La présente invention concerne les éléments suivants : une souche Shewanella sp. GI35 (National Institute of Technology and Evaluation, Patent Microorganisms Depositary, numéro de dépôt NITE BP-03244) ou une souche mutante de celle-ci ; un aliment pour animaux contenant ladite souche ; un procédé pour produire des poissons qui produisent de l'acide eicosapentaénoïque (EPA) dans le corps, le procédé étant caractérisé par l'alimentation des poissons avec ledit aliment ; et similaire.
