Abstract
The present invention makes improvements concerning the costs, etc., of energy and the like. By maintaining a comparatively large amount of water at low costs, the containment density can be reduced and the environment can be significantly upgraded. The meshing of fish that is associated with stress is reduced and the cutting of teeth can be omitted. In order to reduce costs, such as for fuel and light, incurred by rearing fish and the like, a space that is 5 meters underground is secured for an aquaculture space that is maintained from 15 to at least 17 degrees (as a guide) throughout the year, leading to a sustainable industry in which there are substantially no energy costs for heating and cooling of rearing water and sea water. Fish, food, and the like are introduced into the underground facility through a pipe connected to the outside. The growth conditions can be remotely monitored. When releasing the mature fish to the outside, water pressure is used transport the mature fish along with the rearing water. A passage is provided in case it is necessary for a person to enter the underground space. Height differences are used to provide a space for water temperature adjustment and oxygen supply at the highest position, a space for rearing fish and the like at a position therebelow, and a space for collecting overflow water at the lowest position. The temperature required for fish growth is maintained throughout the year by using annual changes in temperature due to the underground depth. Since the deepest space would generally have the highest temperature, a pump could be used to transport the water therefrom to the fish space to adjust the water temperature. In response to soaring costs in fish food, the aboveground part corresponding to the underground space could be used to rear animals such as locusts. Farmland that is no longer cultivated could be used to grow grass or the like for feeding the insects, thus leading to regional revitalization.
