Description

A MIXER APPLIANCE COMPRISING A POURING APPARATUS
The present invention relates to a mixer appliance comprising a pouring apparatus for sequentially introducing a plurality of materials to a mixing chamber.
Mixer appliances are devices used for mixing one or more materials. Materials placed into a mixing chamber of said mixer appliances are mixed by means of a rotating shaft provided with a mixing apparatus at one end by a motor. Said materials are placed manually by a user into the mixing chamber. However, when a plurality of materials are required to be sequentially introduced to the mixing chamber and be mixed therein, this leads to the user to lose time and labor as it should be handled under user supervision.
The aim of the present invention is to realize a mixer appliance resolving the problem of performing sequential introduction of materials in mixers manually and under user supervision.
The mixer appliance of the invention comprises a main body, a mixing chamber, a mixing shaft for mixing one or more materials in the mixing chamber by means of a mixing apparatus, a motor provided in the main body, a control unit to control the motor, a user interface to receive user commands, and a first transmission member provided in the main body, for transmitting the rotational motion generated by the motor to the mixing shaft.
A pouring apparatus is provided, connected to the main body, enabling sequentially introducing a plurality of materials to said mixing chamber. Said pouring apparatus comprises an interconnecting piece to connect it to the main body; a hollow pouring chamber having a base, a plurality of partitions extending from the center of the pouring chamber towards its walls, segmenting the space in the pouring chamber into a plurality of compartments, connected to the interconnecting piece so as to be rotatably movable within the space in the pouring chamber; an opening provided on a portion of the base of the pouring chamber; and a second transmission member provided in the interconnecting piece, for transmitting the rotational motion generated by the motor to the partitions.
In the mixer appliance of the invention, the control unit integrates the motor to the first transmission member or the second transmission member, respectively, according to data entered to the user interface, and then activates the motor. Thus, the rotational motion generated by the motor is transmitted to the mixing shaft or to the partitions, respectively, and the materials in the pouring chamber are sequentially poured into the mixing chamber through the opening disposed on the base of the pouring chamber, and are mixed in the mixing chamber.
The pouring apparatus of the invention enables sequentially introducing materials to the mixer. User supervision or intervention is thus not required for pouring materials into the mixer, thereby averting the time and labor loss caused by a user having to approach the appliance multiple times and to wait by its side for introducing materials to the appliance.
A mixer appliance realized to achieve the aims of the present invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
Figure 1: is a perspective view of the mixer appliance.

The mixer appliance (1) of the invention comprises a main body (2), a mixing chamber (3), a mixing shaft (4) to an end of which is connected or can be connected a mixing apparatus (for example, at least one blade) for mixing one or more materials in the mixing chamber (3), a motor (5) provided in the main body (2), a control unit (6) to control said motor (5), and a user interface (7) to receive user commands.
Said mixer appliance (1) comprises a pouring apparatus (8) for sequentially introducing a plurality of materials to the mixing chamber (3). Said pouring apparatus comprises (8) an interconnecting piece (9) to connect it to the main body (2), a hollow pouring chamber (10) having a base, a plurality of partitions (12) extending from the center of the pouring chamber (10) towards its walls, segmenting the space in the pouring chamber (10) into a plurality of compartments (11), connected to the interconnecting piece (9) and the pouring chamber (10) so as to be rotatably movable within the space in the pouring chamber (10), and an opening (13) provided on a portion of the base of the pouring chamber (10).
In an embodiment of the invention, the pouring chamber (10) consists of a hollow cylindrical body comprising a cylindrical wall. A plurality of partitions (12) extend from the center towards the wall of the cylindrical body. The angle in between said partitions (12) is preferably equal and the partitions (12) form compartments (11) of equal volumes.
An opening (13) is provided on the base of the pouring chamber (10) in order to introduce the materials in the pouring apparatus (8) to the mixing chamber (3). When the partitions (12) are rotated, aligning said opening (13) with a compartment (11) between two of said plurality of partitions (12), materials in this compartment (11) are enabled to be poured into the mixing chamber (3) through said opening (13).
In another embodiment of the invention, a lower lid (15) is provided to open and close the opening (13) disposed below the pouring chamber (10). Said lower lid (15) can be opened and closed by means of an opening/closing mechanism (16) controllable by the control unit (6).
In an embodiment of the invention, an upper lid (14) is provided above the interconnecting piece (9). Said upper lid (14) is connected to the interconnecting piece (9) by means of a coupling member, for example a hinge, and can be opened and closed on the interconnecting piece (9).
The partitions (12) and the mixing shaft (4) are rotated by the motor (5) provided in the main body (2). To that end, a first transmission member (17) connected to the mixing shaft (4) and a second transmission member (18) connected to the partitions (12) are provided in the main body (2) and the interconnecting piece (9) respectively, for transmitting the rotational motion generated by the motor (5) to the mixing shaft (4) or to the partitions (12).
In an embodiment of the invention, the durations in which the materials in each compartment (11) is to be poured into the mixing chamber (3) is determined via the user interface (7) comprising a keyboard and/or a touch-screen. To that end, individual pouring durations (T1, T2, T3…TN) for pouring the materials in each compartment (11) into the mixing chamber (3) can be entered to the user interface (7) by the user. In another embodiment of the invention, in addition to said pouring durations (T1, T2, T3…TN), the halting time (TD) of the mixer appliance (1) can be determined. Thus, the control unit (6) halts the motor (5) upon reaching the halting time (TD).
In the mixer appliance of the invention (1), the control unit (6) integrates the motor (5) to the first transmission member (17) provided in the main body (2) and connected to the mixing shaft (4), according to data entered to the user interface (7), and then activates the motor (5). The rotational motion generated by the motor (5) is thus transmitted to the mixing shaft (4), mixing the materials in the mixing chamber (3) by means of the mixing apparatus provided at an end of the mixing shaft (4). The motor (5) is halted after rotating said mixing shaft (4) for a given duration, in other terms, after elapsing of the first pouring duration (T1). In the next step, the control unit (6) disengages the motor (5) from the first transmission member (17) connected to the mixing shaft (4), integrates it to the second transmission member (18) provided in the interconnecting piece (9) and connected (preferably via a shaft) to the partitions (12), and activates the motor (5) again. The rotational motion generated by the motor (5) is thus transmitted to the partitions (12), aligning the opening (13) with a first compartment (11) in the pouring chamber (10) by rotating the partition for a predetermined angle by means of said motor (5). Once the related compartment (11) and the opening (13) are aligned, the materials in said compartment (11) are poured into the mixing chamber (3). Then, the control unit (6) disengages the motor (5) from the second transmission member (18) connected to the partitions (12) and integrates it again to the first transmission member (17) connected to the mixing shaft (4), and continues mixing. The materials in the second, third... and the last compartment (11) are sequentially poured into the mixing chamber (3) in the manner mentioned for the first compartment (11), and are mixed in the mixing chamber (3).
In another embodiment of the invention, after the control unit (6) enables the motor (5) to rotate and then aligning one of said compartments (11) with the opening (13), the opening/closing mechanism (16) provided on the base of the pouring chamber (10) is opened by the control unit (6), enabling pouring the materials in said compartment (11) into the mixing chamber (3). Said opening/closing mechanism (16) is closed by the control unit (6) after elapsing of a given duration from its opening, and is kept closed until another compartment (11) is moved towards the opening (13).
