Definitions

  • the present disclosure relates to a control device for an internal combustion engine.
  • Patent Document 1 a control device that performs combustion control of an internal combustion engine based on an output signal of a crank angle sensor that detects a rotational angle position of a crankshaft of the internal combustion engine is known. Specifically, this control device calculates a fluctuation value of the rotational speed of the crankshaft based on the output signal of the crank angle sensor, and performs air-fuel ratio control so that the calculated fluctuation value approaches the stability target value.
  • the reason why the fluctuation value of the rotational speed is used in this control device is that the fluctuation value of the rotational speed is correlated with the combustion state in the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine.
  • the fluctuation value of the rotational speed of the crankshaft is easily affected by factors that have a low correlation with the combustion state in the combustion chamber, such as variations in the amount of intake air supplied to the combustion chamber. For this reason, it is not possible to accurately estimate the combustion state in the combustion chamber with the fluctuation value of the rotational speed.
  • This disclosure mainly aims to provide a control device for an internal combustion engine that can improve the estimation accuracy of the combustion state in the combustion chamber.
  • the present disclosure is applied to a system including a rotation detector that outputs a rotation signal at every predetermined angle of an output shaft of an internal combustion engine, and calculates a rotation speed of the output shaft based on the output signal of the rotation detector.
