Definitions
- the invention relates to a shopping trolley basket with a side wall, which has a plurality of wires or struts, with at least one swivel joint being arranged in the region of an upper edge of the shopping trolley basket, with which at least parts of a receiving element can be moved outwards from one abutting the side wall into one from the side wall protruding position are pivotable.
- the invention also relates to a kit for assembling a receiving element according to the invention.
- Recording elements are usually used on a shopping cart to generate additional storage space.
- the subsequently published DE 10 2019 108 911 A1 shows a shopping trolley basket with an intermediate floor, which is attached to an upper edge of the shopping basket and, by means of a swivel joint, moves from a position held on the outside of the shopping basket along a circular path via a position that has meanwhile protruded outside of the shopping basket to the inside of the shopping basket can be pivoted out.
- the intermediate floor comes into contact with its end remote from the swivel joint on a separating element, which is arranged in the interior of the shopping cart and divides it.
- the separating element prevents the intermediate floor from rotating further into the interior of the shopping basket and forms a support for the rigid intermediate floor when it is loaded by goods placed on it.
- This solution has the disadvantage that an additional support is required for the load-bearing capacity of the intermediate floor with the separating element. Due to the required support in the form of the separating element, the intermediate floor can also generate an additional storage area just inside a shopping basket.
- This application sets itself the task of overcoming such disadvantages. To this end, it proposes a shopping cart with the features of claim 1 and a kit for assembling and attaching a receiving element to a side wall of a shopping cart with the features of claim 7 .
- the receiving element has a border which has two opposite sides of the frame wherein the first frame side is remote from the at least one pivot and the second frame side is proximate to, in particular adjacent to, the at least one pivot and that a flexible floor is attached to the first and second frame sides, the flexible floor being longer than the distance between the first and the second frame side of the receiving element.
- the receiving element according to the invention is able to lie with its border against the side wall of the shopping trolley basket when not in use.
- the length of the base which is in particular continuously flexible, does not prevent it from being in contact, since it can collapse or form a crease due to its flexibility and thus does not protrude on the side of the shopping trolley basket. This allows the shopping cart to be nested in a row even when the receiving element is in contact with an outside of the shopping cart basket in its preferred non-use position.
- the receiving element can be used as an additional receptacle for objects to be transported.
- the rim of the receiving element forms an opening into which an object can be inserted.
- the flexible floor hanging between the first and the second side of the frame forms a lower limit for the object inserted into the border of the receiving element.
- the feature from above or below used in the following describes a direction which is oriented at least essentially vertically in the direction of a floor, the feature from below or above describes the opposite direction thereto.
- the tensile force acting as a result on the first side of the frame causes the first side of the frame to pivot in the direction of the non-use position.
- the horizontal opening width of the border i.e. the horizontal distance between the first and the second side of the frame, is reduced. If the object inserted into the border, for example a six-pack of 1.5 l bottles, protrudes upwards from the opening formed by the border, it will be clamped between the first and second frame side due to the horizontal opening width, which is increasingly reduced in the course of the pivoting .
- the length of the flexible floor is more than twice as long as the distance between the first and the second side of the frame. Designed in this way, an object can be inserted so deeply into the receiving element that its center of gravity is not or only slightly above the border. This prevents the object from tipping out of the receiving element in the event of a sudden change in direction or impacts against the shopping trolley basket due to the center of gravity being too high. Falling out of the object from the receiving element is made more difficult by the fact that the side wall of the shopping cart forms a limitation of the movement of the flexible base if the object moves too far from the vertical and thus counteracts further tipping of the object.
- Fastening the receiving element on the outside of the front side of the shopping trolley basket is particularly advantageous. This leaves the width of the shopping cart unchanged when using the receiving element, making it easier to push through narrow aisles or nests.
- the object can also be lifted by means of manual pressure exerted on the flexible base from below and/or by lifting the border.
- the receiving element is easy to operate and can securely hold an object inserted into it. In addition, it hinders in its non-use position not pushing the shopping trolleys together in a row, the so-called nesting.
- the swivel joint is arranged on a strip placed on the upper edge of the shopping trolley basket, which has a profile that is open at the bottom, with a first leg of the open profile being arranged on an outside of the side wall and the second leg on an inside of the side wall.
- the bar offers the advantage that it can be placed on a large number of differently shaped upper edges of a shopping cart and can therefore be used as a standard part for fastening the receiving element to different shopping carts. Due to the profile that is open towards the bottom of the shopping cart basket, it can be placed particularly easily on the upper edge of the shopping cart and fastened there.
- the legs arranged on both sides of the side wall prevent the strip from slipping off the side edge.
- the strip has a guide in its downwardly open profile, with which it can be positioned at a specific point on the upper edge of one side of the shopping basket, in particular centered on this.
- the guide is a block which is in particular designed in one piece with the strip and has a guide groove for a wire or a strut of the side wall of the basket and/or can be inserted into the space between two wires or struts.
- the strip forms an undercut in the profile which is open towards the bottom, with which it can be clipped onto the upper edge of the shopping basket.
- the upper edge of the usual shopping trolley baskets is usually formed by a reinforced strut or a reinforced wire, which enables undercutting.
- the legs have a sufficiently wide space below the undercut so that the strip also fits on side walls that run offset to the upper edge of the shopping basket.
- the bar is attached to the upper edge of the shopping cart preferably by means of at least one profile terminating element, which is inserted into the downwardly open profile of the bar, with a fastening element holding the profile terminating element to the bar.
- the profile used between the legs end element is from below on the top edge or at least in Substantially horizontally running wire or a strut on the side of the shopping cart, so that a fastening element applied to the bottom of the profile closing element and the top of the bar can fix the bar to the upper edge of the shopping cart side wall.
- the at least one fastening element is a clip which at least partially encompasses, in particular undercuts, at least parts of the upper side of the strip and at least parts of the underside of the profile terminating element.
- the profile terminating element has a first groove for a wire or a strut of the side wall, so that a wire or strut inserted into the groove forms a guide for the profile terminating element, making it particularly easy to profile that is open at the bottom can be used.
- a particular advantage of the first groove is that it holds the strip securely in place.
- the weight of the object held in the receptacle induces a torque which can result in twisting of the slat relative to the side wall to which the slat is attached or in bending or twisting of parts of the slat. If the profile terminating element is inserted into the open profile in such a way that the first groove is open on the side of the profile facing away from the receiving element, the wire or the strut received in the first groove supports the profile terminating element and thus also the strip.
- the fastening element can be designed with two claw-like end regions, one of which engages positively in the second or third groove. In this way, the fastening element can also form a receptacle for the wire held by the profile end element or the strut and additionally secure the strip against lateral slipping on the upper edge.
- the second frame side is arranged in a stationary manner on the strip, in particular formed in one piece with the strip.
- This part is preferably at least essentially U-shaped and, in addition to the first side of the frame, has a third and a fourth side of the frame, which are in particular formed in one piece with the first side of the frame.
- the third and fourth side of the frame connect the first side of the frame with a respective swivel joint, which is fastened to the bar and is arranged in particular as an extension of the third and fourth side of the frame.
- the usually quadrangular containers can be easily inserted between the rotatably mounted first frame side and the second frame side held stationary on the side wall.
- the two rotary joints should lie on a common axis of rotation aligned parallel to the longitudinal direction of the bar.
- the rotary joints are arranged at least at the same level as the strip, preferably slightly higher. This prevents swivel joints arranged on the outside of the shopping cart from colliding with the side walls or against any elements built into the interior of the adjacent shopping cart in the row, such as a separating grid dividing the shopping cart.
- the second side of the frame behaves analogously to the first side of the frame and pivots accordingly.
- the flexible floor is a net, meshes formed at a first end of the net being attached to the first side of the frame and meshes arranged at a second end of the net being attached to the second side of the frame.
- a net adapts flexibly to objects inserted into the receiving element and is sufficiently stable to be able to hold even heavier objects.
- pointed corners of an object inserted into the receiving element can be surrounded by the meshes. This prevents the sharp corners from damaging the flexible floor.
- Another advantage of the net in addition to the material savings, is the transparency provided by the mesh. This prevents objects placed on the net from being forgotten there or hidden from the checkout staff.
- a mesh size of 15-25 mm and a material thickness of 1-1.5 mm have proven particularly suitable for this purpose.
- the first and/or the second frame side comprise domes, which engage in meshes of the net placed on them and hold the net in this way. Covering the interstices of the dome after the stitches have been placed, for example by means of an end strip to be locked on the first and second side of the frame, reliably prevents the net from coming loose. It is of particular advantage if the locked end strip is integrated into the surface of the frame side so that it cannot accidentally be detached from the frame side.
- the flexible base is a textile, in particular a band, or a film.
- a textile tape or a sufficiently strong dimensioned film has good strength and flexibility. If openings are provided at the ends of the textile or the film, the textile or the film can be attached to the domes analogously to the net.
- An alternative attachment to this is attachment using piping and piping rails.
- the side edges of the flexible base running between the first and second frame sides can be reinforced, for example can comprise a welt.
- the third and fourth side of the frame can have an articulated strut, which forms a lateral boundary for the receiving space of the receiving element that is formed below the border.
- a stop limits rotation of the swivel joint from the non-use position beyond 180°, in particular to less than 180°. This protection against turning over prevents the first frame side from being pivoted from a non-use position on the outside of the shopping basket to the inside of the shopping basket and being used there in a way that is contrary to the design.
- the first frame side is pivoted into a position protruding from the side wall and is held there by a resistance held, which must be overcome for pivoting the first side of the frame towards the non-use position.
- a user can thus place the rotatable parts of the border of the receiving element in the ready position and then release them without them pivoting back down again due to their own weight.
- the user has both hands free to lift the object to be accommodated in the receiving element and to position it above the border.
- the resistance is overcome by the additional weight and the first side of the frame pivots again in the direction of the non-use position, which leads to the object being held in the receiving element according to the invention.
- the resistance predetermines a downwardly inclined readiness position of the rotatable parts of the border, ie a readiness position in which the first frame side is arranged below the swivel joint. Then an impact coming from above or from an at least essentially horizontal direction against the first side of the frame held in the use position leads to an automatic reset of the border to the non-use position, i.e. to a pivoting of the border back to the side of the shopping cart. This prevents, for example, damage to the receiving element, which is still in the ready position, when nesting the shopping trolley.
- the first and/or the third and/or the fourth frame side preferably have a fastening element, in particular a magnet, with which they can be fixed to the side wall in the non-use position. This reduces the risk of damage to the border, since it is held securely against the side wall when the receiving element is not in use.
- a fastening element in particular a magnet
- the basic elements of the female element according to the invention and its various advantageous embodiments are compact and lightweight assemble. In particular, they can be put together as a kit for retrofitting existing shopping carts.
