Description

組電池 関連出願の相互参照
 本出願は、2019年3月7日に出願された日本出願番号2019-041906号に基づくもので、ここにその記載内容を援用する。
 本開示は、組電池に関する。
 特許文献1には、複数の電池セルと電池セルと熱交換する熱交換部を有する熱交換器とを備えるバッテリモジュールが開示されている。熱交換器は、電池セルに隣接する複数の熱交換部と隣り合う熱交換部同士を連結する複数のヘアピン部とを有する扁平なパイプであり、全体として蛇行する流路を形成する。
 特許文献2には、特許文献1と同様にサーペンタイン形状である冷却ブラダを備えるエネルギー貯蔵装置が開示されている。冷却ブラダは、電池セルに隣接する複数の熱交換部と隣り合う熱交換部同士を連結する複数の直角状曲がり部とを有する扁平なパイプであり、全体として蛇行する流路を形成する。

 特許文献1によれば、電池セルの側面から突出するヘアピン部の突出長さが大きく、組電池の体格を大きくする一因となっている。特許文献2によれば、複数の電池セルと冷却ブラダとが密着した拘束状態では、冷却ブラダの直角状曲がり部による荷重が電池セルの角部などに作用して応力が発生しやすい。
 本開示は、電池セルに生じる応力抑制と体格抑制とが図れる組電池を提供することを目的とする。

 本開示の態様における組電池は、積層設置されている複数の電池セルを含む電池積層体と、内部通路を流通する熱媒体と電池セルとが熱交換するように設けられた熱媒体通路部材とを備える。熱媒体通路部材は、積層方向に隣り合う電池セルと電池セルの間に介在し内部を流通する熱媒体と電池セルとが熱交換するセル間部と、積層方向に隣り合うセル間部とセル間部とを連結しかつ電池セルよりも外側に突出する部分であって内部を熱媒体が流れる連結部とを有する。連結部は、3つの曲がり部を有する。3つの曲がり部は、例えば、少なくとも二つの凸部または凹部を有する異なる曲線形状部分である。3つの曲がり部は、例えば、セル間部側の部分に対してセル間部から離れた部分が徐々に接近するように形成された一対の第1曲がり部と、一対の第1曲がり部の間において第1曲がり部よりもセル間部から離間した位置において外側に膨らむ一対の第2曲がり部と、一対の第2曲がり部を連結する部分の一部であって第2曲がり部に対して電池セルに近づくように凹む第3曲がり部とを含む。
 この組電池によれば、隣り合うセル間部を連結する連結部は、セル間部から離れた部分が徐々に接近するように形成された一対の第1曲がり部を備える。一対の第1曲がり部は、セル間部と第1曲がり部とが直角状の角度よりも大きい角度をなし、かつ一対の第1曲がり部が徐々に接近して第2曲がり部に向かう形状である。このため、連結部が、セル間部と隣接する電池セルの角部に与える荷重を抑制でき、電池セルにおける応力集中を緩和できる。
 さらに連結部は、第1曲がり部よりも電池セルに対して外側に膨らむ一対の第2曲がり部の間において電池セル側に凹む第3曲がり部を備える。第3曲がり部は、一対の第2曲がり部の間において電池セルに対する連結部の突出量を抑えることに貢献している。以上によれば、電池セルに生じる応力抑制と体格抑制とが図れる組電池を提供できる。

 以下に、図面を参照しながら本開示を実施するための複数の形態を説明する。各形態において先行する形態で説明した事項に対応する部分には同一の参照符号を付して重複する説明を省略する場合がある。各形態において構成の一部のみを説明している場合は、構成の他の部分については先行して説明した他の形態を適用することができる。各実施形態で具体的に組み合わせが可能であることを明示している部分同士の組み合わせばかりではなく、特に組み合わせに支障が生じなければ、明示していなくても実施形態同士を部分的に組み合せることも可能である。
 (第1実施形態)
 組電池1は、複数の電池セル2を有する電池積層体10と、電池積層体10を積層方向い拘束して支持する拘束バンド5,6と、熱媒体通路部材4とを備える装置である。組電池1は、例えば内燃機関と電池に充電された電力によって駆動されるモータとを組み合わせて走行駆動源とするハイブリッド自動車、モータを走行駆動源とする電気自動車等の電動車に搭載される。組電池1に含まれる複数の電池セル2は、例えばニッケル水素二次電池、リチウムイオン二次電池、有機ラジカル電池、全固体電池などである。
 第1実施形態について図1~図9を参照して説明する。各図において、電池セル2の厚さ方向は電池積層体10における電池セル2の積層方向であり、電池積層方向ともいう。積層方向と高さ方向との両方に直交する方向は、電池セル2の幅方向または横方向である。組電池1は、複数の電池セル2の充電および放電または温度調節に用いられる電子部品によって制御されている。組電池1は、通電可能に接続されかつ積層設置された複数の電池セル2を積層方向に拘束して一体にして形成されている。組電池1は筐体内に収納するようにしてもよい。前述の電子部品は、例えばDC/DCコンバータ、熱媒体を流動させる流体駆動装置を駆動するモータ、インバータによって制御される電子部品、各種の電子式制御装置等である。組電池1は、このような電子部品を含めた装置として構成してもよい。
 電池積層体10を構成する電池セル2は、角形状の外装ケースを有する単電池である。角形状の単電池は、例えばアルミニウム、アルミニウム合金等からなる外装ケースによってその外周面を被覆された直方体状である。各電池セル2には、正極端子および負極端子からなる二つの電極端子20のそれぞれが外装ケースの上面21から突出している。電極端子20の突出方向は、電池積層方向に対して垂直な上方向である。電池セル2の外装ケースは、例えば、金属の他に、樹脂で形成されている構成でもよい。電池セル2は、樹脂とアルミ箔をラミネートしたフィルムを外装ケースとして備えるものでもよい。
 電池積層体10は、電池セル2と熱媒体通路部材4のセル間部44とを交互に所定個数積層した集合体である。この集合体は、積層方向の両端部から一組のエンドプレート3によって挟まれることにより内側に向かう拘束力によって、一体に形成されている。エンドプレート3は厚さ方向寸法が上下方向長さや幅方向長さよりも小さい扁平状の箱体に形成されている。図1~図3に示すように、組電池1は、積層設置された複数の電池セル2と熱媒体通路部材4の内部通路を流通する熱媒体とが熱交換する機能を有する装置である。熱媒体は、冷却したり加熱したりして電池セル2を温度調節可能な温調流体である。熱媒体は、気体、液体または気液混合の流体であり、あるいは使用時に状態変化を伴わない流体でもよいし相変化を伴う流体であってもよい。組電池1は、複数の電池セル2と一体に設置された熱媒体通路部材4を備えている。熱媒体通路部材4は、熱伝導性を有する材料、例えばアルミニウムを含む金属、銅を含む金属、金属を含有する樹脂材料、カーボン樹脂材料等で形成されている。
 拘束バンド5、拘束バンド6は、一組のエンドプレート3に対して両側から圧縮するような拘束力を提供する。拘束バンド5、拘束バンド6のそれぞれは、電池積層体10と一組のエンドプレート3とを合わせた積層体の外面を支持する帯状部材である。拘束バンド5,6のそれぞれは、電池積層体10に対して圧縮力を提供している状態を維持できるように端部がリベットによって一組のエンドプレート3に固定されている。エンドプレート3は、上面と、上面に対向する下面と、一組の側面と、隣接する電池セル2に対面する内側の幅面と、内側の幅面に対向する外側の幅面とを備えている。一組の側面は、上面および下面に隣り合い、上下方向に細長い面である。また、リベットは、ボルトナット、ねじ等の締結固定手段、溶接等の固定手段に置き換えることができる。拘束バンド5,6のそれぞれは、複数の電池セル2等を安定した力で押圧して一体化できるように金属、硬質の樹脂材料等の強度に優れた材料で形成されている。
 拘束バンド5と拘束バンド6は、電池積層体10を積層方向に圧縮するような拘束力を与える点について共通している。拘束バンド5と拘束バンド6は、電池積層体10において拘束する部位が異なっている。
 拘束バンド5は、電池積層体10において積層方向と高さ方向とに沿う側壁に対して、積層方向の全体にわたって橋渡しされている帯状部50を備える。帯状部50は、電池積層体10に対して離間している。拘束バンド5は、帯状部50の両端に位置する固定部51を備える。固定部51は、拘束バンド5が組電池1に対して固定されている部位である。固定部51は、帯状部50における長手方向の両端部において帯状部50に対して直交するように延びる板状部である。拘束バンド5は、固定部51が各エンドプレート3にリベット等によって固定されていることにより、電池積層体10に対して必要な拘束力を提供している状態を維持する。固定部51は、各エンドプレート3の下部に固定されている。
 組電池1は、少なくとも2個の拘束バンド5を備えている。拘束バンド5は、電池積層体10を形成する面のうち、対面関係にあるそれぞれの面に対面する帯状部50を有する。一組の拘束バンド5は、電池積層体10の下部において対向する対面を積層方向長さにわたって覆う第1の拘束バンドである。
 帯状部50は、電池積層体10に含まれる電池セル2の側面23の一部を覆って電池積層体10の積層方向長さ全体にわたって配されている。帯状部50は、電池積層体10の側壁において、熱媒体通路部材4に干渉しない箇所を外側から覆っている。帯状部50は、電池積層体10の側壁において、熱媒体通路部材4よりも、拘束バンド6から離れた箇所である下方の位置に設置されている。拘束バンド5は、電池積層体10の側壁において、拘束バンド6が支持している電池積層体10の上壁に対して最も離れた下壁寄りの下部に設置されている。
 一組の拘束バンド5は、電池積層体10において対面をなす一組の側壁において積層方向長さの全体にわたって延びている。このため、拘束バンド5は、積層方向の端部が中央部に対して反るような動きを抑えるように電池積層体10を補強している。拘束バンド5は、電極端子20に関する幅方向の変位を抑制することにも寄与し、電極端子20と電極端子20とを連結するバスバなどの電装部品の品質確保に貢献する。拘束バンド5は、電池積層体10の対面について積層方向の端部が中央部に対して幅方向に反るような外力に対して、電池積層体10の強度向上に寄与する。
 拘束バンド6は、電池積層体10において積層方向と幅方向とに沿う上壁に対して、積層方向の全体にわたって橋渡しされている帯状部60を備える。帯状部60は、電池積層体10に対して離間している。拘束バンド6は、帯状部60の両端に位置する固定部61を備える。固定部61は、拘束バンド6が組電池1に対して固定されている部位である。固定部61は、帯状部60における長手方向の両端部において帯状部60に対して直交するように延びる板状部である。拘束バンド6は、固定部61が各エンドプレート3にリベット等によって固定されていることにより、電池積層体10に対して必要な拘束力を提供している状態を維持する。固定部61は、各エンドプレート3の上部に固定されている。
 組電池1は、少なくとも2個の拘束バンド6を備えている。拘束バンド6は、電池積層体10を形成する面のうち、側壁と隣接する面に対面する帯状部50を有する。一組の拘束バンド6は、電池積層体10の上部において対向する対面を積層方向長さにわたって覆う第2の拘束バンドである。
 帯状部60は、電池積層体10に含まれる電池セル2の上面21の一部を覆って電池積層体10の積層方向長さ全体にわたって配されている。帯状部50は、電池積層体10の上壁において、電極端子20に干渉しない箇所を外側から覆っている。帯状部60は、電池積層体10の上壁において、電極端子20よりも幅方向の端部側の箇所に設置されている。また、帯状部60は、電池積層体10の上壁において、電極端子20と電極端子20との間の箇所を覆う構成でもよい。
 一組の拘束バンド6は、電池積層体10の上壁において積層方向長さの全体にわたって延びている。このため、拘束バンド6は、積層方向の端部が中央部に対して反るような動きを抑えるように電池積層体10を補強している。拘束バンド6は、電極端子20に関する上下方向の変位を抑制することにも寄与し、電極端子20と電極端子20とを連結するバスバなどの電装部品の品質確保に貢献する。拘束バンド6は、電池積層体10の上壁において幅方向の両端部を覆っている。このため、一方の側壁に近い側に位置する電極端子20の変位抑制と、他方の側壁に近い側に位置する電極端子20の変位抑制との両方に貢献する。拘束バンド6は、積層方向の端部が中央部に対して上下方向に反るような外力に対して、電池積層体10の強度向上に寄与する。
 拘束バンド6は、拘束バンド5が覆う側壁に隣接し、互いに対向し幅方向および積層方向に沿うように形成された面をなす電池積層体10の下壁の一部を覆う構成でもよい。さらに組電池1は、上壁と下壁の片方だけでなく両方の一部を覆うように設けられた拘束バンド6を有する構成でもよい。
 図4~図6に示すように、熱媒体通路部材4は、第1通路部4aと第2通路部4bとを備えている。第1通路部4aは、熱媒体が積層方向の一方側から他方側に流下する内部通路を有する。第2通路部4bは、熱媒体が積層方向の他方側から一方側に流下する内部通路を有する。第1通路部4aと第2通路部4bとは、他方端部に設けられた中継部41において連結されている。第1通路部4aは一方端部に流入部40を有している。第2通路部4bは一方端部に流出部42を有している。第1通路部4aは熱媒体通路部材4において上側に位置する。第2通路部4bは下側に位置する。第1通路部4aと第2通路部4bは上下に重なるように並んでいる。第1通路部4aや第2通路部4bは、図6に示すように、内部に複数の通路を有する。この場合、第1通路部4a、第2通路部4bには、押し出し成形により製造された扁平状多穴管を用いることができる。
 第1通路部4a、第2通路部4bは、積層方向に隣り合う電池セル2と電池セル2との間に介在するセル間部44を複数備えている。セル間部44の内部通路には熱媒体が流通する。複数のセル間部44は積層方向に並ぶように設置されている。積層方向に隣り合うセル間部44とセル間部44とには、電池セル2の積層方向の厚さ寸法と同等の間隔が設けられている。セル間部44は、幅方向と上下方向とに面をなす電池セル2の幅面22と接触した状態で設置されている。幅面22は電池セル2において最も面積の大きい腹面でもある。電池セル2とセル間部44との間には、熱伝導性を有するスペーサ部材を介在させて、スペーサ部材を電池セル2とセル間部44とによって挟み込むように構成してもよい。
 第1通路部4a、第2通路部4bは、積層方向に隣り合うセル間部44とセル間部44とを連結する連結部43を備えている。連結部43は、熱媒体通路部材4の高さ方向全体にわたって設けられている。連結部43の内部通路には熱媒体が流通する。連結部43は、電池セル2の幅方向について、電池セル2よりも外側に位置するように設けられている。連結部43は、上面21と幅面22との両方に直交する電池セル2の側面23に対向するように外側に設けられている。
 連結部43は、熱媒体通路部材4の内部を流れる熱媒体が折り返されてその流れの向きを変えて互いに対向する折返し流路を形成するターン部であり、折返し部でもある。連結部43は、流路の向きを逆向きに変更する折返し部である。連結部43は、第1通路部4a、第2通路部4bのそれぞれにおいて少なくとも1箇所設けられている。第1通路部4a、第2通路部4bは、連結部43を介して折返し流路を連続的に積層することにより、図2、図4、図5に示すような蛇行流路を形成している。
 図7に示すように、連結部43は、電池セル2を介して積層方向に隣り合う2個のセル間部44を電池セル2よりも外側において連結し、側面23から離間した部分である。連結部43は、電池セル2に対して突出するように設けられている。連結部43は、明細書に開示の目的を達成可能な特有の構成を有している。
 連結部43は、熱媒体通路部材4において曲げ加工が施されて形成された部分である。連結部43は、一対の第1曲がり部432と一対の第2曲がり部433と第3曲がり部431とを備えている。
 第1曲がり部432は、電池セル2を介して積層方向に隣り合う2個のセル間部44のそれぞれから、電池セル2の外側に延びている部分である。第1曲がり部432は、セル間部44に対して直角状に折り曲げられた部分ではなく、湾曲形状をなしている。第1曲がり部432は、図7の二点鎖線で示されたセル間部44の軸線に対して、連結部43によって連結されたもう一つのセル間部44に近づくように曲がっている。第1曲がり部432は、第1曲がり部432の接線とセル間部44の軸線とが鈍角をなす角度で、もう一つのセル間部44に近づくように曲がっている。連結部43は、隣り合う2個のセル間部44から電池セル2の外側へ延びる一対の第1曲がり部432を積層方向の両端に備えている。さらに一対の第1曲がり部432は、セル間部44から離れるにつれて徐々に接近するように形成されている。第1曲がり部432は、連結部43の高さ方向全体にわたって設けられている。
 仮に、第1曲がり部とセル間部とが直角または鋭角をなす場合は、第1曲がり部やセル間部の端部が隣の電池セル2の角部を押す荷重が発生する。このような荷重によれば、特許文献2について前述したように電池セルの角部に応力が発生しやすい。第1曲がり部432は、セル間部44と鈍角をなす形状であるため、第1曲がり部432やセル間部の端部が隣の電池セル2の角部を押す荷重を低減する効果を奏する。
 第2曲がり部433は、一対の第1曲がり部432のそれぞれから、電池セル2の外側に膨らむ突出部である。第2曲がり部433は、連結部43において、電池セル2の側面23から最も離間した部分である。第2曲がり部433は、第1曲がり部432に対して直角状に折り曲げられた部分ではなく、第1曲がり部432と同様に湾曲形状をなしている。第2曲がり部433は、連結部43において、第1曲がり部432から第3曲がり部431へと向きが変わる部分である。第2曲がり部433は、連結部43の高さ方向全体にわたって設けられている。
 第2曲がり部433から第3曲がり部431へ延びる部分は、セル間部44の軸線に対し連結部43によって連結されたもう一つのセル間部44に近づいている。第2曲がり部433から第3曲がり部431へ延びる部分は、セル間部44の軸線に対して鋭角をなす角度で、もう一つのセル間部44や電池セル2に近づいている。
 第3曲がり部431は一対の第2曲がり部433を連結する部分である。第3曲がり部431は、両側に位置する第2曲がり部433に対して電池セル2に近づくように凹む部分である。第3曲がり部431は、連結部43の高さ方向全体にわたって設けられている。以上の構成により、連結部43は、一対の第1曲がり部432と一対の第2曲がり部433と第3曲がり部431とが一繋がりに湾曲する波形状に形成されている。
 図8および図9を参照して熱媒体通路部材4を製造する方法について説明する。熱媒体通路部材4の製造工程は、以下に述べる第1工程から第3工程を含んでいる。製造方法の第1工程では、扁平状の管を準備する。次に第2工程では、扁平状の管を、図4に示すように連結部43とセル間部44を形成しかつ全体として蛇行状となるように加工する。
 第3工程は、第2工程後の蛇行状の管を、電池積層体10に搭載可能な最終形状に形成する工程である。第3工程では、治具11を使用して蛇行状の管を、積層方向に隣り合う2個のセル間部44の間隔が電池セル2の厚さ寸法と同等になるように形成する。図8は、熱媒体通路部材4と治具11とに圧縮荷重をかける前の状態を示している。
 第3工程では、図9のように、セル間部44とセル間部44の間に電池セル2の厚さ寸法と同等の治具11を設置した一体物に対して積層方向の圧縮荷重を所定時間かけ続ける。第3工程完了後には、図8に示す状態に比べて、第3曲がり部431と第2曲がり部433との凹凸差が大きくなるように連結部43が変形する。さらに第3工程完了後には、積層方向に隣り合う2個のセル間部44の間隔が図8に示す状態に比べて電池セル2の厚さ寸法に近づくように変形する。以上の工程によって製造された熱媒体通路部材4は、拘束バンド5,6によって積層方向の拘束力がかけられた状態で電池積層体10に組みつけられる。
 第1通路部4aは、折返し流路の積層方向、すなわち積層方向の一方端部に熱媒体が流入する流入部40を備えている。流入部40は、流入コネクタ部400に結合されている。流入部40は、組電池1の外部からの熱媒体が、流入コネクタ部400を介して熱媒体通路部材4内に流入する流入部である。流入コネクタ部400には、組電池1の外部から熱媒体を導入する配管が接続されている。流入部40は、積層方向の一方端部であり熱媒体通路部材4の上流端部に位置するセル間部44の内部通路に連通している。この内部通路は、熱媒体と電池積層体10のうち一方端部に位置する電池セル2の上部とが熱交換するように一方端部の電池セル2に対して熱伝達可能に設けられている。
 第1通路部4aは、積層方向の他方端部において中継部41の上部に連通している。第2通路部4bは、積層方向の他方端部において中継部41の下部に連通している。中継部41は、熱媒体が第1通路部4aから第2通路部4bに移行して逆向きの流れになる内部空間を形成する。中継部41の内部通路は、第1通路部4aにおいて積層方向の他方端部に位置するセル間部44の内部通路に対して下流側で連通している。この内部通路は、熱媒体と電池積層体10のうち他方端部に位置する電池セル2の上部とが熱交換するように他方端部の電池セル2に対して熱伝達可能に設けられている。
 中継部41の内部通路は、第2通路部4bにおいて積層方向の他方端部に位置するセル間部44の内部通路に対して上流側で連通している。この内部通路は、熱媒体と電池積層体10のうち他方端部に位置する電池セル2の下部とが熱交換するように他方端部の電池セル2に対して熱伝達可能に設けられている。
 第2通路部4bは、積層方向の一方端部から熱媒体が流出する流出部42を備えている。流出部42は、流出コネクタ部420に結合されている。流出部42は、熱媒体が、流出コネクタ部420を介して熱媒体通路部材4内から組電池1の外部へ流出する流出部である。流出コネクタ部420には、組電池1の外部へ熱媒体を流出させる配管が接続されている。流出部42は、積層方向の一方端部であり熱媒体通路部材4の下流端部に位置するセル間部44の内部通路に連通している。この内部通路は、熱媒体と電池積層体10のうち一方端部に位置する電池セル2の下部とが熱交換するように、一方端部の電池セル2に対して熱伝達可能に設けられている。
 第1通路部4a、第2通路部4bは、熱媒体が電池セル2と熱交換するときの流れ方向である幅方向と積層方向との両方に直交する上下方向に細長い扁平管である。第1通路部4a、第2通路部4bは、この扁平管を曲げたサーペンタイン管によって形成することができる。
 熱媒体は、一方端上部の流入部40から上側のサーペンタイン管内に流入し、上半分の各セル間部44を蛇行しながら他方端部の中継部41内の上部に流入する。このように第1通路部4aは、一方端部から他方端部へ電池セル2の上半分を沿うように蛇行する流路を形成する。熱媒体は、さらに中継部41内において上部から下部に流下し、中継部41内の下部から下側のサーペンタイン管内に流入する。さらに熱媒体は、下半分の各セル間部44を蛇行しながら流下した後、一方端下部の流出部42から流出する。このように第2通路部4bは、他方端部から一方端部へ電池セル2の下半分を沿うように蛇行する流路を形成する。
 組電池1において熱媒体通路部材4の内部通路に熱媒体が流通することにより、セル間部44を介して電池セル2の熱が熱媒体に吸熱されて各電池セル2を冷却できる。また熱媒体通路部材4に内部通路に熱媒体が流通することにより、セル間部44を介して熱媒体の熱を電池セル2へ放熱して各電池セル2を暖めることができる。組電池1は、熱媒体通路部材4の流入部40から流入した熱媒体が流出部42に至るまでの間に、積層方向に並ぶすべてのセル間部44において電池セル2と熱交換する。
 第1通路部4aは以下のような構成でもあってもよい。例えば、一方端部に位置する上流側のセル間部44と他方端部に位置する下流側のセル間部44とは、その間にセル間部44を介さないで連結されている構成でもよい。この場合、一方端部のセル間部44と他方端部のセル間部44は、連結部43によって連結されている。また、一方端部のセル間部44と他方端部のセル間部44とは、電池積層体10において部分的に設けられたセル間部44を介して連結されている構成でもよい。このような構成である場合、一方端部のセル間部44と他方端部のセル間部44とは、熱媒体が一方端部から他方端部へ内部通路を流下するように連通している。
 第2通路部4bは以下のような構成でもあってもよい。例えば、他方端部に位置する上流側のセル間部44と一方端部に位置する下流側のセル間部44とは、その間にセル間部44を介さないで連結されている構成でもよい。この場合、他方端部のセル間部44と一方端部のセル間部44は、連結部43によって連結されている。また、他方端部のセル間部44と一方端部のセル間部44とは、電池積層体10において部分的に設けられたセル間部44を介して連結されている構成でもよい。このような構成である場合、他方端部のセル間部44と一方端部のセル間部44とは熱媒体が他方端部から一端部へ内部通路を流下するように連通している。
 第1実施形態の組電池1がもたらす作用、効果について説明する。組電池1は、複数の電池セル2を含む電池積層体10と、内部通路を流通する熱媒体と電池セル2とが熱交換するように設けられた熱媒体通路部材4とを備える。熱媒体通路部材4は、積層方向に隣り合う電池セル2の間に介在するセル間部44と、積層方向に隣り合う2個のセル間部44を連結する連結部43とを有する。連結部43は、電池セル2よりも外側に突出する部分であって内部を熱媒体が流れる。連結部43は、一対の第1曲がり部432と一対の第2曲がり部433と第3曲がり部431とを含んでいる。一対の第1曲がり部432は、セル間部44側の部分に対してセル間部44から離れた部分が徐々に接近するように形成されている。一対の第2曲がり部433は、一対の第1曲がり部432の間において第1曲がり部432よりもセル間部44から離間した位置において外側に膨らむ。第3曲がり部431は、一対の第2曲がり部433を連結する部分の一部であって第2曲がり部433に対して電池セル2に近づくように凹む。
 組電池1によれば、隣り合うセル間部44を連結する連結部43は、セル間部44から離れた部分が徐々に接近するように形成された一対の第1曲がり部432を備える。一対の第1曲がり部432は、セル間部44と第1曲がり部432とが直角状の角度よりも大きい角度をなしている。一対の第1曲がり部432は、さらに一対の第1曲がり部432が徐々に接近して第2曲がり部433へ延びる形状をなしている。このため、連結部43がセル間部44と隣接する電池セル2の角部に与える荷重を抑制できるので、電池セル2における応力集中を緩和できる。
 さらに連結部43は、一対の第2曲がり部433の間において電池セルに向けて内側に凹む第3曲がり部431を備える。第3曲がり部431は、一対の第2曲がり部433の間において、電池セル2に対する連結部43の突出寸法を抑えることに貢献する。連結部43と電池セル2の外表面との間の容積が抑制できるため、組電池1におけるデッドスペースを小さくすることができる。以上のように組電池1は、電池セル2に生じる応力抑制と体格抑制とを図ることができる。
 連結部43は、一対の第1曲がり部432と一対の第2曲がり部433と第3曲がり部431とが一繋がりに湾曲する波形状に形成されている。この構成によれば、連結部43の全体が湾曲した波形状に形成されていることにより、連結部43に角部などが存在しないため、各曲がり部に発生する応力集中を抑制することができる。これにより、曲がり部を形成するときの連結部43にかかる負荷を抑制するとともに、連結部43の内部通路における流路抵抗を抑制できる組電池1を提供できる。
 組電池1は、電池積層体10とセル間部44に対して積層方向に拘束力を与える拘束バンド5,6を備える。拘束バンド5,6は、一対の第1曲がり部432、一対の第2曲がり部433および第3曲がり部431を、セル間部44を介して積層方向に圧縮している。
 この構成によれば、拘束バンド5,6は、電池セル2とともにセル間部44を積層方向に圧縮することにより、すべての曲がり部に圧縮力を与えている。このように第3曲がり部431は両側の一対の第2曲がり部433を介して圧縮されて、電池セル2に近づくように変形させる圧縮力が第3曲がり部431に作用し続ける。以上より、拘束バンド5,6によって、第2曲がり部433に対して電池セル2に近づくように凹む状態を維持し続ける第3曲がり部431を提供できる。
 セル間部44と連結部43は、電池積層体10における積層方向の一方端部から他方端部にかけてのすべての電池セル2と熱交換する熱媒体が流下する一連の内部通路を形成するように設けられている。この構成によれば、組電池1は、すべての電池セル2の側面23に対向するような複数の連結部43を有する。このため、電池積層体10の積層方向長さ全体にわたって、デッドスペースの抑制が図れ、すべての電池セル2に生じる応力を抑制することができる。
 (第2実施形態)
 第2実施形態について図10を参照して説明する。図10において前述の実施形態と同様の構成であるものは同一の符号を付し、同様の作用、効果を奏する。第2実施形態で特に説明しない構成、作用、効果については、第1実施形態と同様であり、第1実施形態と異なる点についてのみ説明する。
 第2実施形態は、第1実施形態に対して、連結部43と電池セル2の側面23との位置関係が相違する。図10に示すように、連結部43は、電池セル2と接触するように設けられている。第1曲がり部432と第2曲がり部433は、電池セル2の側面23から離間している。熱媒体通路部材4は、第3曲がり部431が電池セル2の側面23に接触した状態で設けられている。一対の第2曲がり部433と電池セル2の側面23との間には、空気が存在する空間が形成されている。第2曲がり部433と電池セル2の側面23との間は、空気を送風する通風通路としてもよい。
 また、第2曲がり部433と電池セル2の側面23との間には、第3実施形態において後述する熱伝導性部材と同様の部材を設けるように構成してもよい。これによれば、第2曲がり部433と電池セル2とは、熱伝導性部材を介して熱移動可能に構成されている。
 一対の第2曲がり部433と電池セル2とは、介在物を介して熱移動可能に構成してもよい。この介在物は、第2曲がり部433と電池セル2の側面23との両方に接触している。この介在物は、電池セルと一体になって第2曲がり部433を支持している構成要素でもある。
 第2実施形態によれば、第3曲がり部431は電池セル2に接触している。この構成によれば、第3曲がり部431と電池セル2との間で熱移動良好な関係を構築できる。これにより、電池セル2に生じる応力抑制と体格抑制とを図るとともに、第3曲がり部431において電池セル2を温調する機能部分として活用できる組電池1が得られる。
 第3曲がり部431は、電池セル2に対して介在物を介して間接的に接触している。この構成によれば、第3曲がり部431と電池セル2とを介在物によって支持できるので、外力が作用した場合に連結部43の変形を抑制できる。弾力性のある変形容易な介在物を採用した場合には、連結部43に作用する外力を吸収でき、連結部43の変形を抑制できる。弾力性のある変形容易な介在物を採用した場合には、連結部43に作用する外力を吸収でき、連結部43の変形を抑制できる。
 (第3実施形態)
 第3実施形態について図11を参照して説明する。図11において前述の実施形態と同様の構成であるものは同一の符号を付し、同様の作用、効果を奏する。第3実施形態で特に説明しない構成、作用、効果については、第1実施形態と同様であり、第1実施形態と異なる点についてのみ説明する。
 第3実施形態は、第1実施形態に対して、連結部43と電池セル2の側面23との間に熱伝導性部材7が介在する点が相違する。図11に示すように、熱伝導性部材7は、連結部43と電池セル2の側面23との両方に接触した状態で設置されている。連結部43と電池セル2とは、熱伝導性部材7を介して熱移動可能に構成されている。熱伝導性部材7は、空気よりも熱伝導率が高く、連結部43の内面と電池セル2の側面23との間の熱移動を高める部材である。熱伝導性部材7には、例えば熱伝導率の高い金属やグラファイトを用いることができる。
 熱伝導性部材7は、連結部43と電池セル2との間に形成された空間を埋められるように形状変化が容易な部材であることが好ましい。熱伝導性部材7は、一対の第1曲がり部432と一対の第2曲がり部433と第3曲がり部431とのすべてに接触し、かつ電池セル2に接触して設けられることが好ましい。熱伝導性部材7には、連結部43との接触面積や電池セル2との接触面積を高めるように、ジェル状の放熱用グリスや、熱伝導率が高い液状物を収納した袋状体を採用できる。
 第3実施形態によれば、組電池1は、連結部43と電池セル2との間に介在し、連結部43と電池セル2との両方に接触する熱伝導性部材7を備える。この構成によれば、電池セル2と連結部43とは熱伝導性部材7を介して熱移動容易に構成されるため、電池セル2に対する冷却能力や暖機能力を高めることができる。
 熱伝導性部材7は、一対の第1曲がり部432と一対の第2曲がり部433と第3曲がり部431とのすべてに接触する。熱伝導性部材7は、連結部43に対向する電池セル2の側面23に接触している。この構成によれば、一対の第1曲がり部432と一対の第2曲がり部433と第3曲がり部431とが熱伝導性部材7を介して電池セル2に伝熱良好な状態で接触する。これにより、電池セル2に生じる応力抑制と体格抑制とを図るとともに、連結部43の広範囲において電池セル2を温調する機能部分として活用できる組電池1が得られる。
 さらに組電池1は、すべての電池セル2の側面23に対向するような複数の連結部43を有することが好ましい。これによれば、すべての電池セル2が熱伝導性部材7を介して連結部43に伝熱良好な状態で接触するため、冷却能力や暖機能力が向上する組電池1を提供できる。
 (第4実施形態)
 第4実施形態について図12を参照して説明する。第4実施形態で特に説明しない構成、作用、効果については、前述の実施形態と同様である。
 第4実施形態は、第1実施形態に対して、熱媒体通路部材104の内部通路に関する構成が相違する。図12に示すように、熱媒体通路部材104は、それぞれ単一の通路を内部に有する、第1通路部4aと第2通路部4bを備える。第1通路部4aと第2通路部4bは、板材を図12に示す形状になるように折り曲げ加工することにより形成することができる。
 (第5実施形態)
 第5実施形態について図13を参照して説明する。第5実施形態で特に説明しない構成、作用、効果については、第1実施形態から第3実施形態と同様である。
 第5実施形態は、第1実施形態から第3実施形態に対して、熱媒体通路部材204の内部通路に関する構成が相違する。図13に示すように、熱媒体通路部材204は、それぞれ単一の通路を内部に有する、第1通路部4aと第2通路部4bを備える。熱媒体通路部材204は、内部が仕切り部によって第1通路部4aと第2通路部4bとに区画形成された扁平管を用いて製造することができる。
 (第6実施形態)
 第6実施形態について図14を参照して説明する。第6実施形態で特に説明しない構成、作用、効果については、第1実施形態から第3実施形態と同様である。
 第6実施形態は、第1実施形態から第3実施形態に対して、熱媒体通路部材304の内部通路に関する構成が相違する。図14に示すように、熱媒体通路部材304は、内部に、波形状のインナーフィンにより区画された複数の通路を有する。この複数の通路には、熱媒体が一方向に流れる。つまり、熱媒体通路部材304は、熱媒体が積層方向における一方側から他方側へ一方通行に流れる流路構成を有する。熱媒体通路部材304は、図14に示すように、インナーフィンを内蔵するように板材を折り曲げ加工することによって形成することができる。
 (第7実施形態)
 第7実施形態について図15を参照して説明する。第7実施形態で特に説明しない構成、作用、効果については、第1実施形態から第3実施形態と同様である。
 第7実施形態は、第1実施形態から第3実施形態に対して、熱媒体通路部材404の内部通路に関する構成が相違する。図15に示すように、熱媒体通路部材404は、熱媒体が一方向に流れる複数の通路を内部に有する。熱媒体通路部材404は、熱媒体が積層方向における一方側から他方側へ一方通行に流れる流路構成を有する。熱媒体通路部材404は、押し出し成形により形成された扁平状多穴管を加工して、セル間部44および連結部43を形成することにより製造することができる。
 (他の実施形態)
 この明細書の開示は、例示された実施形態に制限されない。開示は、例示された実施形態と、それらに基づく当業者による変形態様を包含する。例えば、開示は、実施形態において示された部品、要素の組み合わせに限定されず、種々変形して実施することが可能である。開示は、多様な組み合わせによって実施可能である。開示は、実施形態に追加可能な追加的な部分をもつことができる。開示は、実施形態の部品、要素が省略されたものを包含する。開示は、一つの実施形態と他の実施形態との間における部品、要素の置き換え、または組み合わせを包含する。開示される技術的範囲は、実施形態の記載に限定されない。開示される技術的範囲は、特許請求の範囲の記載によって示され、さらに特許請求の範囲の記載と均等の意味および範囲内でのすべての変更を含むものと解されるべきである。
 上記第一実施例では、第1曲がり部432、第2曲がり部433、第3曲がり部431を連結部43に設けているが、曲がり部の形状はそれに限らない。上記の3つの曲がり部は、例えば、少なくとも二つの凸部または凹部を有する異なる曲線形状部分でもよい。
 明細書に開示の目的を達成可能な組電池は、連結部43の高さ方向全体において部分的に設けられている第3曲がり部431を有する構成でもよい。この構成であっても、第3曲がり部431が設けられている部分は組電池1の体格抑制に寄与し、第1曲がり部432が設けられている部分は電池セル2の応力抑制に寄与する。
 明細書に開示の目的を達成可能な組電池は、熱媒体が熱媒体通路部材内を積層方向における一方側から他方側へ一方通行に流れる流路構成を有するものでもよい。また、組電池は、熱媒体通路部材の内部を全体的に積層方向における一方側から他方側に向けて一方通行に流れる流路が上下2個に並ぶ構成を有するものでもよい。
 前述の実施形態の組電池は、電池セル2とセル間部44とを交互に積層した形成された電池の積層体であるが、明細書に開示の目的を達成可能な組電池はこれに限定されない。組電池は、電池積層体10を構成する隣り合う電池セル2間のすべてのうち、セル間部44が特定の電池セル2間のみに介在する構成を備えるものを含んでいる。したがって、組電池1が備える熱媒体通路部材は、少なくとも1個のセル間部44を備える構成を含んでいる。
 前述の実施形態の電池積層体は、各電池セルがセル収容部材によって支持されていない構成であるが、セル収容部材に収容された電池セルを積層した構成でもよい。
 

Claims (9)

  1.  積層設置されている複数の電池セル(2)を含む電池積層体(10)と、
     内部通路を流通する熱媒体と前記電池セルとが熱交換するように設けられた熱媒体通路部材(4、104、204、304、404)とを備え、
     前記熱媒体通路部材は、積層方向に隣り合う前記電池セルと前記電池セルの間に介在し内部を流通する熱媒体と前記電池セルとが熱交換するセル間部(44)と、前記積層方向に隣り合う前記セル間部と前記セル間部とを連結しかつ前記電池セルよりも外側に突出する部分であって内部を前記熱媒体が流れる連結部(43)とを有し、
     前記連結部は、3つの曲がり部を有する組電池。
  2.  前記連結部は、前記セル間部側の部分に対して前記セル間部から離れた部分が徐々に接近するように形成された一対の第1曲がり部(432)と、一対の前記第1曲がり部の間において前記第1曲がり部よりも前記セル間部から離間した位置において外側に膨らむ一対の第2曲がり部(433)と、一対の前記第2曲がり部を連結する部分の一部であって前記第2曲がり部に対して前記電池セルに近づくように凹む第3曲がり部(431)とを含む請求項1に記載の組電池。
  3.  前記連結部は、一対の前記第1曲がり部と一対の前記第2曲がり部と前記第3曲がり部とが一繋がりに湾曲する波形状に形成されている請求項2に記載の組電池。
  4.  前記第3曲がり部は、前記電池セルに接触している請求項2または請求項3に記載の組電池。
  5.  前記第3曲がり部は、前記電池セルに対して介在物を介して間接的に接触している請求項4に記載の組電池。
  6.  前記連結部と前記電池セルとの間に介在し、前記連結部と前記電池セルとの両方に接触する熱伝導性部材(7)を備える請求項1から請求項5のいずれか一項に記載の組電池。
  7.  前記熱伝導性部材は、一対の前記第1曲がり部と一対の前記第2曲がり部と前記第3曲がり部とのすべてに接触し、前記連結部に対向する前記電池セルの側面(23)に接触している請求項6に記載の組電池。
  8.  前記電池積層体と前記セル間部に対して前記積層方向に拘束力を与える拘束バンド(5,6)を備え、
     前記拘束バンドは、一対の前記第1曲がり部、一対の前記第2曲がり部および前記第3曲がり部を、前記セル間部を介して前記積層方向に圧縮している請求項2から請求項7のいずれか一項に記載の組電池。
  9.  前記セル間部と前記連結部は、前記電池積層体における前記積層方向の一方端部から他方端部にかけてのすべての前記電池セルと熱交換する前記熱媒体が流下する一繋がりの前記内部通路を形成するように設けられている請求項1から請求項8のいずれか一項に記載の組電池。
