Abstract

本発明は、パターンの低視認性を向上できる機能性細線パターン及び機能性細線パターンの製造方法を提供することを課題とし、基材1上に、機能性材料を含む閉じられた幾何学図形細線31を、隣り合う幾何学図形細線31同士が互いに複数の交点で接続されるように、二次元的に複数並設してなる複数のパターン部3と、隣り合うパターン部3間に設けられた間隙部4と、により構成され、幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチを複数のパターン部3に渡って保持するように間隙部4が設けられていることで解決される。

Description

機能性細線パターン及び機能性細線パターンの製造方法
 本発明は、機能性細線パターン及び機能性細線パターンの製造方法に関し、より詳しくは、パターンの低視認性を向上できる機能性細線パターン及び機能性細線パターンの製造方法に関する。
 特許文献1~3には、基材上に付与された導電性材料を含有する液滴を乾燥する際に、コーヒーステイン現象を利用して、該液滴の周縁部に選択的に導電性材料を堆積させる技術が開示されている。特許文献1は、液滴をドット状に付与することにより、該液滴の周縁部にリング状の導電性細線を形成している。また、特許文献2、3は、液滴を線状に付与することにより、該液滴の周縁部に直線状の導電性細線を形成している。

 しかしながら、従来の技術には、導電性細線により構成されるパターンの低視認性(視認されにくい性質)を向上する観点で、更なる改善の余地が見出された。
 導電性細線の場合に限らず、種々の機能性細線により構成されるパターンの低視認性を向上することができれば、視覚的な違和感が軽減ないし解消されたパターンを得ることができる。
 そこで本発明の課題は、パターンの低視認性を向上できる機能性細線パターン及び機能性細線パターンの製造方法を提供することにある。
 また本発明の他の課題は、以下の記載によって明らかとなる。
 上記課題は、以下の各発明によって解決される。

 基材上に、機能性材料を含む閉じられた幾何学図形細線を、隣り合う前記幾何学図形細線同士が互いに複数の交点で接続されるように、二次元的に複数並設してなる複数のパターン部と、
 隣り合う前記パターン部間に設けられた間隙部と、により構成され、
 前記幾何学図形細線の配置ピッチを複数の前記パターン部に渡って保持するように前記間隙部が設けられている機能性細線パターン。

 前記間隙部の幅が、前記配置ピッチよりも狭い前記1記載の機能性細線パターン。

 少なくとも一組の前記第1機能性細線パターン前駆体と前記第2機能性細線パターン前駆体において、前記第1機能性細線パターン前駆体の前記外側細線と、前記第2機能性細線パターン前駆体の前記外側細線とが接続され、且つ前記第1機能性細線パターン前駆体の前記内側細線と、前記第2機能性細線パターン前駆体の前記内側細線とが接続されないように、前記第1機能性細線パターン前駆体及び前記第2機能性細線パターン前駆体を形成し、

 以下に、本発明を実施するための形態について説明する。
 本発明の機能性細線パターンは、基材上に、機能性材料を含む閉じられた幾何学図形細線を複数組み合わせてなる複数のパターン部と、隣り合う前記パターン部間に設けられた間隙部と、により構成される。前記パターン部は、前記幾何学図形細線を、二次元的に複数並設して構成することができる。このとき、隣り合う前記幾何学図形細線同士が互いに複数の交点で接続されるように、前記幾何学図形細線を形成することができる。
 本発明は、前記幾何学図形細線の配置ピッチを複数の前記パターン部に渡って保持するように前記間隙部が設けられていることを一つの特徴とする。
 これにより、パターンの低視認性を向上できる効果が得られる。
 以下に、図1~図3を参照して、機能性細線パターンをタッチパネルセンサーに用いる場合を例に挙げて、本発明について更に詳しく説明する。
 図1~図3は、本発明の機能性細線パターンの第1態様を概念的に説明する図である。
 ここでは、基材1の両面に機能性細線パターン2が設けられており、図1~図3は、何れも基材1を同じ側(表面側)から平面視した様子を示している。図1(a)は基材1の表面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2のみを、図1(b)は基材1の裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2のみを基材1を透視して見た様子を、図3は基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2が重なった状態を、それぞれ示している。図2は、図1(a)における破線で囲まれた領域Aを拡大した様子を示す要部拡大図である。
 図1(a)に示すように、機能性細線パターン2は、基材1上に設けられた複数のパターン部3と、隣り合うパターン部3間に設けられた間隙部4とにより構成されている。
 各々のパターン部3は、基材1上に、機能性材料を含む閉じられた幾何学図形細線31を、隣り合う前記幾何学図形細線31同士が互いに接続されるように、二次元的に所定ピッチで複数並設して構成されている。図示するように、パターン部3において、隣り合う幾何学図形細線31同士は、互いに複数の交点で接続されていることが好ましい。また、X方向に隣り合う幾何学図形細線31同士が互いに接続されると共に、Y方向に隣り合う幾何学図形細線31同士も互いに接続されることが好ましい。
 閉じられた幾何学図形細線31は、始点と終点が一致した幾何学図形を、機能性材料を含む細線によって形成したものである。図示の例では、閉じられた幾何学図形細線31として、基材1の長手方向(図示の例ではX方向)に対して各辺が傾斜した四角形である四角形状細線を、基材1の長手方向及び幅方向(図示の例ではY方向)のそれぞれに複数並設してパターン部3を構成している。ここでは、隣り合う幾何学図形細線31同士は、四角形の頂点を挟む両辺同士を交差させて2点の交点で接続されている。このように、隣り合う幾何学図形細線31同士が互いに複数(図示の例では2点)の交点で接続されることによって、機能性材料によって付与される機能を、互いに接続された幾何学図形細線31全体で、好適に発揮できるようになる。特に機能性材料として導電性材料を用いる場合には、幾何学図形細線31同士の電気的接続が確実なものとなり、パターン部3を低抵抗化することができる。
 各々のパターン部3は、X方向及びY方向のそれぞれに複数の幾何学図形細線31を配置して構成され、全体としてX方向に延びる帯状に設けられている。
 各々のパターン部3は、X方向に延びる帯状の間隙部4によってY方向に互いに隔離され、独立した島状に設けられている。間隙部4は、例えば、機能性材料として導電性材料を用いる場合には、パターン部3間を絶縁する絶縁部を構成し得る。
 機能性細線パターン2は、幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチを複数のパターン部3に渡って保持するように間隙部4が設けられていることを一つの特徴とする。
 「幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチを複数のパターン部3に渡って保持する」というのは、複数のパターン部3に渡る方向(即ち、複数のパターン部3が並設される方向であって、図示の例ではY方向)において、一つのパターン部3を構成する幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチが、他のパターン部3を構成する幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチと同じであると共に、これら配置ピッチの位相も同じであることを意味する。言い換えれば、複数のパターン部3に渡る方向(図示の例ではY方向)に向けて、一つのパターン部3を構成する幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチで仮想的な目盛りSを延設した際に、他のパターン部3を構成する幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチが、目盛りSと一致することを意味する。
 このとき、複数のパターン部3を構成する全ての幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチ及び位相が同じである必要はなく、一部の領域で配置ピッチ及び位相が異なっていてもよい。本発明の効果を顕著に発揮させる観点では、各々のパターン部3を構成する幾何学図形細線31のうち半数以上の幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチ及び位相が、複数のパターン部3間で同じであることが好ましい。
 ここでは、特に図2に示すように、パターン部3を構成する幾何学図形細線31のうち、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’の形状を、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31の形状と異ならせている。即ち、図2中、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’に対して、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31の形状を破線で仮想的に重ね合わせているが、両者の形状は一致せず、異なるものになっている。その結果、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’の配置ピッチ及び位相は、パターン部3の内部に配置される幾何学図形細線31(即ち間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31)の配置ピッチ及び位相と若干異なるが、パターン部3の内部に配置される幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチ及び位相が複数のパターン部3間で同じであることによって、本発明の効果を顕著に発揮することができる。
 図2に示したように、パターン部3を構成する幾何学図形細線31のうち、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’の形状を、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31の形状と異ならせることは好ましいことである。ここでは、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’のY方向の幅を、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31のY方向の幅よりも小さくすることによって、幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチを複数のパターン部3に渡って保持するように間隙部4を形成している。
 間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’の幅を小さくせずに、例えばX方向に沿う1列又は複数列の幾何学図形細線31を設けない(省略するともいう)ことによっても、間隙部4を形成することができる。しかし、この場合は、間隙部4の幅を、省略される幾何学図形細線31の幅に対応する飛び飛びの値にしか設定できない。また、幾何学図形細線31のY方向の配置ピッチよりも狭い幅の間隙部4を形成することが困難である。
 これに対して、上述したように、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’のY方向の幅を小さくすることによって間隙部4を形成する場合は、該幾何学図形細線31’のY方向の幅の設定によって、間隙部4の幅を細かく自在に設定できる効果が得られる。また、幾何学図形細線31のY方向の配置ピッチよりも狭い幅の間隙部4を好適に形成できる効果も得られる。間隙部4の幅というのは、間隙部4の全体としての形成方向(図示の例ではX方向)に対して直交する方向(図示の例ではY方向)の幅が最小になる部位における幅である。
 図1(b)に示すように、基材1の裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2は、X方向及びY方向の関係が逆であること以外は基本的に基材1の表面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2と同様の構成を備えており、表面についてした説明を援用できる。
 基材1の裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2もまた、幾何学図形細線31を配置するピッチを複数のパターン部3に渡って保持するように間隙部4が設けられている。
 即ち、複数のパターン部3に渡る方向(図示の例ではX方向)において、一つのパターン部3を構成する幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチが、他のパターン部3を構成する幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチと同じであると共に、これら配置ピッチの位相も同じである。言い換えれば、複数のパターン部3に渡る方向(図示の例ではX方向)に向けて、一つのパターン部3を構成する幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチで仮想的な目盛りSを延設した際に、他のパターン部3を構成する幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチが、目盛りSと一致する。
 ここでは、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’のX方向の幅が、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31のX方向の幅よりも小さいことによって、間隙部4に相当する間隙が形成されている。
 ここでは、基材1の表面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2と、裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2とで、幾何学図形細線31のX方向の配置ピッチが同じであり、且つ幾何学図形細線31のY方向の配置ピッチも同じである。
 上述したように、幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチを複数のパターン部3に渡って保持するように間隙部4が設けられていることによって、図3に示すように、基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2が重なった状態において、パターンの低視認性を向上できる効果が得られる。
 本発明について、参考例との対比で更に詳しく説明する
 図19及び図20は、参考例の機能性細線パターンを概念的に説明する図である。
 ここでは、基材101の両面に機能性細線パターン102が設けられており、図19及び図20は、何れも基材101を同じ側(表面側)から平面視した様子を示している。図19(a)は基材101の表面に設けられた機能性細線パターン102のみを、図19(b)は基材101の裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン102のみを基材101を透視して見た様子を、図20は基材101の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン102、102が重なった状態を、それぞれ示している。
 図19及び図20に示す参考例の機能性細線パターン102では、間隙部104が設けられていることによって、幾何学図形細線131の配置ピッチが複数のパターン部103に渡って保持されなくなっている。即ち、一つのパターン部103内だけで見た場合に、幾何学図形細線131の配置ピッチは同じであるが、間隙部104が介在することによって、他のパターン部103を構成する幾何学図形細線131の配置ピッチとは位相が異なっており、複数のパターン部103に渡って配置ピッチが保持されていない。
 言い換えれば、図19(a)に示すように、基材101の表面において、複数のパターン部103に渡る方向(図示の例ではY方向)に向けて、一つのパターン部103を構成する幾何学図形細線131の配置ピッチで仮想的な目盛りSを延設した際に、他のパターン部103を構成する幾何学図形細線131の配置ピッチが、目盛りSと一致しない。同様に、図19(b)に示すように、基材101の裏面において、複数のパターン部103に渡る方向(図示の例ではX方向)に向けて、一つのパターン部103を構成する幾何学図形細線131の配置ピッチで仮想的な目盛りSを延設した際に、他のパターン部103を構成する幾何学図形細線131の配置ピッチが、目盛りSと一致しない。
 その結果、参考例の機能性細線パターン102、102は、図20に示すように、基材101の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン102、102の細線間の間隔が部位ごとに大きく異なっており、各部位を視覚的に認識することが容易であり、パターンの低視認性が得られ難いことがわかる。
 これに対して、本発明によれば、図3に示したように、基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2の細線間の間隔が部位によらず均一であり、各部位を視覚的に認識することが困難であり、パターンの低視認性が向上することがわかる。
 図3の例において、基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2間で、幾何学図形細線31のX方向の配置ピッチを半ピッチずらして重ね合わせているが、これに限定されるものではない。例えば、基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2間で、幾何学図形細線31のY方向の配置ピッチを半ピッチずらしてもよいし、X方向及びY方向の配置ピッチを半ピッチずらしてもよい。配置ピッチをずらして重ね合わせる場合は、半ピッチに限定されず、任意の所定量ずらすことができる。また、配置ピッチをずらさずに重ね合わせてもよい。
 パターン部3は、機能性材料として導電性材料を用いることにより、透明導電膜として好適に用いることができる。透明導電膜が「透明」であるというのは、幾何学図形細線31が設けられていない部分を介して、パターン部3を光が透過可能であることを意味する。従って、導電性材料自体が透明である必要はなく、透明でない導電性材料であっても好適に用いることができる。 
 パターン部3からなる透明導電膜は、例えば、タッチパネルセンサーにおける位置検出電極として好適に用いることができる。図1及び図3の例では、基材1の表面に形成されたパターン部3をY方向の位置を検出するためのY電極として用いることができ、基材1の裏面に形成されたパターン部3をX方向の位置を検出するためのX電極として用いることができる。これらパターン部3は、基材1の各面に設けられた引出し配線5によって、図示しない制御回路に接続することができる。
 以上に説明した態様では、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’の幅を小さくする方法として、該幾何学図形細線31’の形状を所定方向、具体的には複数のパターン部3の並設方向に圧縮している。このように幾何学図形細線31’の形状を圧縮する場合は、1つの幾何学図形細線31’全体を均等に圧縮してもよいし、1つの幾何学図形細線31’を部分的に、不均等に圧縮してもよい。上述した第1態様のように、幾何学図形を多角形にする場合は、間隙部4側に配置される辺を選択的に圧縮することが好ましい。例えば、幾何学図形の一つの頂点を間隙部4に向けて配置する場合は、該頂点を挟む2辺を圧縮することが好ましい。
 以上の説明では、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’の幅を小さくする方法として、該幾何学図形細線31’の形状を所定方向に圧縮する場合について示したが、これに限定されるものではない。例えば、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’の形状を、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31の形状よりも幅が小さい全く異なる形状にしてもよい。以下に、図4及び図5を参照して、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’の形状を、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31の形状よりも幅が小さい全く異なる形状にする場合の一例について説明する。
 図4及び図5は、本発明の機能性細線パターンの第1態様の他の例を概念的に説明する図である。図4及び図5において図1及び図3と同符号は同構成であり、図1及び図3を参照してした説明を援用することができる。
 ここでは、基材1の両面に機能性細線パターン2が設けられており、図4及び図5は、何れも基材1を同じ側(表面側)から平面視した様子を示している。図4(a)は基材1の表面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2のみを、図4(b)は基材1の裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2のみを基材1を透視して見た様子を、図5は基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2が重なった状態を、それぞれ示している。
 この例では、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31の形状は図1及び図3の例と同様に四角形状である。一方、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’の形状は五角形状である。ここでは、幾何学図形細線31’に付与されている五角形状は、幾何学図形細線31に付与されている四角形状を構成する4つの頂点のうち間隙部4側に配向される頂点を切り落とした形状に対応している。その結果、幾何学図形細線31’の形状は、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31の形状よりも幅が小さい全く異なる形状になっている。
 この例のように、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31の形状を多角形状にする場合は、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’に付与する形状として、幾何学図形細線31に付与されている多角形状を構成する複数の頂点のうち間隙部4側に配向される1又は2以上の頂点を切り落とした形状を付与することができる。これにより、幾何学図形細線31’の形状を、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31の形状よりも幅が小さい全く異なる形状にすることができる。
 ここでも、図4(a)に示すように、基材1の表面の機能性細線パターン2において、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’のY方向の幅が、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31のY方向の幅よりも小さいことによって、間隙部4が形成されている。
 同様に、図4(b)に示すように、基材1の裏面の機能性細線パターン2において、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’のX方向の幅が、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31のX方向の幅よりも小さいことによって、間隙部4が形成されている。
 このようにして、幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチを複数のパターン部3に渡って保持するように間隙部4が設けられていることによって、図5に示すように、基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2が重なった状態において、パターンの低視認性を向上できる効果が得られる。
 上述した第1態様では、基材1の表面及び裏面のそれぞれにおいて、機能性細線パターン2を構成する幾何学図形細線31のY方向の配置ピッチを、X方向の配置ピッチと同じ値に設定しているが、これに限定されるものではない。例えば、以下に図6を参照して説明する第2態様のように、基材1の表面及び裏面のそれぞれにおいて、機能性細線パターン2を構成する幾何学図形細線31のY方向の配置ピッチを、X方向の配置ピッチと異なる値に設定してもよい。
 図6及び図7は、本発明の機能性細線パターンの第2態様を概念的に説明する図である。図6及び図7において図1及び図3と同符号は同構成であり、図1及び図3を参照してした説明を援用することができる。
 ここでは、基材1の両面に機能性細線パターン2が設けられており、図6及び図7は、何れも基材1を同じ側(表面側)から平面視した様子を示している。図6(a)は基材1の表面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2のみを、図6(b)は基材1の裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2のみを基材1を透視して見た様子を、図7は基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2が重なった状態を、それぞれ示している。
 本態様では、機能性細線パターン2を構成する幾何学図形細線31の形状として菱形を用いている。基材1の表面及び裏面のそれぞれにおいて、菱形からなる幾何学図形細線31のY方向の幅は、X方向の幅よりも大きく設けられており、Y方向の配置ピッチは、X方向の配置ピッチよりも大きく設定されている。このように、Y方向の配置ピッチをX方向の配置ピッチと異ならせる場合は、幾何学図形細線31のY方向の幅をX方向の幅と異ならせることが好ましい。
 ここでも、図6(a)に示すように、基材1の表面の機能性細線パターン2において、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’のY方向の幅が、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31のY方向の幅よりも小さいことによって、間隙部4が形成されている。
 同様に、図6(b)に示すように、基材1の裏面の機能性細線パターン2において、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’のX方向の幅が、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31のX方向の幅よりも小さいことによって、間隙部4が形成されている。
 このようにして、幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチを複数のパターン部3に渡って保持するように間隙部4が設けられていることによって、図7に示すように、基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2が重なった状態において、パターンの低視認性を向上できる効果が得られる。
 上述した第1態様及び第2態様では、幾何学図形細線31が四角形である場合について主に示したが、これに限定されるものではない。幾何学図形細線31は、四角形以外の多角形、例えば三角形、六角形、八角形等であってもよい。以下に、図8及び図9を参照して、第3態様として、幾何学図形細線31が六角形である場合の例について説明する。
 図8及び図9は、本発明の機能性細線パターンの第3態様を概念的に説明する図である。図8及び図9において図1及び図3と同符号は同構成であり、図1及び図3を参照してした説明を援用することができる。
 ここでは、基材1の両面に機能性細線パターン2が設けられており、図8及び図9は、何れも基材1を同じ側(表面側)から平面視した様子を示している。図8(a)は基材1の表面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2のみを、図8(b)は基材1の裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2のみを基材1を透視して見た様子を、図9は基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2が重なった状態を、それぞれ示している。
 本態様では、機能性細線パターン2を構成する幾何学図形細線31の形状として六角形を用いている。ここでは、隣り合う幾何学図形細線31同士は、六角形の頂点を挟む両辺同士を交差させて2点の交点で接続されている。
 図8(a)に示すように、基材1の表面の機能性細線パターン2において、Y方向の幾何学図形細線31の列は、X方向に隣り合う列に対して、Y方向の配置ピッチが半ピッチずれている。これにより、幾何学図形細線31は千鳥状に配置されている。
 図8(b)に示すように、基材1の裏面の機能性細線パターン2においても、Y方向の幾何学図形細線31の列は、X方向に隣り合う列に対して、Y方向の配置ピッチが半ピッチずれている。これにより、幾何学図形細線31は千鳥状に配置されている。
 ここでも、図8(a)に示すように、基材1の表面の機能性細線パターン2において、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’のY方向の幅が、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31のY方向の幅よりも小さいことによって、間隙部4に相当する間隙が形成されている。
 同様に、図8(b)に示すように、基材1の裏面の機能性細線パターン2において、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’のX方向の幅が、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31のX方向の幅よりも小さいことによって、間隙部4に相当する間隙が形成されている。
 このようにして、幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチを複数のパターン部3に渡って保持するように間隙部4が設けられていることによって、図9に示すように、基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2が重なった状態において、パターンの低視認性を向上できる効果が得られる。
 上述した第1態様~第3態様では、幾何学図形細線31が多角形である場合について主に示したが、これに限定されるものではない。幾何学図形細線31は、例えば円形や楕円形などのように曲線要素を含むものであってもよい。以下に、図10及び図11を参照して、第4態様として、幾何学図形細線31が円形である場合の例について説明する。
 図10及び図11は、本発明の機能性細線パターンの第4態様を概念的に説明する図である。図10及び図11において図1及び図3と同符号は同構成であり、図1及び図3を参照してした説明を援用することができる。
 ここでは、基材1の両面に機能性細線パターン2が設けられており、図10及び図11は、何れも基材1を同じ側(表面側)から平面視した様子を示している。図10(a)は基材1の表面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2のみを、図10(b)は基材1の裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2のみを基材1を透視して見た様子を、図11は基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2が重なった状態を、それぞれ示している。
 本態様では、機能性細線パターン2を構成する幾何学図形細線31の形状として円形を用いている。ここでは、隣り合う幾何学図形細線31同士は、円形の円周同士を交差させて2点の交点で接続されている。
 ここでも、図10(a)に示すように、基材1の表面の機能性細線パターン2において、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’のY方向の幅が、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31のY方向の幅よりも小さいことによって、間隙部4に相当する間隙が形成されている。
 同様に、図10(b)に示すように、基材1の裏面の機能性細線パターン2において、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’のX方向の幅が、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31のX方向の幅よりも小さいことによって、間隙部4に相当する間隙が形成されている。
 このようにして、幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチを複数のパターン部3に渡って保持するように間隙部4が設けられていることによって、図11に示すように、基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2が重なった状態において、パターンの低視認性を向上できる効果が得られる。
 以上に説明したように基材1の両面に機能性細線パターン2、2を設ける場合は、1枚の基材1の両面に順次又は同時に機能性細線パターン2、2を形成してもよいし、機能性細線パターン2が形成された第1基材と、機能性細線パターン2が形成された第2基材とを張り合わせてもよい。後者の場合、基材1は、第1基材と第2基材の積層体により構成され得る。
 以上の説明では、基材の両面に機能性細線パターンを設ける場合について主に示したが、これに限定されるものではない。基材の何れか一方の面に機能性細線パターンを設けることも好ましいことである。基材の何れか一方の面に機能性細線パターンを設ける場合においても、低視認性を向上できる効果が得られる。
 即ち、本発明の機能性細線パターンは、幾何学図形細線の配置ピッチを複数のパターン部に渡って保持するように間隙部が設けられていることによって、例えば、該機能性細線パターンをデバイスに組み込んだ際に、機能性細線パターンと、デバイスの素子アレイ(例えば画素アレイ)との間でモアレが発生することを防止することができ、低視認性を向上できる。この効果は、基材の両面に機能性細線パターンを設ける場合だけでなく、何れか一方の面に機能性細線パターンを設ける場合においても好適に発揮される。
 上述した機能性細線パターンとデバイスの素子アレイとの間のモアレを更に防止する観点では、幾何学図形細線31が、X方向に沿う直線成分及びY方向に沿う直線成分を含まないことが好ましい。
 例えば、上述した第3態様では、幾何学図形細線31を構成する多角形(ここでは六角形)の辺の一部を、Y方向に沿うように配置している。即ち、幾何学図形細線31が、Y方向に沿う直線成分を含んでいる。
 これに対して、上述した第1態様、第2態様及び第4態様では、幾何学図形細線31が、X方向に沿う直線成分及びY方向に沿う直線成分を含まない。そのため、第3態様と比較して、機能性細線パターンとデバイスの素子アレイとの間のモアレを更に防止する効果が得られる。
 次に、機能性細線パターンに付与される好ましい寸法の例について説明する。
 幾何学図形細線31の幅は、X方向及びY方向のそれぞれにおいて、0.1mm~5mmの範囲であることが好ましく、0.5mm~3mmの範囲であることが更に好ましい。なお、上述したように間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’の幅を小さくする場合は、上記の好ましい範囲よりも小さい幅を付与することも好ましい。
 隣り合うパターン部3間に設けられる間隙部4の幅は、5μm~300μmの範囲であることが好ましく、20μm~150μmの範囲であることが更に好ましい。
 間隙部4がX方向に延設される場合、該間隙部4の幅(Y方向の幅)は、幾何学図形細線31のY方向の幅よりも小さいことが好ましく、幾何学図形細線31のY方向の幅の半分以下であることが更に好ましい。また、間隙部4がY方向に延設される場合、該間隙部4の幅(X方向の幅)は、幾何学図形細線31のX方向の幅よりも小さいことが好ましく、幾何学図形細線31のX方向の幅の半分以下であることが更に好ましい。ここでいう幾何学図形細線31の幅は、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31の幅である。
 パターン部3がX方向に延設される場合、該パターン部3内においてX方向に並設される幾何学図形細線31の数は格別限定されない。一方、該パターン部3内においてX方向に並設される幾何学図形細線31の数は格別限定されないが、2以上であることが好ましく、3以上であることが更に好ましい。また、パターン部3がY方向に延設される場合、該パターン部3内においてY方向に並設される幾何学図形細線31の数は格別限定されない。一方、該パターン部3内においてY方向に並設される幾何学図形細線31の数は格別限定されないが、2以上であることが好ましく、3以上であることが更に好ましい。
 以上の説明では、間隙部4を挟む両側のパターン部3、3のそれぞれにおいて、該間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’、31’の幅を小さくする場合について示したが、これに限定されない。例えば、間隙部4を挟む両側のパターン部3、3のうち一方のパターン部3において、該間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’の幅を小さくするようにしてもよい。このとき、他方のパターン部3において、該間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’の幅は、該間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31の幅と同じにすることができる。あるいは、間隙部4を挟む両側のパターン部3、3において、該間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’、31’の幅を互いに異なる値で小さくするようにしてもよい。
 機能性細線パターンが設けられる基材は格別限定されないが、ガラス、プラスチック(ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリブチレンテレフタレート、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、アクリル、ポリエステル、ポリアミド等)、金属(銅、ニッケル、アルミ、鉄等や、あるいは合金)、セラミックなどを挙げることができ、これらは単独で用いてもよいし、貼り合せた状態で用いてもよい。中でも、プラスチックが好ましく、ポリエチレンテレフタレートや、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレンのようなポリオレフィンなどが好適である。本発明の効果を顕著に発揮する観点で、基材として透明基材を用いることは特に好ましいことである。
 機能性細線パターンの幾何学図形細線を構成する機能性材料は、基材に特定の機能を付与するための材料であれば格別限定されない。特定の機能を付与するとは、例えば、導電性材料を用いて基材に導電性を付与することや、絶縁性材料を用いて基材に絶縁性を付与することをいう。機能性材料は、該機能性材料が付与される基材表面を構成する材料とは異なる材料であることが好ましい。機能性材料として、例えば導電性材料、絶縁性材料、半導体材料、光学フィルター材料、誘電体材料等を好ましく例示できる。特に機能性材料は導電性材料または導電性材料前駆体であることが好ましい。導電性材料前駆体は、適宜処理を施すことによって導電性材料に変化させることができるものを指す。
 導電性材料としては、例えば、導電性微粒子、導電性ポリマー等を好ましく例示できる。
 導電性微粒子としては格別限定されないが、Au、Pt、Ag、Cu、Ni、Cr、Rh、Pd、Zn、Co、Mo、Ru、W、Os、Ir、Fe、Mn、Ge、Sn、Ga、In等の微粒子を好ましく例示でき、中でも、Au、Ag、Cuのような金属微粒子を用いると、電気抵抗が低く、且つ腐食に強い細線を形成することができるので好ましい。コスト及び安定性の観点から、Agを含む金属微粒子が最も好ましい。これらの金属微粒子の平均粒子径は、好ましくは1~100nmの範囲、より好ましくは3~50nmの範囲である。平均粒子径は、体積平均粒子径であり、マルバーン社製「ゼータサイザ1000HS」により測定することができる。
 また、導電性微粒子として、カーボン微粒子を用いることも好ましい。カーボン微粒子としては、グラファイト微粒子、カーボンナノチューブ、フラーレン等を好ましく例示できる。
 導電性ポリマーとしては格別限定されないが、π共役系導電性高分子を好ましく挙げることができる。
 π共役系導電性高分子としては、例えば、ポリチオフェン類、ポリピロール類、ポリインドール類、ポリカルバゾール類、ポリアニリン類、ポリアセチレン類、ポリフラン類、ポリパラフェニレン類、ポリパラフェニレンビニレン類、ポリパラフェニレンサルファイド類、ポリアズレン類、ポリイソチアナフテン類、ポリチアジル類等の鎖状導電性ポリマーを利用することができる。中でも、高い導電性が得られる点で、ポリチオフェン類やポリアニリン類が好ましい。ポリエチレンジオキシチオフェンであることが最も好ましい。
 導電性ポリマーは、より好ましくは、上述したπ共役系導電性高分子とポリアニオンとを含んで成ることである。こうした導電性ポリマーは、π共役系導電性高分子を形成する前駆体モノマーを、適切な酸化剤と酸化触媒と、ポリアニオンの存在下で化学酸化重合することによって容易に製造できる。
 導電性ポリマーは市販の材料も好ましく利用できる。例えば、ポリ(3,4-エチレンジオキシチオフェン)とポリスチレンスルホン酸からなる導電性ポリマー(PEDOT/PSSと略す)が、H.C.Starck社から「CLEVIOSシリーズ」として、Aldrich社から「PEDOT-PASS483095」、「PEDOT-PASS560598」として、Nagase Chemtex社から「Denatronシリーズ」として市販されている。また、ポリアニリンが、日産化学社から「ORMECONシリーズ」として市販されている。
 次に、機能性細線パターンを形成するための好ましい方法について、図12~図14を参照して詳しく説明する。ここでは、一例として、上述した第1態様に係る機能性細線パターンを形成する場合について説明する。
 まず、図12(a)に示すように、基材1上に、導電性材料を含む第1ライン状液体6によって、閉じられた幾何学図形として四角形を形成する。ここでは、基材1上に、四角形である第1ライン状液体6を基材の長手方向(図中、上下方向)及び幅方向(図中、左右方向)に所定ピッチで複数並設している。ここでは、便宜上、4つの第1ライン状液体6を図示している。
 ライン状液体6は、ここでは、機能性材料として導電性材料を含む液体によって構成されている。機能性材料を含有させる液体としては、例えば水や有機溶剤等の1種又は2種以上を組み合わせて用いることができる。有機溶剤は、格別限定されないが、例えば、1,2-ヘキサンジオール、2-メチル-2,4-ペンタンジオール、1,3-ブタンジオール、1,4-ブタンジオール、プロピレングリコールなどのアルコール類、ジエチレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノエチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノブチルエーテル、トリエチレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、ジプロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、ジプロピレングリコールモノエチルエーテルなどのエーテル類等を例示できる。
 基材1上へのライン状液体6の付与は、インクジェット法により行うことができる。具体的には、図示しない液滴吐出装置が備えるインクジェットヘッドを基材に対して相対移動させながら、インクジェットヘッドのノズルから機能性材料を含むインクを吐出し、吐出されたインク滴を基材上で合一させて、ライン状液体6を形成することができる。インクジェットヘッドの液滴吐出方式は格別限定されず、例えば、ピエゾ方式やサーマル方式などを用いることができる。インクジェット法やその他の印刷法等を用いる場合等においては、インク吐出性や塗布性等を考慮して、ライン状液体を形成するための液体中に界面活性剤など種々の添加剤を含んでもよい。
 基材1上に付与された第1ライン状液体6は、液体が付与されていない領域60を内部に包含することにより、縁として、互いに独立した内側縁61と外側縁62とを有する。
 次いで、第1ライン状液体6を乾燥させる際にコーヒーステイン現象を生起させて、第1ライン状液体6の内部流動によって、導電性材料をライン状液体6の内側縁61及び外側縁62に沿って選択的に堆積させる。
 これにより、図12(b)に示すように、内側細線30と外側細線31からなる第1細線ユニット7が形成される。第1細線ユニット7を構成する細線30、31は、四角形状に形成されている。ここで、外側細線31は、後に機能性細線パターンにおける幾何学図形細線31を構成するものであるため、同符号を付している。
 次いで、図13(a)に示すように、基材1上に、導電性材料を含む第2ライン状液体6によって、閉じられた幾何学図形として四角形を形成する。ここでは、基材1上に、四角形である第2ライン状液体6を基材の長手方向及び幅方向に所定ピッチで複数並設している。ここでは、便宜上、5つの第2ライン状液体6を図示している。
 基材1上に付与された第2ライン状液体6は、液体が付与されていない領域60を内部に包含することにより、縁として、互いに独立した内側縁61と外側縁62とを有する。
 本態様では、第2ライン状液体6を、4つの第1細線ユニット7の間に挟まれる位置に形成している。第2ライン状液体6からなる四角形の各頂点近傍は、隣接する第1細線ユニット7の外側細線31と接触するように配置されている。第2ライン状液体6からなる四角形の各頂点は、隣接する第1細線ユニット7の内側細線30と外側細線31の間の領域に配置されている。
 次いで、第2ライン状液体6を乾燥させる際にコーヒーステイン現象を生起させて、第2ライン状液体6の内部流動によって、導電性材料を第2ライン状液体6の内側縁61及び外側縁62に沿って選択的に堆積させる。
 これにより、図13(b)に示すように、内側細線30と外側細線31からなる第2細線ユニット7を形成することができる。第2細線ユニット7を構成する細線30、31は、四角形状に形成されている。
 本態様では、基材1上に、第1細線ユニット7と第2細線ユニット7を、基材1の長手方向及び幅方向に交互に形成している。第1細線ユニット7の外側細線31と第2細線ユニット7の外側細線31とは互いに接続され、第1細線ユニット7の内側細線30と、第2細線ユニット7の内側細線30とは互いに接続されないように、各細線ユニット7を形成している。内側細線30は、他の内側細線30と接続されていないだけでなく、他の外側細線31とも接続されていない。
 以上のようにして、基材1上に、外側細線31によって互いに接続された細線ユニット7からなるパターンが形成される。
 次いで、得られたパターンに通電して電解めっきを施す。このとき、外側細線31同士が互いに接続されていることにより、複数の外側細線31からなる通電経路が網目状に形成される。図示しない給電部材から該通電経路を通して通電することで、該通電経路内の外側細線31に電解めっきが施される。
 一方、内側細線30は、他の内側細線30及び外側細線31と互いに接続されておらず、各々が独立して形成されているため、上述した外側細線31のような通電経路が形成されない。給電部材と直接接触する内側細線30が存在する場合は、該内側細線30に電解めっきが施され得るが、それ以外の内側細線30には通電されず、電解めっきが施されない。給電部材を内側細線30に接触させない場合は、何れの内側細線30にも電解めっきが施されない。
 このようにして、外側細線31に対して通電経路を通して通電することで、該外側細線31に対して選択的に電解めっきを施すことができる。ここで、「選択的」というのは、少なくとも、電解めっきが施される外側細線31の本数が、電解めっきが施される内側細線30の本数よりも多いことをいう。
 このようにして、図14(a)に示すように、電解めっきが施された外側細線31の膜厚を、電解めっきが施されていない内側細線30と比較して増大させることができる。
 次いで、細線ユニット7の内側細線30を除去することによって、図14(b)に示すように、除去せず残留させる互いに接続された外側細線(幾何学図形細線)31によって、機能性細線パターン2を形成することができる。
 上述したように外側細線31に電解めっきを施して膜厚を増大させておくことにより、外側細線31は除去されにくくなり、電解めっきが施されていない内側細線30は比較的容易に除去できる効果が得られる。
 内側細線30を除去する方法は格別限定されないが、例えば、レーザー光等のようなエネルギー線を照射する方法や、化学的にエッチング処理する方法等を用いることが好ましい。
 また、細線を除去する好ましい方法として、外側細線31に電解めっきを施す際に、内側細線30をめっき液によって除去する方法を用いることもできる。この場合、めっき液として、除去対象となる内側細線30を構成する導電性材料を溶解又は分解可能なものを用いることができる。
 具体例として、まず、導電性材料として銀ナノ粒子を用いて、内側細線30及び外側細線31からなる細線ユニット7を形成する。そして、第1電解めっきとして外側細線31に選択的に銅めっき層を設け、次いで、第2電解めっきとして該銅めっき層上にニッケルめっき層を設ける。このとき、第2電解めっき(電解ニッケルめっき)のめっき液によって、第1電解めっきが施されていない銀からなる内側細線30を溶解又は分解して除去することができる。このように、外側細線31に対する電解めっきと、内側細線30の除去を同時に進行させることは好ましいことである。
 また、例えば、電解めっきのための給電を停止した後、除去対象となる内側細線30を除去するのに十分な時間、好ましくは1分~30分の時間、基材1をめっき液に浸漬させておくことも好ましいことである。
 本態様では、ライン状液体6が、液体が付与されていない領域60を内部に包含することにより、液体の付与量を削減でき、乾燥負荷を低減することができる。これにより、タクトタイムを短縮して生産効率を向上することができる。
 更に、ライン状液体6は、液体が付与されていない領域60を内部に包含することにより、液体の乾燥に伴う気化熱の総量が比較的小さくなる。そのため、乾燥に伴う基材温度の変化や不均一化が抑制され、上述した内部流動を安定に形成することができる。
 また更に、ライン状液体6は、液体が付与されていない領域60を内部に包含することにより、コーヒーステイン現象における内部流動によって機能性材料が縁61、62に到達するまでの平均移動距離を短縮することができる。
 これらの結果、比較的大きい径でライン状液体6を形成する場合においても、コーヒーステイン現象を安定に発現することができ、内側細線30及び外側細線31の形成を安定化することができる。これにより、機能性細線パターン2を構成する外側細線(幾何学図形細線)31を自由度高く安定に形成できる効果が得られる。そして、内側細線30を除去することによって、除去せず残留させる外側細線(幾何学図形細線)31からなる機能性細線パターン2における細線の配置間隔を自由度高く調整することができる。
 以上に説明したとおり、本発明の機能性細線パターン2を形成するための好ましい方法においては、まず、基材1上に、機能性材料を含むライン状液体6によって、閉じられた幾何学図形を形成し、次いで、前記ライン状液体6を乾燥して、前記機能性材料を縁部に沿って堆積させることにより、機能性材料を含む内側細線30と外側細線31からなる機能性細線ユニット7を形成する。かかる細線ユニット7を基材上に複数並設することで機能性細線パターン前駆体が形成される。
 次いで、機能性細線パターン前駆体の機能性細線ユニット7を構成する内側細線30と外側細線31からなる機能性細線のうち、内側細線30を除去することにより、除去せず残留させる外側細線31によって、機能性細線パターン2の幾何学図形細線31を形成することができる。
 図12~図14の例では、複数の外側細線31を同じ形状で形成する場合について示しているが、各ライン状液体6の形状によって各外側細線31に所望の形状を付与できる。このため、以上の方法を用いれば、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’の形状を、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31の形状と異ならせることも容易である。特にインクジェット法を用いれば、所望の形状で幾何学図形細線31を形成することができ、所望する形状の幾何学図形細線31を、基材1上の所望する位置に適宜形成することができる。そのため、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’を精度良く幅狭にすることができ、これにより、間隙部4を信頼性高く形成することができる。
 以上のようにして、例えば図1~図11に示したような種々の機能性細線パターン2を好適に形成することができる。
 本発明の他の態様においては、内側細線30と外側細線31からなる機能性細線ユニット7を複数並設することで形成されるパターン(即ち上述した機能性細線パターン前駆体)自体を、機能性細線パターンとすることもできる。この場合、外側細線31によって、互いに複数の交点で接続される幾何学図形細線が構成される。内側細線30は、外側細線31からなる幾何学図形細線に対して付加的に設けられる図形要素である。このような付加的図形要素が設けられる場合においても、外側細線31からなる幾何学図形細線の配置ピッチを複数のパターン部に渡って保持するように間隙部が設けられていることによって、本発明の効果が奏される。以下に、付加的図形要素を含む機能性細線パターンの態様について、図15~図18を参照して詳しく説明する。
 図15及び図16は、本発明の機能性細線パターンの第5態様を概念的に説明する図である。
 ここでは、基材1の両面に機能性細線パターン2が設けられており、図15及び図16は、何れも基材1を同じ側(表面側)から平面視した様子を示している。図15(a)は基材1の表面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2のみを、図15(b)は基材1の裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2のみを基材1を透視して見た様子を、図16は基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2が重なった状態を、それぞれ示している。
 本態様では、機能性細線パターン2は、外側細線からなる幾何学図形細線31と、内側細線30からなる付加的図形要素とによって構成されたユニット7を複数並設して構成されている。かかるユニット7は、図13(b)に示したユニット7に対応しており、各々がコーヒーステイン現象によって形成されたものであって、未だめっき処理が施されていないものである。
 外側細線からなる幾何学図形細線31は、上述した第1態様~第4態様と同様に、隣り合う幾何学図形細線31同士が互いに接続されるように配置されている。幾何学図形細線31の配置については、上述した説明を援用することができるため、ここでの詳しい説明は省略する。
 付加的図形要素である内側細線30は、隣り合う内側細線30同士が互いに接続されていない点で、幾何学図形細線31とは異なっている。
 このような付加的図形要素が機能性細線パターン2中に設けられる場合においても、外側細線31からなる幾何学図形細線の配置ピッチを複数のパターン部に渡って保持するように間隙部4が設けられていることによって、図16に示すように、基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2が重なった状態において、パターンの低視認性を向上できる効果が得られる。
 図示するように、内側細線30からなる各々の付加的図形要素は、パターンの低視認性の観点から、幾何学図形細線31と同様に、その配置ピッチが複数のパターン部3に渡って保持されていることが好ましい。
 また、図示するように、間隙部4に隣接する内側細線30’の形状は、パターンの低視認性の観点から、間隙部4に隣接する幾何学図形細線31’と同様に、間隙部4に隣接しない内側細線30の形状とは異なっていることが好ましい。この例では、幾何学図形細線31’の形状は、間隙部4に隣接しない幾何学図形細線31の四角形状よりも幅が小さい五角形状になっている。また、内側細線30’の形状は、間隙部4に隣接しない内側細線30の四角形状よりも幅が小さい五角形状になっている。
 パターンの低視認性の観点から、付加的図形要素の形状は、幾何学図形細線31の形状と近似しているか、あるいは相似の関係にあることが好ましい。形状が近似しているというのは、幾何学図形細線31がn角形であれば、付加的図形要素もn角形であることを意味し、幾何学図形細線31が円形又は楕円形であれば、付加的図形要素も円形又は楕円形であることを意味する。付加的図形要素は、幾何学図形細線31の内側に配置されることが好ましく、幾何学図形細線31と同じ向きに配置されることが好ましい。
 図17及び図18は、本発明の機能性細線パターンの第6態様を概念的に説明する図である。
 ここでは、基材1の両面に機能性細線パターン2が設けられており、図17及び図18は、何れも基材1を同じ側(表面側)から平面視した様子を示している。図17(a)は基材1の表面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2のみを、図17(b)は基材1の裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2のみを基材1を透視して見た様子を、図18は基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2が重なった状態を、それぞれ示している。
 本態様では、機能性細線パターン2は、上述した第5態様と同様に、外側細線からなる幾何学図形細線31と、内側細線からなる付加的図形要素30とによって構成されたユニット7を複数並設して構成されている。かかるユニット7は、図14(a)に示したユニット7に対応しており、各々がコーヒーステイン現象によって形成されたものであって、更に外側細線(幾何学図形細線)31に対して電解めっき処理が施されたことによって、外側細線(幾何学図形細線)31の膜厚が内側細線(付加的図形要素)30の膜厚よりも大きくなったものである。
 このように、幾何学図形細線31と付加的図形要素30とが異なる膜厚を有する場合においても、幾何学図形細線31の配置ピッチを複数のパターン部に渡って保持するように間隙部4が設けられていることによって、図18に示すように、基材1の表面及び裏面に設けられた機能性細線パターン2、2が重なった状態において、パターンの低視認性を向上できる効果が得られる。また、幾何学図形細線31と付加的図形要素30とが異なる線幅を有する場合においても、同様の効果が得られる。
 上述した第5態様あるいは第6態様における機能性細線パターン2の付加的図形要素30、30’を除去することによって、図4及び図5に示したものと同様の機能性細線パターン2を得ることができる。
 機能性細線パターン前駆体の製造方法は、以上に説明した方法に限定されず、種々の方法で形成することができる。幾何学図形細線31を、コーヒーステイン現象を利用して形成することは特に好ましいことである。付加的図形要素30もまた、コーヒーステイン現象を利用して形成することが好ましい。
 細線に含まれる機能性材料は、上述したように導電性材料であることが好ましい。導電性材料を用いることで、該細線の集合体により構成されるパターンを透明導電膜(電極膜あるいは透明電極ともいう)として好適に用いることができる。
 透明導電膜付き基材の用途は、格別限定されないが、種々の電子機器が備える種々のデバイスに用いることができる。本発明の効果を顕著に奏する観点で、例えば、液晶、プラズマ、有機エレクトロルミネッセンス、フィールドエミッション等の各種方式のディスプレイ用透明電極として、あるいは、タッチパネルや携帯電話、電子ペーパー、各種太陽電池、各種エレクトロルミネッセンス調光素子等に用いられる透明電極として好適に用いることができる。スマートフォン、タブレット端末等のような電子機器のタッチパネルセンサーとして透明導電膜付き基材を用いることは特に好ましい。タッチパネルセンサーとして用いる場合は、透明基材の両面の透明導電膜(X電極及びY電極)として、上述した細線パターンを用いることが好ましい。
 以上の説明において、一つの態様について説明された構成は、他の態様に適宜適用することができる。
 以下に、本発明の実施例について説明するが、本発明はかかる実施例により限定されない。
(実施例1)
1.センサーパターン(i)
 実施例1のセンサーパターン(i)は、図15及び図16に示したものと同様の機能性細線パターン2と、引出し配線5とを基材1の両面に備えている。センサーパターン(i)を構成するパターン部3の寸法及び並設数は、以下の通りである。

 かかるセンサーパターン(i)は、下記の方法により作製された。
2.センサーパターン(i)の作製
(1)インクの調製
 インク(機能性材料を含む液体)として、以下の組成を有するパターン部形成用インクと引き出し配線形成用インクをそれぞれ調製した。
<パターン部形成用インク>
 ・銀ナノ粒子(平均粒子径:20nm):0.23wt%
 ・界面活性剤(ビッグケミー社製「BYK348」):0.05wt%
 ・ジエチレングリコールモノブチルエーテル(分散媒):20wt%
 ・水(分散媒):残量
<引き出し配線形成用インク>
 ・銀ナノ粒子(平均粒子径:20nm):13wt%
 ・界面活性剤(ビッグケミー社製「BYK348」):0.5wt%
 ・1,3-ブタンジオール(分散媒):20wt%
 ・水(分散媒):残量
(2)基材の用意
 基材として、パターン部形成用インクの接触角が20.3°となるように表面処理が施された50μm厚PET基材を用意した。表面処理としては、信光電気計装社製「PS-1M」を用いてコロナ放電処理を行った。
3.パターンの形成
(1)機能性細線パターンの形成
 液滴吐出装置(コニカミノルタ社製「KM1024iLHE-30」(標準液滴容量30pL))を基材1に対して相対移動させながら該液滴吐出装置からインクを吐出し、ライン状液体を蒸発させ、乾燥させることにより、該ライン状液体の縁に機能性材料を選択的に堆積させて、2本線間中心で一辺1.09mmとなる四角形状の内側細線30と外側細線31とからなる細線ユニット7を2パスに分けて形成し、機能性細線パターン2を形成した。パターン部3は、上述したTopセンサー寸法で形成し、間隙部4に隣接する内側細線30’及び外側細線31’は、パターン部3間で絶縁が取れるように五角形状に形成した。ここでは、70℃に加熱されたステージ上に配置した基材1にパターン形成することにより、ライン状液体の乾燥を促進させている。
(2)引き出し配線の形成
 上記機能性細線パターンを形成した後、液滴吐出装置(コニカミノルタ社製「KM1024iSHE」(標準液滴容量6pL))を基材1に対して相対移動させながら該液滴吐出装置からインクを吐出し、ライン状液体を蒸発させ、乾燥させることにより、L/S=60μm/60μmの複数の引き出し配線5を形成した。ここでは、各々の引き出し配線5が上記パターン部3に接続されるように、位置の位置合わせを行った上で引き出し配線5を形成している。また、70℃に加熱されたステージ上に配置した基材1にパターン形成することにより、ライン状液体の乾燥を促進させている。
(3)裏面へのパターンの形成
 上記のようにして、基材1の表面に機能性細線パターン2及び引き出し配線5を形成した後、基材1の裏面に同様に機能性細線パターン2及び引き出し配線5を上述したBottomセンサー寸法で形成した。ここでは、基材1の表面のパターン形成の後、裏面のパターン形成を行う前に、画像変更(Bottomパターン)と、表裏パターン形成位置の位置合わせを行っている。
(4)焼成
 120℃で10分間、オーブンで基材1を加熱することによって、上記により形成されたパターンに加熱焼成処理を施した。
(5)物性値
 以上により得られたセンサーパターン(i)の物性値は下記の通りであった。
・外側細線(幾何学図形細線)31の線幅:5.45μm
・内側細線(付加的図形要素)30の線幅:5.45μm
・間隙部4の寸法:63.4μm
・機能性細線パターン2の透過率:87.37%
・パターン部3の端子間抵抗値:667kΩ
 ここで、線幅は、光学顕微鏡観察により任意の10点について測定された線幅の平均値である。間隙部4の寸法は、光学顕微鏡観察により任意の10点の間隙部4について測定された寸法の平均値である。透過率は、ヘイズメーター(日本電色工業社製「NDH7000」)を用いて、JIS K7136に準じ、機能性細線パターン2の全光線透過率と
して測定された値である。端子間抵抗値は、三和電気計器株式会社製「CD770」を用いてパターン部3の10端子について一端から他端までの電気抵抗(Ω)を測定した値の平均値である。
(実施例2)
1.センサーパターン(ii)
 実施例2のセンサーパターン(ii)は、図17及び図18に示したものと同様の機能性細線パターン2と、引出し配線5とを基材1の両面に備えている。センサーパターン(ii)を構成するパターン部3の寸法及び並設数は、実施例1のセンサーパターン(i)と同様である。
 かかるセンサーパターン(ii)は、下記の方法により作製された。
2.センサーパターン(ii)の作製
(1)銅電解めっき
 実施例1のセンサーパターン(i)に下記めっき条件で、外側細線31に対して選択的に銅電解めっきを施した。その結果、外側細線31の線幅及び膜厚は、内側細線の線幅及び膜厚よりも大きくなった。
<めっき条件>
 実施例1のセンサーパターン(i)が形成された基材1に対して、引き出し配線5から給電し、硫酸銅五水和物20g、1N塩酸、1.3g、光沢付与剤(メルテックス社製「ST901C」)5gを、イオン交換水で1000mLとなるように調製してなるめっき浴内で電解めっきを行った。アノードをめっき用銅板と接続し、めっき浴内で基材1と銅板が30mm離間するように設置した。0.2Aの定電流で12分間、銅電解めっき処理を施した。めっき終了後、基材1を水洗し、乾燥した。
(2)物性値
 以上により得られたセンサーパターン(ii)の物性値は下記の通りであった。
・外側細線(幾何学図形細線)31の線幅:5.84μm
・内側細線(付加的図形要素)30の線幅:5.45μm
・間隙部4の寸法:63.4μm
・機能性細線パターン2の透過率:87.36%
・パターン部3の端子間抵抗値:240Ω
(実施例3)
1.センサーパターン(iii)
 実施例2のセンサーパターン(iii)は、図4及び図5に示したものと同様の機能性細線パターン2と、引出し配線5とを基材1の両面に備えている。即ち、センサーパターン(iii)は、実施例2のセンサーパターン(ii)における内側細線30が除去された状態である。センサーパターン(iii)を構成するパターン部3の寸法及び並設数は、実施例1のセンサーパターン(i)と同様である。
 かかるセンサーパターン(iii)は、下記の方法により作製された。
2.センサーパターン(iii)の作製
(1)ニッケル電解めっき
 実施例2のセンサーパターン(ii)に下記めっき条件で、ニッケル電解めっきを施した。その結果、外側細線31に選択的にニッケル電解メッキが施され、一方、内側細線30は除去された。
<めっき条件>
 実施例2のセンサーパターン(ii)が形成された基材1に対して、引き出し配線5から給電し、硫酸ニッケル240g、塩化ニッケル45g、ホウ酸30gを、イオン交換水で1000mLとなるように調製してなるめっき浴内で電解めっきを行った。アノードをめっき用ニッケル板と接続し、めっき浴内で基材とニッケル板が30mm離間するように設置した。0.2Aの定電流で3分間、ニッケル電解めっき処理を施した。更に、めっき終了後、めっき浴内で10分間、基材1を放置した後、水洗し、乾燥した。
(2)物性値
 以上により得られたセンサーパターン(iii)の物性値は下記の通りであった。
・外側細線(幾何学図形細線)31の線幅:6.40μm
・間隙部4の寸法:63.4μm
・機能性細線パターン2の透過率:88.53%
・パターン部3の端子間抵抗値:126Ω
<低視認性評価>
 以上により得られたセンサーパターン(i)~(iii)の各々について、下記の評価基準で、低視認性を評価した。
[評価基準]
 低視認性は、サンプルをライトテーブル上で50cm離れた位置から目視し、細線が視認できないほど低視認性に優れるとするものであり、具体的には、細線が視認できないものを「A」、細線が若干視認できるが実用上問題ないものを「B」、細線がはっきりと視認できるものを「C」と評価した。なお、センサーパターン(i)~(iii)のうち、「C」評価に該当するものはなかった。
 評価結果を表1に示す。

  1.  基材上に、機能性材料を含む閉じられた幾何学図形細線を、隣り合う前記幾何学図形細線同士が互いに複数の交点で接続されるように、二次元的に複数並設してなる複数のパターン部と、
     隣り合う前記パターン部間に設けられた間隙部と、により構成され、
     前記幾何学図形細線の配置ピッチを複数の前記パターン部に渡って保持するように前記間隙部が設けられている機能性細線パターン。
  2.  前記間隙部の幅が、前記配置ピッチよりも狭い請求項1記載の機能性細線パターン。
  3.  前記パターン部を構成する前記幾何学図形細線のうち、前記間隙部に隣接する前記幾何学図形細線の形状が、前記間隙部に隣接しない前記幾何学図形細線の形状と異なることによって前記間隙部が設けられている請求項1又は2記載の機能性細線パターン。
  4.  前記幾何学図形細線の形状が、多角形である請求項1~3の何れかに記載の機能性細線パターン。
  5.  前記パターン部は、前記基材の長手方向に対して各辺が傾斜した四角形である前記幾何学図形細線を、該基材の長手方向及び幅方向のそれぞれに並設してなる請求項1~4の何れかに記載の機能性細線パターン。
  6.  前記基材の両面に形成された請求項1~5の何れかに記載の機能性細線パターン。
  7.  基材上に、機能性材料を含む閉じられた幾何学図形細線を、隣り合う前記幾何学図形細線同士が互いに複数の交点で接続されるように、二次元的に複数並設してなる複数のパターン部と、
     隣り合う前記パターン部間に設けられた間隙部と、により構成され、
     前記幾何学図形細線の配置ピッチを複数の前記パターン部に渡って保持するように前記間隙部が設けられている機能性細線パターンを製造する機能性細線パターンの製造方法であって、
     前記幾何学図形細線を、コーヒーステイン現象を利用して形成する機能性細線パターンの製造方法。
  8.  前記間隙部の幅を、前記配置ピッチよりも狭くする請求項7記載の機能性細線パターンの製造方法。
  9.  前記パターン部を構成する前記幾何学図形細線のうち、前記間隙部に隣接する前記幾何学図形細線の形状を、前記間隙部に隣接しない前記幾何学図形細線の形状と異ならせることによって前記間隙部を形成する請求項7又は8記載の機能性細線パターンの製造方法。
  10.  前記幾何学図形細線の形状を多角形に形成する請求項7~9の何れかに記載の機能性細線パターンの製造方法。
  11.  前記パターン部を、前記基材の長手方向に対して各辺が傾斜した四角形である前記幾何学図形細線を、該基材の長手方向及び幅方向のそれぞれに並設して形成する請求項7~10の何れかに記載の機能性細線パターンの製造方法。
  12.  基材上に、機能性材料を含む第1ライン状液体によって、閉じられた幾何学図形を形成し、前記第1ライン状液体を乾燥して、前記機能性材料を縁部に沿って堆積させることにより、前記機能性材料を含む内側細線と外側細線からなる第1機能性細線パターン前駆体を形成し、
     次いで、前記基材上に、機能性材料を含む第2ライン状液体によって、閉じられた幾何学図形を形成し、前記第2ライン状液体を乾燥して、前記機能性材料を縁部に沿って堆積させることにより、前記機能性材料を含む内側細線と外側細線からなる第2機能性細線パターン前駆体を形成する際に、
     少なくとも一組の前記第1機能性細線パターン前駆体と前記第2機能性細線パターン前駆体において、前記第1機能性細線パターン前駆体の前記外側細線と、前記第2機能性細線パターン前駆体の前記外側細線とが接続され、且つ前記第1機能性細線パターン前駆体の前記内側細線と、前記第2機能性細線パターン前駆体の前記内側細線とが接続されないように、前記第1機能性細線パターン前駆体及び前記第2機能性細線パターン前駆体を形成し、
     次いで、前記機能性細線パターン前駆体の前記内側細線を除去することにより、除去せず残留させる前記外側細線によって前記幾何学図形細線を形成する請求項7~11の何れかに記載の機能性細線パターンの製造方法。
  13.  前記機能性材料として導電性材料を用い、互いに接続された前記第1機能性細線パターン前駆体の前記外側細線と前記第2機能性細線パターン前駆体の前記外側細線とからなる通電経路を通して通電することによって、前記外側細線に電解めっきを施し、
     次いで、前記機能性細線パターン前駆体の前記内側細線を除去することにより、除去せず残留させる前記外側細線によって前記幾何学図形細線を形成する請求項12記載の機能性細線パターンの製造方法。
  14.  前記基材の両面に前記機能性細線パターンを形成する請求項7~13の何れかに記載の機能性細線パターンの製造方法。
