Abstract
炭酸カルシウムの析出を促進させるための二酸化炭素又は硫酸イオンを生成する微生物が存在する海底地盤に設けられた生産井から、炭化水素を含有する生産流体を回収する炭化水素回収方法であって、微生物が二酸化炭素又は硫酸イオンの生成に用いる組成物を前記生産井に圧入する圧入工程と、組成物を圧入した後に前記生産井内を減圧する減圧工程と、生産井内を減圧した状態で炭化水素を回収する回収工程と、を有する。
Description
本発明は、炭化水素回収方法及び炭化水素回収システムに関する。
従来、地下に埋蔵された炭化水素を含む組成物を回収する技術が知られている。特許文献1には、海底からメタンハイドレートを回収する技術が開示されている。
海底地盤から炭化水素を含む組成物を回収すると、回収した組成物が存在していた領域に空洞が生じることで海底地盤が崩れてしまい、炭化水素の生産井に土砂が流れ込んでしまうという出砂問題が生じていた。生産井に土砂が流れ込んでしまうと、生産井が閉塞されてしまい、炭化水素を回収できなくなってしまう。そこで、土砂が生産井に流入することを防ぐ方策が求められていた。
そこで、本発明はこれらの点に鑑みてなされたものであり、炭化水素を回収する際に土砂が生産井に流入することを抑制するための炭化水素回収方法及び炭化水素回収システムを提供することを目的とする。
本発明の第1の態様の炭化水素回収方法は、炭酸カルシウムの析出を促進させるための二酸化炭素又は硫酸イオンを生成する微生物が存在する海底地盤に設けられた生産井から、炭化水素を含有する生産流体を回収する炭化水素回収方法である。この炭化水素回収方法は、前記微生物が二酸化炭素又は硫酸イオンの生成に用いる組成物を前記生産井に圧入する圧入工程と、前記組成物を圧入した後に前記生産井内を減圧する減圧工程と、前記生産井内を減圧した状態で炭化水素を回収する回収工程と、を有する。
前記炭化水素回収方法は、前記圧入工程において、例えば、前記生産井に設けられた開口を介して、前記海底地盤に前記組成物を圧入する。前記圧入工程において、前記組成物として尿素を圧入してもよい。
前記圧入工程を実行してから、前記海底地盤に存在するカルシウム塩とウレアーゼ活性を有する前記微生物が前記尿素を加水分解して生成される二酸化炭素とが反応することにより炭酸カルシウムが析出するために要する時間が経過した後に、前記減圧工程を実行してもよい。
前記圧入工程において、前記組成物としてチオ硫酸塩を圧入してもよい。この場合、前記圧入工程を実行してから、前記海底地盤に存在するメタンと前記チオ硫酸塩に基づいて前記微生物が生成した硫酸イオンとが反応して生成された炭酸イオンと、前記海底地盤に存在するカルシウム塩とが反応することにより炭酸カルシウムが生成されるために要する時間が経過した後に、前記減圧工程を実行してもよい。
前記圧入工程において、前記微生物の栄養となる栄養塩をさらに圧入してもよい。また、前記圧入工程において、カルシウム塩をさらに圧入してもよい。
前記炭化水素回収方法は、前記組成物に基づいて二酸化炭素又は硫酸イオンを生成する微生物を前記生産井に圧入する微生物圧入工程をさらに有してもよい。前記微生物圧入工程を実行する前に、前記生産井から回収される水が存在する嫌気環境下で、前記生産井に圧入する微生物を培養する工程をさらに有してもよい。
前記減圧工程を実行した後に、前記圧入工程を再び実行してもよい。例えば、前記回収工程において単位時間内に回収される前記炭化水素の量が閾値未満である場合に、前記圧入工程を再び実行してもよい。
前記減圧工程は、前記海底地盤内の微生物を前記生産井の側に移動させるための第1減圧工程と、前記第1減圧工程の後に実行され、前記海底地盤内のメタンハイドレートを回収するための第2減圧工程と、を有してもよい。前記圧入工程において、前記生産井の内部をアルカリ性にした状態で前記組成物を圧入してもよい。
本発明の第2の態様の炭化水素回収システムは、炭酸カルシウムの析出を促進させるための二酸化炭素又は硫酸イオンを生成する微生物が存在する海底地盤に設けられた生産井から、炭化水素を含有する生産流体を回収する。この炭化水素回収システムは、前記微生物が二酸化炭素又は硫酸イオンの生成に用いる組成物を前記生産井に圧入する圧入部と、前記組成物を圧入した後に前記生産井内を減圧する減圧部と、前記生産井内を減圧した状態で炭化水素を回収する回収部と、を有する。
本発明によれば、炭化水素を回収する際に土砂が生産井に流入することを抑制できるという効果を奏する。
[炭化水素回収方法の概要]

詳細については後述するが、炭化水素回収システム1は、海底地盤に含まれている炭化水素として、例えばメタンハイドレートを回収するための装置である。炭化水素回収システム1は、例えば、メタンハイドレートを回収する船に搭載されている。
炭化水素回収システム1は、圧入装置11、回収装置12、圧力調整装置13及び制御装置14を備える。制御装置14は、圧入装置11、回収装置12及び圧力調整装置13を制御するコンピュータである。制御装置14は、記憶媒体に記憶されたプログラムを実行することにより、又は作業員の操作に基づいて、炭化水素を回収するための処理を実行する。
生産井2は、海底地盤内のメタンハイドレート層に埋蔵されたメタンハイドレートを回収するための井戸である。生産井2は、海底地盤に含まれる土砂が生産井2に流れ込むことを防ぐために用いられる組成物を圧入するための圧入管21、メタンハイドレートを回収するための回収管22、及び開口部23を有する。
本実施形態の炭化水素回収方法においては、海底地盤に含まれる土砂が生産井2に流れ込むことを防ぐために用いられる組成物として、炭酸カルシウムの析出を促進させるための二酸化炭素又は硫酸イオンを生成する微生物が二酸化炭素又は硫酸イオンの生成に用いる組成物を用いる点に特徴がある。このようにすることで、図1及び図2に示すメタンハイドレート層における開口部23の近傍の領域aの土砂を固化させることができるので、メタンハイドレートを回収中に土砂が生産井2に流入することを抑制することが可能になる。
<第1実施形態>
[炭化水素回収システム1の構成]
図3は、第1実施形態に係る圧入装置11の構成を示す図である。以下、図1から図3を参照しながら、炭化水素回収システム1が炭化水素を回収する方法について説明する。

圧入装置11は、図1に示すように、メタンハイドレートを回収する前に、生産井2に土砂が流れ込むことを防ぐために必要な組成物を、圧入管21を介して生産井2の中に圧入するための装置である。生産井2に土砂が流れ込むことを防ぐために必要な組成物は、炭酸カルシウムの析出を促進させるための二酸化炭素を生成する微生物による二酸化炭素の生成に用いられる組成物である。
第1実施形態において使用される微生物は、尿素を加水分解するウレアーゼ活性を有する微生物である。この場合、圧入管21を介して圧入される組成物は尿素である。圧入装置11は、尿素とともに、炭酸カルシウムの生成に必要なカルシウム塩を含む組成物をさらに圧入してもよい。カルシウム塩を含む組成物は、例えば塩化カルシウム、酢酸カルシウム、又は硝酸カルシウムである。また、圧入装置11は、微生物が吸収することにより微生物の栄養となり、微生物を活性化させる栄養塩をさらに圧入してもよい。このように圧入装置11が栄養塩を圧入することで、微生物の栄養が乏しい海底地盤においても微生物が尿素を加水分解することが可能になる。
図3に示すように、圧入装置11は、尿素タンク111と、カルシウム塩タンク112と、栄養塩タンク113と、バルブ114と、バルブ115と、バルブ116と、ポンプ117とを有する。尿素タンク111は、生産井2に圧入する尿素を貯蔵するためのタンクである。カルシウム塩タンク112は、生産井2に圧入するカルシウム塩を貯蔵するためのタンクである。栄養塩タンク113は、生産井2に圧入する栄養塩を貯蔵するためのタンクである。
バルブ114は、制御装置14の制御に基づいて、尿素タンク111に貯蔵された尿素を生産井2に圧入する量を調整するためのバルブである。バルブ115は、制御装置14の制御に基づいて、カルシウム塩タンク112に貯蔵されたカルシウム塩を生産井2に圧入する量を調整するためのバルブである。バルブ116は、制御装置14の制御に基づいて、栄養塩タンク113に貯蔵された栄養塩を生産井2に圧入する量を調整するためのバルブである。ポンプ117は、尿素、カルシウム塩及び栄養塩を生産井2に圧入するためのポンプである。
回収装置12は、生産井2からメタンハイドレートを回収するための装置であり、メタンハイドレートを吸引するためのポンプ(不図示)を有している。回収装置12は、制御装置14の制御に基づいて、圧入装置11が尿素を圧入してから所定の時間が経過した後に、メタンハイドレートの回収を開始する。所定の時間は、例えば、海底地盤に存在するカルシウム塩とウレアーゼ活性を有する微生物が尿素を加水分解して生成される二酸化炭素とが反応することにより炭酸カルシウムが析出するために要する時間である。
このようにすることで、回収装置12は、メタンハイドレート層における生産井2の近傍の領域aの土砂が固化した状態でメタンハイドレートを回収できる。その結果、メタンハイドレートを回収している間に生産井2の近傍の領域aの土砂が生産井2に流れ込まないので、回収装置12は、メタンハイドレートの回収効率を向上させることができる。
圧力調整装置13は、制御装置14の制御に基づいて、生産井2の内部の圧力を調整するための装置である。圧力調整装置13は、例えば海底地盤に存在する微生物を生産井2の側に移動させるために生産井2の内部を減圧したり、メタンハイドレートを回収するために生産井2の内部を減圧したりする。
開口部23は、生産井2の壁面における圧入管21の先端付近の位置に設けられたメッシュ状の領域である。圧入管21を介して圧入された尿素は、開口部23から海底地盤へと圧入され、海底地盤内の微生物に吸収される。開口部23は、生産井2の周辺の海底地盤において透水性が高い部位に設けられていることが好ましい。このようにすることで、土砂が生産井2に流入する確率が高い地盤に優先的に尿素を圧入することができるので、土砂が生産井2に流入する確率が高い地盤を効率良く固化させることができる。
[炭酸カルシウムが析出する原理]
以下、生産井2に尿素を圧入することにより炭酸カルシウムが析出する原理について説明する。

ウレアーゼ活性を有する微生物は、以下の式(1)で表される反応により尿素を加水分解して二酸化炭素を生成する。

二酸化炭素が生成されると、以下の式(2)で表される反応により炭酸イオンが生成される。

炭酸イオンが生成されると、海底地盤に含まれていたカルシウム塩又は圧入装置11により圧入されたカルシウム塩と炭酸イオンとが式(3)で表されるように反応して、炭酸カルシウムが析出する。海底地盤に炭酸カルシウムが析出することにより領域aの土砂が固化するので、海底地盤内の土砂が生産井2に流れ込むことを防止できる。

[海底地盤の固化を促進するための方法]
炭化水素回収方法においては、海底地盤の固化を促進するために、以下の工程を実行してもよい。

(1)栄養塩の圧入
炭化水素回収方法は、微生物による尿素の加水分解を活性化させるために、微生物の栄養となる栄養塩を圧入する工程をさらに有してもよい。栄養塩は、例えば酵母エキスである。尿素を加水分解する能力が高い微生物に適した栄養塩を圧入することで、尿素を加水分解する能力が高い微生物を優先的に活性化させる優先化を実現することができる。尿素を加水分解する能力が高い微生物を優先化することで、微生物が生成する二酸化炭素の量が増えるので、炭酸カルシウムの析出量が増加する。
炭化水素回収方法は、微生物による尿素の加水分解を活性化させるために、微生物の栄養となる栄養塩を圧入する工程をさらに有してもよい。栄養塩は、例えば酵母エキスである。尿素を加水分解する能力が高い微生物に適した栄養塩を圧入することで、尿素を加水分解する能力が高い微生物を優先的に活性化させる優先化を実現することができる。尿素を加水分解する能力が高い微生物を優先化することで、微生物が生成する二酸化炭素の量が増えるので、炭酸カルシウムの析出量が増加する。
なお、炭化水素回収方法は、圧入する栄養塩の量に対応する量のカルシウム塩を圧入する工程をさらに有してもよい。例えば、圧入する栄養塩の量に対応するカルシウム塩の量は、栄養塩により活性化する微生物が生成する二酸化炭素の増加量に対応する量である。このようにすることで、栄養塩の圧入によって増加した二酸化炭素を最大限に活用して炭酸カルシウムを析出させることが可能になる。
(2)微生物の圧入
炭化水素回収方法は、炭酸カルシウムの析出に用いられる二酸化炭素の量を増やすために、ウレアーゼ活性を有する微生物を圧入する微生物圧入工程をさらに有してもよい。海底地盤内で尿素を加水分解できる微生物を圧入するために、炭化水素回収方法は、微生物圧入工程の前に実行される、生産井2から回収される水が存在する嫌気環境下で、生産井2に圧入する微生物を培養する工程をさらに有してもよい。微生物を培養する工程においては、海底地盤における活性度が高い微生物と同じ遺伝子情報を有する微生物を優先的に培養する。このようにして培養した微生物を生産井2に圧入することで、優先化された微生物による二酸化炭素の生成量が増加し、炭酸カルシウムの析出量が増加する。
炭化水素回収方法は、炭酸カルシウムの析出に用いられる二酸化炭素の量を増やすために、ウレアーゼ活性を有する微生物を圧入する微生物圧入工程をさらに有してもよい。海底地盤内で尿素を加水分解できる微生物を圧入するために、炭化水素回収方法は、微生物圧入工程の前に実行される、生産井2から回収される水が存在する嫌気環境下で、生産井2に圧入する微生物を培養する工程をさらに有してもよい。微生物を培養する工程においては、海底地盤における活性度が高い微生物と同じ遺伝子情報を有する微生物を優先的に培養する。このようにして培養した微生物を生産井2に圧入することで、優先化された微生物による二酸化炭素の生成量が増加し、炭酸カルシウムの析出量が増加する。
なお、炭化水素回収方法は、圧入する微生物の量に対応する量のカルシウム塩を圧入する工程をさらに有してもよい。例えば、圧入する微生物の量に対応するカルシウム塩の量は、生産井2の近傍の領域a内において増加した微生物により生成される二酸化炭素の増加量に対応する量である。このようにすることで、微生物の圧入によって増加した二酸化炭素を最大限に活用して炭酸カルシウムを析出させることが可能になる。
[炭化水素回収方法の処理の流れ]
図4は、炭化水素回収方法の処理の流れを示すフローチャートである。まず、制御装置14は、圧力調整装置13を制御することにより、海底地盤内の微生物を生産井2の側に移動させるために生産井2の内部圧力を第1圧力P1に調整する工程を実行する(S11)。例えば、制御装置14は、生産井2内の圧力を海底地盤内の圧力より低い第1圧力P1に調整する。このように、生産井2の内部圧力を海底地盤内の圧力より低い第1圧力P1にまで減圧することで、海底地盤内に存在する微生物が生産井2の近傍の領域aに移動しやすくなるので、生産井2の近傍の領域aに存在する微生物の量が増える。そして、生産井2の近傍の領域aに存在する微生物の量が増えれば増えるほど、領域aにおける炭酸カルシウムの析出量が増加する。したがって、炭化水素回収システム1は、生産井2の内部圧力を海底地盤内の圧力より低い第1圧力P1にまで減圧することで、土砂が生産井2に流れ込むことをより効果的に防止することができる。
図4は、炭化水素回収方法の処理の流れを示すフローチャートである。まず、制御装置14は、圧力調整装置13を制御することにより、海底地盤内の微生物を生産井2の側に移動させるために生産井2の内部圧力を第1圧力P1に調整する工程を実行する(S11)。例えば、制御装置14は、生産井2内の圧力を海底地盤内の圧力より低い第1圧力P1に調整する。このように、生産井2の内部圧力を海底地盤内の圧力より低い第1圧力P1にまで減圧することで、海底地盤内に存在する微生物が生産井2の近傍の領域aに移動しやすくなるので、生産井2の近傍の領域aに存在する微生物の量が増える。そして、生産井2の近傍の領域aに存在する微生物の量が増えれば増えるほど、領域aにおける炭酸カルシウムの析出量が増加する。したがって、炭化水素回収システム1は、生産井2の内部圧力を海底地盤内の圧力より低い第1圧力P1にまで減圧することで、土砂が生産井2に流れ込むことをより効果的に防止することができる。
続いて、制御装置14は、圧入装置11を制御することにより、微生物を活性化させる栄養塩を生産井2に圧入する(S12)。その後、制御装置14は、微生物が栄養塩を吸収して活性化するまでに要する第1時間が経過するまで待機する(S13)。
制御装置14は、第1時間が経過すると(S13においてYES)、圧入装置11を制御することにより、尿素及びカルシウム塩を生産井2に圧入する(S14)。圧入装置11が尿素及びカルシウム塩を圧入することにより、微生物が尿素の加水分解を行って二酸化炭素が生成され、圧入されたカルシウム塩と二酸化炭素に基づく炭酸イオンとが反応することにより炭酸カルシウムが析出する。制御装置14は、圧入装置11が圧入した尿素の量に対応する炭酸カルシウムが析出するために必要な第2時間が経過するまで待機する(S15)。
制御装置14は、第2時間が経過すると(S15においてYES)、圧力調整装置13を制御して、生産井2の内部圧力を第2圧力P2に調整する(S16)。第2圧力P2は、例えば第1圧力P1よりも低い圧力である。第2圧力P2が十分に低いことで、海底地盤内の高圧環境下に存在するメタンハイドレートが生産井2の側に移動する。制御装置14は、生産井2の側に移動したメタンハイドレートを回収装置12に回収させる(S17)。
制御装置14は、生産井2の内部圧力を第2圧力P2にまで減圧してメタンハイドレートの回収を開始した後に、メタンハイドレートの回収を終了するか否かを判定する(S18)。作業員がメタンハイドレートの回収を終了する操作を行った場合(S18においてYES)、制御装置14は、メタンハイドレートの回収を終了する。
制御装置14は、メタンハイドレートの回収を終了する操作が行われていないと判定すると(S18においてNO)、単位時間内に回収されるメタンハイドレートの量が閾値以上であるか否かを判定する(S19)。制御装置14は、単位時間内に回収されるメタンハイドレートの量が閾値以上である場合は(S19においてYES)、ステップS17に戻って、メタンハイドレートの回収を継続する。
一方、制御装置14は、単位時間内に回収されるメタンハイドレートの量が閾値未満になった場合(S19においてNO)、ステップS11に処理を戻してS11からS17までの処理を繰り返す。すなわち、制御装置14は、栄養塩、尿素及びカルシウム塩を生産井2に圧入してからメタンハイドレートをさらに回収する。このようにすることで、海底地盤からメタンハイドレートが回収されて海底地盤に空洞が生じた時点で、海底地盤の固化を促進することができる。その結果、炭化水素回収システム1は、メタンハイドレートの回収が進んだ後にも、土砂が生産井2に流入してしまうことを予防できる。
なお、ステップS19において、単位時間内に回収されるメタンハイドレートの量が閾値未満になった場合に、制御装置14は、ステップS11ではなく、ステップS14に戻り、尿素を圧入してもよい。
また、以上の炭化水素回収方法において、生産井2の内部をアルカリ性にした状態で尿素を圧入することが好ましい。このようにすることで、微生物が溶解して粘性を生じるので、微生物が存在する領域の周辺の粘度が向上し、出砂問題対策に好適である。
[検証実験1]
図5は、栄養塩として酵母エキスを使用することによる効果を確認するための第1の実験結果を示す図である。図5の横軸は、ウレアーゼ活性を有する微生物を培養した期間を示しており、縦軸は、微生物によって生成されたアンモニウムイオン濃度を示している。図5の破線は、微生物に尿素のみを与えた場合にアンモニウムイオン濃度が変化する様子を示しており、図5の実線は、微生物に尿素とともに酵母エキスを与えた場合のアンモニウムイオン濃度が変化する様子を示している。尿素とともに酵母エキスを与えた場合には、21日目から28日目の間にアンモニウムイオン濃度が急増している。微生物が酵母エキスを吸収したことにより活性化され、アンモニウムイオンが生成されるまでの期間が短くなったと考えられる。
図5は、栄養塩として酵母エキスを使用することによる効果を確認するための第1の実験結果を示す図である。図5の横軸は、ウレアーゼ活性を有する微生物を培養した期間を示しており、縦軸は、微生物によって生成されたアンモニウムイオン濃度を示している。図5の破線は、微生物に尿素のみを与えた場合にアンモニウムイオン濃度が変化する様子を示しており、図5の実線は、微生物に尿素とともに酵母エキスを与えた場合のアンモニウムイオン濃度が変化する様子を示している。尿素とともに酵母エキスを与えた場合には、21日目から28日目の間にアンモニウムイオン濃度が急増している。微生物が酵母エキスを吸収したことにより活性化され、アンモニウムイオンが生成されるまでの期間が短くなったと考えられる。
図6は、栄養塩として酵母エキスを使用することによる効果を確認するための第2の実験結果を示す図である。図6は、微生物を入れた培養液1Lあたりのウレアーゼ活性の度合いを示している。尿素とともに酵母エキスを与えることにより、ウレアーゼ活性度が大幅に上昇していることが確認できた。
図7は、栄養塩として酵母エキスを使用することによる効果を確認するための第3の実験結果を示す図である。図7の横軸は、微生物の培養時間を示しており、縦軸は、微生物の培養液内のカルシウムイオンの濃度を示している。図7の一点鎖線は、培養液として純水を用いた場合を示している。図7の破線は、培養液に尿素のみを加えた場合を示している。図7の実線は、培養液に尿素及び酵母エキスを加えた場合を示している。
培養液に尿素及び酵母エキスを加えた場合に、24時間以内に急速にカルシウムイオン濃度が低下していることがわかる。カルシウムイオン濃度が低下したことから、炭酸カルシウムが析出したことが推定される。このように、尿素及び酵母エキスを微生物に与えることで、炭酸カルシウムの析出量が増えるということを確認できた。
[第1実施形態に係る炭化水素回収方法による効果]
以上説明したように、第1実施形態に係る炭化水素回収方法においては、炭酸カルシウムの析出を促進させるための二酸化炭素を生成する微生物が二酸化炭素の生成に用いる組成物として、尿素を生産井2に圧入する。そして、尿素を圧入した後に、生産井2の内部の圧力を下げた状態でメタンハイドレートを回収する。このように、尿素を生産井2に圧入することにより、ウレアーゼ活性を有する微生物が生成する二酸化炭素に基づいて、炭酸カルシウムが析出する。その結果、生産井2の付近の地盤が固化することで、土砂が生産井2に流入することを抑制できる。
以上説明したように、第1実施形態に係る炭化水素回収方法においては、炭酸カルシウムの析出を促進させるための二酸化炭素を生成する微生物が二酸化炭素の生成に用いる組成物として、尿素を生産井2に圧入する。そして、尿素を圧入した後に、生産井2の内部の圧力を下げた状態でメタンハイドレートを回収する。このように、尿素を生産井2に圧入することにより、ウレアーゼ活性を有する微生物が生成する二酸化炭素に基づいて、炭酸カルシウムが析出する。その結果、生産井2の付近の地盤が固化することで、土砂が生産井2に流入することを抑制できる。
<第2実施形態>
[第2実施形態の炭化水素回収方法の概要]
第1実施形態の炭化水素回収方法においては、微生物が二酸化炭素の生成に用いる組成物として尿素を圧入した。これに対して、第2実施形態の炭化水素回収方法においては、微生物が硫酸イオンの生成に用いる組成物としてチオ硫酸塩を圧入する工程を有する点で、第1実施形態の炭化水素回収方法と異なる。チオ硫酸塩は、例えばチオ硫酸ナトリウム又はチオ硫酸マグネシウムである。
[第2実施形態の炭化水素回収方法の概要]
第1実施形態の炭化水素回収方法においては、微生物が二酸化炭素の生成に用いる組成物として尿素を圧入した。これに対して、第2実施形態の炭化水素回収方法においては、微生物が硫酸イオンの生成に用いる組成物としてチオ硫酸塩を圧入する工程を有する点で、第1実施形態の炭化水素回収方法と異なる。チオ硫酸塩は、例えばチオ硫酸ナトリウム又はチオ硫酸マグネシウムである。
第2実施形態の炭化水素回収方法において硫酸イオンを生成する微生物は、例えば、チオ硫酸塩が酸化した硫黄化合物を加水分解する硫黄酸化細菌(例えばComamonas thiooxydans等)である。この微生物は、式(4)で表される反応式により、チオ硫酸塩が酸化した硫黄化合物を加水分解して硫酸イオンを生成する。

微生物が生成した硫酸イオンは、海底地盤に存在するメタンハイドレートに含まれるメタンと反応して、式(5)で表される反応式により炭酸イオンが生成される。

炭酸イオンが生成されると、海底地盤に含まれていたカルシウム塩又は圧入装置11により圧入されたカルシウム塩と炭酸イオンとが、第1実施形態の説明において示した式(3)で表されるように反応して、炭酸カルシウムが析出する。その結果、第1実施形態の炭化水素回収方法と同様に、海底地盤に炭酸カルシウムが析出することにより、海底地盤内の土砂が生産井2に流れ込むことを防止できる。
第2実施形態の炭化水素回収方法においても、第1実施形態の炭化水素回収方法で海底地盤の固化を促進するための工程を実行することができる。具体的には、炭化水素回収方法は、微生物によるチオ硫酸塩の加水分解を促進させるために、微生物の栄養となる栄養塩を圧入する工程をさらに有してもよい。チオ硫酸塩を加水分解する能力が高い微生物を優先化することにより、微生物が生成する硫酸イオンの量が増え、硫酸イオンの量が増えることで炭酸イオンの量が増えるので、炭酸カルシウムの析出量が増加する。
なお、第2実施形態の炭化水素回収方法も、圧入する栄養塩の量に対応する量のカルシウム塩を圧入する工程をさらに有してもよい。このようにすることで、栄養塩の圧入によって増加した炭酸イオンを最大限に活用して炭酸カルシウムを析出させることが可能になる。
また、第2実施形態の炭化水素回収方法は、炭酸カルシウムの析出に用いられる二酸化炭素の量を増やすために、チオ硫酸塩を加水分解させて硫酸イオンを生成することができる微生物を圧入する微生物圧入工程をさらに有してもよい。海底地盤内でチオ硫酸塩を加水分解することができる微生物を圧入するために、第2実施形態の炭化水素回収方法は、微生物圧入工程の前に実行される、生産井2から回収される水が存在する嫌気環境下で、生産井2に圧入する微生物を培養する工程をさらに有してもよい。このようにして培養した微生物を生産井2に圧入することで、微生物による硫酸イオンの生成量が増加し、炭酸カルシウムの析出量が増加する。
なお、以上の炭化水素回収方法において、生産井2の内部をアルカリ性にした状態でチオ硫酸塩を圧入することが好ましい。このようにすることで、微生物が溶解して粘性を生じるので、微生物が存在する領域の周辺の粘度を向上させるので、出砂問題対策に好適である。
[第2実施形態の炭化水素回収方法による効果]
以上説明したように、第2実施形態の炭化水素回収方法においては、炭酸カルシウムの析出を促進させるための硫酸イオンを生成する微生物が硫酸イオンの生成に用いる組成物として、チオ硫酸塩を生産井2に圧入する。そして、チオ硫酸塩を圧入した後に、生産井2の内部の圧力を下げた状態でメタンハイドレートを回収する。このように、チオ硫酸塩を生産井2に圧入することにより、微生物がチオ硫酸塩を加水分解して生成した硫酸イオンに基づいて、炭酸カルシウムが析出する。その結果、生産井2の付近の地盤が固化することで、土砂が生産井2に流入することを抑制できる。
以上説明したように、第2実施形態の炭化水素回収方法においては、炭酸カルシウムの析出を促進させるための硫酸イオンを生成する微生物が硫酸イオンの生成に用いる組成物として、チオ硫酸塩を生産井2に圧入する。そして、チオ硫酸塩を圧入した後に、生産井2の内部の圧力を下げた状態でメタンハイドレートを回収する。このように、チオ硫酸塩を生産井2に圧入することにより、微生物がチオ硫酸塩を加水分解して生成した硫酸イオンに基づいて、炭酸カルシウムが析出する。その結果、生産井2の付近の地盤が固化することで、土砂が生産井2に流入することを抑制できる。
<第3実施形態>
第1実施形態の炭化水素生産方法においては、尿素を加水分解するウレアーゼ活性を有する微生物を使用し、第2実施形態の炭化水素生産方法においては、チオ硫酸塩が酸化した後に加水分解する微生物を使用したが、第3実施形態の炭化水素生産方法は、これらの複数の微生物を組み合わせて使用する点で、第1実施形態及び第2実施形態の炭化水素生産方法と異なる。
第1実施形態の炭化水素生産方法においては、尿素を加水分解するウレアーゼ活性を有する微生物を使用し、第2実施形態の炭化水素生産方法においては、チオ硫酸塩が酸化した後に加水分解する微生物を使用したが、第3実施形態の炭化水素生産方法は、これらの複数の微生物を組み合わせて使用する点で、第1実施形態及び第2実施形態の炭化水素生産方法と異なる。
メタンハイドレートの回収が進んでおらず、海底地盤が初期の状態である間は、海底地盤に生息しているチオ硫酸塩が酸化した硫黄化合物を加水分解する微生物を有効活用できると考えられる。一方、メタンハイドレートの回収が進み、圧力損失や出砂が懸念される段階で、尿素を圧入して、ウレアーゼ活性を有する微生物による固化を促進することが考えられる。
そこで、第3実施形態の炭化水素生産方法においては、チオ硫酸塩が酸化した硫黄化合物を加水分解する微生物により土砂を固化させた後にメタンハイドレートの回収を開始し、メタンハイドレートの回収が進んだ後に、尿素を加水分解するウレアーゼ活性を有する微生物により土砂を固化する。このように、生産井2の周辺の状況に応じて最適な微生物を優先化することにより、効率良く土砂を固化しつつメタンハイドレートを回収することが可能になる。
さらに、事前に生産井2の付近の海底地盤に存在する微生物の種類及び量を調査し、存在する微生物の種類及び量に基づいて、圧入する組成物の種類及び量を決定してもよい。例えば、ウレアーゼ活性を有する微生物が存在する場合には尿素を優先的に圧入し、硫黄酸化細菌が存在する場合にはチオ硫酸塩を優先的に圧入することで、海底地盤に存在する微生物を効果的に活性化させることができる。
また、事前に調査した結果に基づいて、必要な微生物を培養し、培養した微生物を圧入してもよい。このようにすることで、海底地盤内の微生物の状況を最適化することができる。

以上、本発明を実施の形態を用いて説明したが、本発明の技術的範囲は上記実施の形態に記載の範囲には限定されず、その要旨の範囲内で種々の変形及び変更が可能である。例えば、装置の分散・統合の具体的な実施の形態は、以上の実施の形態に限られず、その全部又は一部について、任意の単位で機能的又は物理的に分散・統合して構成することができる。また、複数の実施の形態の任意の組み合わせによって生じる新たな実施の形態も、本発明の実施の形態に含まれる。組み合わせによって生じる新たな実施の形態の効果は、もとの実施の形態の効果を合わせ持つ。

Claims (15)
- 炭酸カルシウムの析出を促進させるための二酸化炭素又は硫酸イオンを生成する微生物が存在する海底地盤に設けられた生産井から、炭化水素を含有する生産流体を回収する炭化水素回収方法であって、
前記微生物が二酸化炭素又は硫酸イオンの生成に用いる組成物を前記生産井に圧入する圧入工程と、
前記組成物を圧入した後に前記生産井内を減圧する減圧工程と、
前記生産井内を減圧した状態で炭化水素を回収する回収工程と、
を有することを特徴とする炭化水素回収方法。 - 前記圧入工程において、前記生産井に設けられた開口を介して、前記海底地盤に前記組成物を圧入することを特徴とする、
請求項1に記載の炭化水素回収方法。 - 前記圧入工程において、前記組成物として尿素を圧入することを特徴とする、

前記海底地盤内の微生物を前記生産井の側に移動させるための第1減圧工程と、
前記第1減圧工程の後に実行され、前記海底地盤内のメタンハイドレートを回収するための第2減圧工程と、

前記微生物が二酸化炭素又は硫酸イオンの生成に用いる組成物を前記生産井に圧入する圧入部と、
前記組成物を圧入した後に前記生産井内を減圧する減圧部と、
前記生産井内を減圧した状態で炭化水素を回収する回収部と、
を有することを特徴とする炭化水素回収システム。
