近年では、熱収縮性フィルムに求められる諸物性がより高度化してきたことにより、特性や化学的組成の異なる複数の層を積層させた、多層構造を有する熱収縮性多層フィルムが提案されている。
また、熱収縮性フィルムに求められるその他の物性としては、例えば、ペットボトル等の飲料容器に、スリーブ状にしたシュリンクラベルを仮装着した際(熱収縮させる前)、シュリンクラベルの自重等によって前記ラベル自身が折れ曲がることを抑制するためのフィルム剛性、さらに加熱収縮中のフィルムにシワや緩み、折れ曲がり等が発生して、収縮後も残ることを抑制するための熱収縮仕上がり性等が挙げられる。

本発明の熱収縮性多層フィルムは、少なくとも2種類の層を有し、このうち、少なくとも1つの表面層に、ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)を含む。なお、本発明において、「2種類の層」とは、組成の異なる2種類の層を意味する。また、本発明において、「表面層」とは、熱収縮性多層フィルムの最外層のことを意味する。本発明の1つの使用形態において、前記表面層の上に、さらに印刷やコーティングを施すこともあるが、これらは本発明の「層」として含めない。一般にシュリンクラベルでは、被包装体(例えば、ペットボトル等の飲料容器)と接する側の表面層の上に印刷を施す内側印刷である。本発明の1つの態様においては、印刷を施す側の表面層に、ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)が含まれることが好ましく、両表面層にブロック共重合体樹脂(I)が含まれていることがより好ましい。
また、本発明の1つの態様においては、表面層はブロック共重合体樹脂(I)から構成されていることが好ましい。なお、後述する通り、ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)には、任意の成分が含まれていてもよい。
本発明において、本発明の熱収縮性多層フィルムが3層以上で構成される場合、表面層以外の層を「中間層」と記載する。本発明の1つの好ましい態様においては、中間層にブロック共重合体樹脂(II)を含む。なお、熱収縮性多層フィルムの総積層数は使用用途によって適宜選択することができるが、生産性の面から、単一の中間層の両面に同一の表面層が設けられた2種3層の構成であることが好ましく、その厚み比(両表面層の厚みの合計/中間層の厚み)は、全厚み(100)に対して、10以上50以下/50以上90以下であることが好ましい。
本実施形態にかかる熱収縮性多層フィルムは、ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xi)と共役ジエン単量体単位(Yi)とを含むブロック共重合体樹脂(I)を、前記熱収縮性多層フィルムの少なくともひとつの表面層に含み、前記ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)が、上記の(i-1)~(i-4)を満たすことを特徴とする。
ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)は、全体として上記の(i-1)~(i-4)を満たしていれば、1種類のブロック共重合体で構成されていてもよく、2種類以上のブロック共重合体が混合して構成されているものであってもよい。
また前記ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)の分子は、「ブロック共重合体」と称しているが、その中に含まれる「ブロック」は、純粋にビニル芳香族炭化水素または共役ジエンのどちらか単一の単量体単位で構成された「ブロック」である必要はない。「ブロック」が、主に前記ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xi)を主成分としていれば硬質相を形成し、前記共役ジエン単量体単位(Yi)を主成分としていれば軟質相を形成する。またブロック共重合体の分子中には、後述する重合開始剤やカップリング剤に由来する単位成分が含まれていてもよい。以下、本明細書では、ビニル芳香族炭化水素及び共役ジエンをまとめて「主原料」と記載することがあり、またその他製造に係る原材料をまとめて「副原料」と記載することがある。
本明細書において「ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xi)」(以下、「単量体単位(Xi)」と記載することもある)とは、ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)の分子鎖中におけるビニル芳香族炭化水素に基づく構造単位のことを意味する。同様に、「共役ジエン単量体単位(Yi)」(以下、「単量体単位(Yi)」と記載することもある)とは、ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)の分子鎖中における共役ジエンに基づく構造単位のことを意味する。
エーテル類としては、例えば、ジメチルエーテル、ジエチルエーテル、ジフェニルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールジメチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールジブチルエーテル等が挙げられる。アミン類は、第三級アミン、例えば、トリメチルアミン、トリエチルアミン、テトラメチルエチレンジアミンの他、環状アミン等も使用できる。その他にトリフェニルホスフィン、ヘキサメチルホスホルアミド、アルキルベンゼンスルホン酸カリウム又はナトリウム、カリウム又はナトリウムブトキシド等がランダム化剤として使用することができる。
例えば、n-ブチルリチウムに代表される単官能性の重合開始剤のみを用いると、ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)は分岐を持たない直線的な化学構造(直鎖構造)を形成し、そのままアニオン重合の活性末端を失活させるのに十分量の重合停止剤を添加して、重合反応を完結させることもできる。この場合、ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)の各分子は直鎖構造になる。他方、重合の中間段階において、分子のアニオン重合の活性末端が全て又は一部存在する状態(リビング状態)で、さらにカップリング剤と呼称する化合物を添加して反応させた場合、又は3官能性以上の多官能重合開始剤を用いた場合は、ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)の全部又は一部の分子が、分岐構造を有するものとなる。
ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)中の分岐構造の有無については、ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー(GPC)、又はGPCと光散乱検出器(MALS)とを組み合わせた分析法等によって確認することができる。
有機溶剤を除去する方法としては、ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)を含む有機溶剤を、例えばメタノール等の貧溶媒に投入して、ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)を析出させて分別する方法(再沈殿法)、加熱ロール等により有機溶剤を蒸発させて析出させる方法(ドラムドライヤー法)、濃縮器により有機溶液を濃縮した後に、例えばベント式押出機で脱気押出しして有機溶剤を除去する方法(脱気押出法)、ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)を含む有機溶剤を温水中に分散させ、さらに水蒸気を吹き込んで有機溶剤を加熱除去する方法(スチームストリッピング法)等、任意の方法が使用できる。
ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)には、必要に応じ、本発明の実施態様である熱収縮性多層フィルムに必要な諸物性を実用上損なわない範囲で、その他の樹脂を含有することができる。具体的には、以下に示すビニル芳香族炭化水素系重合体(a)~(d)から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の重合体や、ポリオレフィン(PO)、ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)、ポリブチレンテレフタレート(PBT)、ポリカーボネート(PC)、ポリアミド(PA)、ポリ塩化ビニル(PVC)、ポリアセタール(POM)、ポリビニルアルコール(PVA)、エチレン-ビニルアルコール共重合体(EVOH)等を含有することができる。これらその他の樹脂は、ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)の総質量に対して、50質量%以下、好ましくは30質量%以下、さらにより好ましくは25質量%以下を混合して使用することができる。50質量%を超えると透明性、強度、熱収縮性等の物性が低下し易くなるため、本発明の目的が達成できない。

ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)に含有させることができる添加剤の種類としては、酸化防止剤(熱安定剤)、紫外線吸収剤(耐候剤)、滑剤、可塑剤、帯電防止剤、防曇剤、ブロッキング防止剤、着色剤等が一般的なものとして挙げられる。
本発明に係るブロック共重合体樹脂(I)は、ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xi)と共役ジエン単量体単位(Yi)とを含み、以下に記載する(i-1)~(i-4)を満たすブロック共重合体樹脂である。
(i-1)前記ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xi)と前記共役ジエン単量体単位(Yi)との合計(100質量%)に対する、前記ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xi)の質量割合が60質量%以上82質量%以下であり、前記共役ジエン単量体単位(Yi)の質量割合が18質量%以上40質量%以下である。
(i-2)GPC測定で得られる重量平均分子量(Mwi)が、100,000以上300,000以下である。
(i-3)動的粘弾性測定において、昇温速度4℃/分、周波数1Hz、室温~130℃の温度範囲で測定した損失正接値(tanδi)が、前記温度範囲で少なくとも1つの極大値を有し、前記損失正接値(tanδi)が最大の極大値を示す温度Ti(℃)が、90℃以上120℃以下の温度範囲に存在する。
(i-4)前記ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xi)を主成分とする硬質相と、前記共役ジエン単量体単位(Yi)を主成分とする軟質相とが、ラメラ構造のミクロ相分離構造を有する。
精秤した試料を完全に溶解することが可能な有機溶剤に溶解させて被検溶液を得た後、過剰量の一塩化よう素/四塩化炭素溶液を前記被検溶液に添加して十分反応させる。その後、液中に残留している未反応の一塩化よう素を、チオ硫酸ナトリウム/エタノール溶液で逆滴定して試料中の二重結合量を測定し、単量体単位(Yi)の割合を算出する。一般に、加えた主原料が一部失われてしまう場合もあることから、共役ジエン単量体単位(Yi)の質量割合をハロゲン付加法で求め、それ以外をビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xi)の質量割合とすることが好ましい。
ラメラ構造のミクロ相分離構造は、「単量体単位(Xi)を主成分とする硬質相」及び「単量体単位(Yi)を主成分とする軟質相」の比率が50:50に近い場合に形成されやすい。硬質相及び軟質相は、重合反応に用いるモノマーの仕込み量を調整することの他、任意の量のモノマーを一括添加することによっても形成することができる。即ち、ビニル芳香族炭化水素(例えばスチレン)よりも共役ジエン(例えばブタジエン)の方が、消費速度が速いため、任意の量のビニル芳香族炭化水素と共役ジエンとを一括添加すると、初期は共役ジエンが主として反応して軟質相が形成され、重合が進むにつれて徐々にビニル芳香族炭化水素の比率が上がっていき、硬質相が形成される。
本発明の実施形態である熱収縮性多層フィルムは、前記ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)を含む表面層以外の少なくとも1つの層に、ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xii)と共役ジエン単量体単位(Yii)とを含む、ブロック共重合体樹脂(II)を含むことが好ましい。また、前記ブロック共重合体樹脂(II)は、下記(ii-1)~(ii-3)を満たすブロック共重合体樹脂である。
(ii-1)前記ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xii)と前記共役ジエン単量体単位(Yii)の合計(100質量%)に対する、前記ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xii)の質量割合が70質量%以上84質量%以下であり、前記共役ジエン単量体単位(Yii)の質量割合が16質量%以上30質量%以下である。
(ii-2)GPC測定で得られる重量平均分子量(Mwii)が、100,000以上300,000以下である。
(ii-3)動的粘弾性測定において、昇温速度4℃/分、周波数1Hz、室温~130℃の温度範囲で測定した損失正接値(tanδii)が、前記温度範囲で少なくとも1つの極大値を有し、前記損失正接値(tanδii)が最大の極大値を示す温度Tii(℃)は、Ti(℃)との関係において、下記式(1)、(2)を満たす。

ブロック共重合体樹脂(II)を含む層は、2層以上で構成されていてもよい。生産性の観点から、ブロック共重合体樹脂(II)を含む層は、1層であることが好ましい。
また、本発明の1つの態様において、ブロック共重合体樹脂(II)のミクロ相分離構造はラメラ構造以外の構造であることが好ましい。
ブロック共重合体樹脂(II)のミクロ相分離構造に特に限定はないが、ラメラ構造ではない、即ち球構造(海島構造)やシリンダー構造であることが好ましい。ラメラ構造を形成させない方法としては、例えば軟質相よりも硬質相の比率が高くなるように重合反応に用いるモノマーの仕込み量を調整する方法等が挙げられる。

なお(Ti-Tii)は、18以上30以下であることがより好ましい。
TiおよびTiiが式(1)、(2)の関係を共に満たすことで、収縮仕上り性と熱収縮性のバランスがより良好となる。このようなtanδiiを実現する方法としては、例えば、ブロック共重合体樹脂(II)を製造する際に、ビニル芳香族炭化水素と共役ジエンを一定割合で同時添加する工程において、ビニル芳香族炭化水素と共役ジエンの添加比率を変化させることで調整することが可能である。なおtanδiiは、前記tanδiと同様の測定方法にて算出することができる。
本発明の熱収縮性多層フィルムの製造方法の1つの態様は、前記ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)を少なくとも1つの表面層に含む未延伸の多層フィルムを、動的粘弾性測定において、昇温速度4℃/分、周波数1Hz、室温~130℃の温度範囲で測定した、前記ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)の損失弾性率(E’’i)が最大の極大値を示す温度Ticに対して、(Tic-25)℃以上(Tic+15)℃以下の温度範囲で、前記未延伸の多層フィルムをMD方向に1.00倍以上1.30倍以下の範囲で延伸し、TD方向に3.0倍以上8.0倍以下の範囲で延伸する工程を含む、熱収縮性多層フィルムの製造方法である。
ここで、ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)の損失弾性率(E’’i)は、前記の動的粘弾性測定と同様の装置及び測定方法にて算出することができる。
前記温度範囲は、より好ましくは、Ticに対して、(Tic-20)℃以上(Tic+10)℃以下である。このような温度範囲で延伸することによって、熱収縮率と自然収縮率のバランスや厚み精度がより良好となりやすい。
また本発明の熱収縮性多層フィルムの製造方法においては、延伸倍率は、前記多層フィルムのMD方向に1.00倍以上1.30倍以下、好ましくは1.00倍を超え1.20倍以下である。また、前記TD方向の延伸倍率は、3.0倍以上8.0倍以下、好ましくは4.0倍以上6.0倍以下である。延伸倍率を前記の範囲とすることにより、熱収縮率が良好となりやすい。前記ロールとテンターを用いる逐次延伸工程では、MD方向及びTD方向の延伸倍率を前記範囲内に設定することにより、熱収縮性及び熱収縮仕上がり性のバランスのとれた熱収縮性多層フィルムが得られやすくなる。
本発明は、従来よりも耐溶剤性に優れ、また良好な熱収縮仕上がり性を有する熱収縮多層フィルムを得ることを目的とするものである。従って、本発明の熱収縮性多層フィルムは、フィルムの熱収縮特性に優れている必要がある。また、それ以外にも、フィルム強度、透明性、耐自然収縮性、フィルム剛性といった熱収縮性フィルムの特性を基本的に備えていることが前提となる。なお、本発明は熱収縮性多層フィルムの発明であるが、以降の説明においては簡単のため、「熱収縮性フィルム」や単に「フィルム」と記載することがある。
前記フィルム強度とは、例えばフィルム製造時やこれをロール状に巻き取りする時に、フィルムに掛かる張力に対して求められる強度である。但し強度値そのものよりも、得られたフィルムの常温域での引張り測定で得られる、引張破断伸び率の値がフィルム強度の指標となる。工業的には逐次延伸法によるフィルム製造法を採用する場合がほとんどであるため、この場合にはフィルムのMD方向の強度が求められる。本発明の1つの態様において、熱収縮多層フィルムのMD方向の引張り測定における、フィルムの引張破断伸び率は200%以上であることが好ましく、300%以上であることがより好ましい。引張破断伸び率が200%未満であると、フィルムの破断が起こりやすくなるため、製造に支障を来たす場合がある。
本実施形態に係る熱収縮性多層フィルムは、例えば、その表面層に印刷を施して熱収縮性ラベルとして用いる場合、フィルムの透明性として、そのHAZE値が10%以下であることが好ましい。その結果、フィルムの白濁度が目立つのを防ぎ、熱収縮性ラベルの意匠性を維持することができる。
本発明の熱収縮性多層フィルムにおいては、例えば、保管中や輸送中にフィルムが意図せず収縮して印刷ズレ等の問題を引き起こすことを避けるため、耐自然収縮性の指標となる自然収縮率はなるべくゼロに近い数値であることが望ましい。実用的には、自然収縮率は0%以上4%以下の範囲に収まることが好ましく、0%以上2%以下の範囲に収まることがさらに好ましい。前記自然収縮率は、製造直後のフィルムを一定期間恒温恒湿槽内に保管し、フィルム上に定めた2点間の基準直線距離を保管前後で測定し、保管後に生じた収縮長さを保管前の長さで除することで算出することができる。即ち自然収縮率は、保管前の基準直線距離をL1とし、保管後の基準直線距離をL2とした場合、下記の数式(4)によって算出することができる。

前記恒温恒湿槽内部の内部温度及び湿度は、実用上想定される過酷な条件が一般的に採用される。本発明の1つの態様においては、40℃の恒温高湿槽内で7日間保管した際の自然収縮率が、2%以下であることが好ましい。なお、前記ロールとテンターを用いて逐次延伸法で製造される熱収縮性フィルムでは、MD方向よりもTD方向の方が、延伸倍率が高く設定されることが多く、通常はTD方向の自然収縮率の値である。
本発明の熱収縮性多層フィルムは、通常、前記逐次延伸法で製造される。これを、例えば、飲料容器用の熱収縮性ラベルとして用いる場合は、一般に熱収縮性多層フィルムの表面に商品名や表示名等の印刷を施して熱収縮性ラベルとし、その後、前記熱収縮性ラベルを飲料容器の胴体部周囲より太く、TD方向を周方向とする容器毎の形状に合わせた筒状に一旦加工し、さらに前記筒状とした熱収縮性ラベルを飲料容器に仮装着する。次いで熱収縮性ラベルを加熱収縮させることにより、複雑な曲面で構成される飲料容器の形状にラベルが密着するように収縮させて用いる。熱収縮させる前の熱収縮性ラベルのフィルム剛性が不足していると、熱収縮性ラベルを筒状に加工する工程で支障が生じたり、容器に筒状の熱収縮性ラベルを仮装着した際に、熱収縮させるまで筒状を保ち難くなる。そのため、例えば筒状としたフィルムの端部が湾曲したり、不要なシワや波打ちが熱収縮前のフィルムに発生し、熱収縮仕上がり性に支障が生じることがある。そのため、熱収縮性フィルムの基本特性として、適度なフィルム剛性を有する必要がある。なおフィルム剛性は、前記MD方向のフィルム引張り試験の弾性率を指標とすることができる。引張り弾性率は、フィルムに用いられるブロック共重合体樹脂の化学組成等により変化するが、その適度な範囲として900MPa以上2000MPa以下となることが好ましく、950MPa以上1500MPa以下となることがより好ましい。
本発明の熱収縮性多層フィルムは、従来よりも耐溶剤性が向上し、有機溶剤を含むインキによる印刷を経た後も、有機溶剤によるフィルムへの浸食を受けにくい。従ってフィルム強度の低下が小さく、白化や収縮といった現象も起きにくい。なおフィルムの耐溶剤性の指標には、イソプロピルアルコールと酢酸エチルの混合溶液を滴下した際に白化が起きない最大の酢酸エチル濃度を用い、これが高いほど耐溶剤性が良好であることを示す。
本発明の熱収縮性多層フィルムは、従来よりも耐溶剤性の向上に加えて、熱収縮仕上がり性にも優れる。熱収縮仕上り性は、70℃以上100℃以下の温度範囲におけるMD方向の寸法変化が小さいほど、複雑な形状を有する被包装体を包装する際に、シワやフィルム端部の外観不良が発生しにくい。すなわち、本発明の1つの態様において、70℃以上100℃以下の温度範囲におけるMD方向の熱収縮率の最大値が5%以下、かつ最小値が-3%以上であることが好ましく、前記熱収縮率の最大値が3%以下、かつ最小値が-2%以上であることがより好ましい。
本発明の実施形態である熱収縮性多層フィルムは、前述の通り熱収縮性ラベルとして好適に用いることができる。また、本発明の熱収縮性多層フィルムは、前記熱収縮性ラベル以外の用途、例えば、熱収縮キャップシール、オーバーパックフィルム等、様々な包装形態として使用することができる。
本発明の熱収縮性ラベルは、前述の熱収縮性多層フィルムを備えるものである。また、前記熱収縮性ラベルは、熱収縮性多層フィルムの樹脂(I)を含む表面層の上に、印刷層が積層された構成であることが好ましい。
本発明の熱収縮性多層フィルムを備える熱収縮性ラベルは、複雑な形状であってもシワを生じることなく密着し、かつ印刷時にも有機溶剤による影響を受けにくいため、意匠性に優れている。
本発明のラベルとは、前記熱収縮性ラベルを熱収縮させて得られるものを指す。即ち本発明の1つの態様は、前記熱収縮性ラベルを熱収縮させることによる、ラベルの製造方法である。
本発明のラベルの製造方法は、前記ラベルを装着する被包装体によって適宜調製される。例えば、ペットボトル等の飲料容器に用いる場合、前記熱収縮性ラベルを60℃以上110℃以下の温度で熱収縮させたものであることが好ましい。
なお、表1には以下で製造した各ブロック共重合体の化学組成及び諸物性を示した。また、表2~3には、各実施例及び比較例で用いたブロック共重合体樹脂の配合割合、諸物性、及び評価結果を示した。
また、表2~3中の「表面層」及び「中間層」の欄には、各層で使用したブロック共重合体樹脂の種類を記載した(表2~3中の「ブロック共重合体樹脂の種類」の欄を参照)。すなわち、各実施例及び比較例で用いたブロック共重合体樹脂が、本発明のブロック共重合体樹脂(I)の構成を満たす場合は、前記ブロック共重合体樹脂の種類の欄に「(I)」と記載し、ブロック共重合体樹脂(II)の構成を満たす場合は、「(II)」と記載した。ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)及び(II)のいずれにも該当しない場合は、「(-)」と記載した。
本発明の熱収縮性多層フィルムの効果を実証する上で、ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)及びブロック共重合体樹脂(II)を構成するための例として、参考例1~8のブロック共重合体(A)~(H)を調製した。以下にその手順を示す。
(1)1m3の反応容器に467kgのシクロヘキサンと、70.1gのテトラヒドロフランを充填し、内温30℃で攪拌しながら、1260mLのn-ブチルリチウム(10質量%シクロヘキサン溶液)を添加した。
(2)内温30℃で、82.2kgのスチレンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は67℃まで上昇した。
(3)内温45℃で、4170mLのn-ブチルリチウム(10質量%シクロヘキサン溶液)を添加した後、69.8kgのスチレンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は75℃まで上昇した。
(4)内温50℃で、48.0kgのブタジエンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は81℃まで上昇した。
(5)内温75℃で、600gのエポキシ化大豆油を添加した後、75℃で10分間攪拌し、重合を完結させた。
(6)水300gを添加することで全ての重合活性末端を失活させ、ブロック共重合体(A)を含む重合液を得た。
(7)この重合液を脱気押出機で溶融ペレット化することにより、ブロック共重合体(A)を得た。
(1)1m3の反応容器に500kgのシクロヘキサンと、75gのテトラヒドロフランを充填し、内温30℃で攪拌しながら、1320mLのn-ブチルリチウム(10質量%シクロヘキサン溶液)を添加した。
(2)内温30℃で、15.6kgのスチレンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は52℃まで上昇した。
(3)内温50℃で、65.2kgのスチレンと48.0kgのブタジエンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は104℃まで上昇した。
(4)内温60℃で、水9.0gを添加し十分反応させた後、71.2kgのスチレンを添加し、昇温することで重合を完結させた。内温は87℃まで上昇した。
(5)水300gを添加することで全ての重合活性末端を失活させ、ブロック共重合体(B)を含む重合液を得た。
(6)この重合液を脱気押出機で溶融ペレット化することにより、ブロック共重合体(B)を得た。
(1)1m3の反応容器に467kgのシクロヘキサンと、70.1gのテトラヒドロフランを充填し、内温30℃で攪拌しながら、1390mLのn-ブチルリチウム(10質量%シクロヘキサン溶液)を添加した。
(2)内温30℃で、93.8kgのスチレンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は73℃まで上昇した。
(3)内温45℃で、3800mLのn-ブチルリチウム(10質量%シクロヘキサン溶液)を添加した後、42.2kgのスチレンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は66℃まで上昇した。
(4)内温を80℃に保ちながら、総量8.0kgのスチレン、及び総量2.0kgのブタジエンを、それぞれ48.0kg/h、12.0kg/hの一定添加速度で同時に添加し、添加終了後10分間内温を80℃で保持した。
(5)内温50℃で、50.0kgのブタジエンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は82℃まで上昇した。
(6)内温60℃で、4.0kgのスチレンを添加し、内温を75℃まで昇温して重合させた。
(7)内温75℃で、570gのエポキシ化大豆油を添加した後、75℃で10分間攪拌し、重合を完結させた。
(8)水300gを添加することで全ての重合活性末端を失活させ、ブロック共重合体(C)を含む重合液を得た。
(9)この重合液を脱気押出機で溶融ペレット化することにより、ブロック共重合体(C)を得た。
(1)1m3の反応容器に490kgのシクロヘキサンと73.5gのテトラヒドロフランを充填し、内温30℃で攪拌しながら、960mLのn-ブチルリチウム(10質量%シクロヘキサン溶液)を添加した。
(2)内温30℃で、105.0kgのスチレンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は83℃まで上昇した。
(3)内温55℃で、1260mLのn-ブチルリチウム(10質量%シクロヘキサン溶液)を添加した後、23.1kgのスチレンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は62℃まで上昇した。
(4)内温45℃で、48.3kgのスチレンと33.6kgのブタジエンを添加し、昇温することで重合を完結させた。内温は88℃まで上昇した。
(5)水300gを添加することで全ての重合活性末端を失活させ、ブロック共重合体(D)を含む重合液を得た。
(6)この重合液を脱気押出機で溶融ペレット化することにより、ブロック共重合体(D)を得た。
(1)1m3の反応容器に490kgのシクロヘキサンと、73.5gのテトラヒドロフランを充填し、内温30℃で攪拌しながら、1650mLのn-ブチルリチウム(10質量%シクロヘキサン溶液)を添加した。
(2)内温30℃で、35.7kgのスチレンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は55℃まで上昇した。
(3)内温40℃で、69.3kgのスチレンと8.9kgのブタジエンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は73℃まで上昇した。
(4)内温60℃で、水5.5gを添加し十分反応させた後、69.3kgのスチレンと26.8kgのブタジエンを添加し、昇温することで重合を完結させた。内温は105℃まで上昇した。
(5)水300gを添加することで全ての重合活性末端を失活させ、ブロック共重合体(E)を含む重合液を得た。
(6)この重合液を脱気押出機で溶融ペレット化することにより、ブロック共重合体(E)を得た。
(1)1m3の反応容器に500kgのシクロヘキサンと、75gのテトラヒドロフランを充填し、内温30℃で攪拌しながら、2000mLのn-ブチルリチウム(10質量%シクロヘキサン溶液)を添加した。
(2)内温30℃で、4.0kgのスチレンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は35℃まで上昇した。
(3)内温を80℃に保ちながら、総量144.0kgのスチレン、及び総量12.0kgのブタジエンを、それぞれ144.0kg/h、12.0kg/hの一定添加速度で同時に添加し、添加終了後10分間内温を80℃で保持した。
(4)内温60℃で、36.0kgのブタジエンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は86℃まで上昇した。
(5)内温70℃で、4.0kgのスチレンを添加し、昇温することで重合を完結させた。内温は73℃まで上昇した。
(6)水300gを添加することで全ての重合活性末端を失活させ、ブロック共重合体(F)を含む重合液を得た。
(7)この重合液を脱気押出機で溶融ペレット化することにより、ブロック共重合体(F)を得た。
(1)1m3の反応容器に500kgのシクロヘキサンと、75gのテトラヒドロフランを充填し、内温30℃で攪拌しながら、2000mLのn-ブチルリチウム(10質量%シクロヘキサン溶液)を添加した。
(2)内温30℃で、4.0kgのスチレンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は35℃まで上昇した。
(3)内温を80℃に保ちながら、総量144.0kgのスチレン、及び総量12.0kgのブタジエンを、それぞれ144.0kg/h、12.0kg/hの一定添加速度で同時に添加し、添加終了後10分間内温を80℃で保持した。
(4)内温60℃で、36.0kgのブタジエンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は86℃まで上昇した。
(5)内温70℃で、4.0kgのスチレンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は73℃まで上昇した。
(6)内温75℃で、190gのエポキシ化大豆油を添加した後、75℃で10分間攪拌し、重合を完結させた。
(6)水300gを添加することで全ての重合活性末端を失活させ、ブロック共重合体(G)を含む重合液を得た。
(7)この重合液を脱気押出機で溶融ペレット化することにより、ブロック共重合体(G)を得た。
(1)1m3の反応容器に500kgのシクロヘキサンと、75gのテトラヒドロフランを充填し、内温30℃で攪拌しながら、2000mLのn-ブチルリチウム(10質量%シクロヘキサン溶液)を添加した。
(2)内温30℃で、4.0kgのスチレンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は35℃まで上昇した。
(3)内温を80℃に保ちながら、総量144.0kgのスチレン、及び総量21.0kgのブタジエンを、それぞれ144.0kg/h、21.0kg/hの一定添加速度で同時に添加し、添加終了後10分間内温を80℃で保持した。
(4)内温60℃で、27.0kgのブタジエンを添加し、昇温して重合させた。内温は76℃まで上昇した。
(5)内温70℃で、4.0kgのスチレンを添加し、昇温することで重合を完結させた。内温は73℃まで上昇した。
(6)水300gを添加することで全ての重合活性末端を失活させ、ブロック共重合体(H)を含む重合液を得た。
(7)この重合液を脱気押出機で溶融ペレット化することにより、ブロック共重合体(H)を得た。
ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)の原料として、参考例1のブロック共重合体(A)のペレットを準備した。またブロック共重合体樹脂(II)の原料として、参考例6のブロック共重合体(F)と、参考例7のブロック共重合体(G)のペレットを67:33の質量割合で乾式混合した混合ペレットを準備した。各ペレットについて、ブロック共重合体樹脂(II)の両表面に、ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)が積層されるように多層シート成膜機に供給し、全体厚みが300μm、表面層/中間層/表面層の厚み比率が10/80/10であるシートを押し出し成形した。多層シート成膜機を出たシートは、直ぐに逐次延伸装置の縦延伸機に送られ、70℃でMD方向に1.05倍、95℃でTD方向に4.5倍延伸し、実施例1の熱収縮性多層フィルムを得た。得られた熱収縮性多層フィルムについて、延伸温度、延伸条件は表2にも記載した。
ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)及びブロック共重合体樹脂(II)の配合量、及び製造条件を表2~3に記載の通りとした以外は、実施例1と同様の方法にて、各例の熱収縮性多層フィルムを得た。
実施例1~6、比較例1~4の熱収縮性多層フィルムに用いた、ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)及びブロック共重合体樹脂(II)の物性の評価、即ちブロック共重合体樹脂(I)及び(II)に含まれるビニル芳香族炭化水素単量単位の質量割合及び共役ジエン単量体単位の質量割合の測定、重量平均分子量の測定、動的粘弾性の測定、ミクロ相分離構造の観察、分岐構造の有無観察について、その方法を以下に記載する。なお参考例の樹脂ペレットをそのまま評価用試料として用いることができる場合を除き、実施例、比較例の各熱収縮性多層フィルムに用いたブロック共重合体樹脂(I)及びブロック共重合体樹脂(II)の樹脂物性については、乾式混合したペレットではなく、以下の方法で作製した新たなペレット試料を用いて評価した。即ち、表2~3に示した実施例、比較例の配合割合に従い、各参考例のブロック共重合体、ポリスチレン樹脂のペレットを乾式混合してペレット混合物となし、前記ペレット混合物を、押出機を用いて210℃で溶融混練してペレットを作製し、これを用いて評価した。本明細書では、これらを例えば「実施例3のブロック共重合体樹脂(I)ペレット試料」と称することがある。また「実施例1のブロック共重合体樹脂(I)のペレット試料」と「参考例1のブロック共重合体(A)のペレット」とは同じものである。
各実施例、及び比較例のブロック共重合体樹脂(I)及びブロック共重合体樹脂(II)に含まれるビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位の質量割合は、全体(100質量%)から共役ジエン単量体単位の質量割合の測定値(質量%)を差し引いた値とした。結果を表1~3に記載した。
各実施例、及び比較例のブロック共重合体樹脂(I)及びブロック共重合体樹脂(II)に含まれる共役ジエン単量体単位の質量割合は、各実施例、及び比較例のブロック共重合体樹脂(I)のペレット試料及びブロック共重合体樹脂(II)のペレット試料を用い、以下に示す(1)~(6)の手順に従って測定した。結果を表1~3に記載した。
(1)試料0.1gをクロロホルム50mLに溶解させた。
(2)一塩化よう素/四塩化炭素溶液25mLを添加し十分混合した後、1時間暗所で放置した。
(3)2.5%よう化カリウム溶液を75mL加え、十分混合した。
(4)20%チオ硫酸ナトリウム/エタノール溶液を十分に攪拌しながら、液の色が淡黄色程度となる迄、添加した。
(5)1%デンプン指示薬を約0.5mL加え、再度、20%チオ硫酸ナトリウム/エタノール溶液で無色になるまで滴定した。
(6)滴定完了後、消費したチオ硫酸ナトリウム/エタノール溶液量a[mL]を計測した。
ブランクの測定による補正を実施すべく、(1)~(6)の操作をクロロホルム単体でも実施し、消費したチオ硫酸ナトリウム/エタノール溶液量b[mL]を測定した。
共役ジエンの含有率は下記の式に従い、測定値より算出した。

各実施例、及び比較例のブロック共重合体樹脂(I)及びブロック共重合体樹脂(II)の重量平均分子量Mwi、Mwii、は、各実施例、及び比較例のブロック共重合体樹脂(I)のペレット試料及びブロック共重合体樹脂(II)のペレット試料を用い、以下に示す装置を用いて測定した。結果を表1~3に記載した。

各実施例、及び比較例のブロック共重合体樹脂(I)及びブロック共重合体樹脂(II)の動的粘弾性測定は、各実施例、及び比較例のブロック共重合体樹脂(I)のペレット試料及びブロック共重合体樹脂(II)のペレット試料を用いて、以下(1)、(2)に示した手順で実施し、温度に対するブロック共重合体樹脂(I)の損失正接値(tanδi)、損失弾性率(E’’i)、及びブロック共重合体樹脂(II)の損失正接値(tanδii)を測定した。得られた、動的粘弾性カーブから、それぞれ最大の極大値を示す温度、Ti、Tii、Ticを求めた。
(1)各ペレット試料を200~250℃の条件で加熱プレスし、厚さ0.1~0.5mmのシートを作製した。
(2)このシートから25mm×5mmの試験片を切り出し、23℃、50%RHの室内に24時間以上保管して養生処理を施した後、下記の装置を用いて貯蔵弾性率、及び損失弾性率を、下記の昇温速度及び周波数で、下記温度範囲において測定し、その損失正接値を計算させた。

各実施例、及び比較例のブロック共重合体樹脂(I)及びブロック共重合体樹脂(II)のミクロ相分離構造は、各実施例、及び比較例のブロック共重合体樹脂(I)のペレット試料及びブロック共重合体樹脂(II)のペレット試料を用いて以下の方法で測定した。
各樹脂のペレットをエポキシ樹脂に包埋し、ミクロトームを用いて熱収縮前の熱収縮性フィルムの断面を得た。その後、この断面を透過型電子顕微鏡(TEM)装置で観察し、熱収縮前の熱収縮性フィルムにおけるミクロ相分離構造を目視観察した。結果を表1~3に記載した。
各実施例、及び比較例のブロック共重合体樹脂(I)及びブロック共重合体樹脂(II)の分岐構造の有無については、前記GPC装置で得られた分子量分布チャートの形状により、分岐鎖数1~4本に由来する分子量ピークの倍数値の有無で確認した。結果を表1~3に記載した。
各実施例、及び比較例の熱収縮性多層フィルムは、以下の方法に従ってフィルム物性を測定した。結果を表2~3に記載した。
(引張弾性率、引張破断伸び率の測定)
本発明の熱収縮性多層フィルムに求められるMD方向のフィルム強度及び剛性を評価するにあたり、その指標となる引張破断伸び率及び引張弾性率を以下の方法で測定し、後述する基準に従い、それぞれフィルム強度、フィルム剛性として評価した。
(1)延伸フィルムから、MD方向の幅が100mm、TD方向の幅が10mmの短冊状の試料片を切り出した。
(2)(株)オリエンテック製 テンシロン万能材料試験機を使用し、切り出した試料片を、測定温度23℃、引張速度200mm/minでMD方向に引張り応力を与え、応力-歪み曲線と試料片の断面積から引張弾性率を算出した。引張破断伸び率についてはフィルム破断時の変位を基に算出した。MD方向の引張り伸び率が、200%以上であれば十分な強度を有していると判断し、MD方向の引張り弾性率が、900MPa以上であれば十分な剛性も有していると判断した。
(HAZE値の測定)
熱収縮性多層フィルムのHAZE値を下記の方法で測定し、透明性を評価した。HAZE値は小さい値ほど好ましいと言えるが、10%以下であれば、実用上十分な透明性を有すると判断した。
(1)延伸フィルムから、MD方向の幅が50mm、TD方向の幅が100mmの試料片を切り出した。
(2)日本電色工業(株)製 濁度計NDH2000を使用し、フィルムのHAZE値を測定した。
下記の手順でTD方向の自然収縮率を測定した。
(1)延伸フィルムからMD方向が約75mm、TD方向が約400mmの試験片を切り出した。
(2)この試験片のTD方向に300.0mm間隔の標線を付けた。
(3)延伸フィルムを40℃の環境試験機内で保管した。
(4)7日の保管後フィルムを取り出し、標線間の距離L(mm)をノギスを用いて0.1mm単位まで測定した。
(5)下記の式により自然収縮率を算出した。
自然収縮率(%)={(300.0-L)/300.0}×100
耐溶剤性は、下記の方法で測定し、後述する基準に従い評価した
(1)MD方向の幅が300mm、TD方向の幅が300mmの試料片を切り出し、ガラス板上に乗せた。
(2)2-プロパノール/酢酸エチルの体積混合比率を、酢酸エチルが30体積%から5体積%刻みで50体積%まで変えた5種の混合溶剤を作製し、23℃、湿度50%の環境下で、フィルム上にスポイトを用いて0.05mL滴下した。
(3)滴下した混合溶液が完全に揮発し、消失した後のフィルム外観を目視で確認し、フィルムの白化が認められない酢酸エチルの最大濃度を測定値とした。目視で判断しにくい場合、小さい方の値を採用した。
A:フィルム白化が起きない、2-プロパノール/酢酸エチル中の酢酸エチル最大濃度が45体積%以上である。
B:フィルム白化が起きない、2-プロパノール/酢酸エチル中の酢酸エチル最大濃度が35体積%以上45体積%未満である。
C:フィルム白化が起きない、2-プロパノール/酢酸エチル中の酢酸エチル最大濃度が35体積%未満である。
上記のうち、B以上を合格(耐溶剤性に優れる)とした。
熱収縮仕上がり性に関する目安値として、MD方向に関する70℃から100℃にかけて測定される熱収縮率を、以下(1)~(4)の手順により求めた。なお、MD方向に関しては一時的に伸びることもあり、その場合は収縮率値(最小値)を負の値として計算した。熱収縮率の最大値及び最小値と、次に述べる実際の熱収縮仕上がり性とを比較し、即ち前記熱収縮率の最大値が5%以下、かつ最小値が-3%以下である熱収縮性多層フィルムを熱収縮させたとき、特にシワやフィルム端部の外観不良が目立たなくなる傾向があることの妥当性を判断した。
(1)延伸フィルムから、MD方向の幅が100mm、TD方向の幅が100mmの試験片を切り出した。
(2)この試験片を70℃の温水中に、10秒間、完全に浸漬させた後、取り出し、直ちに水冷した。水冷後の試料片は、水分を十分に拭き取り、MD方向の長さM(mm)を測定した。
(3)次式により70℃におけるMD方向の熱収縮率を算出し、小数点以下を四捨五入し整数値とした。
MD方向の熱収縮率(%)={(100-M)/100}×100
(4)温水温度を5℃ずつ上げながら100℃まで、(1)~(3)と同様の手順で測定を繰り返して実施し、70℃から100℃に至るMD方向の収縮カーブを作成し、その最大値と最小値を求め、その差の値を算出した。
(1)代表的な円筒状容器として、PET製容器(口径20mmφ、胴径68mmφ、高さ210mm、アズワン社ペットボトル500丸 型番:M1-354-02)と、熱収縮フィルムから作製した、高さ:100mm、直径:74mmの円筒状(5mmは糊代部とした)の熱収縮ラベルを準備した。
(2)前記PET製容器に、フィルム上端部が、PETボトルの胴部が口金に向かって窄まり始める位置から15mm直上に位置するよう、熱収縮ラベルの下端部をテープで留めて仮装着した。
(3)前記熱収縮ラベルを仮装着したPETボトルを、80℃に設定した高温槽の中に30秒間投入し、その後直ぐに高温槽外に取り出し、室温まで冷却させた。
(4)熱収縮ラベルの熱収縮の状態、特にフィルム上端部のシワ発生の有無を観察した。3次元曲面部においても、熱収縮ラベルが弛みやシワの発生を伴うことなくPETボトルに密着した状態で収縮しているのが好ましいことは言うまでもない。目視により明らかにシワが発生したフィルムについては、シワが発生しやすい傾向有りとして「C評価」とした。一方、熱収縮ラベルの密着性が特に良好に見えたものを「A評価」とし、熱収縮性ラベルの密着性が良好であったものを「B評価」とした。このうち、「B評価」以上を合格とした。結果を表2~3に示した。
以下(1)~(3)に示す方法でTD方向の熱収縮率を測定した。なお同じ温度におけるMD方向の熱収縮率とTD方向の熱収縮率は同時に測定することが可能である。
(1)延伸フィルムから、MD方向の幅が100mm、TD方向の幅が100mmの試験片を切り出した。
(2)この試験片を80℃の温水中に、10秒間、完全に浸漬させた後、取り出し、直ちに水冷した。水冷後の試料片は、水分を十分に拭き取り、TD方向の長さL(mm)を測定した。
(3)次式により熱収縮率を算出し、小数点以下を四捨五入し整数値とした。
TD方向の熱収縮率(%)={(100-L)/100}×100
(4)100℃の温水中に浸漬させた際の熱収縮率についても、上記の方法と同様にTD方向の熱収縮率を測定した。TD方向の熱収縮率に関しては、80℃におけるTD方向の熱収縮率が30%以上であり、100℃におけるTD方向の熱収縮率が65%以上であれば良好な熱収縮性を示し、収縮不足による弛み等は生じない熱収縮性フィルムであると判断した。
一方、比較例1~4の熱収縮性多層フィルムは、熱収縮仕上がり性、又は耐溶剤性のどちらかが劣っており、これら両方の性能を満たすフィルムは得られなかった。このことから、本実施形態の熱収縮性多層フィルムが、シュリンクフィルムに求められる諸物性を維持しつつも、本発明の最大の特徴である熱収縮仕上がり性により優れ、さらにはインクの希釈有機溶剤に対する耐溶剤性にも優れた材料であることが分かる。なお、本発明では、70℃以上100℃以下におけるMD方向の熱収縮率の最大値が5%以下、かつ最小値が-3%以上であれば、実際の熱収縮させたときの仕上がり性も良好であることが示されている。
Claims (9)
- 少なくとも2種類の層を有する熱収縮性多層フィルムであって、
ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xi)と共役ジエン単量体単位(Yi)とを含むブロック共重合体樹脂(I)を、前記熱収縮性多層フィルムの少なくとも1つの表面層に含み、
前記ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)が、下記(i-1)~(i-4)を満たす、熱収縮性多層フィルム。
(i-1)前記ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xi)と前記共役ジエン単量体単位(Yi)との合計(100質量%)に対する、前記ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xi)の質量割合が60質量%以上82質量%以下であり、前記共役ジエン単量体単位(Yi)の質量割合が18質量%以上40質量%以下である。
(i-2)GPC測定で得られる重量平均分子量(Mwi)が、100,000以上300,000以下である。
(i-3)動的粘弾性測定において、昇温速度4℃/分、周波数1Hz、室温~130℃の温度範囲で測定した損失正接値(tanδi)が、前記温度範囲で少なくとも1つの極大値を有し、前記損失正接値(tanδi)が最大の極大値を示す温度Ti(℃)が、90℃以上120℃以下の温度範囲に存在する。
(i-4)前記ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xi)を主成分とする硬質相と、前記共役ジエン単量体単位(Yi)を主成分とする軟質相とが、ラメラ構造のミクロ相分離構造を有する。 - 前記ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)が、分岐構造のブロック共重合体を含むブロック共重合体樹脂である、請求項1に記載の熱収縮性多層フィルム。
- ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xii)と共役ジエン単量体単位(Yii)とを含む、ブロック共重合体樹脂(II)を、前記ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)を含む前記表面層以外の少なくとも1つの層に含み、
前記ブロック共重合体樹脂(II)が、下記(ii-1)~(ii-3)を満たす、請求項1又は2に記載の熱収縮性多層フィルム。
(ii-1)前記ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xii)と前記共役ジエン単量体単位(Yii)の合計(100質量%)に対する、前記ビニル芳香族炭化水素単量体単位(Xii)の質量割合が70質量%以上84質量%以下であり、前記共役ジエン単量体単位(Yii)の質量割合が16質量%以上30質量%以下である。
(ii-2)GPC測定で得られる重量平均分子量(Mwii)が、100,000以上300,000以下である。
(ii-3)動的粘弾性測定において、昇温速度4℃/分、周波数1Hz、室温~130℃の温度範囲で測定した損失正接値(tanδii)が、前記温度範囲で少なくとも1つの極大値を有し、前記損失正接値(tanδii)が最大の極大値を示す温度Tii(℃)は、Ti(℃)との関係において、下記式(1)、(2)を満たす。

動的粘弾性測定において、昇温速度4℃/分、周波数1Hz、室温~130℃の温度範囲で測定した、前記ブロック共重合体樹脂(I)の損失弾性率(E’’i)が最大の極大値を示す温度Ticに対して、(Tic-25)℃以上(Tic+15)℃以下の温度範囲で、前記未延伸の多層フィルムをMD方向に1.00倍以上1.30倍以下の範囲で延伸し、TD方向に3.0倍以上8.0倍以下の範囲で延伸する工程を含む、熱収縮性多層フィルムの製造方法。 - 請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の熱収縮性多層フィルムを用いてなる、熱収縮性ラベル。
- 請求項8に記載の熱収縮性ラベルを熱収縮することによる、ラベルの製造方法。
