Abstract

La présente invention se rapporte à un insert de coupe revêtu de film mince de céramique PVD qui peut être utilisé de manière appropriée pour traiter des matériaux difficiles à découper ayant une faible conductivité thermique, tels que l'Inconel et le titane. L'insert de coupe selon la présente invention comprend : un matériau de base en carbure cémenté ayant une valeur de SMS comprise entre 50 et 80 % obtenue en suivant [équation 1], lorsqu'une partie quelconque du matériau de base en carbure cémenté est observée à un grossissement 20 000 X avec un microscope électronique à balayage, la surface d'une structure de Co dans laquelle une zone de 1,5 µm × 1,5 µm (largeur x longueur) de la structure de Co entre, étant égale ou inférieure à 10 % de la surface totale de la structure de Co ; et un film mince de céramique ayant une épaisseur comprise entre 0,4 et 1,5 µm formé sur le matériau de base en carbure cémenté.
