Abstract

The composite wooden window profile is a new composite window frame product which enables the repeatable replacement of external and internal linings (4), (4.1), (6), (6.2) of the window frame (5). With the use of the submitted invention we can manufacture supporting window frames (5) from cheaper wood because this wood does not come into contact with the environment. External linings (4), (4.1) can be made of wood, resistant to external influences. However, we can also choose any other material. Internal decorative linings (6), (6.1), (6.2) can be made from any type of wood. The linkage between the supporting frame (5) and the linings is made with a detachable design linkage between the screws (3) screwed onto the basic frame (5) and the grooves (1.1), and (2.1) in the carrier plates (1), and (2) that are attached using wood screws (1.2) (4) to the linings (4.1), (6), (6.1). The linkage is achieved by stamping of lining and consequently stamping of notches (1.1) and (2.1) on the bolts (3) that are screwed onto the basic frame (5).

Description

Composite wooden window profile
BACKGROUND
[0001] The subject of the invention is a technical system which enables creation and design of wooden window frames based on of the customer's wishes and requirements, while at the same time offering excellent protection of sensitive wood against external influences (weathering, UV rays) and thus significantly prolonging the service life of the product. It makes it easier and cheaper to repair window frames which is occasionally necessary due to mechanical damage that occurs during the service life of the window.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION AND RELATED ART
[0002] The proposed invention demonstrates the use of composite materials and the high durability of wood for the protection of the external layer of the windows and the method of assembly and clamping of the supporting frame and the external layer.
Due to the possibility of using different types of wood or even different materials, which comprise the window frame, we can freely choose the design - i.e., appearance of the internal and external visible part of the window frame. To protect from weathering, we can choose wood or artificial materials for the outer layer which are much more resistant to environmental effects than the regular wood that is used for the supporting structure.
By selecting spruce or similar inexpensive wood for the supporting structure, while selecting more durable, visually attractive, but expensive wood for the internal and external part, we significantly reduce the cost of the window frame production. By doing so, we reduce the consumption of expensive wood, which would otherwise be used for making the entire window frame along with its supporting section.
In terms of capacity, elasticity, ductability/dilatation, spruce wood is exceptionally suitable for the production of the supporting section; however, in terms of design - appearance and durability with regard to weathering - it does not provide any additional benefits.
The presented invention foresees an external window frame lining made of highly durable wood or any other desired material, while it foresees that the inner window frame linings are made of wood that the user selects according to appearance and other requirements.
Such a structure of the window frame does not compromise the window frame's properties, while at the same time resulting in the following advantages:
1. The production of a relatively inexpensive window frame according to the customer's specifications, the appearance of which will be the same as a window frame made entirely of expensive wood. The customer can choose the material for the internal and external linings independently and exclusively by choice, while the window frame function is unchanged.
2. The long life span of the window frame is equivalent to a window frame made entirely of expensive highly durable wood.
3. The use of composite materials for the external layer of the window frame greatly extends the life span of the product and is equivalent to a window frame made entirely of highly durable composite materials.
4. Maintenance of the window frame is much easier and cheaper since it is possible to replace the external linings of the window frame, and thus completely restore it.
5. From the perspective of production, the change in design - appearance of the window frame by replacing the external lining (depending on the wishes of the user/customer) is simple.
[0003] When reviewing the SIPO Patent databases on the basis of the classifications:

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION AND BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0004] The said invention is described in detail below with the description of the case and the submitted figures which show the following:
Figure 1: It shows the cross-section of the window with the swing opening of the wing outwards, where the proposed invention is used. The cross section shows three main components of the window frame (external 4, 4.1, centre 5 and internal 6, 6.1, 6.2).
Figure 2: It shows the cross-section of a window with lifting fittings (single or double lifting wing), where the proposed invention is used. The cross section shows three main components of the window frame (external 4, 4.1, centre 5 and internal 6, 6.1, 6.2).
Figure 3: It shows the cross-section of a window with a swivelling tilting fitting, where the proposed invention is used. The cross section shows three main components of the window frame (external 4, 4.1, centre 5 and internal 6, 6.1, 6.2).
Figure 4: It shows the construction of the support plate for the jambs 1 and the support plate for the transoms 2 of the outer sheathing 4, 4.1 and the mounting screw M5x20 (according to DIN 921) 3. The supporting plates 1.2 are fitted with wood screws 2.5>< 12mm 1.2., screwed to the internal surface of the external layer of the window frame 4, 4.1. The mounting screw M5x20 3 is screwed onto the outer surface of the carrier section of the frame 5.
Figure 5: It shows the assembling of the carrier plates 1, 2 and the screws 3 as well as the method of applying the external coating of the window (window frame 5), as described by the proposed invention.
The described invention, presented in this patent application utilizes a technical solution for attaching the external window linings 4, 4.1, 6, 6.1, 6.2 via supports 1 and 2 and screws 3 to the supporting window frame 5.
At the precisely determined positions on the supporting window frame 5, screw in the screws 3, M5x20 (DIN 921) to such a depth that the screw head is at a distance from the window frame 2 of +0.5/-0mm, or for the thickness of the supports 1, 2.
Screw in several supporting plates 1 at the precisely determined positions on the inner side of the jambs of the outer coating 4 using two wood screws 1.2 with dimensions 2.5 x 12mm, ensuring that the notch 1.1 is downward oriented.
Screw in several supporting plates 2 at the precisely determined positions on the inner side of the tansoms of the outer coating 4.1 using two wood screws 1.2 with dimensions 2.5x 12mm, ensuring that the notch 2.1 is downward oriented.
When installing a composite outer lining - 2 jambs 4 and 2 traverses 4.1 - on the window frame 5, we proceed by matching the cutouts 1.1 and 2.1 in the supporting plates for jambs 1 and traverses 2 with the screws 3 mounted on the supporting window frame 5. When the notches 1.1 and 2.1 and screws 3 are matched, we press the composite outer lining downwards in the direction of the force of gravity. In this way, the heads of the screws 3 are positioned in the notches 1.1, 2.1 of the supporting plates for the jambs 1 and the traverses 2. This results in the external linings 4, 4.1 and the window frame 5a being rigidly joined. We proceed similarly when installing the internal linings 6., 6.1, 6.2, the only difference being that lining 6.2, when installed, is pressed against the window frame 5 or against the glass 7, since in this case, the supports 2 for the transverse internal linings 6.2 are attached upwards to the internal section of the frame 5, as shown in (Figure 2).
In this way, a modularly detachable composite window profile is obtained, which is coated on the external side with the selected lining 4, 4.1, that is resistant to wheathering, and on the internal side with the lining 6, 6.1, 6.2. As a rule, the external lining 4, 4.1 is more resistant to weathering than the window frame 5 and the internal linings 6, 6.1, 6.2. The external and internal linings can also be selected according to the desired visual appearance of the window profile. If necessary, a non-combustible (made of any material) or special insulating external or internal linings, or both, can be selected.
The windows made according to the proposed invention have the technical improvement in that all the external and internal surfaces of the basic window frame 5 are protected by the linings 4, 4.1, 6, 6.1, 6.2, which can be made of different materials with different features.
A very important feature of the proposed invention is that the external linings 4, 4.1 and the internal linings 6, 6.1, 6.2 may be arbitrarily combined according to the wishes and/or needs of the customer, while the supporting section of the window frame 5 remains unchanged or standard.
In this way, we enable easier and especially, cheaper maintenance of the external linings 4, 4.1 of the window frames since the linings can at any time be removed from the window frame 5 in reverse order as the one described for the assembly, and can be renewed or replaced with others, if necessary.
The external linings 4, 4.1 or the internal linings 6, 6.1, 6.2 can also be made of polymers or metal depending on the intended use of the window. The main advantage of the proposed invention lies in the the possibility of the mass production of window frames 5 on which we can attach different external linings 4, 4.1 and internal linings 6, 6.1, 6.2, thus enabling a wide range of different windows with the same central - supporting part - of the frame 5.
In this way, we can considerably lower the production cost of the windows because the same intermediate product is used as the basic part 5.
The marketable advantage is that the end product, produced according to the proposed invention can at any time be visually modified by installing different external linings 4, 4.1 and different internal linings 6, 6.1, 6.2 on the supporting frame of window 5. Perhaps even more importantly, the resulting window service life is extended and the maintenance of the window frames is made easier and cheaper.
All the linkages between the window frames 5 and the linings 4, 4.1, 6, 6.1, 6.2 are sufficiently rigid that they cannot be unhinged or removed by strong winds or other meteorological effects.
The lifespan of such window frames is virtually unlimited, as the worn external linings 4, 4.1 may be easily replaced at any time. All other elements are not burdened by environmental impacts and therefore are not subject to aging and aging and degradation.
