Definitions
- the invention of the present application relates to a life jacket for an aquatic environment, whether it is a sea, a lake, a river and even a swimming pool. More particularly, the vest of the present application is intended above all for swimmers and people moving naturally in the water, that is to say individuals who are there, but not by accident or unintentional fall into the water. .
- the waistcoat of the invention must be able to overcome the difficulties that arise when one is in the water, due, for example, to a physical deficiency, and thus avoid drowning.
- the invention relates to a life jacket comprising a harness designed to be slipped on the torso of an individual and comprising a back structure, a ventral structure and a belt, at least ventral flotation tubes connected to the harness and manually actuated inflation means for inflating the ventral flotation tubes, characterized in that the ventral flotation tubes are arranged on the ventral structure of the harness, in the uninflated state, folded against the ventral structure of the harness and, in the inflated state, deployed along the ventral structure.
- the life jacket of the present application as long as its inflation means are not actuated, cannot interfere with a swimmer who is moving in the water, since he does not have the flotation tubes deployed on his stomach. He only deploys them on his stomach in case of difficulty. In this case, the ventral tubes are certainly deployed on the swimmer's stomach, whereby the swimmer's head will be out of the water and turned towards the sky.
- the ventral structure of the life jacket has articulated ventral folding flaps arranged to be folded down and fold back against the ventral structure against the ventral structure in their uninflated state and to be pivoted and moved away from the ventral structure. under the action of the inflation of the ventral flotation tubes.
- the ventral structure comprises ventral pockets for receiving the ventral flotation tubes folded in their uninflated state, the pockets being arranged to open under the action of the inflation of the tubes. ventral flotation tubes.
- ventral flotation tubes are connected to also inflatable connections extending in the belt of the harness, from their downstream end to their connection end, and arranged to, under the action of the inflation means, be inflated and deploy the flotation tubes ventral, beyond the flaps or out of the receiving pockets.
- ventral structure of the harness is in two parts arranged to be joined by a zipper.
- the life jacket of the invention can be donned like a vest. Otherwise, it slips on like a sweater.
- the life jacket of the invention also comprises a dorsal flotation tube arranged to, under the action of the inflation means, be inflated and deployed against the neck of the individual.
- the uninflated dorsal flotation tube and the inflation means are arranged in a pocket of the dorsal structure of the harness, as are the downstream ends of the inflatable connectors.
- a traction control element is provided for actuating the inflation means.
- the flotation tubes In the uninflated state of the flotation tubes, they can be folded into their pockets behind passage openings which are kept closed, so as not to reduce hydrodynamics.
- the means for inflating the life jacket of the invention can comprise a gas cartridge, generally CO 2 , a triggering device, a trigger device control pull tab, to release the gas from the cartridge and means for placing the cartridge in communication with the flotation tubes and their fittings.
- the waist and back structures and waist belt of the harness, as well as the receiving pockets and flaps - when provided - are made of synthetic rubber or fabric. extensible, in particular in synthetic fibers derived from polyurethane, or in the material of the protected brand Néoprene.
- the first embodiment of the life jacket which will now be described comprises a harness 1, here slipped on the torso 2 of an individual on the chest. , comprising a ventral structure 3 ( ) and a back structure 4 ( ).
- the harness comprises, for its positioning on the torso 2, a pair of shoulder straps 28, passed around the neck 5 of the individual, and a belt 6 passed around the stomach 7 of the individual.
- the straps 28 are attached to the belt 6 by a clasp or any other suitable means, not shown.
- the belt 6 can be in one part, and it is then elastic to be able to adapt to different sizes of individual, or it can be in two parts, which can also be elastic, which can be joined by an adjustment buckle.
- ventral flotation tubes 8, 9 ( ) are arranged on the ventral structure 3.
- the ventral structure 3 comprises here two articulated ventral folding flaps 10, 11 which are folded against the ventral structure 3 when the ventral tubes 8, 9 are not inflated, to fold the tubes 8, 9 respectively against the ventral structure 3 in this uninflated state.
- ventral flotation tubes 8, 9 When the ventral flotation tubes 8, 9 are inflated, they rotate the flaps 10, 11 away from the ventral structure 3.
- Each folding flap 10, 11 has an internal edge 12, extending along the center line of the ventral structure 3, which is here fixed to the structure by stitching.
- the other edges of the periphery 13 of each flap can be held against the ventral structure 3 by press studs 14, the two parts of which are respectively secured to the flap and to the ventral structure.
- the pocket 15 is closed here by a flap 18 which can allow the passage of the coil 16.
- the dorsal flotation tube 16, housed inside the pocket 15, is shown in its curled up state of rest.
- ventral flotation tubes 8, 9 are connected to connectors 19, 20 also inflatable, which extend into the belt 6 of the harness, from their downstream end 21 , disposed in the dorsal pocket 15, up to their connection end 22.
- the fittings 19, 20 are inflated and ensure the deployment of the ventral flotation tubes 8, 9.
- the inflation system 17, moreover here perfectly conventional, comprises a gas cartridge 30, a triggering device 31, with a locking member of the device, and a pull tab 32 for controlling the locking member.
- the connections 19, 20 of the ventral flotation tubes 8, 9 and the dorsal tube 16 are connected to a bag 33 into which the neck 34 of the gas cartridge 30 emerges.
- gas carbon dioxide CO 2 is generally used.
- ventral flotation tubes 8, 9 are, in the folded state, pressed against the ventral structure 3 by the folding flaps 10, 11 and, the dorsal flotation tube 16, also in the folded state, or curled up, inside the pocket 15.
- ventral flotation tubes 8, 9 pop up the snaps 14 of the flap flaps 10, 11 and rotate these flaps to fully deploy.
- the dorsal flotation tube 16 pushes back the flap 18 and comes out of the pocket 15.
- the vest of the slips on like a sweater that of the , unlike the first, slips on like a waistcoat, its ventral structure 53 being in two parts 54, 55 connected, after putting on, by a zipper 56. It will also be noted that a third embodiment of the waistcoat the invention could be envisaged, not being distinguished from that of the that by the fact that the ventral structure would also be in two parts to be connected, after putting on, by a zipper.
- the vest of the is still distinguished from that of the in that the flaps 10, 11 are replaced by ventral pockets 57, 58, symmetrical with respect to the border elements of the zipper 56, arranged to receive the ventral flotation tubes.
- Each of the pockets 57, 58 comprises two parts 59, 60 folded down one 59 on the other 60 and kept folded down here by adhesive strips 61, 62 fixed on their edges, edges substantially parallel to the zipper in the state. rest.
- the rest of the periphery of the pocket parts is here sewn onto the ventral structure 53 of the harness, except at the level of the shoulder straps 28 so that the pockets can be opened.
- the pockets 57, 58 are closed using the adhesive strips and press the tubes against the ventral structure, under the action of the inflation of the tubes, the adhesive strips of the two pocket parts separate and the pockets open to allow the tubes to escape.
