Definitions
- the invention pertains to the field of mechanics and specifically to the field of mechanical locks of houses' reinforced doors.
- a solution to this problem is to fit "barriers" on the fixed frame and at the height of the slanted tongue, so that any flexible material not to be able easily to enter between the frame and the leaf of the frame, which may pressure the slanted surface of the tongue and push it backwards.
- the invention suggests the change of the tongue shape and the removal of the slanted surface.
- the invention is an automatic locking mechanism consisting of 1) a pin mechanism and 2) a lever-switch mechanism.
- the pin mechanism has, instead of a tongue, a cylindrical or rectangle pin without any slanted surface and the lever - switch with a slanted surface is under the pin mechanism, regulating the exit of the pin from the lock.
- the invention functions as follows:
- the fixed frame pressures the lever-switch with a slanted surface, which enters the lock and with the help of levers and springs releases the cylindrical or rectangular pin mechanism.
- the pin mechanism enters a relative shape groove inside the fixed frame and the door locks by simply closing it, without the need of locking the door and the other locking points, because due to the fact that the pin does not have a slanted surface, it is not possible to be violated by thin flexible material.
- the lever-switch remains pressed on the fixed door frame as long as the door is closed.
- the invention when the door opens, either by a key from outside or inside or by the handle only from inside, the invention functions as follows: A lever fitted on the lock body repositions the pin mechanism of the lock inside the lock body. The pin mechanism is hooked and immobilized inside the lock and thus the door may open, whereas the lever-switch that is no longer pressed on the fixed door frame returns to its original position outside the lock body and ready again, as soon as pressure is applied thereon, to release again the pin mechanism.
- the invention solves the problem of easy door violation due to the lock that has a tongue with a slanted surface.
- the advantages of this invention is that it offers high security to all doors, reinforced or not, and it is easy to use, as no further action is required by the user but the simple closing of the door, without any further locking.
- the door is violated only by burglary methods that violate doors with locks having all the pins locked.
- the invention is an invention of low cost that may be fitted on all mechanic and electrical locks and may be fitted in all lock types.
- Drawings 1-4 illustrate the function of the mechanism when closing the door and in particular:
- Drawing 1 illustrates the door lock with the fitted automatic locking mechanism, when the door is open and the pin mechanism is hooked inside the lock, whereas the lever-switch is outside the lock.
- Drawing 2 illustrates the automatic locking mechanism when closing the door the lever-switch being pressed by the door frame enters the lock and simultaneously unhooks and releases the pin mechanism from the lock body.
- Drawing 3 illustrates the automatic locking mechanism with the pin mechanism when the door has been closed and the pin mechanism has exited the lock, whereas the door is locked. Simultaneously, the lever- switch remains pressured by the door frame.
- Drawing 4 illustrates the automatic locking mechanism with the pin mechanism, where the user locks, if he wishes, all the lock pins, without affecting the function of the automatic pin.
- Drawing 5 illustrates the automatic locking mechanism when the door is unlocked and opened from inside with the handle.
- the automatic pin enters the lock, whereas the lever-switch is not pressured any more on the door frame and exits the lock.
- Drawings 6-7 illustrate the function of the automatic locking mechanism when unlocking and dpening the door, when the door is open from inside or outside with a key. Specifically:
- Drawing 6 illustrates the pins that are unlocked by turning the key, entering the lock, pulling simultaneously the automatic pin inwards.
- Drawing 7 illustrates all the pins having completed their entrance in the lock with the automatic pin and the door is open. Simultaneously the lever-switch has exited the lock body.
- Drawings 8-9 illustrate the automatic locking mechanism when the door opens, unlocking the lock with an electric coil. Specifically:
- Drawing 8 illustrates the automatic locking mechanism when the door has been closed and the pin mechanism has exited the lock body, whereas the door is locked. Simultaneously, the lever-switch is pressured by the door frame.
- Drawing 9 illustrates the automatic locking mechanism when unlocking and opening the door, whereas the door opens with an electric coil.
- the mechanism is pulled inside the lock due to the lever, whereas the lever-switch is not pressured on the door frame and exits the lock.
- Drawings 10-13 illustrate the opening and closing of the door with the automatic locking mechanism, when there are no safety pins on the lock. Specifically:
- Drawing 10 illustrates a door lock with a fitted locking mechanism, when the door is open and the automatic pin is hooked inside the lock, whereas the lever-switch, not pressured by the door frame, is outside the lock.
- Drawing 11 illustrates the automatic locking mechanism when the door has closed and the pin mechanism has exited from the lock, whereas the door locks. Simultaneously, the lever-switch is pressured by the door frame inside the lock.
- Drawing 12 illustrates the automatic locking mechanism when the door is unlocked and opened from inside or outside with a key.
- the pin mechanism is pulled inside the lock, whereas the lever-switch is no longer pressured by the door frame and exits the lock.
- Drawing 13 illustrates the automatic locking mechanism when opening the door from inside with a handle.
- the pin mechanism is pulled inside the lock, whereas the lever-switch is no longer pressured by the door frame and exits the lock.
- Drawing 14 illustrates the accessories of the automatic locking mechanism.
- the pin mechanism (1) has a safety pin (30) of cylindrical or rectangular intersection, fitted on a trolley (5) which has at least one oblong hole (13).
- the safety pin (30) and the trolley (5) constitute the single body of the pin mechanism (1) that slides horizontally inside and outside the body of the lock, as it moves along the hole (13) having as a driver the fixed pin (14) stabilized on the lock body.
- the trolley (5) may have more oblong holes (13), so that for each one of them there is a corresponding fixed pin (14) fixed on the lock body.
- the hooking lever (4) On the trolley (5) there is a fitted hooking lever (4) with a hook (18) at the end, with a slanted outer side for the hooking of the pin mechanism (1) on the lock body, as well as unhooking.
- the hooking lever (4) is fixed loosely on the trolley (5) with a pin (14) passing through a hole (15). With the help of the pin (14), the hooking lever (4) may raise upwards and due to a stop point (32) it cannot move downwards.
- the trolley (5) has a flap (16) on the upper part.
- a motion transfer lever (8) is fitted on the lock with a pin (14) passing through a hole (17) and allows the rotating movement of the lever (8) around the pin (14).
- the motion transfer lever (8) is extended along and downwards until the flap (16) of the trolley (5).
- lever-switch (2) Under the pin mechanism (1) at a parallel position there is a lever-switch (2) which has a slanted side (tongue) (24) at one side outside the lock, whereas the other side inside the lock body has a fitted coil (11).
- the lever-switch (2) has an unhooking lever (3) loosely fixed with a pin (14) that passes through a hole (25).
- the unhooking lever (3) has a protrusion (26) on the upper part, protruding from the upper part of the lever-switch (2). With the help of the pin (14) the Unhooking pin (3) may rotate towards one direction, whereas the stop point (33) does not allow the reverse movement.
- the two accessories that is, on the one hand the pin mechanism (1) and on the other hand the lever-switch (2) are located in a parallel manner.
- the distance between the two accessories is such that the protrusion (19) of the hooking lever (4) of the pin mechanism (1) and the protrusion (26) of the lever-switch (2) meet and push each other. Due to this characteristic, the two accessories, that is, the pin mechanism (1) and the lever-switch (2) affect the movement of each other, whereas they enter and exit the lock in turn and in an opposite direction. Specifically:
- the piri mechanism (1) with the help of the torsion coil (10) exits the lock, the safety pin (30) enters the fixed frame in a groove having intersection corresponding to its' own intersection and the door is locked. Simultaneously, the lever-switch (2) remains pressed on the fixed door frame while the door is closed.
- the hooking lever (4) cannot move downwards, it is immobilized and by the protrusion (19) it meets and pressures hard the protrusion (24) of the unhooking lever (3) of the lever- switch (2). With this pressure, the unhooking lever (3) withdraws moving around the pin (14) and allows the pin mechanism (1) to enter the lock. Simultaneously, the hook (18) of the hooking lever (4) with the slanted edge meets the hooking point (31) on the lock casing (drawings 10-11), the slanted edge of the hook (18) slides on the hooking point (31), it raises and is hooked on the hooking point (31). At this position the pin mechanism (1) is immobilized inside the lock and the door opens.
- the lever-switch (2) stops being pressured by the fixed door frame, it is released and with the help of the pressure spring (11) it returns in its original position outside the body of the lock. At this position the lever-switch (2) is ready again to enter the lock as soon as pressure is exercised by the door frame, taking out simultaneously the pin mechanism (1) outside the lock, as described above, in order to close the door.
- the hooking point (31) inside the lock where the hook (18) of the hooking lever (4) is hooked and the pin mechanism (1) is immobilized is on the movable part of the lock and more particularly on the platform (6) where the other pins of the safety lock are fixed (Drawings 1-4, 8-9 and 14).
- the two accessories that is, the pin mechanism (1) and the lever-switch (2) enter and exit the body of the lock in turn and in opposite directions.
- the pin mechanism (1) may function so that the door opens with an electric coil (13) with the help of a lever (12). More particularly, as illustrated in drawings 8 and 9, the pin mechanism (1) has at the posterior and upper part of the trolley (5) a groove (20). A lever (12) is loosely fixed on the lock with a pin (14) through a hole (21); its' one end (22) is fitted in the groove (20) of the trolley (5) and its' other end (23) is stabilized on the electrical coil (13). When the pin mechanism (1) is locked, as soon as the electric coil (13) pulls the lever (12) upwards, the lever (12) with its' end (22) fitted in the groove (20) of the trolley (5) pulls the pin mechanism (1) inside the lock and the dobr opens.
- the automatic locking mechanism functions exactly in the same way when the lock does not have further safety pins.
- the hooking point (31) on which the hook (18) of the hooking lever (4) is hooked and the pin mechanism (1) is immobilized is on the cell of the lock.
- the lever (8) that transfers the movement from the door handle (7) to the pin mechanism (1) by pushing the flap (16) of the trolley (5) there is a lever (29) that is fixed with a pin (27) through a hole (28) at the base of the lock.
- the lever (29) pressured by the lock mill (9) rotates around the pin (27) and pressures the motion transfer lever (8) that pressures with its turn the pin mechanism (1) on the flap (16) and thus the pin mechanism (1) enters the lock body.
- the hooking lever (4) and the unhooking lever (3) rotate and return to their original position due to gravity.
- the return of the two levers may happen with the help of springs.
- the lever-switch (2) may be fixed in a parallel position above the pin mechanism (1) without changing the way of function of this invention.
- the safety pin (30) may be cylindrical or rectangular or of any other section, always without any slanted side.
- This invention may be used as an automatic locking mechanism and be adapted to any type df door lock.
