高速走行時の操縦安定性を良好に維持しながら、耐ショックバースト性を向上し、これら性能を高度に両立することを可能にした空気入りタイヤを提供する。カーカス層4とベルト層7とを備えた空気入りタイヤにおいて、カーカス層4を、破断伸びが20%~30%、サイドウォール部における2.0cN/dtex負荷時の伸びが5.5%~8.0%であり、且つ、正量繊度D〔単位:dtex/本〕と打ち込み本数Ec〔単位:本/50mm〕との積A=D×Ecが1.8×105dtex/50mm~3.0×105dtex/50mmである有機繊維コードで構成し、ベルト層を、破断応力が3300MPa以上、且つ、断面積S〔単位:mm2/本〕と打ち込み本数Eb〔単位:本/50mm〕との積B=S×Ebが6.0mm2/50mm~7.5mm2/50mmであるスチールコードで構成する。

Description

空気入りタイヤ
 本発明は、有機繊維コードからなるカーカス層を備えた空気入りタイヤに関する。
 空気入りタイヤは、一般的に、一対のビード部間に装架されたカーカス層を備えており、カーカス層は複数本の補強コード(カーカスコード)で構成されている。カーカスコードとしては、主として有機繊維コードが使用される。特に、高速走行時に優れた操縦安定性が要求されるタイヤにおいては、剛性の高いレーヨン繊維コードが用いられることがある(例えば、特許文献1を参照)。
 一方で、近年、タイヤの軽量化や転がり抵抗の低減に対する要求が高まっており、トレッド部のゴムゲージを薄くすることが検討されている。しかしながら、上述のレーヨン繊維コードからなるカーカス層を備えたタイヤの場合、トレッド部の薄肉化に伴って、耐ショックバースト性が低下することが懸念される。尚、耐ショックバースト性とは、走行中にタイヤが大きなショックを受けて、カーカスが破壊する損傷(ショックバースト)に対する耐久性であり、例えばプランジャーエネルギー試験(トレッド中央部に所定の大きさのプランジャーを押し付けてタイヤが破壊する際の破壊エネルギーを測定する試験)が指標となる。そこで、レーヨン繊維コードを用いた場合と同等の性能を確保しながら、耐ショックバースト性を改善するために、所定の物性を備えたポリエステル繊維コードを使用することが検討されている。しかしながら、このようなポリエステル繊維コードをレーヨン繊維コードの代わりに用いただけでは、その物性の違いに起因して、必ずしも十分な操縦安定性(高速操縦安定性)が確保できないという問題があった。
日本国特開2017‐031381号公報
 本発明の目的は、高速走行時の操縦安定性を良好に維持しながら、耐ショックバースト性を向上し、これら性能を高度に両立することを可能にした空気入りタイヤを提供することにある。
 上記目的を達成するための本発明の空気入りタイヤは、タイヤ周方向に延在して環状をなすトレッド部と、前記トレッド部の両側に配置された一対のサイドウォール部と、これらサイドウォール部のタイヤ径方向内側に配置された一対のビード部とを備え、前記一対のビード部間に装架された少なくとも1層のカーカス層と、前記トレッド部における前記カーカス層の外周側に配置された複数層のベルト層とを有する空気入りタイヤにおいて、前記カーカス層は有機繊維コードからなるカーカスコードで構成され、前記カーカスコードの破断伸びが20%~30%、前記カーカスコードの前記サイドウォール部における2.0cN/dtex負荷時の伸びが5.5%~8.0%であり、且つ、前記カーカスコード1本あたりの正量繊度D〔単位:dtex/本〕と、前記カーカスコードの延長方向と直交する方向50mm当たりの前記カーカスコードの打ち込み本数Ec〔単位:本/50mm〕との積A=D×Ecが1.8×105dtex/50mm~3.0×105dtex/50mmであり、前記ベルト層はスチールコードからなるベルトコードで構成され、前記ベルトコードの破断応力が3300MPa以上であり、且つ、前記ベルトコード1本あたりの断面積S〔単位:mm2/本〕と、前記ベルトコードの延長方向と直交する方向50mm当たりの前記ベルトコードの打ち込み本数Eb〔単位:本/50mm〕との積B=S×Ebが6.0mm2/50mm~7.5mm2/50mmであることを特徴とする。
 本発明においては、カーカス層を構成するカーカスコードが上述の物性を有するポリエステル繊維コードであるため、レーヨン繊維コードを用いた場合と同程度の良好な高速操縦安定性を確保しながら、耐ショックバースト性を向上することができる。具体的には、カーカスコードの破断伸びとサイドウォール部における2.0cN/dtex負荷時の伸びが上述の範囲であるため、カーカスコードの剛性を適度に確保することができ、高速操縦安定性を良好に発揮することができる。また、カーカスコードが上述の破断伸びを有するため、カーカスコードが局所変形に追従しやすくなり、プランジャーエネルギー試験時(プランジャーに押圧された際)の変形を充分に許容することが可能になり、破壊エネルギーを向上することができる。つまり、走行時においてはトレッド部の突起入力に対する破壊耐久性が向上することになるので、耐ショックバースト性を向上することができる。更に、上述の積A、即ち、単位幅当たりのカーカスコードの繊度が上述の範囲であるので、耐久性と制動性能を両立することができ、結果的に、耐ショックバースト性と高速操縦安定性とを向上するには有利になる。一方で、上述のようにベルト層を構成しているので、ベルト層全体としての強力を抑制することができ、カーカスコードに上述のポリエステル繊維コードを用いた際のデメリットを補って高速操縦安定性を向上するには有利になる。これらの協働により、高速操縦安定性および耐ショックバースト性を高度に両立することができる。
 尚、カーカスコード(ポリエステル繊維コード)の「破断伸び」および「1.5cN/dtex負荷時の伸び」はいずれも、JIS L1017の「化学繊維タイヤコード試験方法」に準拠し、つかみ間隔250mm、引張速度300±20mm/分の条件にて引張試験を実施して測定される試料コードの伸び率(%)であり、「破断伸び」はコード破断時に測定される値であり、「1.5cN/dtex負荷時の伸び」は1.5cN/dtex負荷時に測定される値である。また、ベルトコード(スチールコード)の「破断応力」は、コード破断時の強力をコード断面積で除した値である。
 本発明においては、ベルトコードが、内層の素線数Nが2本~4本かつ外層の素線数Mが2本~7本であるN+M構造を有することが好ましい。特に、内層の素線数Nが2本かつ外層の素線数Mが2本である2+2構造を有することが好ましい。このように特定の構造のベルトコードを用いることで、ベルト層の強力を適正化して高速操縦安定性を向上するには有利になる。
 また、上述のベルトコードにおいて、内層を構成する素線が無撚り状態で引き揃えられていることが好ましい。このように特定の構造のベルトコードを用いることで、ベルト層の強力を適正化して高速操縦安定性を向上するには有利になる。
図1は、本発明の実施形態からなる空気入りタイヤを示す子午線断面図である。 図2は、ベルトコードの構造を模式的に示す説明図である。
 以下、本発明の構成について添付の図面を参照しながら詳細に説明する。
 図1に示すように、本発明の空気入りタイヤは、トレッド部1と、このトレッド部1の両側に配置された一対のサイドウォール部2と、サイドウォール部2のタイヤ径方向内側に配置された一対のビード部3とを備えている。図1において、符号CLはタイヤ赤道を示す。図1は子午線断面図であるため描写されないが、トレッド部1、サイドウォール部2、ビード部3は、それぞれタイヤ周方向に延在して環状を成しており、これにより空気入りタイヤのトロイダル状の基本構造が構成される。以下、図1を用いた説明は基本的に図示の子午線断面形状に基づくが、各タイヤ構成部材はいずれもタイヤ周方向に延在して環状を成すものである。
 左右一対のビード部3間にはタイヤ径方向に延びる複数本の補強コード(以下、カーカスコードという)を含むカーカス層4が装架されている。各ビード部には、ビードコア5が埋設されており、そのビードコア5の外周上に断面略三角形状のビードフィラー6が配置されている。カーカス層4は、ビードコア5の廻りにタイヤ幅方向内側から外側に折り返されている。これにより、ビードコア5およびビードフィラー6はカーカス層4の本体部(トレッド部1から各サイドウォール部2を経て各ビード部3に至る部分)と折り返し部(各ビード部3においてビードコア5の廻りに折り返されて各サイドウォール部2側に向かって延在する部分)とにより包み込まれている。
 一方、トレッド部1におけるカーカス層4の外周側には複数層(図示の例では2層)のベルト層7が埋設されている。各ベルト層7は、タイヤ周方向に対して傾斜する複数本の補強コード(以下、ベルトコードという)を含み、かつ層間でベルトコードが互いに交差するように配置されている。これらベルト層7において、ベルトコードのタイヤ周方向に対する傾斜角度は例えば10°~40°の範囲に設定されている。
 更に、ベルト層7の外周側には、高速耐久性の向上を目的として、ベルト補強層8が設けられている。ベルト補強層8は、タイヤ周方向に配向する補強コード(以下、カバーコードという)を含む。カバーコードとしては、例えば有機繊維コードを用いることができる。ベルト補強層8において、カバーコードはタイヤ周方向に対する角度が例えば0°~5°に設定されている。ベルト補強層8としては、ベルト層7の幅方向の全域を覆うフルカバー層8aや、ベルト層7のタイヤ幅方向の両端部を局所的に覆う一対のエッジカバー層8bをそれぞれ単独で、またはこれらを組み合わせて設けることができる(図示の例では、フルカバー層8aおよびエッジカバー層8bの両方が設けられている)。ベルト補強層8は、例えば、少なくとも1本のカバーコードを引き揃えてコートゴムで被覆したストリップ材をタイヤ周方向に螺旋状に巻回して構成することができる。
 本発明は、主として、上述のカーカス層4およびベルト層7のそれぞれを構成するコード(カーカスコード、ベルトコード)に関するものであるので、タイヤの基本的な構造は上述のものに限定されない。
 本発明において、カーカス層4を構成するカーカスコードは、ポリエステル繊維のフィラメント束を撚り合わせたポリエステル繊維コードで構成される。このカーカスコード(ポリエステル繊維コード)の破断伸びは20%~30%、好ましくは22%~28%である。また、このカーカスコードのサイドウォール部における2.0cN/dtex負荷時の伸びは5.5%~8.0%、好ましくは6.5%~7.5%である。このような物性を有するカーカスコード(ポリエステル繊維コード)をカーカス層4に用いているので、従来のレーヨン繊維コードを用いた場合と同程度の良好な操縦安定性を確保しながら、耐ショックバースト性を向上することができる。即ち、カーカスコードが上述の伸び特性を有するため、カーカスコードの剛性を適度に確保することができ、良好な操縦安定性を発揮することができる。また、カーカスコードが上述の伸び特性を有するため、カーカスコードが局所変形に追従しやすくなり、プランジャーエネルギー試験時(プランジャーに押圧された際)の変形を充分に許容することが可能になり、破壊エネルギーを向上することができる。つまり、走行時においてはトレッド部の突起入力に対する破壊耐久性が向上することになるので、耐ショックバースト性を向上することができる。カーカスコードの破断伸びが20%未満であると、耐ショックバースト性を向上する効果を得ることができない。カーカスコードの破談伸びが30%を超えると、中間伸度も大きくなる傾向があるため、剛性が低下して操縦安定性が低下する虞がある。2.0cN/dtex負荷時の伸びは5.5%未満であると、コード剛性が高くなり、接地領域直下でのカーカス層4の巻き上げ端部の圧縮歪みが増大し、コードの破断を招く虞がある(即ち、耐久性が損なわれる虞がある)。2.0cN/dtex負荷時の伸びが8.0%を超えると、剛性を確保することが難しくなり、高速操縦安定性を向上する効果が十分に得られない虞がある。
 また、カーカス層4において、カーカスコード1本あたりの正量繊度D〔単位:dtex/本〕と、カーカスコードの延長方向と直交する方向50mm当たりのカーカスコードの打ち込み本数Ec〔単位:本/50mm〕との積A=D×Ecは1.8×105dtex/50mm~3.0×105dtex/50mm、好ましくは2.2×105dtex/50mm~2.7×105dtex/50mmである。上述の積Aは、カーカス層4における単位幅当たりのカーカスコードの繊度であるので、これが上述の範囲を満たすことで、耐久性と制動性能を向上することができ、結果的に、耐ショックバースト性と高速操縦安定性とを向上するには有利になる。積Aが1.8×105dtex/50mm未満であると、制動性能が悪化する虞がある。積Aが3.0×105dtex/50mmを超えると、カーカスコードの間隔が狭まるため耐久性を維持することが難しくなる。尚、上述の正量繊度Dおよび打ち込み本数Ecの個々の範囲は、積Aが上述の範囲を満たしていれば特に限定されない。
 更に、カーカスコードの熱収縮率は好ましくは0.5%~2.5%、より好ましくは1.0%~2.0であるとよい。尚、「熱収縮率」とは、JIS L1017の「化学繊維タイヤコード試験方法」に準拠し、試料長さ500mm、加熱条件150℃×30分の条件にて加熱したときに測定される試料コードの乾熱収縮率(%)である。このような熱収縮率を有するコードを用いることで、加硫時にコードにキンク(捩じれ、折れ、よれ、形くずれ等)が発生して耐久性が低下することや、ユニフォミティの低下を抑制することができる。このとき、コードの熱収縮率が0.5%未満であると、加硫時にキンクが発生しやすくなり、耐久性を良好に維持することが難しくなる。コードの熱収縮率が2.5%を超えると、ユニフォミティが悪化する虞がある。
 更に、下記式(1)で表されるカーカスコードの撚り係数Kが好ましくは2000~2500、より好ましくは2100~2400であるとよい。尚、この撚り係数Kは、ディップ処理後のコードの数値である。このような撚り係数Kを有するコードを用いることで、コード疲労性を良好にして優れた耐久性を確保することができる。このとき、コードの撚り係数Kが2000未満であると、コード疲労性が低下し、耐久性を確保することが難しくなる。コードの撚り係数Kが2500を超えると、コードの生産性が悪化する。

 上記のように、カーカスコードはポリエステル繊維で構成されるが、ポリエステル繊維としては、ポリエチレンテレフタレート繊維(PET繊維)、ポリエチレンナフタレート繊維(PEN繊維)、ポリブチレンテレフタレート繊維(PBT)、ポリブチレンナフタレート繊維(PBN)を例示することができ、PET繊維を好適に用いることができる。いずれの繊維を用いた場合も、各繊維の物性によって、高速耐久性と操縦安定性とをバランスよく高度に両立するには有利になる。特に、PET繊維の場合は、PET繊維が安価であることから、空気入りタイヤの低コスト化を図ることができる。また、コードを製造する際の作業性を高めることもできる。
 本発明において、ベルト層7を構成するベルトコード7Cは、図2に示すように、N本の素線からなる内層7n(コア)と、内層7nの周囲に撚り合されたM本の素線からなる外層7m(シース)とで構成されるN+M構造(図示の例では2+2構造)を有する。内層7nの素線数Nは2~4本であり、外層7mの素線数Mは2~7本である。特に、図示の2+2構造を好適に採用することができる。また、内層7nと外層7mの撚り方向が同一ではなく異なっているとよい。即ち、内層7nがS撚りの場合に外層7mはZ撚りであるとよく、内層7nがZ撚りの場合に外層7mはS撚りであるとよく、内層7nが無撚りの場合に外層7mはS撚りまたはZ撚りであるとよい。特に、本発明では、内層7nが無撚り(素線が撚り合わされずに引き揃えられている状態)であることが好ましい。ベルト層7を構成するスチールコード7Cの内層の素線数Nが2本未満であると、コードの初期伸びが悪化する。ベルト層7を構成するスチールコード7Cの内層の素線数Nが4本を超えると、撚り構造が安定しない。ベルト層7を構成するスチールコード7Cの外層の素線数Mが2本未満であると、コード強度が不足する。ベルト層7を構成するスチールコード7Cの外層の素線数Mが7本を超えると、撚り構造が安定しない。
 本発明のベルトコードは、破断応力が3300MPa以上、好ましくは3300MPa~3800MPaである。また、ベルト層7において、ベルトコード1本あたりの断面積S〔単位:mm2/本〕と、ベルトコードの延長方向と直交する方向50mm当たりのベルトコードの打ち込み本数Eb〔単位:本/50mm〕との積B=S×Ebは6.0mm2/50mm~7.5mm2/50mm、好ましくは6.2mm2/50mm~7.2mm2/50mmである。このようにベルト層7を構成することで、ベルト層7全体としての強力を抑制することができ、カーカスコードに上述のポリエステル繊維コードを用いた際のデメリットを補って高速操縦安定性を向上することができる。このとき、ベルトコードの破断応力が3300MPa未満であると、ベルト強度確保のために打ち込み本数Ebを増やす必要があるため、タイヤ重量が増加し高速操安性が低下する。積B=S×Ebが6.0mm2/50mm未満であると、ベルト強度不十分より、プランジャー強度が低下する。積B=S×Ebが7.5mm2/50mmを超えると、タイヤ重量が増加し高速操安性が低下する。尚、上述の断面積Sおよび打ち込み本数Ebの個々の範囲は、積Bが上述の範囲を満たしていれば特に限定されない。
 以下、実施例によって本発明を更に説明するが、本発明の範囲はこれらの実施例に限定されるものではない。
 タイヤサイズが245/45R20であり、図1に示す基本構造を有し、カーカス層について、カーカスコードの材質、コード構造、カーカスコード1本あたりの正量繊度D〔単位:dtex/本〕、カーカスコードの延長方向と直交する方向50mm当たりの打ち込み本数E〔単位:本/50mm〕、これら積A=D×E、破断伸び〔単位:%〕、および1.5cN/dtex負荷時の伸び〔単位:%〕を表1のように設定し、ベルト層について、ベルトコードの構造、破断応力〔単位:MPa〕、ベルトコード1本あたりの断面積S〔単位:mm2/本〕、ベルトコードの延長方向と直交する方向50mm当たりのベルトコードの打ち込み本数Eb〔単位:本/50mm〕、これらの積B=S×Ebを表1のように設定した従来例1、比較例1~4、実施例1~11の空気入りタイヤを製作した。
 表1において、カーカスコードの「破断伸び」および「1.5cN/dtex負荷時の伸び」はいずれも、JIS L1017の「化学繊維タイヤコード試験方法」に準拠し、つかみ間隔250mm、引張速度300±20mm/分の条件にて引張試験を実施して測定した。具体的には、「破断伸び」はコード破断時に測定される試料コードの伸び率(%)であり、「1.5cN/dtex負荷時の伸び」は1.5cN/dtex負荷時に測定される試料コードの伸び率(%)である。また、ベルトコードの「破断応力」は、コード破断時の強力をコード断面積で除することで算出した。
 表1のカーカスコードの材質の欄について、レーヨン繊維コードを用いた場合を「レーヨン」、ポリエチレンテレフタレート繊維コードを用いた場合を「PET」と表示した。
 これら試験タイヤについて、下記の評価方法により、耐ショックバースト性(プランジャーエネルギー)、高速操縦安定性、タイヤ重量を評価し、その結果を表1に併せて示した。

 各試験タイヤを、リムサイズ20×8Jのホイールに組み付け、空気圧を220kPaとし、JIS K6302に準拠して、プランジャー径19±1.6mmのプランジャーを負荷速度(プランジャーの押し込み速度)50.0±1.5m/minの条件でトレッド中央部に押し付けるタイヤ破壊試験(プランジャー破壊試験)を行い、タイヤ強度(タイヤの破壊エネルギー)を測定した。評価結果は、従来例1の測定値を100とする指数にて示した。この値が大きいほど破壊エネルギー(プランジャーエネルギー)が大きく、耐ショックバースト性に優れることを意味する。特に、指数値が「130」以上の場合に、良好な性能が得られたことを意味する。
   高速操縦安定性
 各試験タイヤをリムサイズ20×8Jのホイールに組み付けて、空気圧を200kPaとして排気量2000ccの試験車両に装着し、2名が乗車した状態で乾燥路面からなるテストコースにて、テストドライバーによる高速操縦安定性の官能評価を行った。評価結果は、従来例1を3.0(基準)とする5点法にて評価し、最高点と最低点を除いた5名の平均点で表した。この評価値が大きいほど高速操縦安定性に優れることを意味する。
   タイヤ重量
 各試験タイヤの重量を測定した。評価結果は、従来例1の測定値を100とする指数にて示した。この指数値が小さいほど、タイヤ重量が小さいことを意味する。

 表1から判るように、実施例1~11のタイヤは、従来例1との対比において、高速操縦安定性を良好に発揮しながら、耐ショックバースト性を向上し、また、タイヤ重量を軽減した。一方、比較例1は、カーカスコードがレーヨン繊維コードであるため、ベルトコードが本発明の要件を満たしていても、耐ショックバースト性を改善することができなかった。比較例2は、カーカスコードの破断伸びおよび1.5cN/dtex負荷時の伸びが小さく、且つ、ベルトコードの破断応力が小さく、積Bが大きいため、高速操縦安定性が低下した。比較例3は、カーカスコードの破断伸びおよび1.5cN/dtex負荷時の伸びが小さいため、高速操縦安定性を向上する効果が得られなかった。比較例4は、ベルトコードの破断応力が小さく、積Bが大きいため、高速操縦安定性が低下した。

Claims (4)

  1.  タイヤ周方向に延在して環状をなすトレッド部と、前記トレッド部の両側に配置された一対のサイドウォール部と、これらサイドウォール部のタイヤ径方向内側に配置された一対のビード部とを備え、前記一対のビード部間に装架された少なくとも1層のカーカス層と、前記トレッド部における前記カーカス層の外周側に配置された複数層のベルト層とを有する空気入りタイヤにおいて、
     前記カーカス層は有機繊維コードからなるカーカスコードで構成され、前記カーカスコードの破断伸びが20%~30%、前記カーカスコードの前記サイドウォール部における2.0cN/dtex負荷時の伸びが5.5%~8.0%であり、且つ、前記カーカスコード1本あたりの正量繊度D〔単位:dtex/本〕と、前記カーカスコードの延長方向と直交する方向50mm当たりの前記カーカスコードの打ち込み本数Ec〔単位:本/50mm〕との積A=D×Ecが1.8×105dtex/50mm~3.0×105dtex/50mmであり、
     前記ベルト層はスチールコードからなるベルトコードで構成され、前記ベルトコードの破断応力が3300MPa以上であり、且つ、前記ベルトコード1本あたりの断面積S〔単位:mm2/本〕と、前記ベルトコードの延長方向と直交する方向50mm当たりの前記ベルトコードの打ち込み本数Eb〔単位:本/50mm〕との積B=S×Ebが6.0mm2/50mm~7.5mm2/50mmであることを特徴とする空気入りタイヤ。
  2.  前記ベルトコードが、内層の素線数Nが2本~4本かつ外層の素線数Mが2本~7本であるN+M構造を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の空気入りタイヤ。
  3.  前記ベルトコードが、内層の素線数Nが2本かつ外層の素線数Mが2本である2+2構造を有することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の空気入りタイヤ。
  4.  前記内層を構成する素線が無撚り状態で引き揃えられていることを特徴とする請求項2または3に記載の空気入りタイヤ。
