Abstract

Cet appareil de purification d'air atmosphérique est monté sur un véhicule et purifie l'air dans l'atmosphère circulant depuis l'extérieur du véhicule. L'appareil est monté sur le véhicule de façon à pouvoir transférer de la chaleur à partir d'un collecteur d'échappement qui collecte le gaz d'échappement déchargé depuis chacun des cylindres d'un moteur du véhicule. L'appareil de purification d'air atmosphérique peut comprendre un dispositif de catalyseur qui comprend un catalyseur et purifie l'air dans l'atmosphère circulant depuis l'extérieur du véhicule. Le catalyseur peut être un catalyseur à trois voies et/ou un catalyseur d'oxydation. L'appareil de purification peut être monté de façon à pouvoir transférer de la chaleur depuis le collecteur d'échappement de telle sorte que la température du catalyseur s'élève jusqu'à 200 °C ou plus pendant que le véhicule se déplace. Le dispositif de catalyseur peut être monté de manière à entourer au moins une partie du collecteur d'échappement. Le dispositif de catalyseur peut être monté de manière à être en contact avec le collecteur d'échappement ou à distance de celui-ci. L'appareil de purification d'air peut en outre comprendre un tuyau de guidage pour guider l'air dans l'atmosphère à l'extérieur du véhicule dans le dispositif catalyseur. Dans certains modes de réalisation, l'appareil de purification peut être installé à l'intérieur d'un compartiment moteur du véhicule.
