Description

電子透かし埋め込み装置、電子透かし検出装置、電子透かし埋め込み方法、電子透かし検出方法、及びプログラム
 本発明は、電子透かし埋め込み装置、電子透かし検出装置、電子透かし埋め込み方法、電子透かし検出方法、及びプログラムに関する。
 画像や映像等のコンテンツ内に別の情報を埋め込む、電子透かしと称される技術が知られている。電子透かしは、コンテンツの流通等において、コンテンツの識別や管理、著作権の保護や管理、コンテンツに関連する情報の提供等の目的のために用いられることが多い。
 画像コンテンツに対する電子透かし技術では、画素値の微小変更に基づく方法が知られている。例えば、枠線を利用した幾何ひずみ補正と、2次元ブロックパターン変調方式に基づく電子透かしアルゴリズムとを組み合わせた手法が知られている(非特許文献1)。
 非特許文献1に開示されている手法によれば、予め電子透かしを埋め込んだ画像を紙に印刷した場合でも、携帯電話やスマートフォン等のカメラを使って、高速かつ安定的に電子透かしを検出することができる。また、画像を印刷した場合に、斜め方向から撮影しても電子透かしを検出することができる。

 ここで、商品パッケージ等を印刷する業務用印刷機では、高速かつ低コストに印刷することを重視するため、市販のインクジェットプリンタよりも解像度が劣る場合がある。このため、サイズの小さな対象(例えば、商品の一部に貼り付けされた企業ロゴや商品ロゴ等)に対して電子透かしを埋め込む場合、十分な出力解像度が得られず、透かしパターンが潰れてしまい、電子透かしを検出できないことがある。
 これに対して、透かしパターンを潰さないために、透かし強度を強めにして埋め込むことも可能であるが、この場合、透かしパターンが目立ってしまいデザイン品質が劣化するという問題がある。また、非特許文献1に開示されている手法では、透かしパターンとして一定の幅の縞成分が規則的に並ぶため、ある程度薄く埋め込んでも人間が目視で検知し易く、透かしパターンが目立つことがあるという問題がある。
 一方で、ハーフトーンを使う代わりに、グレーインク等の特色インクを追加することで、低解像度でも薄い透かしパターンで印刷して、透かしパターンを目立たなくする方法もあるが、この場合、印刷に要するコストが増大するという問題がある。
 したがって、基本的なCMYKインクのみを用いて、低解像度の印刷機により印刷した場合に、透かしパターンが目立ちにくくするには、電子透かしを埋め込む対象のサイズが限定されてしまうという問題がある。
 本発明は、上記の点に鑑みてなされたものであって、電子透かしを埋め込む対象のサイズに関わらず、低解像度の印刷機でも透かしパターンが目立ちにくい電子透かしを埋め込むことを目的とする。
 上記課題を解決するため、画像に対して電子透かし情報を埋め込むための電子透かし埋め込み装置であって、第1の画像データを入力する入力手段と、前記第1の画像データが示す画像上に所定のマーカを付与する、又は、前記画像から抽出される特徴点の位置座標と、該特徴点の位置座標から検出される局所特徴量と、前記画像の4頂点の位置座標とを算出し、算出した前記特徴点の位置座標と、前記局所特徴量と、前記4頂点の位置座標とを所定の記憶領域に記憶させるマーカ手段と、前記第1の画像データが示す画像を複数のブロック領域に分割する分割手段と、前記複数のブロック領域のうちの隣接する2以上のブロック領域の組と、前記電子透かし情報を表すビット列に含まれる各ビットとを対応付けて、前記組毎に、該組に対応付けられたビットのビット値に応じて、前記組に含まれる第1のブロック群と、第2のブロック群とのいずれか一方のブロック群を所定の色で塗りつぶした画像を作成する電子透かし重畳手段と、前記塗りつぶされた画像を示す第2の画像データを出力する出力手段と、を有する。
 電子透かしを埋め込む対象のサイズに関わらず、低解像度の印刷機でも透かしパターンが目立ちにくい電子透かしを埋め込むことができる。

 以下、本発明の各実施の形態について、図面を参照しながら説明する。
 [第一の実施の形態]
 <電子透かし埋め込み装置10及び電子透かし検出装置20の構成>
 まず、本発明の第一の実施形態における電子透かし埋め込み装置10及び電子透かし検出装置20の構成について、図1を参照しながら説明する。図1は、本発明の第一の実施の形態における電子透かし埋め込み装置10及び電子透かし検出装置20の構成の一例を示す図である。
 図1に示す電子透かし埋め込み装置10は、例えばPC(パーソナルコンピュータ)、スマートフォン、タブレット端末等のコンピュータである。なお、電子透かし埋め込み装置10は、スキャナやプロッタ等を有する画像形成装置、デジタルカメラ等であっても良い。電子透かし埋め込み装置10は、画像の入力及び出力が可能な種々の装置であれば良い。
 電子透かし埋め込み装置10は、埋め込み処理部100を有する。電子透かし埋め込み装置10は、埋め込み処理部100により、電子透かしの埋め込み処理を行う。すなわち、埋め込み処理部100は、入力した埋め込み対象画像G100に対して電子透かし情報を埋め込んで埋め込み済画像G200を作成した上で、作成した埋め込み済画像G200を出力する。電子透かし情報は、ビット列で表すことができる任意の情報(データ)である。
 図1に示す電子透かし検出装置20は、例えばPC、スマートフォン、タブレット端末等のコンピュータである。電子透かし検出装置20は、少なくともスキャナを有する画像形成装置、デジタルカメラ等であっても良い。電子透かし検出装置20は、少なくとも画像の入力が可能な種々の装置であれば良い。
 電子透かし検出装置20は、検出処理部200を有する。電子透かし検出装置20は、検出処理部200により、電子透かしの検出処理を行う。すなわち、検出処理部200は、入力した埋め込み済画像G300から電子透かし情報を検出した上で、検出した電子透かし情報を出力する。なお、電子透かしの検出処理における埋め込み済画像G300を、「クエリ画像G300」とも表す。
 なお、図1に示す電子透かし埋め込み装置10及び電子透かし検出装置20の構成は、一例であって、他の構成であっても良い。例えば、埋め込み処理部100と、検出処理部200とが一台の装置に含まれていても良い。
 <ハードウェア構成>
 次に、電子透かし埋め込み装置10及び電子透かし検出装置20を実現するコンピュータ300のハードウェア構成について、図2を参照しながら説明する。図2は、コンピュータ300のハードウェア構成の一例を示す図である。
 図2に示すコンピュータ300は、入力装置301と、表示装置302と、外部I/F303と、RAM(Random Access Memory)304と、ROM(Read Only Memory)305と、CPU(Central Processing Unit)306と、通信I/F307と、補助記憶装置308とを有する。これら各ハードウェアは、それぞれがバスBを介して通信可能に接続されている。
 入力装置301は、例えばキーボードやマウス、タッチパネル等であり、ユーザが各種操作を入力するのに用いられる。表示装置302は、例えばディスプレイ等であり、コンピュータ300の処理結果を表示する。
 外部I/F303は、外部装置とのインタフェースである。外部装置には、記録媒体303a等がある。コンピュータ300は、外部I/F303を介して、記録媒体303a等の読み取りや書き込みを行うことができる。記録媒体303aには、例えば、埋め込み処理部100を実現するプログラム、検出処理部200を実現するプログラム等が記録されていても良い。
 記録媒体303aには、例えば、フレキシブルディスク、CD(Compact Disc)、DVD(Digital Versatile Disk)、SDメモリカード(Secure Digital memory card)、USB(Universal Serial Bus)メモリカード等がある。
 RAM304は、プログラムやデータを一時保持する揮発性の半導体メモリである。ROM305は、電源を切ってもプログラムやデータを保持することができる不揮発性の半導体メモリである。ROM305には、例えば、OS(Operating System)設定やネットワーク設定等が格納されている。
 CPU306は、ROM305や補助記憶装置308等からプログラムやデータをRAM304上に読み出して処理を実行する演算装置である。
 通信I/F307は、コンピュータ300をネットワークに接続するためのインタフェースである。
 補助記憶装置308は、例えばHDD(Hard Disk Drive)やSSD(Solid State Drive)等であり、プログラムやデータを格納している不揮発性の記憶装置である。補助記憶装置308に格納されているプログラムやデータには、例えば、OS、当該OS上において各種機能を実現するアプリケーションプログラム、埋め込み処理部100を実現するプログラム、検出処理部200を実現するプログラム等がある。
 なお、電子透かし埋め込み装置10は、例えば、プロッタ等の印刷装置、カメラ等の撮像装置等を有していても良い。また、電子透かし検出装置20は、例えば、カメラ等の撮像装置、スキャナ等の読み取り装置等を有していても良い。
 本発明の第一の実施の形態における電子透かし埋め込み装置10及び電子透かし検出装置20は、図2に示すコンピュータ300により、後述する各種処理を実現することができる。
 <埋め込み処理部100の機能構成>
 次に、本発明の第一の実施の形態における埋め込み処理部100の機能構成について、図3を参照しながら説明する。図3は、本発明の第一の実施の形態における埋め込み処理部100の機能構成の一例を示す図である。
 図3に示す埋め込み処理部100は、電子透かし埋め込み装置10にインストールされた1以上のプログラムが、CPUに実行させる処理により実現される。
 埋め込み処理部100は、画像入力部101と、マーカ付与部102と、電子透かし重畳部103と、埋め込み済画像出力部104とを有する。
 画像入力部101は、埋め込み対象画像G100を入力する。すなわち、画像入力部101は、埋め込み対象画像G100を示す画像データ(デジタルデータ)を入力する。入力された埋め込み対象画像G100は、マーカ付与部102に送信される。
 マーカ付与部102は、画像入力部101が入力した埋め込み対象画像G100に対してマーカを付与して、マーカが付与された埋め込み対象画像G110を作成する。マーカは、電子透かしの検出処理において、クエリ画像G300のうち、電子透かし情報が埋め込まれている領域を特定するための情報である。マーカが付与された埋め込み対象画像G110は、電子透かし重畳部103に送信される。
 なお、マーカ付与部102は、埋め込み対象画像G100にマーカを付与するのではなく、電子透かし情報が埋め込まれている領域を特定するための所定の情報を所定の記憶領域に保存しても良い。
 以降の電子透かし重畳部103では、マーカが付与される前の埋め込み対象画像G100と、マーカが付与された埋め込み対象画像G110とを区別せずに、単に、「埋め込み対象画像G100」と表す。
 電子透かし重畳部103は、マーカ付与部102から受信した埋め込み対象画像G100を複数のブロック領域に分割した上で、隣接するブロック領域をペアリングする。なお、上記のマーカ付与部102が埋め込み対象画像G100にマーカを付与しない場合、電子透かし重畳部103は、画像入力部101が入力した埋め込み対象画像G100を複数のブロック領域に分割した上で、隣接するブロック領域をペアリングすれば良い。
 そして、電子透かし重畳部103は、ペアリングされた各ペア毎に、当該ペアに含まれる第1のブロック領域における明度の平均値と、当該ペアに含まれる第2のブロック領域における明度の平均値との大小関係が、電子透かし情報を表すビット列の各ビット値(「0」又は「1」)に対応するように電子透かしを埋め込み対象画像G100に埋め込む。これにより、埋め込み済画像G200が作成される。作成された埋め込み済画像G200は、埋め込み済画像出力部104に送信される。
 埋め込み済画像出力部104は、電子透かし重畳部103が作成した埋め込み済画像G200を出力する。
 <検出処理部200の機能構成>
 次に、本発明の第一の実施の形態における検出処理部200の機能構成について、図4を参照しながら説明する。図4は、本発明の第一の実施の形態における検出処理部200の機能構成の一例を示す図である。
 図4に示す検出処理部200は、電子透かし検出装置20にインストールされた1以上のプログラムが、CPUに実行させる処理により実現される。
 検出処理部200は、画像入力部201と、マーカ検出・座標特定部202と、射影変換補正部203と、電子透かし検出部204と、結果出力部205とを有する。
 画像入力部201は、クエリ画像G300を入力する。クエリ画像G300は、例えば、埋め込み済画像G200が印刷された印刷物をカメラ等で撮影することにより入力された画像データ(デジタルデータ)である。入力されたクエリ画像G200は、マーカ検出・座標特定部202に送信される。
 マーカ検出・座標特定部202は、画像入力部201が入力したクエリ画像G300において、マーカ付与部102が付与したマーカを検出する。そして、マーカ検出・座標特定部202は、検出したマーカに基づいて、クエリ画像G300のうち、電子透かし情報が埋め込まれている矩形領域の4頂点の座標を特定する。特定された4頂点の座標は、射影変換補正部203に送信される。
 射影変換補正部203は、マーカ検出・座標特定部202が特定した4頂点の座標に基づいて、クエリ画像G300を正規化して、正規化後のクエリ画像G310を作成する。正規化とは、例えば、埋め込み済画像G200が印刷された印刷物をカメラ等で撮影することにより入力されたクエリ画像G300を、当該印刷物を正面から撮影した場合に入力される画像に変換することである。正規化後のクエリ画像G310は、電子透かし検出部204に送信される。
 以降の電子透かし検出部204では、正規化前のクエリ画像G300と、正規化後のクエリ画像G310とを区別せずに、単に、「クエリ画像G300」と表す。
 電子透かし検出部204は、射影変換補正部203が正規化したクエリ画像G300から電子透かし情報を検出する。検出された電子透かし情報は、結果出力部205に送信される。
 結果出力部205は、電子透かし検出部204が検出した電子透かし情報を出力する。
 <電子透かしの埋め込み処理>
 以降では、埋め込み対象画像G100に電子透かし情報を埋め込んだ埋め込み済画像G200を作成して、作成した埋め込み済画像G200を出力する処理について、図5を参照しながら説明する。図5は、本発明の第一の実施の形態における電子透かし埋め込み処理の一例を示すフローチャートである。
 まず、埋め込み処理部100の画像入力部101は、埋め込み対象画像G100を入力する(ステップS11)。画像入力部101は、例えば、補助記憶装置等に記憶されている埋め込み対象画像G100を入力すれば良い。
 次に、埋め込み処理部100のマーカ付与部102は、画像入力部101が入力した埋め込み対象画像G100に対してマーカを付与する(ステップS12)。
 マーカ付与部102は、例えば、埋め込み対象画像G100の周囲に明示的な枠線を付与することで、マーカを付与すれば良い。又は、マーカ付与部102は、例えば、QRコード(登録商標)等をマーカとして埋め込み対象画像G100の四隅に付与しても良いし、埋め込み対象画像G100自体をマーカとしても良い。
 埋め込み対象画像G100自体をマーカとする場合、例えば特開2015-201123号公報に開示されている画像認識手法を用いて電子透かし情報の埋め込み領域を特定するための情報を所定の記憶領域に保存すれば良い。すなわち、この場合、例えば、埋め込み対象画像G100から抽出される特徴点の位置を示す座標と、これら特徴点の位置における局所特徴量と、埋め込み対象画像G100の4頂点の座標とを算出して、所定の記憶領域に保存すれば良い。なお、所定の記憶領域は、例えば、電子透かし埋め込み装置10と、電子透かし検出装置20とがアクセス可能な記憶装置上の記憶領域とすれば良い。
 次に、埋め込み処理部100の電子透かし重畳部103は、埋め込み対象画像G100を複数のブロック領域に分割する(ステップS13)。ここで、複数のブロック領域に分割された埋め込み対象画像G100を図6に示す。図6に示す例では、埋め込み対象画像G100は、8×8の64個のブロック領域に分割されている。なお、電子透かし重畳部103は、埋め込み対象画像G100を、予め決められた任意の数のブロック領域に分割すれば良い。
 次に、埋め込み処理部100の電子透かし重畳部103は、埋め込み対象画像G100の各ブロック領域について、隣接する2つのブロック領域をペアリングする(ステップS14)。ここで、ブロック領域のペアリングの例を図7A~図7Dに示す。電子透かし重畳部103は、左右に隣接するブロック領域をペアリングしても良いし(図7Aに示す例)、上下に隣接するブロック領域をペアリングしても良い(図7Bに示す例)。又は、電子透かし重畳部103は、左右に隣接するブロック領域のペアリングと、上下に隣接するブロック領域のペアリングとを混在させても良い(図7C及び図7Dに示す例)。
 次に、埋め込み処理部100の電子透かし重畳部103は、ペアリングさせた各ペアに含まれる2つのブロック領域について、第1のブロック領域における明度の平均値と、第2のブロック領域における明度の平均値との大小関係が、電子透かし情報を表すビット列の各ビット値に対応するように電子透かしを埋め込み対象画像G100に埋め込む(ステップS15)。
 すなわち、電子透かし重畳部103は、例えば、第1のブロック領域における明度の平均値と、第2のブロック領域における明度の平均値との差分を示す差分値について、当該ペアに対応するビットのビット値が「1」の場合は「正」、当該ビットのビット値が「0」の場合は「負」となるように電子透かしを埋め込み対象画像G100に埋め込む。これにより、埋め込み済画像G200が作成される。
 ここで、電子透かしを埋め込み対象画像G100に埋め込む方法には、以下の(1)と(2)とが挙げられる。
 (1)方法1:特定のブロック領域について、白地背景以外の部分の領域を灰色で塗りつぶす。
 方法1では、電子透かし情報を表すビット列のうち、あるペアに対応するビットのビット値が「1」の場合、図8Aに示すように、当該ペアに含まれる第2のブロック領域B2を灰色で塗りつぶす。一方で、当該ペアに対応するビットのビット値が「0」の場合、図8Bに示すように、当該ペアに含まれる第1のブロック領域B1を灰色で塗りつぶす。
 埋め込み対象画像G100全体に対して、方法1により、各ペアに含まれる1つのブロック領域を塗りつぶすことで、電子透かしを埋め込んだ埋め込み済画像G200の一例を図9に示す。なお、図8A、図8B及び図9に示す例では、該当のブロック領域全体を灰色で塗りつぶしたが、当該ブロック領域内に白地の背景が存在する場合には、当該白地の背景部分のみを灰色で塗りつぶすのが良い。これにより、例えば、白地の背景に企業ロゴや商品ロゴ等が含まれるような埋め込み対象画像G100において、ロゴパターンを隠すことなく、目立たずに電子透かしを埋め込むことができる。
 (2)方法2:特定のブロック領域について、空間的にランダムに分散させた黒色の点を、予め設定された所定の密度で上書きする。
 方法2では、電子透かし情報を表すビット列のうち、あるペアに対応するビットのビット値が「1」の場合、図10Aに示すように、当該ペアに含まれる第2のブロック領域B2に対して、所定の密度で空間的にランダムに黒点(黒インクのドット)を上書きする。一方で、当該ペアに対応するビットのビット値が「0」の場合、図10Bに示すように、当該ペアに含まれる第1のブロック領域B1に対して、所定の密度で空間的にランダムに黒点(黒インクのドット)を上書きする。このような黒インクのドットは、例えば、埋め込み済画像G200を印刷する印刷機のdpiに応じたドット径に設定すれば良い。
 埋め込み対象画像G100全体に対して、方法2により、各ペアに含まれる1つのブロック領域に対して、所定の密度で空間的にランダムに黒点を上書きすることで、電子透かしを埋め込んだ埋め込み済画像G200の一例を図11に示す。なお、埋め込み済画像G200において、隣接したペア同士であれば、それらの明度の差分は、黒点を上書きする前の埋め込み対象画像G100においてもほぼ同程度になっていることが期待される。そのため、埋め込み対象画像G100の内容に関わらず、常に、同一の密度で黒点を上書きすれば良い。
 ただし、電子透かし検出の精度をより向上させるため、埋め込み対象画像G100に含まれる各ブロック領域の明度を予めチェックして、差分値が逆転しないように各ブロック領域で黒点の密度を調整しても良い。差分値が逆転するとは、例えば、あるペアに対応するビットのビット値が「1」であるにも関わらず、第1のブロック領域B1の明度の平均値と、黒点を上書きした後の第2のブロック領域B2の明度の平均値との差分値が「負」となるような場合である。
 また、方法2では、背景が白地か否かを確認する必要はないが、白地の背景にのみ電子透かしを埋め込むようにしても良い。すなわち、ブロック領域内に白地の背景が存在する場合には、当該白地の背景部分のみに黒点を上書きしても良い。これにより、例えば、白地の背景に企業ロゴや商品ロゴ等が含まれるような埋め込み対象画像G100において、ロゴパターンに影響を与えることなく、目立たずに電子透かしを埋め込むことができる。
 なお、ランダムに黒点を上書きする場合、各々のペアに含まれる2つのブロック領域のうち、いずれか1つのブロック領域には必ず1つ以上の黒点を上書きする必要がある。また、設定された密度よっては、1つのブロック領域に1乃至2個程度しか黒点が上書きされない場合も有り得る。そのような場合には、電子透かし検出処理において特定される電子透かし情報の埋め込み領域の位置ずれに対して頑健にするため、1つのブロック領域において少なくとも1個の黒点を、ブロック領域の中央又はその近傍に上書きされるようにした方が良い。
 また、ペアではなく、例えば3つのブロック領域を1つの組として、電子透かし情報を表すビット列のうちの1つのビットを組に対応付けても良い。この場合、例えば、第1のブロック領域と第3のブロック領域とで、第2のブロック領域を挟み込むような位置関係として、第1のブロック領域及び第3のブロック領域の明度の平均と、第2のブロック領域の明度の平均との大小関係により、当該ビットのビット値に対応するように電子透かしを埋め込めば良い。すなわち、複数のブロック領域を1つの組とした場合、この組を第1のブロック群と、第2のブロック群とに分割した上で、それぞれのブロック群の明度の平均値の大小関係により、当該ビットのビット値に対応するように電子透かしを埋め込めば良い。
 更に、電子透かし情報を表すビット列を埋め込み対象画像G100にそのまま埋め込んだ場合、例えば、部分遮蔽等の劣化要因に対してロバスト性が低いため、スペクトル拡散や誤り訂正符号化等のビット冗長化を行ってから埋め込むのが良い。また、電子透かし情報を表すビット列のビットの並びと、埋め込み対象画像G100に含まれる各ブロック領域の並びとを必ずしも一致させる必要はなく、例えば、再現可能な乱数生成方法により、ビット列の並びにスクランブルを施しても良い。
 次に、埋め込み処理部100の埋め込み済画像出力部104は、電子透かし重畳部103が作成した埋め込み済画像G200を出力する(ステップS16)。埋め込み済画像G200の出力先としては、例えば、電子透かし埋め込み装置10に接続された印刷機に出力しても良いし、電子透かし埋め込み装置10が画像形成装置等である場合には自身が有する印刷装置(プロッタ)に出力しても良い。また、HDD等の補助記憶装置等に出力しても良いし、ディスプレイ等の表示装置に出力しても良い。
 以上により、本発明の第一の実施の形態における電子透かし埋め込み装置10は、埋め込み対象画像G100に対して電子透かし情報を埋め込んで、埋め込み済画像G200を作成して、作成した埋め込み済画像G200を出力することができる。
 このとき、本発明の第一の実施の形態における電子透かし埋め込み装置10は、埋め込み対象画像G100を複数のブロック領域に分割する。そして、本発明の第一の実施の形態における電子透かし埋め込み装置10は、隣接するブロック領域の組に含まれる各ブロック領域の明度の平均値の差分が、電子透かし情報の各ビット値に対応するように電子透かしを埋め込むことで、埋め込み済画像G200を作成する。これにより、埋め込み済画像G200を印刷する場合に、印刷物のサイズに関わらず、低解像度の印刷機でも透かしパターンが目立ちにくい電子透かしを埋め込むことができるようになる。
 <電子透かしの検出処理>
 以降では、電子透かし情報が埋め込まれたクエリ画像G300から電子透かし情報を検出する処理について、図12を参照しながら説明する。図12は、本発明の第一の実施の形態における電子透かし検出処理の一例を示すフローチャートである。
 まず、検出処理部200の画像入力部201は、クエリ画像G300を入力する(ステップS21)。画像入力部201は、例えば、埋め込み済画像G200が印刷された印刷物をカメラ等で撮影することにより作成されたクエリ画像G300を入力する。
 次に、検出処理部200のマーカ検出・座標特定部202は、画像入力部201が入力したクエリ画像G300において、マーカ付与部102が付与したマーカを検出する(ステップS22)。
 例えば、マーカ付与部102が埋め込み対象画像G100の周囲に明示的な枠線を付与した場合には、マーカ検出・座標特定部202は、非特許文献1に開示されている枠検出アルゴリズム等を用いて、マーカ(枠線)を検出すれば良い。当該枠線で表される領域が、電子透かし情報が埋め込まれている領域となる。
 また、例えば、マーカ付与部102が埋め込み対象画像G100自体をマーカとした場合は、マーカ検出・座標特定部202は、上記のステップS12でマーカ付与部102が所定の記憶領域に保存した情報(埋め込み対象画像G100の特徴点の位置を示す座標、局所特徴量、及び4頂点の座標)を取得すれば良い。
 次に、マーカ検出・座標特定部202は、検出したマーカに基づいて、クエリ画像G300のうち、電子透かし情報が埋め込まれている矩形領域の4頂点の座標を特定する(ステップS23)。
 例えば、マーカが枠線である場合は、マーカ検出・座標特定部202は、当該枠線で表される矩形領域の4頂点の座標を特定すれば良い。
 また、例えば、マーカが埋め込み対象画像G100自体である場合は、マーカ検出・座標特定部202は、クエリ画像G300と、所定の記憶領域から取得した情報とに基づいて、当該クエリ画像G300のうち、電子透かし情報が埋め込まれている矩形領域の4頂点の座標を算出する。
 より具体的には、クエリ画像G300から特徴点を抽出して、当該特徴点と、上記の所定の記憶領域から取得した特徴点との対応付けを局所特徴量の照合により行う。次に、これら特徴点同士の位置のずれ具合から最小二乗法等で射影変換行列のパラメータを算出する。そして、上記の所定の記憶領域から取得した4頂点の座標が、クエリ画像G300のどの座標に対応付けられるかを、算出したパラメータを用いた射影変換行列により求める。これにより求められたクエリ画像G300の座標(上記の4頂点にそれぞれ対応するクエリ画像G300の座標)が、電子透かし情報が埋め込まれている矩形領域の4頂点の座標である。
 次に、検出処理部200の射影変換補正部203は、マーカ検出・座標特定部202が特定した4頂点の座標に基づいて、クエリ画像G300を遮蔽変換補正して正規化する(ステップS24)。このとき、当該4頂点が示す矩形領域外の部分は不要であるため、正規化後のクエリ画像G300から削除(クリッピング)する。
 検出処理部200の電子透かし検出部204は、クエリ画像G300から電子透かし情報を検出する(ステップS25)。すなわち、電子透かし検出部204は、クエリ画像G300に含まれる各ペア(隣接する2つのブロック領域)について、当該ペアに含まれる第1のブロック領域の明度の平均値と、第2のブロック領域の明度の平均値とを算出する。そして、電子透かし検出部204は、第1のブロック領域の明度の平均値と、第2のブロック領域の明度の平均値との差分値が正又は負のいずれであるかにより、電子透かし情報を表すビット列のうち、当該ペアに対応するビットのビット値が「1」又は「0」のいずれであるかを判定する。これにより、電子透かし情報を表すビット列を検出することができる。
 なお、電子透かしの埋め込み処理において、電子透かし重畳部103がビット冗長化やスクランブルを行っている場合は、電子透かし検出部204は、上記で検出されたビット列を復号するための処理を行う。
 次に、検出処理部200の結果出力部205は、電子透かし検出部204が検出した電子透かし情報を表すビット列を出力する(ステップS26)。電子透かし情報の出力先としては、例えば、電子透かし検出装置20のディスプレイ等の表示装置に出力すれば良い。又は、電子透かし情報と、URL(Uniform Resource Locator)とが対応付けられたテーブルを参照して、電子透かし検出部204が検出した電子透かし情報に対応付けられているURLが示すWebページをブラウザ等で表示させても良い。なお、このようなテーブルは、例えば、電子透かし検出装置20の補助記憶装置に記憶されていれば良い。
 以上により、本発明の第一の実施の形態における電子透かし検出装置20は、埋め込み済画像G200が印刷された印刷物を撮影すること等により作成したクエリ画像G300から電子透かし情報を検出して、検出した電子透かし情報を出力することができる。
 [第二の実施の形態]
 次に、本発明の第二の実施の形態について説明する。ここで、商品のパッケージ等には、商品の内容物が透けて見えるような透明なフィルム等を用いたものがある。電子透かしを埋め込む対象がこのような透明なフィルム等である場合、一般的なCMYKインクを利用して電子透かしを印刷すると、透かしパターンが商品内容物の表面テクスチャに紛れてしまうことがある。
 このため、透明なフィルム等に電子透かしを埋め込む場合、例えばスマートフォン等のカメラで透かしを読み取ることが困難になることがある。これは、印刷が減法混色に基づく色表現方法であることに起因しており、商品内容物が黒に近い表面色になる程、透かしの読み取りがより困難になる傾向がある。これに対して、例えば、グレー色のインク等の特色インクを用いて電子透かしを印刷する方法もあるが、印刷コストが増大するという問題がある。
 そこで、本発明の第二の実施の形態では、透明な埋め込み対象に対しても、検出精度の高い電子透かしを埋め込む場合について説明する。
 第二の実施の形態では、主に、第一の実施の形態との相違点について説明し、第一の実施の形態と同様の構成要素については、同一の符号を付与し、その説明を省略する。
 <電子透かしの埋め込み処理>
 以降では、埋め込み対象画像G100に電子透かし情報を埋め込んだ埋め込み済画像G200を作成して、作成した埋め込み済画像G200を出力する処理について、図13を参照しながら説明する。図13は、本発明の第二の実施の形態における電子透かし埋め込み処理の一例を示すフローチャートである。
 ステップS14に続いて、埋め込み処理部100の電子透かし重畳部103は、ペアリングさせた各ペアに含まれる2つのブロック領域について、第1のブロック領域における明度の平均値と、第2のブロック領域における明度の平均値との大小関係が、電子透かし情報を表すビット列の各ビット値に対応するように電子透かしを埋め込み対象画像G100に埋め込む(ステップS31)。
 すなわち、第一の実施の形態と同様に、電子透かし重畳部103は、例えば、第1のブロック領域における明度の平均値と、第2のブロック領域における明度の平均値との差分を示す差分値について、当該ペアに対応するビットのビット値が「1」の場合は「正」、当該ビットのビット値が「0」の場合は「負」となるように電子透かしを埋め込み対象画像G100に埋め込む。
 ここで、電子透かしを埋め込み対象画像G100に埋め込む方法について具体的に説明する。
 電子透かし情報を表すビット列のうち、あるペアに対応するビットのビット値が「1」の場合、図14Aに示すように、当該ペアに含まれる第1のブロック領域B1に対して、所定の密度で空間的にランダムに白点(白インクのドット)を上書きすると共に、第2のブロック領域B2に対して、所定の密度で空間的にランダムに黒点(黒インクのドット)を上書きする。
 一方で、当該ペアに対応するビットのビット値が「0」の場合、図14Bに示すように、当該ペアに含まれる第1のブロック領域B1に対して、所定の密度で空間的にランダムに黒点を上書きすると共に、第2のブロック領域B2に対して、所定の密度で空間的にランダムに白点を上書きする。なお、以降では、黒点と白点を区別しないときは、単に、「点」とも表す。
 埋め込み対象画像G100全体に対して、上記方法により、各ペアに含まれる各ブロック領域に対して、所定の密度で空間的にランダムに黒点及び白点を上書きすることで、電子透かしを埋め込んだ埋め込み済画像G200の一例を図15に示す。なお、点の色と、当該点が印刷される用紙の色とが同じである場合、この点の位置の印刷を行わない(すなわち、当該位置にインクをのせない)ようにしても良い。例えば、用紙の色が白色である場合には、各白点の位置の印刷を行わないようにしても良い。
 ここで、例えば、企業ロゴや商品ロゴ等のログ部分以外の背景が透過している埋め込み対象画像G100全体に対して、上記方法により、各ペアに含まれる各ブロック領域に対して、所定の密度で空間的にランダムに黒点及び白点を上書きすることで、電子透かしを埋め込んだ埋め込み済画像G200の例を図16に示す。このとき、透過している背景部分についても、全てのペアに含まれる各ブロックに対して黒点及び白点を上書きする。
 ただし、もし企業ロゴや商品ロゴ等のロゴ部分の印刷品質を変えたくない場合、図17に示すように、背景部分だけに黒点及び白点を上書きしても良い(すなわち、ロゴ部分には黒点及び白点が上書きされないようにしても良い。)。なお、隣接したペア同士であれば、それらのペアの背景に特定のテクスチャを持つ内容物が透過していたとしても、それらのペアに含まれるブロック領域内の明度の平均値の差はほぼゼロになっていることが期待される。このため、埋め込み対象画像G100の内容や透過する内容物のテクスチャに関わらず、常に、同一の密度で黒点及び白点を上書きすれば良い。
 ただし、電子透かし検出の精度をより向上させるため、埋め込み対象画像G100に含まれる各ブロック領域の明度を予めチェックして、差分値が逆転しないように各ブロック領域で黒点及び白点の密度を調整しても良い。差分値が逆転するとは、例えば、あるペアに対応するビットのビット値が「1」であるにも関わらず、白点を上書きした後の第1のブロック領域B1の明度の平均値と、黒点を上書きした後の第2のブロック領域B2の明度の平均値との差分値が「負」となるような場合である。
 なお、ランダムに点を上書きする場合、各々のペアに含まれる2つのブロック領域のうち、いずれか1つのブロック領域には必ず1つ以上の点を上書きする必要がある。また、設定された密度よっては、1つのブロック領域に1乃至2個程度しか点が上書きされない場合も有り得る。そのような場合には、電子透かし検出処理において特定される電子透かし情報の埋め込み領域の位置ずれに対して頑健にするため、1つのブロック領域において少なくとも1個の点を、ブロック領域の中央又はその近傍に上書きされるようにした方が良い。
 次に、埋め込み処理部100の埋め込み済画像出力部104は、電子透かし重畳部103が作成した埋め込み済画像G200を出力する(ステップS32)。埋め込み済画像G200の出力先としては、例えば、電子透かし埋め込み装置10に接続された印刷機に出力すれば良い。ここで、当該印刷機には、CMYKインク以外にもホワイトインクを利用できるものを用いる。
 なお、電子透かし埋め込み装置10が画像形成装置等である場合には自身が有する印刷装置(プロッタ)に出力しても良いし、HDD等の補助記憶装置等に出力しても良い。
 以上により、本発明の第二の実施の形態における電子透かし埋め込み装置10は、埋め込み対象画像G100に対して電子透かし情報を埋め込んで、埋め込み済画像G200を作成して、作成した埋め込み済画像G200を出力することができる。
 このとき、本発明の第二の実施の形態における電子透かし埋め込み装置10は、埋め込み対象画像G100を複数のブロック領域に分割する。そして、本発明の第二の実施の形態における電子透かし埋め込み装置10は、隣接するブロック領域の組に含まれる各ブロック領域の明度の平均値の差分が、電子透かし情報の各ビット値に対応するように電子透かしを埋め込むことで、埋め込み済画像G200を作成する。しかも、本発明の第二の実施の形態における電子透かし埋め込み装置10は、当該組に含まれる各ブロック領域に点(黒点及び白点)を上書きすることで、電子透かしを埋め込む。
 これにより、埋め込み済画像G200を印刷する場合に、内容物が透けて見えるような透明なフィルム等の対象物(埋め込み対象)に電子透かしを埋め込むような場合でも、透過した内容物の表面テクスチャに紛れることなく、例えばスマートフォン等のカメラでも、高い精度で電子透かし情報を検出することができるようになる。すなわち、電子透かしが黒点と白点との2つのパターン(ドットパターン)で表現されるため、例えば内容物が白に近い表面色であっても黒点は紛れずに残すことができ、一方で、例えば内容物が黒に近い表面色であっても白点は紛れずに残すことができる。このため、内容物の表面色に関わらず、高い精度で電子透かし情報を検出することができるようになる。
 なお、本発明の第二の実施の形態では、ランダムドットの密度に基づくパターンを利用した電子透かしで説明したが、ホワイトインクを併用する本発明はこれ以外にもさまざまな電子透かしパターンに適用することができる。例えば、非特許文献1に記載の電子透かしパターンにおいて重畳する信号のうち正方向(明度の高い方向)の信号を白インク(白点)で、負方向(明度の低い方向)の信号を黒インク(黒点)で印刷することで同様の効果を期待することができる。

  1.  画像に対して電子透かし情報を埋め込むための電子透かし埋め込み装置であって、
     第1の画像データを入力する入力手段と、
     前記第1の画像データが示す画像上に所定のマーカを付与する、又は、前記画像から抽出される特徴点の位置座標と、該特徴点の位置座標から検出される局所特徴量と、前記画像の4頂点の位置座標とを算出し、算出した前記特徴点の位置座標と、前記局所特徴量と、前記4頂点の位置座標とを所定の記憶領域に記憶させるマーカ手段と、
     前記第1の画像データが示す画像を複数のブロック領域に分割する分割手段と、
     前記複数のブロック領域のうちの隣接する2以上のブロック領域の組と、前記電子透かし情報を表すビット列に含まれる各ビットとを対応付けて、前記組毎に、該組に対応付けられたビットのビット値に応じて、前記組に含まれる第1のブロック群と、第2のブロック群とのいずれか一方のブロック群を所定の色で塗りつぶした画像を作成する電子透かし重畳手段と、
     前記塗りつぶされた画像を示す第2の画像データを出力する出力手段と、
     を有する電子透かし埋め込み装置。
  2.  前記電子透かし重畳手段は、
     前記ブロック群に白地領域が含まれる場合、該白地領域のみを前記所定の色で塗りつぶす、請求項1に記載の電子透かし埋め込み装置。
  3.  画像に対して電子透かし情報を埋め込むための電子透かし埋め込み装置であって、
     第1の画像データを入力する入力手段と、
     前記第1の画像データが示す画像上に所定のマーカを付与する、又は、前記画像から抽出される特徴点の位置座標と、該特徴点の位置座標から検出される局所特徴量と、前記画像の4頂点の位置座標とを算出し、算出した前記特徴点の位置座標と、前記局所特徴量と、前記4頂点の位置座標とを所定の記憶領域に記憶させるマーカ手段と、
     前記第1の画像データが示す画像を複数のブロック領域に分割する分割手段と、
     前記複数のブロック領域のうちの隣接する2以上のブロック領域の組と、前記電子透かし情報を表すビット列に含まれる各ビットとを対応付けて、前記組毎に、該組に対応付けられたビットのビット値に応じて、前記組に含まれる第1のブロック群と、第2のブロック群とのいずれか一方のブロック群に対して、所定の密度で所定の色の点をランダムに分散させて上書きした画像を作成する電子透かし重畳手段と、
     前記上書きされた画像を示す第2の画像データを出力する出力手段と、
     を有する電子透かし埋め込み装置。
  4.  前記電子透かし重畳手段は、
     前記ブロック群に含まれるブロック内に少なくとも1以上の前記点を上書きし、かつ、上書きされた点の少なくとも1つは前記ブロックの中心又は該中心から所定の範囲内である、請求項3に記載の電子透かし埋め込み装置。
  5.  画像に対して電子透かし情報を埋め込むための電子透かし埋め込み装置であって、
     第1の画像データを入力する入力手段と、
     前記第1の画像データが示す画像上に所定のマーカを付与する、又は、前記画像から抽出される特徴点の位置座標と、該特徴点の位置座標から検出される局所特徴量と、前記画像の4頂点の位置座標とを算出し、算出した前記特徴点の位置座標と、前記局所特徴量と、前記4頂点の位置座標とを所定の記憶領域に記憶させるマーカ手段と、
     前記第1の画像データが示す画像を複数のブロック領域に分割する分割手段と、
     前記複数のブロック領域のうちの隣接する2以上のブロック領域の組と、前記電子透かし情報を表すビット列に含まれる各ビットとを対応付けて、前記組毎に、該組に対応付けられたビットのビット値に応じて、前記組に含まれる第1のブロック群と、第2のブロック群とに対して、所定の第1の色の第1の点と、該第1の点よりも明度が低い第2の色の第2の点とのいずれか一方をそれぞれ所定の密度でランダムに分散させて上書きした画像を作成する電子透かし重畳手段と、
     前記上書きされた画像を示す第2の画像データを出力する出力手段と、
     を有する電子透かし埋め込み装置。
  6.  前記第1の色は白色であり、
     前記出力手段は、
     前記第2の画像データが示す画像を、該画像における前記第1の点をホワイトインクにより印刷する印刷装置に出力する、請求項5に記載の電子透かし埋め込み装置。
  7.  前記電子透かし重畳手段は、
     前記電子透かし情報を表すビット列に対して、ビット冗長化及びスクランブルの少なくとも一方の処理を行って、該処理が行われたビット列に含まれる各ビットと、前記組とを対応付ける、請求項1乃至6の何れか一項に記載の電子透かし埋め込み装置。
  8.  電子透かし情報が埋め込まれた画像から該電子透かし情報を検出する電子透かし検出装置であって、
     第1の画像データを入力する入力手段と、
     前記第1の画像データが示す画像から検出される所定のマーカから該画像の4頂点の位置座標を特定する、又は、前記画像から抽出される第1の特徴点と、所定の第2の特徴点とを所定の局所特徴量により対応付けて、該対応付けに基づいて前記画像の4頂点の位置座標を特定する座標特定手段と、
     前記4頂点の位置座標に基づいて、前記第1の画像データを正規化した第2の画像データを作成する正規化手段と、
     前記第2の画像データが示す画像を複数のブロック領域に分割する分割手段と、
     前記複数のブロック領域のうちの隣接する2以上のブロック領域の組毎に、該組に含まれる第1のブロック群と、第2のブロック群との明度の平均値の差分に応じたビット値を検出する電子透かし検出手段と、
     前記検出されたビット値のビット列により表される電子透かし情報を出力する出力手段と、
     を有する電子透かし検出装置。
  9.  前記電子透かし検出手段は、
     前記検出されたビット値のビット列が、ビット冗長化及びスクランブルの少なくとも一方の処理が行われている場合、前記ビット列を復号する処理を行い、
     前記出力手段は、
     前記復号する処理が行われたビット列により表される電子透かし情報を出力する、請求項8に記載の電子透かし検出装置。
  10.  画像に対して電子透かし情報を埋め込むための電子透かし埋め込み装置が実行する電子透かし埋め込み方法であって、
     第1の画像データを入力する入力手順と、
     前記第1の画像データが示す画像上に所定のマーカを付与する、又は、前記画像から抽出される特徴点の位置座標と、該特徴点の位置座標から検出される局所特徴量と、前記画像の4頂点の位置座標とを算出し、算出した前記特徴点の位置座標と、前記局所特徴量と、前記4頂点の位置座標とを所定の記憶領域に記憶させるマーカ手順と、
     前記第1の画像データが示す画像を複数のブロック領域に分割する分割手順と、
     前記複数のブロック領域のうちの隣接する2以上のブロック領域の組と、前記電子透かし情報を表すビット列に含まれる各ビットとを対応付けて、前記組毎に、該組に対応付けられたビットのビット値に応じて、前記組に含まれる第1のブロック群と、第2のブロック群とのいずれか一方のブロック群を所定の色で塗りつぶした画像を作成する電子透かし重畳手順と、
     前記上書きされた画像を示す第2の画像データを出力する出力手順と、
     を有する電子透かし埋め込み方法。
  11.  画像に対して電子透かし情報を埋め込むための電子透かし埋め込み装置が実行する電子透かし埋め込み方法であって、
     第1の画像データを入力する入力手順と、
     前記第1の画像データが示す画像上に所定のマーカを付与する、又は、前記画像から抽出される特徴点の位置座標と、該特徴点の位置座標から検出される局所特徴量と、前記画像の4頂点の位置座標とを算出し、算出した前記特徴点の位置座標と、前記局所特徴量と、前記4頂点の位置座標とを所定の記憶領域に記憶させるマーカ手順と、
     前記第1の画像データが示す画像を複数のブロック領域に分割する分割手順と、
     前記複数のブロック領域のうちの隣接する2以上のブロック領域の組と、前記電子透かし情報を表すビット列に含まれる各ビットとを対応付けて、前記組毎に、該組に対応付けられたビットのビット値に応じて、前記組に含まれる第1のブロック群と、第2のブロック群とのいずれか一方のブロック群に対して、所定の密度で所定の色の点をランダムに分散させて上書きした画像を作成する電子透かし重畳手順と、
     前記上書きされた画像を示す第2の画像データを出力する出力手順と、
     を有する電子透かし埋め込み方法。
  12.  画像に対して電子透かし情報を埋め込むための電子透かし埋め込み装置が実行する電子透かし埋め込み方法であって、
     第1の画像データを入力する入力手順と、
     前記第1の画像データが示す画像上に所定のマーカを付与する、又は、前記画像から抽出される特徴点の位置座標と、該特徴点の位置座標から検出される局所特徴量と、前記画像の4頂点の位置座標とを算出し、算出した前記特徴点の位置座標と、前記局所特徴量と、前記4頂点の位置座標とを所定の記憶領域に記憶させるマーカ手順と、
     前記第1の画像データが示す画像を複数のブロック領域に分割する分割手順と、
     前記複数のブロック領域のうちの隣接する2以上のブロック領域の組と、前記電子透かし情報を表すビット列に含まれる各ビットとを対応付けて、前記組毎に、該組に対応付けられたビットのビット値に応じて、前記組に含まれる第1のブロック群と、第2のブロック群とに対して、所定の第1の色の第1の点と、該第1の点よりも明度が低い第2の色の第2の点とのいずれか一方をそれぞれ所定の密度でランダムに分散させて上書きした画像を作成する電子透かし重畳手順と、
     前記上書きされた画像を示す第2の画像データを出力する出力手順と、
     を有する電子透かし埋め込み方法。
  13.  電子透かし情報が埋め込まれた画像から該電子透かし情報を検出する電子透かし検出装置が実行する電子透かし検出方法であって、
     第1の画像データを入力する入力手順と、
     前記第1の画像データが示す画像から検出される所定のマーカから該画像の4頂点の位置座標を特定する、又は、前記画像から抽出される第1の特徴点と、所定の第2の特徴点とを所定の局所特徴量により対応付けて、該対応付けに基づいて前記画像の4頂点の位置座標を特定する座標特定手順と、
     前記4頂点の位置座標に基づいて、前記第1の画像データを正規化した第2の画像データを作成する正規化手順と、
     前記第2の画像データが示す画像を複数のブロック領域に分割する分割手順と、
     前記複数のブロック領域のうちの隣接する2以上のブロック領域の組毎に、該組に含まれる第1のブロック群と、第2のブロック群との明度の平均値の差分に応じたビット値を検出する電子透かし検出手順と、
     前記検出されたビット値のビット列により表される電子透かし情報を出力する出力手順と、
     を有する電子透かし検出方法。
  14.  コンピュータを、請求項1乃至7の何れか一項に記載の電子透かし埋め込み装置における各手段として機能させるためのプログラム。
  15.  コンピュータを、請求項8又は9に記載の電子透かし検出装置における各手段として機能させるためのプログラム。
