- the core network queries the routing information of the set top box according to the call instruction.
- the core network can find the routing information of the called set top box according to the account. It can be understood that the account of the called set top box must be an account supported by the core network. In this embodiment, the account number of the called set top box can be directly provided by the operator. Preferably, the operation of querying routing information can be done by a call control module in the core network.
- the core network sends a call instruction to the called set top box according to the routing information.
- the signaling gateway is an interconnection and interworking device connecting the No. 7 signaling network and the IP network, and is used for implementing the interworking between the No. 7 signaling network and the IP network, and mainly completing the No. 7 signaling and IP on the PSTN/ISDN side. Side signaling conversion function.
- S308 A response message transmitted by the core network receiver top box, and sending a response message to the calling end.
- the set-top box After the set-top box receives the call instruction, if the user agrees to communicate, the set-top box will return a response message to the calling end. Of course, the response message should be forwarded through the core network.
- the response message includes the first parameter information of the set top box, and the set top box sends the first parameter information in the response message to the calling end because the calling end needs to know to communicate with it during the subsequent establishment of the communication link.
- the information about the set-top box can be used to establish a communication link.
- the first parameter information includes port information used by the set top box in the subsequent communication process, the media gateway IP, and the encoding format of the media data used by the set top box.
- the core network assists communication between the calling end and the set top box.
- the calling end can parse the first parameter information of the set top box from the response message, and the set top box and the calling end respectively establish a communication link between the two according to the second parameter information and the first parameter information.
- the communication link will pass through the media gateway in the core network, so the core network needs further assistance in the subsequent communication between the set top box and the calling end.
- the media gateway in the core network can send the second media data from the calling end to the set top box, and the second media number According to the image information or audio information collected by the calling party. Similarly, the media gateway can also send the first media data sent by the set top box to the calling end, and the user at the calling end obtains the user information on the set top box side.
- both the transmission and response messages of the call instruction can be transmitted using the instruction transport layer.
- the instruction transport layer may be any protocol layer below the application layer, and may also be a SIP protocol layer in the application layer.
- the call command and the response message are transmitted using the SIP protocol. Because the standard SIP protocol can be used to reduce the cost of docking and improve the user experience.

- the set top box 50 It is possible to implement a call to another terminal device or a set top box, that is, the set top box 50 can implement a calling function.
- the set top box calling method provided in the first embodiment can be applied to the set top box 50 in this embodiment.
- the first instruction sending module 502 in the set top box can transmit the call instruction to the core network through the instruction transport layer.
- the instruction transport layer may be any protocol layer under the application layer, and may also be a SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) protocol layer in the application layer.
- SIP Session Initiation Protocol
- the protocols used in the OTT communication mode are all self-developed by the OTT vendors, and are basically private protocols. Therefore, in large-scale applications, high-cost problems may occur in the inter-factory signaling docking. - the call instruction including the first parameter information and the called end account may be transmitted to the core network, and the command is sent by the core network to the called end;
- the set top box can receive the response message returned by the called end from the core network and parse the response message, thereby obtaining the second parameter information of the called end; and then the set top box establishes a communication chain via the core network with the called end according to the second parameter information.
- the road finally communicates with the called end through the communication link.
