Abstract
一种VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,在液晶材料中同时加入光引发剂和聚合物单体,利用光罩(50),采用紫外光进行照射后,使聚合物单体按照光罩(50)的图案在阵列基板(10)侧形成聚合物凸起(311),从而起到类似于凸起/间隙的效果,用于对液晶分子产生预倾角以使得面板内的液晶分子排列方向正常,该制作方法简单易行,省去了阵列基板侧的ITO蚀刻工艺,降低了生产成本。

主动式薄膜晶体管液晶显示器(Thin Film Transistor-LCD,TFT-LCD)近年来得到了飞速的发展和广泛的应用。现有市场上的液晶显示装置大部分为背光型液晶显示装置,其包括液晶显示面板及背光模组(backlight module)。通常液晶显示面板由彩膜基板(CF,Color Filter Substrate)、薄膜晶体管基板(TFT,Thin Film Transistor Substrate)、夹于彩膜基板与薄膜晶体管基板之间的液晶(LC,Liquid Crystal)及密封框胶(Sealant)组成;其工作原理是通过在两片玻璃基板上施加驱动电压来控制液晶层的液晶分子的旋转,将背光模组的光线折射出来产生画面。
就目前主流市场上的TFT-LCD显示面板而言,可分为三种类型,分别是扭曲向列(Twisted Nematic,TN)或超扭曲向列(Super Twisted Nematic,STN)型,平面转换(In-Plane Switching,IPS)型、及垂直配向(Vertical Alignment,VA)型。其中VA型液晶显示器相对其他种类的液晶显示器具有极高的对比度,在大尺寸显示,如电视等方面具有非常广的应用。目前VA技术主要分为多畴垂直配向(Multi-domian Vertical Alignment,MVA)技术、图像垂直配向(Patterned Vertial Alignment,PVA)技术、连续焰火状排列(Continuous pinwheel Alignment,CPA)技术、和聚合物稳定垂直配向(Polymer Stabilization Vertical Alignment,PSVA)技术。这些VA技术,都需要在CF基板侧或TFT基板侧设计凸起(Protrusion)或间隙(Slit),以使得液晶分子产生一个预倾角,在未加电的时候,液晶分子沿着凸起或间隙的方向排列;在加电的时候,凸起或间隙表面的液晶分子会开始运动,并带着远处的液晶分子沿着同一方向取向,从而保证整个像素都获得稳定的配向。
然而,这些凸起或间隙都需要一定的制作工艺才能完成,例如:在MVA技术中,需要在CF基板侧或TFT基板侧设置凸起,该凸起需要一道专门的曝光工艺才能实现,并且对曝光工艺的技术要求较高;而在PSVA技术中,则需要在TFT基板侧蚀刻透明的氧化铟锡(ITO)层,以产生间隙。
这些方法都大大增加了TFT-LCD制程的复杂程度。
发明内容
本发明的目的在于提供一种VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,在液晶材料中同时加入光引发剂和聚合物单体,利用光罩,使聚合物单体按照光罩的图案在TFT阵列基板侧形成聚合物凸起,用于对液晶分子产生预倾角,从而省去阵列基板侧的ITO蚀刻工艺,制作方法简单易行。
为实现上述目的,本发明提供一种VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,包括如下步骤:
步骤1、提供光引发剂、可在紫外光照射下发生聚合反应的含有活性基团的聚合物单体、及液晶材料;将所述光引发剂与聚合物单体混入到液晶材料中,得到液晶组合物;
步骤2、将所述液晶组合物注入到阵列基板侧或彩膜基板侧形成液晶层,并将阵列基板和彩膜基板进行真空对组贴合,得到液晶面板;
步骤3、提供光罩,所述光罩包括间隔分布的遮光区域与透光区域;在阵列基板一侧采用紫外光通过光罩对所述液晶面板进行照射,从而使得液晶面板内的聚合物单体在紫外光照射下发生聚合反应,根据光罩的图案在所述阵列基板内侧对应所述光罩的透光区域的位置生成间隔分布的聚合物凸起;
步骤4、对所述液晶面板施加电压,在液晶面板的液晶层内的液晶分子发生偏转后,继续采用紫外光进行照射,使得剩余的聚合物单体发生聚合反应,在所述阵列基板及彩膜基板上生成聚合物凸点,以达到锚定液晶分子的目的;
步骤5、撤去液晶面板上的电压,得到VA型液晶显示面板。
所述步骤1中,按照光引发剂、聚合物单体、液晶材料的质量百分比为0.1~0.5%:4~8%:91.5~95.9%,将所述光引发剂和聚合物单体混入到液晶材料中。
所述光引发剂包括偶氮二异丁腈、过氧化二烷类、过氧化二酰类、过氧化脂类中的一种或多种。
所述聚合物单体包括丙烯酸酯及其衍生物、甲基丙烯酸酯及其衍生物、苯乙烯及其衍生物、环氧树脂与脂肪胺类环氧固化剂中的一种或多种。
所采用的紫外光的能量为85~100mW/cm2。
所述步骤3中,紫外光照射时间为20~30min。
所述步骤4中,对所述液晶面板施加的电压为13~25V,紫外光照射时
间为70~110s。
所述步骤5中,撤去电压后,为使液晶面板中残留的聚合物单体全部反应,采用紫外光继续照射20~30min。
所述步骤2中,采用滴入式将所述液晶组合物注入到阵列基板侧或彩膜基板侧。
本发明还提供一种VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,包括如下步骤:
步骤1、提供光引发剂、可在紫外光照射下发生聚合反应的含有活性基团的聚合物单体、及液晶材料;将所述光引发剂与聚合物单体混入到液晶材料中,得到液晶组合物;
步骤2、提供阵列基板与彩膜基板;将所述液晶组合物注入到阵列基板侧或彩膜基板侧形成液晶层,并将阵列基板和彩膜基板进行真空对组贴合,得到液晶面板;
步骤3、提供光罩,所述光罩包括间隔分布的遮光区域与透光区域;在阵列基板一侧采用紫外光通过光罩对所述液晶面板进行照射,从而使得液晶面板内的聚合物单体在紫外光照射下发生聚合反应,根据光罩的图案在所述阵列基板内侧对应所述光罩的透光区域的位置生成间隔分布的聚合物凸起;
步骤4、对所述液晶面板施加电压,在液晶面板的液晶层内的液晶分子发生偏转后,继续采用紫外光进行照射,使得剩余的聚合物单体发生聚合反应,在所述阵列基板及彩膜基板上生成聚合物凸点,以达到锚定液晶分子的目的;
步骤5、撤去液晶面板上的电压,得到VA型液晶显示面板;
其中,所述步骤1中,按照光引发剂、聚合物单体、液晶材料的质量百分比为0.1~0.5%:4~8%:91.5~95.9%,将所述光引发剂和聚合物单体混入到液晶材料中;
其中,所述步骤3中,紫外光照射时间为20~30min;

本发明的有益效果:本发明提供了一种VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法。本发明的VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,在液晶材料中同时加入光引
发剂和聚合物单体,采用紫外光通过光罩进行照射后,聚合物单体按照光罩的图案在阵列基板侧形成聚合物凸起,从而起到类似于凸起/间隙的效果,用于对液晶分子产生预倾角以使得面板内的液晶分子排列方向正常,该制作方法简单易行,省去了阵列基板侧的ITO蚀刻工艺,降低了生产成本。
下面结合附图,通过对本发明的具体实施方式详细描述,将使本发明的技术方案及其他有益效果显而易见。

为更进一步阐述本发明所采取的技术手段及其效果,以下结合本发明的优选实施例及其附图进行详细描述。
请参阅图1,本发明提供一种VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,包括如下步骤:
步骤1、按照光引发剂、聚合物单体31、液晶材料的质量百分比为0.1~0.5%:4~8%:91.5~95.9%,将光引发剂和可在紫外光照射下发生聚合反应的含有活性基团(reactive mesogen,RM)的聚合物单体(Monomers)31混入到液晶材料中,得到液晶组合物;
具体的,所述光引发剂包括偶氮二异丁腈、过氧化二烷类、过氧化二酰类、过氧化脂类中的一种或多种;所述聚合物单体包括丙烯酸酯及其衍生物、甲基丙烯酸酯及其衍生物、苯乙烯及其衍生物、环氧树脂与脂肪胺类环氧固化剂中的一种或多种。
步骤2、采用滴入式(One Drop Filling,ODF)将所述液晶组合物注入到阵列基板10侧或彩膜基板20侧形成液晶层,并将阵列基板10和彩膜基板20进行真空对组贴合,得到液晶面板;
步骤3、如图2所示,提供光罩50,所述光罩50包括间隔分布的遮光区域51与透光区域52;在阵列基板10一侧采用能量为85~100mW/cm2的紫外光通过光罩50对所述液晶面板进行照射,从而使得液晶面板内的聚合物单体31在紫外光照射下发生聚合反应,照射时间为20min~30min后,如图3所示,所述聚合物单体31会根据光罩50的图案在所述阵列基板10内侧对应所述光罩50的透光区域52的位置生成间隔分布的聚合物凸起311;
步骤4、如图4所示,对所述面板施加13~25V的电压,液晶面板的液晶层内的液晶分子32在电压驱动下发生偏转,然后,继续采用紫外光进行照射70~110s,使得剩余的聚合物单体31发生聚合反应,如图5所示,聚合物单体31在所述阵列基板10及彩膜基板20上生成聚合物凸点312,以达到锚定液晶分子32的目的;
步骤5、撤去面板上的电压,得到VA型液晶显示面板;可选择的,撤去电压后,为使液晶面板中的残留的聚合物单体31全部反应,采用紫外光继续照射20~30min。
综上所述,本发明提供了一种VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法。本发明的VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,在液晶材料中同时加入光引发剂和聚合物单体,采用紫外光通过光罩进行照射后,使聚合物单体按照光罩的图案在阵列基板侧形成聚合物凸起,从而起到类似于凸起/间隙的效果,用于对液晶分子产生预倾角以使得面板内的液晶分子排列方向正常,该制作方法简单易行,省去了阵列基板侧的ITO蚀刻工艺,降低了生产成本。
以上所述,对于本领域的普通技术人员来说,可以根据本发明的技术方案和技术构思作出其他各种相应的改变和变形,而所有这些改变和变形都应属于本发明权利要求的保护范围。
Claims (13)
- 一种VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,包括如下步骤:步骤1、提供光引发剂、可在紫外光照射下发生聚合反应的含有活性基团的聚合物单体、及液晶材料;将所述光引发剂与聚合物单体混入到液晶材料中,得到液晶组合物;步骤2、提供阵列基板与彩膜基板;将所述液晶组合物注入到阵列基板侧或彩膜基板侧形成液晶层,并将阵列基板和彩膜基板进行真空对组贴合,得到液晶面板;步骤3、提供光罩,所述光罩包括间隔分布的遮光区域与透光区域;在阵列基板一侧采用紫外光通过光罩对所述液晶面板进行照射,从而使得液晶面板内的聚合物单体在紫外光照射下发生聚合反应,根据光罩的图案在所述阵列基板内侧对应所述光罩的透光区域的位置生成间隔分布的聚合物凸起;步骤4、对所述液晶面板施加电压,在液晶面板的液晶层内的液晶分子发生偏转后,继续采用紫外光进行照射,使得剩余的聚合物单体发生聚合反应,在所述阵列基板及彩膜基板上生成聚合物凸点,以达到锚定液晶分子的目的;步骤5、撤去液晶面板上的电压,得到VA型液晶显示面板。
- 如权利要求1所述的VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,其中,所述步骤1中,按照光引发剂、聚合物单体、液晶材料的质量百分比为0.1~0.5%:4~8%:91.5~95.9%,将所述光引发剂和聚合物单体混入到液晶材料中。
- 如权利要求1所述的VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,其中,所述光引发剂包括偶氮二异丁腈、过氧化二烷类、过氧化二酰类、过氧化脂类中的一种或多种。
- 如权利要求1所述的VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,其中,所述聚合物单体包括丙烯酸酯及其衍生物、甲基丙烯酸酯及其衍生物、苯乙烯及其衍生物、环氧树脂与脂肪胺类环氧固化剂中的一种或多种。
- 如权利要求1所述的VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,其中,所采用的紫外光的能量为85~100mW/cm2。
- 如权利要求1所述的VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,其中,所述步骤3中,紫外光照射时间为20~30min。
- 如权利要求1所述的VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,其中,所述 步骤4中,对所述液晶面板施加的电压为13~25V,紫外光照射时间为70~110s。
- 如权利要求7所述的VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,其中,所述步骤5中,撤去电压后,为使液晶面板中残留的聚合物单体全部反应,采用紫外光继续照射20~30min。
- 如权利要求1所述的VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,其中,所述步骤2中,采用滴入式将所述液晶组合物注入到阵列基板侧或彩膜基板侧。
- 一种VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,包括如下步骤:步骤1、提供光引发剂、可在紫外光照射下发生聚合反应的含有活性基团的聚合物单体、及液晶材料;将所述光引发剂与聚合物单体混入到液晶材料中,得到液晶组合物;步骤2、提供阵列基板与彩膜基板;将所述液晶组合物注入到阵列基板侧或彩膜基板侧形成液晶层,并将阵列基板和彩膜基板进行真空对组贴合,得到液晶面板;步骤3、提供光罩,所述光罩包括间隔分布的遮光区域与透光区域;在阵列基板一侧采用紫外光通过光罩对所述液晶面板进行照射,从而使得液晶面板内的聚合物单体在紫外光照射下发生聚合反应,根据光罩的图案在所述阵列基板内侧对应所述光罩的透光区域的位置生成间隔分布的聚合物凸起;步骤4、对所述液晶面板施加电压,在液晶面板的液晶层内的液晶分子发生偏转后,继续采用紫外光进行照射,使得剩余的聚合物单体发生聚合反应,在所述阵列基板及彩膜基板上生成聚合物凸点,以达到锚定液晶分子的目的;步骤5、撤去液晶面板上的电压,得到VA型液晶显示面板;其中,所述步骤1中,按照光引发剂、聚合物单体、液晶材料的质量百分比为0.1~0.5%:4~8%:91.5~95.9%,将所述光引发剂和聚合物单体混入到液晶材料中;其中,所述步骤3中,紫外光照射时间为20~30min;其中,所述步骤4中,对所述液晶面板施加的电压为13~25V,紫外光照射时间为70~110s;其中,所述步骤5中,撤去电压后,为使液晶面板中残留的聚合物单体全部反应,采用紫外光继续照射20~30min;其中,所述步骤2中,采用滴入式将所述液晶组合物注入到阵列基板侧或彩膜基板侧。
- 如权利要求10所述的VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,其中,所述光引发剂包括偶氮二异丁腈、过氧化二烷类、过氧化二酰类、过氧化脂类中的一种或多种。
- 如权利要求10所述的VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,其中,所述聚合物单体包括丙烯酸酯及其衍生物、甲基丙烯酸酯及其衍生物、苯乙烯及其衍生物、环氧树脂与脂肪胺类环氧固化剂中的一种或多种。
- 如权利要求10所述的VA型液晶显示面板的制作方法,其中,所采用的紫外光的能量为85~100mW/cm2。
