスタと、電源コードとを備える。前記研磨機本体は、モータを収容する本体ハウジングと、前記モータの回転によりオービタル運動するように構成された研磨部とを備える。前記バッテリホルスタは、バッテリを着脱可能に装着するバッテリ装着部を備える。前記電源コードは、前記バッテリ装着部に装着された前記バッテリの電力を前記研磨機本体へ供給するように構成されている。前記電源コードは、前記研磨機本体と前記バッテリホルスタとをハウジングを介さずに連結するように構成されている。
 この形態によれば、比較的に重量の嵩むバッテリはバッテリホルスタの備えるバッテリ装着部に装着されるので、研磨機本体の重量を少なくすることができる。そのため、携帯用研磨機の操作性を向上させることができる。また、オービタル運動によって発生する振動が、バッテリ装着部に伝わることを抑制できるので、バッテリ装着部及びバッテリ装着部に装着されるバッテリを長寿命化することができる。

 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記電源コードは、前記研磨機本体と接続する第1コネクタを備えていてもよい。前記研磨機本体は、前記第1コネクタと接続して前記バッテリの電力を前記モータへ供給するように構成された第2コネクタを備えていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、電源コードが研磨機本体に予め着脱不能に接続されている構成と比較して、携帯用研磨機の取り扱いが容易になる。また、バッテリホルスタ及び電源コードを、第2コネクタを有する他の携帯用研磨機に接続して使用することができる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記モータの回転軸は上下方向に延在し、前記研磨部は前記本体ハウジングに対して下側に位置していてもよい。前記本体ハウジングの上端部には、ユーザが把持可能な形状を有する主把持部が設けられていてもよい。前記主把持部の上方から前記上下方向(前記回転軸方向)に前記主把持部及び前記モータをみたときに、前記主把持部は、前記主把持部の外縁が前記モータの外縁を囲うように(前記主把持部の外縁が、前記モータの外縁よりも外側に位置するように)前記モータとオーバーラップして配置されていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、ユーザは、主把持部を把持して研磨機本体を下方に押し付けることで、容易に研磨作業を行うことができるとともに、研磨部のオービタル運動によって発生する振動を効果的に抑えることができる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記研磨機本体は、前記主把持部に接続されて前記回転軸に交差する方向に延在する補助把持部を更に備えていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、ユーザは、主把持部を一方の手で把持しつつ、補助把持部を他方の手で把持して、研磨機本体を加工材に押し付けて研磨作業を行うことができるので、研磨作業を安定化させることができる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記研磨機本体は、前記研磨部が加工材を研磨することで生成された粉塵を排出するように構成された集塵ノズルを備えていてもよい。前記集塵ノズルは、前記上下方向において前記補助把持部の下方に設けられていてもよい。前記補助把持部の上方から、前記上下方向に前記補助把持部と前記集塵ノズルとをみたときに、前記集塵ノズルは、前記補助把持部とオーバーラップして配置されていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、集塵ノズルは、上下方向において補助把持部とオーバーラップする位置に配置されるので、研磨機本体を小型化できる。また、集塵ノズルが研磨作業の妨げにならないので、携帯用研磨機の操作性を向上できる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記第2コネクタは、前記補助把持部の延在方向のうち、前記主把持部から離れる側の端部に設けられていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、第2コネクタは、研磨機本体のうち、研磨部から離れた位置に配置されるので、電源コードが研磨作業の妨げになることを抑制できる。また、補助把持部をユーザ側に、研磨部をユーザから遠い側に配置し、バッテリホルスタをユーザに装着して研磨作業を行う場合には、電源コードはユーザの身体付近に位置するので、電源コードが研磨作業の妨げになることをより抑制できる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記補助把持部の延在方向を前後方向とし、前記補助把持部が前記主把持部とが接続する側を前側、その反対側を後側と定義した場合に、前記集塵ノズルの後端部は、前記粉塵を貯留可能な集塵容器を着脱可能に装着するように構成されていてもよい。また、前記研磨部は、前記モータにより駆動される研磨パッドを含んでいてもよい。更に、前記電源コードは、前記携帯用研磨機の状態が、第1状態である場合に、前記集塵容器に接触しないように構成されていてもよい。前記第1状態は、(i)~(iv)を満たす状態であってもよい。(i)前記集塵ノズルに前記集塵容器が装着されている。(ii)前記研磨パッドが平面に載置されている。(iii)前記バッテリホルスタと前記研磨機本体とが前記電源コードによって接続されている。(iv)前記バッテリホルスタの自重が前記電源コードに加わらないように前記バッテリホルスタが配置されている。
 上記形態によれば、携帯用研磨機は、第1状態である場合に集塵容器と電源コードとが接触しないように(離間するように)構成されているので、オービタル運動によって発生する振動により、集塵容器と電源コードとが擦れ合う(摩擦する)ことが抑制される。そのため、電源コードの耐久性を向上させることができ、その結果、携帯用研磨機の耐久性を向上させることができる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記第1状態は、更に、前記バッテリホルスタが、以下の(a)~(c)を満たす状態であってもよい。(a)前記バッテリホルスタは、前記集塵容器の後端よりも後方に配置されている。(b)前記バッテリホルスタにおける前記電源コードとの接続部は、上方に向けられている。(c)前記バッテリホルスタは、前記電源コードが下方に伸長されたときの前記電源コードの下端位置よりも上方に配置されている。なお、電源コードが下方に伸長されるとは、電源コードに撓みがない状態で、電源コードが研磨機本体よりも下方の位置まで垂れ下がった状態でもある。電源コードが下方に伸長されるとは、電源コードが伸びきった状態ということもできる。
 上記形態によれば、第1状態は、バッテリホルスタが(a)~(c)を満たす配置(姿勢)であることを含んでもよく、携帯用研磨機は、当該第1状態である場合に、集塵容器と電源コードとが接触しないように構成されている。そのため、オービタル運動によって発生する振動により、集塵容器と電源コードとが擦れ合うことが効果的に抑制される。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記電源コードは、コード本体と、カバーとを含んでいてもよい。前記コード本体は、前記バッテリ装着部に装着された前記バッテリと前記研磨機本体とを導通するように構成されていてもよい。前記カバーは、前記第1コネクタから後方に延出され、前記コード本体の一部を覆うように構成されていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、カバーは、コード本体をカバーの延在方向(後方)へと導くので、コード本体が集塵容器に接触することを抑制できる。そのため、コード本体の耐久性を向上させることができる。なお、「コード本体の一部を覆う」とは、前記コード本体の全長のうちの一部において、前記コード本体の外側(外周、径方向外側)を取り囲むことであってもよい。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記カバーの可撓性は、前記コード本体の可撓性よりも小さくてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、カバーは、カバーの可撓性がコード本体の可撓性よりも小さく構成されているので、コード本体を自身の延在方向(後方)へ導くことができる。そのため、コード本体が集塵容器に接触することを、より抑制できる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記集塵ノズルの前記後端部に前記集塵容器が装着された場合に、前記カバーは、前記集塵容器の上方に位置していてもよい。更に、前記カバーは、前記前後方向において、前記集塵容器に対し30%以上オーバーラップするように構成されていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、カバーは、集塵容器に対し30%以上オーバーラップして、集塵容器の上方に位置するので、コード本体を自身の延在方向(後方)へ導きつつ、コード本体が集塵容器に接触することを、効果的に抑制できる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記カバーは、前記携帯用研磨機の状態が前記第1状態である場合に、前記平面を含む第1仮想平面と前記カバーの中心を通る軸線とが交差し、前記第1コネクタから後方かつ上方へ延在するように構成されていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、後方かつ上方へ延在するカバーにより、コード本体を後方かつ上方へ導くことができる。そのため、コード本体が集塵容器に接触することを、効果的に抑制できる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記カバーは、前記携帯用研磨機の状態が前記第1状態である場合に、前記平面を含む第1仮想平面と、前記研磨パッドの後端を通り前記集塵容器の下端に接触する第2仮想平面と、の成す角が、5°以上となるように構成されていてもよい。また、前記カバーは、前記第1仮想平面と前記第2仮想平面との成す角が、15°以下となるように構成されていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、研磨作業中に、集塵容器が振動したり、研磨部の前端が僅かに上方へ持ち上げられても、集塵容器の下端が加工材に接触することが抑制される。そのため、集塵容器が接続される研磨機本体の耐久性が低下することを抑制できる。また、集塵容器が加工材に接触して加工材にダメージが加わることを抑制できるので、研磨精度を向上させることができる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記電源コードは、前記携帯用研磨機の状態が前記第1状態である場合に、前記平面を含む第1仮想平面と前記コード本体との交点から前記コード本体へ引いた接線と、前記カバーの中心を通る軸線と、の成す角が、55°以上になるように構成されていてもよい。また、前記電源コードは、前記接線と前記軸線との成す角が、90°以下となるように構成されていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、上記接線と上記軸線との成す角を55°以上とすることで、コード本体が集塵容器に接触することを効果的に抑制することができる。また、上記接線と軸線との成す角を90°以下とすることで、コード本体は、研磨機本体から過度に後方に延在しすぎることなく、研磨機本体の後方で下方に屈曲するので、コード本体が研磨作業の妨げになることを抑制できる。そのため、電源コードの耐久性及び携帯用研磨機の操作性を向上させることができる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記コード本体は、前記携帯用研磨機の状態が前記第1状態である場合に、前記研磨機本体よりも後方の第1位置で前記平面を含む第1仮想平面と交差してもよい。前記第1位置は、前記研磨機本体の後端から、前記研磨機本体の前記前後方向における長さ分後方の位置よりも、前方の位置であってもよい。
 上記形態によれば、コード本体は、研磨機本体から過度に後方に延在しすぎることなく、研磨機本体の後方で下方に屈曲する。そのため、コード本体が研磨作業の妨げになることを抑制できるので、携帯用研磨機の操作性を向上できる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記研磨機本体は、前記後端部に前記集塵容器が装着された状態で前記前後方向における質量が所定の釣り合い点で釣り合うように構成されていてもよい。前記釣り合い点は、前記補助把持部に設けられていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、前後方向に延在する補助把持部において、集塵容器が装着された研磨機本体の前後方向の質量(質量モーメント)が釣り合うので、携帯用研磨機の操作性を向上できる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記研磨機本体は、前記集塵容器の前記前後方向における長さの中間点と、前記釣り合い点と、の距離が、0.150m(メートル)以上になるように構成されていてもよい。また、前記研磨機本体は、前記集塵容器の前記前後方向における長さの中間点と、前記釣り合い点との距離が、0.200m以下になるように構成されていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、研磨機本体に集塵容器が取り付けられた場合において、携帯用研磨機の操作性を向上させることができる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記研磨機本体は、前記モータの前記回転軸と前記釣り合い点との距離が、0.040m以上になるように構成されていてもよい。また、前記研磨機本体は、回転軸と前記釣り合い点との距離が、0.100m以下になるように構成されていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、研磨機本体の前後方向長さを研磨作業に適した長さとしつつ、釣り合い点とモータの回転軸との距離が大きくなりすぎることを抑制できる。そのため、携帯用研磨機の操作性を向上させることができる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記携帯用研磨機は、前記釣り合い点から前記モータの前記回転軸までの部分の質量モーメントが、0.20Nm(ニュートン・メートル)以上になるように構成されていてもよい。また、前記携帯用研磨機は、前記質量モーメントが、0.50Nm以下になるように構成されていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、釣り合い点から前部分の質量モーメントが大きくなりすぎることを抑制できる。そのため、持ち運びに適した形態用研磨機を提供することができる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記バッテリホルスタはフックを含んでいてもよい。前記フックは、前記バッテリホルスタをユーザに装着可能に構成されていてもよい。前記コード本体の長さは、0.80m以上であってもよい。また、前記コード本体の長さは、2.0m以下であってもよい。
 上記形態によれば、ユーザは、フックによってバッテリホルスタをベルト等に装着し、研磨作業を行うことができる。また、コード本体の長さが0.80m以上であるので、ユーザが腕を伸ばしても、バッテリホルスタと研磨機本体との間でコード本体が引っ張られることを抑制できる。また、コード本体の長さは、2.0m以下であるので、コード本体が研磨作業の妨げになることを抑制することができる。そのため、サンダ1の操作性を向上させることができる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記集塵ノズルの前記後端部は、前記粉塵を吸引する吸引装置に接続されるホースに着脱可能に構成されていてもよい。前記バッテリホルスタは、前記吸引装置に取付け可能な取付部を備えていてもよい。前記コード本体の長さは、2.0m以上であってもよい。また、前記コード本体の長さは、6.0m以下であってもよい。
 上記形態によれば、研磨機本体と吸引装置との間でコード本体が引っ張られることや、コード本体が研磨作業の妨げになることを抑制できる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記携帯用研磨機は、前記集塵容器を含んでいてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、携帯用研磨機は、第1状態である場合に集塵容器と電源コードとが接触しないように構成されているので、オービタル運動によって発生する振動によって、集塵容器と電源コードとが擦れ合うことが抑制される。そのため、電源コードの耐久性を向上させることができ、その結果、携帯用研磨機の耐久性を向上させることができる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記研磨機本体は、更に、前記モータの回転を制御するように構成されたコントローラを備えていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、コントローラとモータとの接続は研磨機本体内において行われるので、バッテリホルスタにコントローラを配置する場合に比べて、電源コードを細く構成することができる。そのため、電源コードが研磨作業の妨げになることをより抑制することができる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記コントローラは、前記上下方向において前記補助把持部と前記集塵ノズルとの間に配置されていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、研磨機本体を小型化することができ、携帯用研磨機の操作性を向上できる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記バッテリホルスタは、前記モータの回転を制御するように構成されたコントローラを備えていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、研磨作業時のオービタル運動による振動がコントローラに伝わることを抑制できるので、コントローラを長寿命化することができる。また、研磨機本体がコントローラを備える構成と比較して、研磨機本体を小型化することができる。
 1つ又はそれ以上の実施形態において、前記バッテリホルスタは、前記バッテリ装着部に装着される前記バッテリを備えていてもよい。
 上記形態によれば、バッテリホルスタにバッテリが装着されるので、研磨機本体を軽量化することができる。そのため、研磨機本体の操作性を向上できる。
<第1実施形態>
 以下、図1から図6までを参照して、携帯用研磨機の一実施形態としてのサンダ1について説明する。サンダ1は、サンダ本体10と、バッテリホルスタ80と、サンダ本体10とバッテリホルスタ80とを接続する電源コード70とを備える。サンダ1は、ランダムオービットサンダとも呼ばれる。
 サンダ本体10は、ハウジング20と、研磨部50とを備える。ハウジング20は、モータ40(図4参照)を収容する本体ハウジング21と、コントローラ60を収容するコントローラ収容部35と、ハンドル部30と、を備える。研磨部50は、モーターシャフト42の回転軸A1の延在方向のうちの一方側に配置され、モータ40の回転により偏心運動及び回転運動(ランダムオービット運動)するように構成されている。ハンドル部30は、モーターシャフト42の延在方向のうち、研磨部50が配置される側とは反対の他方側において本体ハウジング21に接続され、本体ハウジング21から離れる方向へ延在する。サンダ本体10は、全体の重量が約1.0kgの小型サンダである。
 以下では、説明の便宜上、回転軸A1の延在方向を上下方向と定義し、本体ハウジング21に対し研磨部50が位置する側を下側、その反対側を上側と定義する。また、上下方向に直交する方向のうち、ハンドル部30が延在する方向を前後方向と定義し、前後方向のうち、ハンドル部30における本体ハウジング21との接続部(ハンドル部30の第1端部31)が位置する側を前側、その反対側を後側と定義する。更に、前後方向と上下方向とに直交する方向を、左右方向と定義する。
 図1から図4に示すように、本体ハウジング21は、上下方向に沿って形成されている。本体ハウジング21の上端部23及び下端部24の外径は、本体ハウジング21の上下方向における中間部22の外径よりも大きく形成されている。本体ハウジング21の上端部23の前端には、モータ40の起動と停止とを切り替えるためのスイッチ65が設けられている。
 本体ハウジング21の上端部23は、ユーザが把持するのに適した大きさ及び形状を有している。本体ハウジング21の上端部23は、サンダ本体10の把持部(以下、主把持部25)として機能する。主把持部25は、図3及び図4に示すように、上面視において略円形状に形成されている。主把持部25は、主把持部25の上方から回転軸A1方向に主把持部25及びモータ40を見たとき、主把持部25の外縁がモータ40の外縁を囲うように、モータ40とオーバーラップする形状及び大きさを有する。
 ハンドル部30は、主把持部25に第1端部31が接続され、主把持部25から後方へ、前後方向に沿って延在している。ハンドル部30の後端部(第2端部32)には、後述する第2コネクタ53が設けられている。ハンドル部30の左右方向の幅は、ユーザが握るのに適した幅に形成されている。また、ハンドル部30の上端と主把持部25の上端とは、平滑に形成されている。ユーザは、一方の手で主把持部25を把持し、他方の手でハンドル部30を把持して研磨作業を行うことができる。また、ユーザは、一方の手で主把持部25を把持したとき、ハンドル部30に当該一方の手の手首付近を配置することもできる。ハンドル部30は、サンダ本体10の補助把持部として機能する。
 コントローラ収容部35は、ハンドル部30の下側に配置され、前後方向に延在している。コントローラ収容部35は、本体ハウジング21の中間部22の後端下部に接続されており、当該接続箇所から後方上側へと延在している。コントローラ収容部35の後部の上側部分は、ハンドル部30の後部の下側部分と接続されている。コントローラ収容部35の前部の上側部分とハンドル部30の前部の下側部分との間は、ハウジング20を左右方向に貫通する貫通孔38を構成している。
 コントローラ収容部35の下側には、集塵ノズル39が配置されている。集塵ノズル39は、前後方向に延在している。集塵ノズル39は、本体ハウジング21の下端部24の後端に連通している。集塵ノズル39は、本体ハウジング21の下端部24との接続箇所から後方上側へ傾斜するように設けられている。集塵ノズル39の後端部391は、ハンドル部30よりも後側に突出している。本実施形態では、集塵ノズル39の後端部391には、集塵パック105が接続されている。加工材の研磨作業によって生成された粉塵は、研磨パッド51に設けられた透孔から、本体ハウジング21の下端部24と集塵ノズル39とを介して集塵パック105に排出される。 
 図3に示すように、ハンドル部30の上方から上下方向にハンドル部30とコントローラ収容部35と集塵ノズル39とをみたとき、コントローラ収容部35及び集塵ノズル39は、ハンドル部30とオーバーラップして配置されている。コントローラ収容部35は、上下方向においてハンドル部30と集塵ノズル39との間に配置され、左右方向においてハンドル部30及び集塵ノズル39よりも僅かに大きく形成されている。
 図4に示すように、本体ハウジング21に収容されるモータ40は、ステータ及びロータを備えるモータ本体41と、上下方向に延在するモーターシャフト42とを備える。モーターシャフト42は、本体ハウジング21に保持されたベアリング44、45に支持されている。
 モーターシャフト42の下端には、上下方向に延在するボルト46を介してファン47が直交状に固定されている。ファン47は、本体ハウジング21の下端部24に配置されている。
 ファン47には、モーターシャフト42の回転軸A1に偏心させて設けたベアリング48を介して、ベアリングボックス49がさらに偏心させて組付けられている。
 研磨部50は、研磨パッド51を備える。研磨パッド51は、円盤状に形成されており、サンディングペーパーが装着可能である。研磨パッド51は、上下方向に延在するボルト56によって、ベアリングボックス49に結合されている。研磨パッド51の底面は、サンダ本体10の使用時に、加工材を研磨する研磨面として機能する。本実施形態では、研磨部50の駆動軸は、モータ40の回転軸A1でもある。サンダ本体10では、モータ40が回転すると、その回転がモーターシャフト42に偏心するベアリング48を介してベアリングボックス49へ伝わることで、ベアリングボックス49と研磨パッド51とが、偏心運動及び回転運動をする。
 ハンドル部30の第2端部32には、第2コネクタ53が設けられている。第2コネクタ53は、ハンドル部30の第2端部32において、ハンドル部30の上端から後方下部へ傾斜する傾斜壁34に設けられている。第2コネクタ53は、正負の電源端子及び通信端子を含む端子部54と、端子部54を囲み傾斜壁34から斜め上方へ突出する筒壁55とを備える。第2コネクタ53には、後述する電源コード70の第1コネクタ71が着脱可能に接続される。
 コントローラ収容部35に収容されるコントローラ60は、第2コネクタ53とモータ40とに電気的に接続されている。コントローラ60は、各種の回路を備えており、バッテリホルスタ80に装着されたバッテリ101からモータ40へ供給される電力を制御することによって、モータ40の動作を制御するように構成されている。
 図1及び図2に示すように、ハンドル部30の後部における右壁には、アダプタ収容部36が設けられている。アダプタ収容部36は、ハンドル部30の後端の側壁が窪んだ部位である。アダプタ収容部36には、図4に示すように、無線通信アダプタ61が差し込まれて装着される。無線通信アダプタ61は、コントローラ60と電気的に接続される。無線通信アダプタ61は、他の付帯設備との間で無線通信をする。付帯設備は、例えば、集塵ノズル39に接続可能な、切屑を吸引する集塵機である。無線通信によって、付帯設備の起動動作や停止動作がサンダ本体10の起動動作や停止動作と連動する。無線通信アダプタ61は、予め付帯設備に取り付けられた無線通信アダプタ61との間で無線通信可能とするための関連付け(ペアリング)がなされる。ペアリングは、無線通信アダプタ61が有するボタンと、付帯設備の無線通信アダプタ61が同様に有するボタンと、を共に押し操作することでなされる。ボタンは、例えば、WPS機能又はAOSS機能を起動させるためのボタンである。ペアリングがなされた状態で、ユーザがサンダ本体10のスイッチ65をオン操作してサンダ本体10を起動させると、係る起動情報が無線通信アダプタ61から付帯設備に送信される。付帯設備が無線通信アダプタ61からの信号を受信し、信号に基づいて起動する。無線通信ができる状態は無線通信アダプタ61に設けられたランプの点灯によって知ることができる。
 次に、図1、図2、図5及び図6を用いて、バッテリホルスタ80及び電源コード70について説明する。バッテリホルスタ80は、ブロック状のバッテリホルスタ本体部81と、バッテリ装着部85と、フック86とを備える。バッテリホルスタ80は、電源コード70の一端72が物理的に接続されたバッテリホルスタ側接続部87を備えている。
 図5及び図6では、バッテリ装着部85に装着されたバッテリ101を下にして置き、バッテリホルスタ側接続部87を前側に配置し、バッテリホルスタ側接続部87に接続された電源コード70を前後方向に配置したときのバッテリホルスタ80及び電源コード70を示している。
 バッテリ装着部85は、バッテリホルスタ本体部81の下部に形成された開口凹部(不図示)に設けられている。バッテリ装着部85は、前後方向に延びる左右一対のスライドレールと、正負の電源端子と通信端子とを備える。一対のスライドレールは、バッテリ101の備える一対のレール受け部と係合可能に構成されている。バッテリ装着部85の後部から、バッテリ装着部85に対してバッテリ101が取付方向(後から前)へスライドされることで、一対のレール受け部がスライドレールに係合し、バッテリ101はバッテリ装着部85に取り付けられる。バッテリ101がバッテリ装着部85に取り付けられると、バッテリ装着部85の正負の電源端子と通信端子とは、バッテリ101の正負の電源端子と通信端子とに、それぞれ、電気的に接続される。
 フック86は、バッテリホルスタ本体部81の後上部から上方及び前方に突出している。フック86は、バッテリホルスタ80をユーザの衣服やベルトに取り付け可能に形成されている。フック86は、バッテリホルスタ80をユーザに装着するための装着部でもある。
 バッテリホルスタ側接続部87は、バッテリホルスタ本体部81の前端から突出した部分である。バッテリホルスタ側接続部87は、電源コード70の一端72と物理的に接続する。
 本実施形態のバッテリホルスタ80は、バッテリ101が装着されたときの重量が、約0.7kg~1.0kgである。そのため、サンダ本体10に対する、バッテリ101が装着されたバッテリホルスタ80の重量比は、比較的大きい。
 電源コード70は、サンダ本体10とバッテリホルスタ80とを電気的に接続するとともに、サンダ本体10とバッテリホルスタ80とをハウジングを介さずに物理的に接続(連結)する。電源コード70は、ハウジングで覆われていないということもできる。電源コード70は、コード本体73と、第1コネクタ71とを備える。
 コード本体73は、バッテリ101の電力をサンダ本体10に供給するための電源線を保護用のチューブで覆うことで構成されている。チューブは、ポリ塩化ビニル樹脂(PVC)により形成されている。チューブは、他の合成樹脂、例えば、ゴムや、ゴム混合物により形成されてもよい。当該電源線は、バッテリ装着部85に設けられた電源端子と電気的に接続されている。コード本体73は、電源線に加え、コントローラ60がバッテリ101の異常を検出するための信号線を備えていてもよい。
 第1コネクタ71は、コード本体73の一端72とは反対の端部に設けられている。第1コネクタ71は、コード本体73の電源線に接続された端子部74と、端子部74の周囲に設けられた筒状の係合部75とを備える。コード本体73の第1コネクタ71周辺は、第1コネクタ71に向けて外径が広がる略円錐筒状のカバー76で覆われている。
 第1コネクタ71は、サンダ本体10の第2コネクタ53に着脱可能に構成されている。本実施形態では、第1コネクタ71と第2コネクタ53とは、第1コネクタ71の係合部75が第2コネクタ53の筒壁55に嵌め込まれたときに、第1コネクタ71の端子部74と第2コネクタ53の端子部54とが電気的に接続するように構成されている。
 以上のように構成されたサンダ1では、バッテリホルスタ80のバッテリ装着部85にバッテリ101が装着され、ユーザによりサンダ本体10のスイッチ65がオンされると、バッテリ101の電力が電源コード70を介してサンダ本体10へ供給可能となる。本実施形態では、バッテリ101の電力は、バッテリ装着部85の電源端子と、コード本体73の電源線と、第1コネクタ71の端子部74と、第2コネクタ53の端子部54とを介して、コントローラ60に供給される。コントローラ60は、モータ40とリード線(電源線及び信号線)によって接続されており、モータ40へ供給される電力を制御する。モータ40が回転すると、研磨部50(研磨パッド51)は偏心運動及び回転運動(ランダムオービット運動)し、加工材の研磨作業が可能となる。
 第1実施形態のサンダ1によれば、サンダ本体10は、オービタル運動するように構成された研磨部50を備える。比較的重量の嵩むバッテリ101は、バッテリホルスタ80のバッテリ装着部85に装着され、サンダ本体10とバッテリホルスタ80とは、ハウジングを介さずに、電源コード70によって接続されている。そのため、サンダ本体10にバッテリ101が装着されないので、サンダ本体にバッテリ101を装着する構成と比較して、研磨作業時のサンダ本体10の重量を少なくすることができる。したがって、サンダ本体10ならびにサンダ1の操作性を向上させることができる。
 また、第1実施形態のサンダ1によれば、サンダ本体10の重量は、サンダ本体がバッテリを備える構成と比較して少ないので、加工材の位置が鉛直方向の下向きでない場合等、ユーザがサンダ本体10を支えて研磨作業を行う場合にも、サンダ本体10を容易に操作することができる。また、研磨作業においてユーザにかかる負担を軽減することができる。
 また、オービタル運動するように構成されたサンダでは、オービタル運動しないものと比べ研磨の精度向上等の性能の良好化と引き替えに振動が発生し易くなる場合がある。しかし、本実施形態のサンダ1では、サンダ本体10にバッテリ101が装着されないので、オービタル運動によって発生する振動が、バッテリ装着部85やバッテリ101に伝わり難い。そのため、バッテリ装着部85及びバッテリ101を長寿命化することができる。
 サンダ1によれば、ユーザは、フック86によってバッテリホルスタ80をユーザに装着して、研磨作業を行うことができる。また、バッテリホルスタ80とサンダ本体10とはハウジング20を介さずに、電源コード70によって接続される。そのため、バッテリホルスタ80とサンダ本体10とがハウジングで接続されている構成と比較して、バッテリホルスタ80とサンダ本体10との位置関係の自由度を高めることができる。
 サンダ本体10の本体ハウジング21はモータ40を収容しており、研磨部50は、本体ハウジング21の下方に設けられている。また、本体ハウジング21の上端には、主把持部25が設けられている。主把持部25の上方から回転軸A1方向に主把持部25及びモータ40を見たとき、主把持部25の外縁がモータ40の外縁を囲うように、モータ40とオーバーラップして配置されている。そのため、ユーザは、主把持部25を把持してサンダ本体10を下方に押し付けることで、容易に研磨作業を行うことができるとともに、研磨部50のオービタル運動によって発生する振動に効果的に対処することができる。
 また、サンダ本体10は、主把持部25から後方へ延在するハンドル部30を備える。そのため、ユーザは、主把持部25を一方の手で把持しつつ、ハンドル部30を他方の手で把持して、サンダ本体10を加工材に押し付けて研磨作業を行うことができるので、安定して研磨作業を行うことができる。
また、ユーザは、一方の手で主把持部25を把持したとき、ハンドル部30に当該一方の手の手首付近を配置することもできる。こうすることで、片手で主把持部25を把持して研磨作業を行うとき、ユーザの手首付近をハンドル部30で支えることができるので、ユーザの手や手首にかかる負担を軽減することができる。
 サンダ本体10は、電源コード70の第1コネクタ71を着脱可能に構成された、第2コネクタ53を備える。そのため、電源コード70及びバッテリホルスタ80と、サンダ本体10とを分けて持ち運んだり収納したりすることができるので、電源コード70がサンダ本体に予め着脱不能に接続されている構成と比較して、サンダ1全体の取り扱いが容易になる。また、バッテリホルスタ80及び電源コード70を、第2コネクタ53を有する他の携帯用研磨機に接続して使用することができる。
 第2コネクタ53は、主把持部25から後方に延在するハンドル部30の後端部(第2端部32)に設けられている。そのため、第2コネクタ53は、サンダ本体10のうち、研磨部50から離れた位置に配置されるので、電源コード70が研磨作業の妨げになることを抑制できる。また、ハンドル部30をユーザ側に、研磨部50をユーザから遠い側に配置し、バッテリホルスタ80をフック86によってユーザに装着して研磨作業を行う場合には、電源コード70はユーザの身体付近に位置するので、電源コード70が研磨作業の妨げになることをより抑制できる。
 また、サンダ本体10は集塵ノズル39を備えており、集塵ノズル39は、ハンドル部30の上方から上下方向にハンドル部30と集塵ノズル39とをみたとき、ハンドル部30とオーバーラップする位置に配置されている。そのため、集塵ノズル39を備えることでサンダ本体10が大型化することを抑制でき、サンダ本体10をコンパクトに構成することができる。
 また、サンダ本体10がコントローラ60を備えるので、バッテリホルスタがコントローラ60を備え、電源コード70のコード本体73内に、コントローラ60とモータ40とを接続するリード線を配置する場合と比較して、コード本体73を細く構成することができる。したがって、コード本体73が研磨作業の妨げになることをいっそう抑制することができる。
 コントローラ60は、上下方向においてハウジング20のハンドル部30と集塵ノズル39との間の部分(コントローラ収容部35)に収容されている。そのため、サンダ本体10をコンパクトに構成することができる。また、コントローラ収容部35が研磨作業の妨げにならないので、サンダ1の操作性を向上することができる。
 図7から図9には、以下の(i)~(iv)を満たす状態(以下、第1状態とも呼ぶ)のサンダ1が示されている。本実施形態のサンダ1は、第1状態である場合に、集塵パック105と電源コード70とが接触しないように構成されている。
(i)集塵ノズル39に集塵パック105が接続されている。
(ii)研磨パッド51が平面に載置されている。
 なお、平面は、上下方向に直交する面(水平面)である。平面は、例えば、加工面であってもよい。図8及び図9には、当該平面を含む、仮想的な平面(第1仮想平面P1)が図示されている。
(iii)バッテリホルスタ80とサンダ本体10とが、電源コード70によって接続されている。
 図7から図9に示す例では、第1コネクタ71と第2コネクタ53とが接続されている。
(iv)バッテリホルスタ80の自重が電源コード70に加わらないように、バッテリホルスタ80が配置されている。
 図8及び図9に示す例では、バッテリホルスタ80が、第1仮想平面P1よりも下方にある所定の面(不図示)に載置されている。
(iv)の条件は、バッテリホルスタ80がフック86によってユーザのベルト等に装着され、ユーザがサンダ本体10(サンダ1)を用いた研磨作業を行う場合に、満たされ得る。
 本実施形態では、第1状態は、更に、サンダ1が以下の(a)~(c)を満たす状態であることを含んでいる。以下の(a)~(c)は、主に、バッテリホルスタ80の状態(姿勢、配置)に関する。
(a)バッテリホルスタ80が、集塵パック105の後端112よりも後方に配置されている。
 図9には、集塵パック105の後端112を通り、前後方向に直交する仮想的な平面(第4仮想平面P4)が示されている。本実施形態では、バッテリホルスタ80は、第4仮想平面P4よりも後方に位置している。
(b)バッテリホルスタ80における電源コード70との接続部分が、上方に向けられている。
 図9に示す例では、バッテリホルスタ80(バッテリホルスタ側接続部87)における、電源コード70の一端72と接続される部分が、上方に向けられている。
(c)バッテリホルスタ80は、電源コード70が下方に伸長されたときの電源コード70の下端位置よりも、上方に配置されている。
 図9には、コード本体73が下方に伸長されたときにおける電源コード70の下端(一端72)を通り、上下方向に直交する仮想的な平面(第5仮想平面P5)が示されている。図9に示す例では、バッテリホルスタ80は、第5仮想平面P5よりも上方に位置している。なお、電源コード70(コード本体73)が下方に伸長されるとは、コード本体73に撓みがない状態で、コード本体73が、サンダ本体10よりも下方まで垂れ下がった状態でもある。コード本体73が下方に伸長されるとは、コード本体73が伸びきった状態ということもできる。バッテリホルスタ80の自重がコード本体73に加わっていなくとも、バッテリホルスタ80とサンダ本体10との配置関係によっては、コード本体が下方に伸長され得る。
 本実施形態のサンダ1は、上述の第1状態である場合に集塵パック105と電源コード70とが接触しないように(離間するように)構成されている。そのため、オービタル運動によって発生する振動により集塵パック105が振動しても、集塵パック105と電源コード70とが擦れ合うことが抑制される。その結果、電源コード70の摩耗が抑制される。
 特に、本実施形態のサンダ本体10は、前後方向に延在するハンドル部30を有しており、ハンドル部30の前側に振動源であるモータ40及び研磨部50が配置されている。また、集塵パック105は、ハンドル部30よりも後方に突出する、集塵ノズル39の後端部391に接続される。そのため、ユーザが、主把持部25を把持して研磨部50を加工材に押し付け、研磨作業を行う場合に、集塵パック105は、比較的大きく振動し得る。しかし、本実施形態のサンダ1によれば、集塵パック105と電源コード70とが接触しないように構成されているので、電源コード70の摩耗が抑制される。したがって、サンダ1の耐久性を向上させることができる。
 ここで、集塵パック105について説明する。本実施形態の集塵パック105は、装着部106と、集塵部107とを備える。装着部106は、集塵ノズル39の後端部391に着脱可能に構成されている。集塵部107は、装着部106に接続されて装着部106から後方に延在する。集塵部107は、集塵ノズル39から排出される粉塵を貯留し、かつ、集塵ノズル39から送出される空気を排出可能に構成されている。本実施形態では、集塵部107は、空気の排出孔を有する外部ケースと、外部ケースの内側に設けられて粉塵を貯留可能な貯留部とを含む。本実施形態では、集塵パック105は、合成樹脂により形成されている。他の実施形態では、集塵パック105は、布や紙製の容器によって形成されていてもよい。
 以下、サンダ1の耐久性や、操作性の向上に寄与する、サンダ1の各部の構成について説明する。特に、電源コード70及びサンダ本体10の構成と、電源コード70、サンダ本体10、及び、集塵パック105の位置関係とについて詳細に説明する。
 本実施形態では、電源コード70のカバー76は、第1コネクタ71から後方に延出され、コード本体73の一部を覆っている。具体的には、カバー76は、コード本体73の全長のうちの一部において、コード本体73の外側(外周、径方向外側)に配置されている。また、カバー76は、カバー76の可撓性がコード本体73(電源線を覆う保護用のチューブ)の可撓性よりも小さくなるように構成されている。このような構成により、カバー76は、コード本体73を自身の延在方向である後方へ導きつつ、コード本体73が集塵パック105に接触することを抑制している。
 カバー76は、集塵パック105の上方(直上)に、集塵パック105から離間して配置されている。カバー76の前端761は、前後方向において、集塵パック105の前端111と略同じ位置か、若干前方に位置している。また、カバー76の後端762は、集塵パック105の上方(直上)に位置している。なお、カバー76の中心(径方向中心)を通る軸線A2は、第1コネクタ71の中心を通る軸線(不図示)と略一致する。
 カバー76は、前後方向において、集塵パック105に対し30%以上オーバーラップするように構成されている。図8に示す長さL1は、集塵パック105の前端111から後端112までの長さ(前後方向長さ、全長)であり、長さL2は、集塵パック105に対してカバー76がオーバーラップする部分の長さである。本実施形態では、長さL2は、長さL1の約半分である。つまり、カバー76は、集塵パック105に対し約50%オーバーラップしている。
 カバー76は、サンダ1が第1状態である場合に、第1コネクタ71から後方かつ上方へ延在する。このとき、図8に示すように、カバー76の軸線A2と第1仮想平面P1とが交差する。言い換えると、カバー76の軸線A2と第1仮想平面P1との成す角R1は、0よりも大きい。このような構成により、カバー76は、コード本体73を後方かつ上方へと導くことができる。
 また、本実施形態では、集塵パック105の上面113と第1仮想平面P1との成す角R2は、カバー76の軸線A2と第1仮想平面P1との成す角R1よりも小さい。つまり、カバー76の後方かつ上方への傾きは、集塵パック105の傾きよりも大きい。これにより、カバー76は、コード本体73を後方かつ上方へと導きつつ、コード本体73が集塵パックの上面113に接触することを効果的に抑制できる。なお、図8では、角度R2は、図示の都合上、上面113と、第1仮想平面P1に平行な第3仮想平面P3との成す角として示されている。
 カバー76によって後方かつ上方へ導かれたコード本体73は、前後方向における所定位置で下方へ屈曲し、図8に示すように、集塵パック105の後端112よりも後方を通って、第1仮想平面P1と交差する。図8には、第1仮想平面P1とコード本体73との交点N1からコード本体73へ引いた接線A3と、カバー76の軸線A2との成す角R3が示されている。角度R3は、55°以上であることが好ましい。角度R3を55°以上とすることで、コード本体73は、集塵パック105に接触せずに集塵パック105の後方を通り、下方に屈曲する。そのため、コード本体73の摩耗を抑制できる。また、角度R3は、90°以下であることが好ましい。角度R3を90°以下とすることで、コード本体73が、集塵パック105の後端112から過度に後方に離れた位置で、下方に屈曲することを抑制することができる。そのため、コード本体73が研磨作業の妨げになることを抑制できる。つまり、角度R3が55°以上90°以下となるように電源コード70を構成することで、電源コード70(コード本体73)の耐久性の向上と、サンダ1の操作性の向上とを達成できる。
 図9には、サンダ本体10の長さ(前後方向長さ、全長)L3が示されている。本実施形態では、コード本体73が第1仮想平面P1と交差する位置N1は、サンダ本体10の後端から、サンダ本体10の長さL3分後方の位置(位置N2)よりも前方である。このようにサンダ本体10及び電源コード70を構成することで、コード本体73は、サンダ本体10から過度に後方に延在しすぎることなく、サンダ本体10の後方で下方に屈曲する。そのため、電源コード70の耐久性の向上と、サンダ1の操作性の向上とを効果的に達成できる。
 図8には、集塵パック105の下端(下面114)に接触し、かつ、研磨パッド51の後端511を通る第2仮想平面P2が示されている。第1仮想平面P1と第2仮想平面P2との成す角R4は、5°以上であることが好ましい。このような構成により、研磨作業中に、集塵パック105が振動したり、研磨部50の前端が僅かに上方へ持ち上げられても、集塵パック105の下端(下面114)が加工材に接触し難い。また、角度R4は、15°以下であることが好ましい。このような構成により、集塵パック105とコード本体73とを、上下方向にある程度離間させることができる。そのため、集塵パック105や、集塵パック105が接続される集塵ノズル39の耐久性が低下することを抑制できる。更に、集塵パック105が加工材に接触して、加工材にダメージが加わることを抑制できるので、研磨精度を向上させることができる。
 なお、コード本体73の長さは、0.80m(メートル)以上であることが好ましい。上述したように、サンダ1のバッテリホルスタ80には、フック86が設けられており、ユーザは、フック86によってバッテリホルスタ80をベルト等に装着し、研磨作業を行うことができる。また、サンダ1において、カバー76によって後方かつ上方へ導かれたコード本体73は、前後方向における所定位置で下方へ屈曲し、図8に示すように、集塵パック105の後端112よりも後方を通って、第1仮想平面P1と交差している。このような構成において、コード本体の長さを0.80m以上とすることで、ユーザの身体の大きさによらず、ユーザが腕を伸ばしても、ユーザに装着されたバッテリホルスタ80とサンダ本体10との間でコード本体73が引っ張られることを抑制できる。また、コード本体73の長さは、2.0m以下であることが好ましい。コード本体73の長さを2.0m以上とすることで、コード本体73が研磨作業の妨げになることを抑制することができる。そのため、サンダ1の操作性を向上させることができる。
 次に、サンダ1のモーメント(質量モーメント)について説明する。本実施形態のサンダ本体10は、集塵ノズル39に集塵パック105が装着された状態で、ハンドル部30の所定位置(釣り合い点C1、図9参照)で、前後方向における質量(質量モーメント)が釣り合うように構成されている。
 図9には、釣り合い点C1と、集塵パック105の前後方向における中心点C2と、コントローラ60の前後方向における中心点C3と、が示されている。また、図9には、釣り合い点C1と集塵パック105の中心点C2との距離L4と、釣り合い点C1とモータ40の回転軸A1との距離L5と、釣り合い点C1とコントローラ60の中心点C3との距離L6と、が示されている。
 距離L4は、0.150m以上であることが好ましい。また、距離L4は、0.200m以下であることが好ましい。このように構成することで、集塵パック105を、研磨作業の妨げにならない位置に配置することができる。そのため、サンダ1の操作性を向上することができる。
 距離L5は、0.040m以上であることが好ましい。また、距離L5は、0.100m以下であることが好ましい。このように構成することで、サンダ本体10の長さを把持しやすい長さとしつつ、釣り合い点C1とモータ40の回転軸A1との距離が大きくなりすぎることを抑制できる。そのため、サンダ1の操作性を向上することができる。
 釣り合い点C1からモータの回転軸A1までの質量モーメントは、0.20Nm(ニュートン・メートル)以上であることが好ましい。また、当該質量モーメントは、0.50Nm以下であることが好ましい。このように構成することで、集塵パック105が装着されたサンダ本体10の前後方向のバランスを、良好に保つことができる。また、釣り合い点C1から中心点C3までの質量モーメントが上記範囲になるように、サンダ本体10を構成することで、釣り合い点C1から前部分のモーメントが大きくなりすぎることを抑制できる。そのため、持ち運びに適したサンダ本体10を提供することができる。
 なお、本実施形態のサンダ1における、各部の形状は、以下の通りである。しかし、以下の数値は一例であり、サンダ1は、サンダ本体10とバッテリホルスタ80とをハウジングを介さずに物理的、電気的に接続する、電源コード70を備える限り、他の構成(形状)が採用されてもよい。
 釣り合い点C1から点C2までの距離L4:0.185m(メートル)
 釣り合い点C1からモータ40の回転軸A1までの距離L5:0.050m

<第2実施形態>
 図10及び図11を用いて、第2実施形態のサンダ1Aについて説明する。図10及び図11には、サンダ1Aの電源コード70とバッテリホルスタ80とは現れていないが、本実施形態のサンダ1Aは、第1実施形態で説明した電源コード70及びバッテリホルスタ80を備える。なお、以下では、上述の実施形態と同様の構成については同じ符号を用い、その詳細な説明を省略する。
 本実施形態のサンダ1Aと第1実施形態のサンダ1とが異なる主な点は、サンダ本体10Aがオービタルサンダとして構成されている点である。
 具体的には、サンダ本体10Aの研磨部50Aは、研磨パッド51Aと、研磨パッド51Aの上に設けられたベース52Aとを備えている。ベース52Aとハウジング20とは、図示しないフットによって連結されている。フットは、ベース52Aの回転を規制する。
 また、本実施形態のサンダ本体10Aでは、研磨パッド51Aは、上下方向にみたときに、前端が鋭角の略三角形状に形成されている。更に、サンダ本体10Aでは、ファン47には、モーターシャフト42の回転軸A1に偏心させて上下方向に設けたベアリング481A、482Aを介して、ベアリングボックス49Aがさらに偏心させて組付けられている。第2実施形態のサンダ1Aのその他の構成は、上述の第1実施形態のサンダ1と同様であるため、説明を省略する。
 第2実施形態のサンダ1Aは、サンダ本体10Aの研磨部50Aの回転運動が規制されている点を除いて、第1実施形態のサンダ1と同様の構成を備える。そのため、第2実施形態のサンダ1Aによっても、第1実施形態のサンダ1と同様の効果を奏する。
 なお、本実施形態のサンダ1Aは、釣り合い点C1から前部分の質量が0.700kgであり、釣り合い点C1からモータ40の回転軸A1までの部分における、質量モーメントが0.34Nm(ニュートンメートル)である。サンダ1Aにおける、電源コード70及びサンダ本体10Aの構成や、電源コード70、サンダ本体10A、及び、集塵パック105の位置関係や、サンダ1Aのモーメント(質量モーメント)は、第1実施形態と同様であるため、説明を省略する。
<第3実施形態>
 図12及び図13を用いて、第3実施形態のサンダ1Bについて説明する。本実施形態のサンダ1Bと第1実施形態のサンダ1とが異なる主な点は、サンダ本体10Bのハウジング20Bがコントローラ60を収容しておらず、バッテリホルスタ80Bのバッテリホルスタ本体部81Bがコントローラ60を収容している点である。図13に示すように、バッテリホルスタ本体部81Bは、第1実施形態のバッテリホルスタ本体部81よりも上下方向に大きく形成されており、バッテリ装着部85の上部にコントローラ60を収容している。本実施形態では、コード本体73B内には、バッテリホルスタ本体部81Bに収容されたコントローラ60と、サンダ本体10Bのモータ40とのリード線(電源線及び信号線)と、スイッチ65の操作をコントローラに伝達する信号線とが挿通されている。
 第3実施形態のサンダ1Bでは、バッテリホルスタ80Bのバッテリ装着部85にバッテリ101が装着され、ユーザによりサンダ本体10Bのスイッチ65がオンされると、バッテリ101の電力は、バッテリホルスタ本体部81Bに収容されたコントローラ60によって制御され、電源コード70Bを介してサンダ本体10Bのモータ40へと供給される。サンダ1Aのその他の構成は、第1実施形態のサンダ1と同様であるため、説明を省略する。
 以上で説明した第3実施形態のサンダ1Bによれば、サンダ本体10Bと電源コード70Bによって接続されるバッテリホルスタ80Bがコントローラ60を備えている。そのため、研磨作業時の研磨部50のオービタル運動によって発生する振動が、コントローラ60に伝わることを抑制することができる。
 また、サンダ本体10Bのハウジング20にコントローラ60を収容しないので、サンダ本体10Bをコンパクトに構成することができる。
 第3実施形態のサンダ1Bは、バッテリホルスタ80Bがコントローラ60を備えている点を除き、第1実施形態のサンダ1と同様の構成を備える。そのため、第3実施形態のサンダ1Bによっても、第1実施形態と同様の効果を奏する。
<第4実施形態>
 図14を用いて、第4実施形態のサンダ1Cについて説明する。本実施形態では、集塵ノズル39の後端部391に、ホース201が装着されており、サンダ本体10は、ホース201を介してクリーナー200に接続されている。また、本実施形態では、バッテリホルスタ80Cは、クリーナー200にバッテリホルスタを取付可能な取付部81Cを備えている。取付部81Cは、例えば、クリーナー200に係合可能なフックであってもよい。研磨作業で生じた粉塵は、クリーナー200を動作させることで、ホース201を介してクリーナー200に吸引(貯留)される。コード本体73とホース201とは、バンド205で結束されている。コード本体73の長さは、2.0m以上であることが好ましい。また、コード本体73の長さは、6.0m以下であることが好ましい。このように構成することで、サンダ本体10とクリーナー200との間でコード本体73が引っ張られることや、コード本体73が研磨作業の妨げになることを抑制できる。したがって、サンダ1Cの操作性を向上させることができる。

 上述の実施形態では、モータ40の回転軸A1は、研磨部50、50Aの駆動軸でもあった。これに対し、モータ40の回転軸A1と、研磨部50、50Aの駆動軸とは一致していなくともよい。例えば、モーターシャフトを前後方向に配置し、研磨部の駆動シャフトを上下方向に配置し、モータの回転動力を公知の伝達機構によって研磨部の駆動シャフトに伝達するにしてもよい。
 上述の実施形態は、研磨部がオービタル運動するように構成された他の携帯用研磨機に適用可能である。例えば、ポリッシャ等にも適用可能である。

  1.  携帯用研磨機であって、
     モータを収容する本体ハウジングと、前記モータの回転によりオービタル運動するように構成された研磨部と、を備える研磨機本体と、
     バッテリを装着可能なバッテリ装着部を備えるバッテリホルスタと、
     前記バッテリ装着部に装着された前記バッテリの電力を前記研磨機本体へ供給するように構成され、前記研磨機本体と前記バッテリホルスタとをハウジングを介さずに接続する、電源コードと、を備える、
     携帯用研磨機。
  2.  請求項1に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記電源コードは、前記研磨機本体と接続する第1コネクタを備え、
     前記研磨機本体は、前記第1コネクタと接続して前記バッテリの電力を前記モータへ供給するように構成された第2コネクタを備え、
     前記第1コネクタは、前記第2コネクタに着脱可能に構成されている、携帯用研磨機。
  3.  請求項1又は請求項2に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記モータの回転軸は上下方向に延在し、前記研磨部は前記本体ハウジングに対して下側に位置しており、
     前記本体ハウジングの上端部は、ユーザが把持可能な主把持部として構成されており、
     前記主把持部の上方から前記上下方向に前記主把持部及び前記モータをみたときに、前記主把持部は、前記主把持部の外縁が前記モータの外縁を囲うように前記モータとオーバーラップして配置されている、携帯用研磨機。
  4.  請求項3に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記研磨機本体は、前記主把持部に接続されて前記回転軸に交差する方向に延在する補助把持部を更に備える、携帯用研磨機。
  5.  請求項4に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記研磨機本体は、前記上下方向において前記補助把持部の下方に設けられ、前記研磨部が加工材を研磨することで生成された粉塵を排出するように構成された集塵ノズルを備え、
     前記補助把持部の上方から、前記上下方向に前記補助把持部と前記集塵ノズルとをみたときに、前記集塵ノズルは、前記補助把持部とオーバーラップして配置されている、携帯用研磨機。
  6.  請求項2に間接的に従属する請求項4又は請求項5に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記第2コネクタは、前記補助把持部の延在方向のうち、前記主把持部から離れる側の端部に設けられている、携帯用研磨機。
  7.  請求項5に従属する請求項6記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記補助把持部の延在方向を前後方向とし、前記補助把持部が前記主把持部とが接続する側を前側、その反対側を後側と定義した場合に、前記集塵ノズルの後端部は、前記粉塵を貯留可能な集塵容器を着脱可能に装着するように構成されており、
     前記研磨部は、前記モータにより駆動される研磨パッドを含み、
     前記電源コードは、前記携帯用研磨機の状態が、(i)前記集塵ノズルに前記集塵容器が装着され、(ii)前記研磨パッドが平面に載置され、(iii)前記バッテリホルスタと前記研磨機本体とが前記電源コードによって接続され、(iv)前記バッテリホルスタの自重が前記電源コードに加わらないように前記バッテリホルスタが配置された、第1状態である場合に、前記集塵容器に接触しないように構成されている、携帯用研磨機。
  8.  請求項7に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記第1状態において、(a)前記バッテリホルスタは、前記集塵容器の後端よりも後方に配置され、(b)前記バッテリホルスタにおける前記電源コードとの接続部は、上方に向けられ、(c)前記バッテリホルスタは、前記電源コードが下方に伸長されたときの前記電源コードの下端位置よりも、上方に配置される、携帯用研磨機。
  9.  請求項7又は請求項8に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記電源コードは、前記バッテリと前記研磨機本体とを導通するコード本体と、前記第1コネクタから後方に延出され前記コード本体の一部を覆うカバーと、を含む、携帯用研磨機。
  10.  請求項9に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記カバーの可撓性は、前記コード本体の可撓性よりも小さい、携帯用研磨機。
  11.  請求項9又は請求項10に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記集塵ノズルの前記後端部に前記集塵容器が装着された場合に、前記カバーは、前記集塵容器の上方に位置し、かつ、前記前後方向において前記集塵容器に対し30%以上オーバーラップするように構成されている、携帯用研磨機。
  12.  請求項9から請求項11までのいずれか一項に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記カバーは、前記携帯用研磨機の状態が前記第1状態である場合に、前記平面を含む第1仮想平面と前記カバーの中心を通る軸線とが交差し、前記第1コネクタから後方かつ上方へ延在するように構成されている、携帯用研磨機。
  13.  請求項9から請求項12までのいずれか一項に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記カバーは、前記携帯用研磨機の状態が前記第1状態である場合に、前記平面を含む第1仮想平面と、前記研磨パッドの後端を通り前記集塵容器の下端に接触する第2仮想平面と、の成す角が、5°以上15°以下となるように構成されている、携帯用研磨機。
  14.  請求項9から請求項13までのいずれか一項に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記電源コードは、前記携帯用研磨機の状態が前記第1状態である場合に、前記平面を含む第1仮想平面と前記コード本体との交点から前記コード本体へ引いた接線と、前記カバーの中心を通る軸線と、の成す角が、55°以上90°以下となるように構成されている、帯用研磨機。
  15.  請求項9から請求項14のいずれか一項に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記コード本体は、前記携帯用研磨機の状態が前記第1状態である場合に、前記研磨機本体よりも後方の第1位置で前記平面を含む第1仮想平面と交差し、
     前記第1位置は、前記研磨機本体の後端から前記研磨機本体の前記前後方向における長さと同じ長さ分後方の位置よりも前方の位置である、携帯用研磨機。

  23.  請求項1から請求項22までのいずれか一項に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記研磨機本体は、更に、前記モータの回転を制御するように構成されたコントローラを備える、携帯用研磨機。
  24.  請求項6に直接又は間接的に従属する請求項23に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記コントローラは、前記上下方向において前記補助把持部と前記集塵ノズルとの間に配置されている、携帯用研磨機。
  25.  請求項1から請求項23までのいずれか一項に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記バッテリホルスタは、前記モータの回転を制御するように構成されたコントローラを備える、携帯用研磨機。
  26.  請求項1から請求項25までのいずれか一項に記載の携帯用研磨機であって、
     前記バッテリホルスタは、前記バッテリ装着部に装着される前記バッテリを備える、携帯用研磨機。
