  • the pump efficiency can be improved by the center of the vortex being located in the blade groove.
  • the reason why the pump efficiency is improved is that, when viewed in a section perpendicular to the rotation direction of the impeller (hereinafter, simply referred to as “orthogonal section”), the vicinity of the center of the vortex is more gas than the vicinity of the outer peripheral edge of the vortex. • the pressure of the gas in the space formed by the impeller blade groove and the housing facing groove rises as the impeller rotates. That is, the pressure of the gas in the space formed by the impeller blade groove and the housing facing groove increases as the impeller rotates in the rotational direction. For this reason, if the center of the vortex is located outside the blade groove, the gas in the vicinity of the center flows backward on the lower pressure side, that is, in the direction opposite to the rotation direction of the impeller.
