Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an innovative strapping station, namely a station for the application of a band, referred to as strap, around an object.
  • Strapping stations generally comprise a gantry structure with a strapping unit which is designed to form a band ring around the object, recover and pull the band so as to tighten the ring around the object and then weld its two end edges so as to close it stably around the object and finally separate it form the remainder of the band.

  • the objects may thus be advantageously sequentially fed to the station by means of a suitable sequential transport system (for example a conveyor belt).
  • the maintenance of the known strapping stations is usually complicated by the fact that the assembly formed by the strapping unit is difficult to access owing to its position inside the operating zone of the machine. Moreover, in the case where the station comprises a section of a system for transporting the objects, this section is also difficult to reach by the personnel who are responsible for maintenance because it crosses the operating zone of the station and is at least partially hidden by the latter.
  • the general object of the present invention is to provide a strapping station which may be easily maintained and which allows easy access also to the parts of a conveyor device which may be present in its operating zone.
