도전성 분말; 유리 프릿; 특정 화학식으로 표시되는 셀룰로오스계 중합체를 포함하는 유기 바인더; 열중합 개시제; 및 용매를 포함하는 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물, 상기 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물로 제조된 태양전지 전극 및 상기 전극을 포함하는 태양 전지를 제공한다.
Description
전극 형성용 조성물, 이로부터 제조된 전극 및 태양 전지에 관한 것이다.
태양 전지는 태양광의 광자(photon)를 전기로 변환시키는 pn 접합의 광전 효과를 이용하여 전기 에너지를 발생시킨다. 태양 전지는 pn 접합이 구성되는 반도체 기판(반도체 웨이퍼) 상하면에 각각 전면 전극과 후면 전극이 형성되어 있다. 태양 전지는 기판에 입사되는 태양광에 의해 pn 접합의 광전 효과가 유도되고, 이로부터 발생된 전자들이 전극을 통해 외부로 흐르는 전류를 제공한다.
이러한 태양 전지의 전극은 전극 형성용 조성물의 도포, 패터닝 및 소성에 의해, 기판 표면에 일정 패턴으로 형성될 수 있다.
태양 전지의 변환효율을 향상시키기 위하여 기판과 접촉성을 향상하여 접촉저항(Rc)과 직렬저항(Rs)을 최소화시키거나 유기물로 스크린 마스크(screen mask)의 패턴 선폭을 작게 조절함으로써 미세 선폭(fine line)을 형성하여 단락전류(Isc)를 높이는 방법이 알려져 있다. 그러나 스크린 마스크를 이용하여 전극 패턴 선폭을 감소시키는 방법은 직렬저항(Rs)의 상승을 유발할 수 있고, 미세 패턴의 연속 인쇄성을 저하시킬 수 있다.
전극 형성용 조성물은 인쇄에 적합한 점도 및 유변학적 특성을 부여하기 위하여 유기 비히클을 사용하는데, 상기 유기 비히클은 통상적으로 유기 바인더와 용매 등을 포함할 수 있다.
분산성과 저장 안정성을 높이기 위한 방안으로 유기 바인더의 함량을 높이거나, 고분자량의 유기 바인더를 사용할 수 있다.
유기 바인더의 함량을 높이는 경우에는 전극 형성 시 저항이 높아질 수 있으며, 고분자량의 유기 바인더를 사용하는 경우에는 고전단 속도(high shear rate)에서도 점도가 높아져 테일링(tailing) 현상 및 인쇄 불량이 발생할 수 있다는 문제점이 있다.
이에 유기 바인더를 개질하거나 신규한 첨가제를 조성물에 포함시켜 인쇄 특성 등을 향상시키려는 시도가 계속되고 있다.
일 구현예는 개질된 유기 바인더 및 열중합 개시제를 포함하여 인쇄 특성이 우수한 저점도 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물을 제공한다.
다른 일 구현예는 상기 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물로 제조된 전극을 제공한다.
또 다른 일 구현예는 상기 전극을 포함하는 태양 전지를 제공한다.
일 구현예에 따르면, 도전성 분말; 유리 프릿; 하기 화학식 1로 표시되는 셀룰로오스계 중합체를 포함하는 유기 바인더; 열중합 개시제; 및 용매를 포함하는 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물을 제공한다.

상기 용매는 메틸셀로솔브(methyl cellosolve), 에틸 셀로솔브(ethyl cellosolve), 부틸 셀로솔브(butyl cellosolve), 지방족 알코올(aliphatic alcohol), α-터피네올(terpineol), β-터피네올, 다이하이드로터피네올(dihydro-terpineol), 에틸렌 글리콜(ethylene glycol), 에틸렌 글리콜모노부틸에테르(ethylene glycol mono butyl ether), 부틸셀로솔브 아세테이트(butyl cellosolve acetate) 및 2,2,4-트리메틸-1,3-펜탄디올 이소부티레이트(2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentanediol isobutyrate; Texanol)로 이루어진 군에서 선택되는 적어도 하나를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 도전성 분말은 은 분말일 수 있다.
상기 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물은 도전성 분말 60 중량% 내지 95 중량%; 유리 프릿 0.5 중량% 내지 20 중량%; 유기 바인더 0.1 중량% 내지 20 중량%; 열중합 개시제 0.1 중량% 내지 10 중량%; 및 용매 1 중량% 내지 30 중량%를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 유리 프릿은 납(Pb), 텔루륨(Te), 비스무스(Bi), 리튬(Li), 인(P), 게르마늄(Ge), 갈륨(Ga), 세륨(Ce), 철(Fe), 규소(Si), 아연(Zn), 텅스텐(W), 마그네슘(Mg), 세슘(Cs), 스트론튬(Sr), 몰리브덴(Mo), 티타늄(Ti), 주석(Sn), 인듐(In), 바나듐(V), 바륨(Ba), 니켈(Ni), 구리(Cu), 나트륨(Na), 칼륨(K), 비소(As), 코발트(Co), 지르코늄(Zr), 망간(Mn) 및 알루미늄(Al)에서 선택되는 1종 이상의 금속 원소를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물은 표면처리제, 분산제, 요변제, 점도 안정화제, 가소제, 소포제, 안료, 자외선 안정제, 산화방지제 및 커플링제에서 선택되는 첨가제를 1종 이상 더 포함할 수 있다.
다른 일 구현예는 상기 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물로 제조된 전극을 제공한다.

상기 태양 전지는 PERC(Passivated emitter and rear cell)구조를 가질 수 있다.
종래 셀룰로오즈 유기 바인더를 탄소-탄소 이중결합이 도입된 셀룰로오즈 유기 바인더로 개질하고, 첨가제로 열중합 개시제를 추가하여, 인쇄 후 선폭번짐 특성이 작아 Short-Circuit Current(Isc) 특성이 우수한 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물을 제공할 수 있다.
도 1은 일 구현예에 따른 태양 전지의 구조를 간략히 도시한 개략도이다.
도 2는 다른 일 구현예에 따른 PERC(Passivated emitter and rear cell) 구조의 태양 전지를 간략히 도시한 개략도이다.
이하에서 첨부한 도면을 참고로 하여 본 발명의 실시예에 대하여 본 발명이 속하는 기술 분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자가 용이하게 실시할 수 있도록 상세히 설명한다. 그러나 본 발명은 여러 가지 상이한 형태로 구현될 수 있으며 여기에서 설명하는 실시예에 한정되지 않는다.

상기 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물은 도전성 분말로서 금속 분말을 사용할 수 있다. 상기 금속 분말은 은(Ag), 금(Au), 팔라듐(Pd), 백금(Pt), 루테늄(Ru), 로듐(Rh), 오스뮴(Os), 이리듐(Ir), 레늄(Re), 티타늄(Ti), 니오븀(Nb), 탄탈륨(Ta), 알루미늄(Al), 구리(Cu), 니켈(Ni), 몰리브덴(Mo), 바나듐(V), 아연(Zn), 마그네슘(Mg), 이트륨(Y), 코발트(Co), 지르코늄(Zr), 철(Fe), 텅스텐(W), 주석(Sn), 크롬(Cr) 및 망간(Mn)에서 선택되는 하나 이상의 금속을 포함할 수 있으나, 이에 한정되지 않는다. 예컨대 상기 금속 분말은 은(Ag) 분말일 수 있다.
상기 도전성 분말은 나노 사이즈 또는 마이크로 사이즈의 입경을 갖는 분말일 수 있는데, 예를 들어 수십 내지 수백 나노미터 크기의 도전성 분말, 수 내지 수십 마이크로미터의 도전성 분말일 수 있으며, 2 이상의 서로 다른 사이즈를 갖는 도전성 분말을 혼합하여 사용할 수도 있다.
상기 도전성 분말은 입자 형상이 구형, 판상, 무정형 형상을 가질 수 있다. 상기 도전성 분말의 평균 입경(D50)은 바람직하게는 0.1㎛ 내지 10㎛이며, 더 바람직하게는 0.5㎛ 내지 5㎛이 될 수 있다. 상기 평균 입경은 이소프로필알코올(IPA)에 도전성 분말을 초음파로 상온(20℃ 내지 25℃)에서 3분 동안 분산시킨 후 CILAS社에서 제작한 1064LD 모델을 사용하여 측정된 것이다. 상기 범위 내에서, 접촉저항과 선 저항이 낮아지는 효과를 가질 수 있다.
상기 도전성 분말은 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물 총량(100 중량%)에 대하여 60 중량% 내지 95 중량%, 바람직하게는 70 중량% 내지 90 중량%로 포함될 수 있다. 상기 범위에서, 저항의 증가로 변환 효율이 낮아지는 것을 막을 수 있고, 유기 비히클 양의 상대적인 감소로 페이스트화가 어려워지는 것을 막을 수 있다.
상기 유리 프릿(glass frit)은 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물의 소성 공정 중 반사 방지막을 에칭(etching)하고, 도전성 분말 입자를 용융시켜 저항이 낮아질 수 있도록 에미터 영역에 도전성 분말의 금속 결정 입자를 생성시키고, 도전성 분말과 웨이퍼 사이의 접착력을 향상시키고 소결 시에 연화하여 소성 온도를 보다 낮추는 효과를 유도한다.
태양 전지의 효율을 증가시키기 위하여 태양 전지의 면적을 증가시키면 태양 전지의 접촉저항이 높아질 수 있으므로 pn 접합(pn junction)에 대한 피해를 최소화함과 동시에 직렬저항을 최소화시켜야 한다. 또한, 다양한 면저항을 가지는 기판의 증가에 따라 소성 온도가 변동폭이 커지므로 넓은 소성 온도에서도 열안정성이 충분히 확보될 수 있는 유리 프릿을 사용하는 것이 바람직하다.
상기 유리 프릿은 통상적으로 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물에 사용되는 유연 유리 프릿 및 무연 유리 프릿 중 어느 하나 이상이 사용될 수 있다.
상기 유리 프릿은 납(Pb), 텔루륨(Te), 비스무스(Bi), 리튬(Li), 인(P), 게르마늄(Ge), 갈륨(Ga), 세륨(Ce), 철(Fe), 규소(Si), 아연(Zn), 텅스텐(W), 마그네슘(Mg), 세슘(Cs), 스트론튬(Sr), 몰리브덴(Mo), 티타늄(Ti), 주석(Sn), 인듐(In), 바나듐(V), 바륨(Ba), 니켈(Ni), 구리(Cu), 나트륨(Na), 칼륨(K), 비소(As), 코발트(Co), 지르코늄(Zr), 망간(Mn) 및 알루미늄(Al)에서 선택되는 1종 이상의 금속 원소를 포함할 수 있다.
유리 프릿은 통상의 방법을 사용하여 상기 기술된 금속 원소의 산화물로부터 유래된 것일 수 있다. 예를 들면, 상기 금속 원소의 산화물을 특정 조성으로 혼합하여 제조한 혼합물을 용융한 후 급냉(quenching)한 다음 다시 분쇄하여 얻을 수 있다. 상기 혼합 공정은 볼 밀(ball mill) 또는 플라네터리 밀(planetary mill)을 사용하여 실시할 수 있다. 상기 용융 공정은 700℃ 내지 1300℃의 조건에서 실시할 수 있으며, 상기 급냉 공정은 상온(20℃ 내지 25℃)에서 실시할 수 있다. 상기 분쇄 공정은 디스크 밀(disk mill), 플라네터리 밀 등에 의해 실시할 수 있으나 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
상기 유리 프릿은 평균입경(D50)이 0.1㎛ 내지 10㎛인 것이 사용될 수 있으며, 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물 총량(100 중량%)에 대하여 0.5 중량% 내지 20 중량% 포함될 수 있다. 상기 범위 내에서 태양전지 전극의 전기적 특성을 저해하지 않는 범위에서 태양전지 전극의 접착 강도(adhesion strength)를 향상시킬 수 있다.
상기 유리 프릿의 형상은 구형이어도 무정형상이어도 무방하다. 일 구현예에서, 전이 온도가 상이한 2종의 유리 프릿을 사용할 수도 있다. 예를 들면, 전이 온도가 200℃ 이상 350℃ 이하인 제1 유리 프릿과 전이 온도가 350℃ 초과 550℃ 이하인 제2 유리 프릿을 혼합하여 사용할 수 있다.

종래 유기 바인더로는 증점 효과가 큰 셀룰로오스계 바인더가 주로 적용되고 있으며, 특히 에틸셀룰로오스가 동종 업계에서 범용적으로 사용되고 있다. 그러나 일반적으로 유기 바인더의 적용은 시판품인 에틸셀룰로오스 바인더 수지(예컨대, Ethocel STD serise, DOW社(사))를 별도의 화학적 구조변형 없이 단순 첨가(점도별/농도별/단독/혼합 등)하여 사용하고 있다. 그리고 종래 셀룰로오스계 바인더는 인쇄 후 높은 종횡비(aspect ratio)를 유지하기 위해 400,000cps 이상의 고점도를 갖도록 설계되었다. 이렇게 설계된 셀룰로오스계 바인더는 인쇄 시 퍼짐특성이 작아 Isc 효율이 우수하다는 장점이 있다. 그러나 이러한 (에틸셀룰로오스 바인더 수지 등의) 종래 셀룰로오스계 바인더는 그 구조상 경화가 불가하여, 인쇄 후 건조 및 소성 공정에성 선폭이 팽창되어 넓어지는 문제가 있었다. 이는 태양광 패널의 광효율 개선을 위해 미세선폭화 인쇄가 요구되는 최근의 흐름에 맞지 않아, 갈수록 큰 문제가 되고 있다.
아울러 인쇄성, 분산성, 저장안정성 등을 개선하기 위하여 추가로 여러 가지 첨가물(증점제, 가소제, 분산제 등)을 사용하고 있으나 이는 소성 후 잔류물 증가 등의 단점이 있으며 태양전지 전극 형성 시 저항이 높아지는 부작용을 초래할 수 있다. 또한 아크릴계 바인더를 이용할 경우 스크린 인쇄 시 tailing 현상 등의 단점이 알려져 있다.
일 구현예에 따른 유기 바인더는 셀룰로오스 아세테이트 프탈레이트(CAP)에 탄소-탄소 이중결합이 도입되도록 하여 열경화가 가능한 구조로 개질시키면서 동시에 점도 또한 낮게 구조를 변형시킨 것으로서, 상기와 같이 구조변형된 유기 바인더로 인해 인쇄 시 선폭번짐 현상을 최소화하면서, Isc 효율 저하 또한 방지할 수 있다.
예컨대, 상기 L1은 *-C(=O)-*이고, 상기 L2는 치환 또는 비치환된 C6 내지 C20 아릴렌기이고, 상기 L3은 *-C(=O)O-* 일 수 있다.
예컨대, 상기 L2는 치환 또는 비치환된 페닐렌기일 수 있다.

상기 화학식 1로 표시되는 구조단위를 포함하는 중합체 함유 유기 바인더(개질된 유기 바인더)은 구체적으로는, 5,000 g/mol 내지 200,000 g/mol의 중량 평균 분자량(Mw)을 가질 수 있다.
상기 유기 바인더의 분자량을 상기 범위 내에서 낮추면 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물 내의 유기 바인더의 함량을 높일 수 있으며, 이를 포함하는 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물의 유동거동과 틱소성(thixotropy)이 좋아져 인쇄성을 향상시킬 수 있다. 따라서 후면 패시베이션 구조를 가지는 PERC(Passivated emitter and rear cell) 구조의 태양 전지에서 전극을 형성하는 데 적합하게 사용될 수 있다.
상기 PERC(Passivated emitter and rear cell) 구조의 태양 전지에 대해서는 후술한다.
상기 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물은 상기 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물 총량에 대해, 상기 도전성 분말 60 중량% 내지 95 중량%; 상기 유리 프릿 0.5 중량% 내지 20 중량%; 유기 바인더 0.1 중량% 내지 20 중량%; 열중합 개시제 0.1 중량% 내지 10 중량%; 및 용매 1 중량% 내지 30 중량%를 포함할 수 있다. 상기 범위에서 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물의 적절한 점도를 얻을 수 있어 기판과의 접착력 저하를 방지할 수 있으며, 소성 시 유기 바인더의 분해가 원활히 이뤄지지 않아 저항이 높아지고 소성공정 시 전극의 갈라짐, 오픈, 핀홀 발생 등의 문제점을 방지할 수 있다.
상기 용매로는 100℃ 이상의 비점을 갖는 것으로, 메틸셀로솔브(methyl cellosolve), 에틸 셀로솔브(ethyl cellosolve), 부틸 셀로솔브(butyl cellosolve), 지방족 알코올(aliphatic alcohol), α-터피네올(terpineol), β-터피네올, 다이하이드로터피네올(dihydro-terpineol), 에틸렌 글리콜(ethylene glycol), 에틸렌 글리콜모노부틸에테르(ethylene glycol mono butyl ether), 부틸셀로솔브 아세테이트(butyl cellosolve acetate), 2,2,4-트리메틸-1,3-펜탄디올 이소부티레이트(2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentanediol isobutyrate; Texanol) 등을 단독 또는 2종 이상 혼합하여 사용할 수 있다.
상기 열중합 개시제는 100℃ 내지 200℃의 온도에서 열중합 반응을 개시하는 화합물일 수 있다. 예컨대, 상기 열중합 개시제로는 중합반응에 사용되는 퍼옥사이드계 화합물을 사용하는 것이 바람직할 수 있다.
상기 퍼옥사이드계 화합물의 구체적인 예로는 디라우로일 퍼옥사이드, 디벤조일 퍼옥사이드, tert-부틸 퍼옥시네오데카노에이트, tert-아밀 퍼옥시피발레이트, 디(2-에틸헥실) 퍼옥시디카보네이트, 디(3-메톡시 부틸퍼옥시디카보네이트, 3-히드록시-1,1-디메틸부틸퍼옥시네오데카노에이트, 디(3,5,5-트리메틸헥사노일)퍼옥사이드, tert-아밀 퍼옥시-2-에틸헥사노에이트, tert-부틸 퍼옥시-2-에틸헥사노에이트, tert-부틸 이소프로필 모노퍼옥시카보네이트, tert-부틸퍼옥시-2-에틸헥실카보네이트, 디벤조일퍼옥사이드, tert-아밀 (2-에틸헥실) 모노퍼옥시 카보네이트, tert-부틸퍼옥사이드, 테트라부틸퍼옥사이드, tert-부틸퍼옥시 이소프로필 카보네이트, tert-부틸 퍼옥시 벤조에이트, 1,1,3,3-테트라메틸부틸 퍼옥시네오데카노에이트, 디쿠밀퍼옥사이드, 디데카노일 퍼옥사이드 또는 이들의 조합을 포함할 수 있으나, 반드시 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
상기 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물은 상기에서 기술한 구성 요소 외에 유동 특성, 공정 특성 및 안정성을 향상시키기 위하여 필요에 따라 통상의 첨가제를 더 포함할 수 있다. 상기 첨가제는 표면처리제, 분산제, 요변제, 점도 안정화제, 가소제, 소포제, 안료, 자외선 안정제, 산화방지제, 커플링제 등을 단독 또는 2종 이상 혼합하여 사용할 수 있다.
이들은 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물 총량 100(중량%)에 대하여 0.1 중량% 내지 5 중량%로 포함될 수 있지만 필요에 따라 함량을 변경할 수 있다. 상기 첨가제의 함량은 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물의 인쇄 특성, 분산성 및 저장 안정성을 고려하여 선택될 수 있다.
다른 일 구현예에 따르면 상기 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물로부터 형성된 전극을 제공한다.
또 다른 일 구현예에 따르면 상기 전극을 포함하는 태양 전지를 제공한다.
도 1을 참조하여 일 구현예에 따른 태양 전지를 설명한다. 도 1은 일 구현예에 따른 태양 전지의 구조를 간략히 도시한 개략도이다.
도 1을 참조하면, 일 구현예에 따른 태양 전지(100)는 p층(또는 n층)(111) 및 에미터로서의 n층(또는 p 층)(113)을 포함하는 기판(110) 상에, 전극 형성용 조성물을 인쇄하고 소성하여 전면 전극(120)과 후면 전극(130)을 형성할 수 있다.
예컨대, 전극 형성용 조성물을 기판의 후면에 인쇄 도포한 후, 대략 200℃ 내지 400℃의 온도로 대략 10초 내지 60초 정도 건조하여 후면 전극을 위한 사전 준비 단계를 수행할 수 있다. 또한, 기판의 전면에 전극 형성용 조성물을 인쇄한 후 건조하여 전면 전극을 위한 사전 준비단계를 수행할 수 있다. 이후에, 400℃ 내지 1,000℃, 바람직하게는 600℃ 내지 950℃에서 약 30초 내지 240초 소성하는 과정을 수행하여 전면 전극(120) 및 후면 전극(130)을 형성할 수 있다.
도 2는 다른 일 구현예에 따른 PERC(Passivated emitter and rear cell) 구조의 태양 전지를 간략히 도시한 개략도이다.
도 2를 참조하면 일 구현예에 따른 태양 전지(200)는 p층(또는 n층)(211) 및 에미터로서의 n층(또는 p 층)(213)을 포함하는 기판(210) 상에, 후면 패시베이션 층(230)을 형성하고 후면 패시베이션 층(230)을 관통하는 홀(232)을 형성한 다음 전극 형성용 조성물을 인쇄하고 소성하여 전면 전극(220)과 후면 전극(240)을 형성할 수 있다. 상기 후면 패시베이션 층(230)은 기판(210)과 후면 전극(240) 사이의 전기 접촉을 제공할 수 있는 유전체 물질로 이루어진다. 이러한 유전체 물질로는 산화알루미늄, 산화 규소, 질화 규소 또는 이들의 혼합물이 사용될 수 있다. 상기 후면 패시베이션 층(230)은 기판(210)을 통과하여 들어오는 광을 반사시켜 후면 전극(240)에 흡수되는 광을 줄일 수 있으며 이로써 생성되는 전류량을 증가시킬 수 있다.
예컨대, 전극 형성용 조성물을 기판의 후면 패시베이션 층(230) 위에 인쇄 도포한 후, 대략 200℃ 내지 400℃의 온도로 대략 10초 내지 60초 정도 건조하여 후면 전극을 위한 사전 준비 단계를 수행할 수 있다. 또한, 기판의 전면에 전극 형성용 조성물을 인쇄한 후 건조하여 전면 전극을 위한 사전 준비단계를 수행할 수 있다. 이후에, 400℃ 내지 900℃, 바람직하게는 600℃ 내지 900℃에서 약 30초 내지 240초 소성하는 과정을 수행하여 전면 전극(220) 및 후면 전극(240)을 형성할 수 있다.
이하, 실시예를 통하여 본 발명을 보다 구체적으로 설명하고자 하나, 이러한 실시예들은 단지 설명의 목적을 위한 것으로, 본 발명을 제한하는 것으로 해석되어서는 안된다.
유기 바인더의 합성
<합성예>
셀룰로오즈 아세테이트 프로피오네이트(cellulose acetate propionate)(CAP-482-0.5, Eastman)를 부틸 카비톨 아세테이트(butyl carbitol acetate)에 고형분 10wt%가 되도록 용해한 후, 상기 셀룰로오즈 아세테이트 프로피오네이트 용액에 2-이소시아네이트 에틸 메타크릴레이트(isocyanate ethyl methacrylate)(MOI, Showa denco)를 1%wt 투입하였다. 이 후, 40℃에서 DBTDL(Dibutyltin dilaurate) 촉매 100ppm이 존재하는 조건 하에서 반응시켜, FT-IR로 이소시아네이트기가 소멸된 것(2270cm-1)을 확인하고, 12시간 더 반응시켜 셀룰로오즈 아세테이트 프로피오네이트를 개질한 유기 바인더(점도: 3500 cps, 10rpm)을 얻었다.
전극형성용 조성물의 제조
<실시예 1>
상기 합성예에서 제조한 유기 바인더 0.5 중량%와 용매로 텍사놀(Texanol, Eastman chemical社) 7.5 중량%을 60℃에서 충분히 용해한 후 평균 입경이 2.0㎛인 구형의 은 분말(AG-5-11F, Dowa Hightech社) 88.5 중량%, 평균 입경이 1.0㎛인 Bi-Te계 무연 유리 프릿 분말(ABT-1, Asahi Glass社) 3 중량%, 열중합 개시제(TBPB, N.O.F社(Japan)) 0.2 중량%, 분산제(BYK-102, BYK-chemie) 0.1 중량% 및 요변제(Elementis Co., Thixatrol ST) 0.2 중량%를 투입하여 믹싱 후 3롤 밀링기로 혼합 분산시켜 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물을 제조하였다.
<비교예 1>
합성예에서 제조한 유기 바인더 대신 에틸셀룰로오스(Ethyl cellulose, Mw = 40,000 g/mol, Dow chemical社)를 사용한 것을 제외하고는 실시예 1과 동일한 방법으로 하여 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물을 제조하였다.
<비교예 2>
합성예에서 제조한 유기 바인더 대신 셀룰로오스 아세테이트 프로피오네이트 (CAP-482-0.5), Mw = 90,000 g/mol, Eastman)를 사용한 것을 제외하고는 실시예 1과 동일한 방법으로 하여 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물을 제조하였다.
<비교예 3>
열중합 개시제를 사용하지 않고, 분산제(BYK-102, BYK-chemie) 0.2 중량% 및 요변제(Thixatrol ST, Elementis Co.) 0.3 중량%를 사용한 것을 제외하고는 실시예 1과 동일한 방법으로 하여 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물을 제조하였다.
Cell의 제조
PERC 용 p-타입 다결정 실리콘 웨이퍼(REC社, singapole)의 전면에 상기 실시예 1 및 비교예 1 내지 비교예 3에 따른 전극 형성용 조성물을 실리콘 웨이퍼(Wafer) 전면에 스크린 마스크를 이용하여 각각 스크린 프린팅하여 전극 패턴(finger bar)을 인쇄하고, 적외선 건조로를 사용하여 건조시켰다. 이 후 후면에 알루미늄을 포함하는 전극 형성용 조성물(RX-8252X-2, Ruxing社)을 후면 인쇄한 후 벨트형 소성로를통해 200 내지 400의 온도 범위에서 30초 동안 건조하였다, 이후 다시금 벨트형 소성로를 사용하여 400℃ 내지 800℃ 온도 범위에서 40초간 소성을 행하여 태양전지용 셀을 제조하였다.
평가
상기 실시예 1 및 비교예 1 내지 비교예 3으로부터 형성된 전면 전극의 단선 여부를 확인하기 위하여 EL tester(MV tech 社)를 이용하여 Line opening 개수를 측정하였고, 전극 라인의 선폭 및 두께는 VK 장비(VK9710, KEYENCE社)를 이용하여 측정하였으며, 효율(Efficiency)은 태양전지효율 측정장비(CT-801, Pasan社)를 사용하여 측정하였으며, 그 결과를 하기 표 1 및 표 2에 나타내었다.

표 1을 참조하면, 상기 화학식 1로 표시되는 구조단위를 포함하는 셀룰로오스계 중합체 함유 유기 바인더 및 열중합 개시제를 모두 포함하는 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물(실시예 1)로 제조된 전극이, 종래 유기 바인더 또는 열중합 개시제를 포함하지 않는 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물(비교예 1 내지 비교예 3)로 제조된 전극에 비하여 미세 선폭 구현이 가능하고 종횡비가 높으며, 인쇄성도 우수하고 전극 형성 후 단선의 발생율도 훨씬 낮은 것을 확인할 수 있다. 또한 테스트 셀의 효율도 실시예 1에 따른 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물로 제조된 전극을 포함하는 셀이 비교예 1 내지 비교예 3에 따른 태양전지 전극 형성용 조성물로 제조된 전극을 포함하는 셀에 비하여 효율이 월등히 향상되었음을 알 수 있다.
본 발명의 단순한 변형 내지 변경은 이 분야의 통상의 지식을 가진 자에 의하여 용이하게 실시될 수 있으며, 이러한 변형이나 변경은 모두 본 발명의 영역에 포함되는 것으로 볼 수 있다.
