Definitions

  • Clamping device for a sealed packaging capsule containing at least one portion of food and regeneration household machine including said clamping device
  • the present invention relates to a clamping device for a sealed packaging capsule containing at least one portion of food.
  • the invention also relates to a regeneration household machine including said clamping device.
  • This household machine is configured to regenerate cooked and subsequently cooled to chilled, ambient or frozen temperatures portions of food packaged in a sealed packaging capsule.
  • the portion of food which is packaged in the sealed packaging capsule is a cooked and subsequently cooled to chilled, ambient or frozen temperatures portion of food.
  • the packaging capsule can accommodate raw portion of food to be cooked or cooked portion of food to be re-heated.
  • lower and upper are used referring to the position of the household machine in operation, that is when the household machine is placed on a horizontal support plane, and to the position of the clamping device and of the capsule when inserted in the household machine in operation, that is a substantially vertical position.
  • bottom and top are used referring to the position of the machine, clamping device and capsule when they are placed on a horizontal support plane.
  • a sealed packaging capsule typically comprises an internal space which accommodates the portion(s) of food, the internal space being delimited by a bottom surface, a side wall extending upwardly from the bottom surface and comprising - at a free end portion thereof - a flange, and a sealing film removably associated with the flange.
  • the sealed packaging capsule is arranged in a substantially vertical position, so as to achieve an optimal heat transfer between the hot steam/water provided all around the packaging capsule and the food contained in the packaging capsule.
  • the Applicant observed that because of this vertical positioning, the food inside the packaging capsule for gravity moves towards the lower part of the packaging capsule and exerts a pressure to the seal provided on this part of the packaging capsule. Since the seal of the packaging capsule are typically tested against breaking and leakage assuming that the packaging capsule is arranged in a substantially horizontally position, there is a high risk that because of the above-mentioned gravity pressure the seal on the lower part of the packaging capsule does not resist to this pressure and breaks.
  • the technical problem at the basis of the present invention is thus that of ensuring a safe, effective and reliable sealing on the packaging capsule, even when the sealed packaging capsule is used in a substantially vertical position.

  • the detecting device allows detection of possible undesired configuration in the machine.
