Abstract
The invention relates to a parking assistance system (100). The parking assistance system comprises: at least one stationary ultrasonic sensor assembly (1, 101-106), wherein the ultrasonic sensor assembly (1, 101-106) comprises an ultrasonic sensor (2) having a housing (4), an ultrasonic diaphragm (5) mechanically decoupled from the housing (4), an ultrasonic transducer element (7) for oscillation excitation and oscillation detection of the ultrasonic diaphragm (5), and a cover portion (3) situated in front of the ultrasonic diaphragm (5) and made of an acoustic metamaterial; and a control device (110) coupled to the ultrasonic sensor assembly (1, 101-106), which control device is designed to activate the ultrasonic sensor assembly (1, 101-106) in order to transmit and/or receive an ultrasonic signal (25).
