- the attachment structure for a liquid injection attachment is used when performing a liquid injection operation using a pipette with respect to an introduction port such as a microchannel of a microfluidic chip into which liquid is introduced.
- a pipette although not shown, in addition to a plurality of pipettes provided in the automatic injection apparatus, a pipette 100 that sucks and injects liquid with a rubber ball 102 as shown in FIG. 1, a microliter unit as shown in FIG.
- micropipettes 110 and the like which are used when a small amount of liquid is sucked and injected, and all are included in the pipette in the present invention.
- the liquid injection attachment 1 (hereinafter simply referred to as an attachment) is detachably attached to the tip portion 101 of the pipette 100 or the tip portion 111 of the micropipette 110, but is not limited to these uses. .
- the pipette 100 or the micropipette 110 can be used by being detachably attached to the tip 121 of the pipette tip 120 attached to the tip.
- the tip portions 101 and 111 of the pipettes 100 and 110 and the tip portion 121 of the pipette tip 120 are formed in a tapered shape by an injection molding method or the like using a thermoplastic resin as a molding material, and are usually commercially available. Can be used.
- attachment 1 is detachably attached to the tip portion 101 of the pipette 100 that sucks and injects the liquid by the rubber ball 102
- 2 can also be used when detachably mounted on the tip 111 of the micropipette 110 and the tip 121 of the pipette tip 120 shown in FIG.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a state in which a liquid injection attachment according to the present invention is attached to the tip of a pipette, and shows an enlarged portion surrounded by a one-dot chain line circle.
- FIG. 3 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of the liquid injection attachment shown in FIG.
- the attachment 1 is entirely formed in a cylindrical shape by a rubber-like elastic body.
- the specific rubber-like elastic body varies depending on the type of liquid used, but generally a rubber or elastomer material is selected. Typical examples include silicone rubber, fluorine rubber, acrylic rubber, nitrile rubber, and butyl rubber. For example, compression molding, injection molding, or the like can be employed as a method of forming into a cylindrical shape.
- the attachment 1 is composed of, for example, an attachment body 2 formed in a cylindrical shape as shown in FIG. 3 and a washer 3 provided in the attachment body 2.
- the attachment body 2 has a first tube hole portion 21 into which the tip 101 of the pipette 100 is inserted at one end side (upper side in FIG. 3), and the pipette 100 inside at the other end side (lower side in FIG. 3).
- the 1st cylinder hole part 21 and the 2nd cylinder hole part 22 are connected along the axial direction of the attachment main body 2, and comprise the through-hole from the one end side of the attachment main body 2 to the other end side.
- the first tube hole portion 21 is a cylindrical hole portion having the same inner diameter along the axial direction (vertical direction in FIG. 3) of the attachment body 2, and the inner diameter is sufficient for the tip portion 101 of the pipette 100 to be inserted. have.
- the outer peripheral surface of the tip portion 101 is attached to the first tube hole portion in an attached state where the tip portion 101 is fitted into a washer 3 described later and further insertion is impossible.
- the inner surface of 21 is formed so as not to be substantially pressed in the radial direction. That is, in the mounted state, the inner surface of the first tube hole portion 21 is formed so as to be in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the tip portion 101 or not to be in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the tip portion 101 as shown in FIG. Has been.
- the second cylindrical hole portion 22 is also a cylindrical hole portion having the same inner diameter along the axial direction of the attachment main body 2, but has a smaller diameter than the first cylindrical hole portion 21. Accordingly, a step is generated at the boundary between the first tube hole portion 21 and the second tube hole portion 22.
- the step portion 23 is formed which is a surface parallel to the surface on the other surface side (a surface orthogonal to the axial direction of the cylindrical hole portion 22).
- the axial length of the second tube hole 22 is closer to the tip than the tip 101. It is formed to have.
- the washer 3 is inserted and attached to the step portion 23 from the first tube hole portion 21 side.
- the washer 3 shown in the present embodiment is a flat flat washer, and a mounting hole 31 into which the tip 101 of the pipette 100 is fitted is formed at the center.
- a synthetic resin As a material for the washer 3, it is preferable to use a synthetic resin.
- the attachment 1 can be light and inexpensive. In particular, an inexpensive and easy-to-mold thermoplastic resin such as polypropylene can be used.
- the outer diameter of the washer 3 is the same as or slightly larger than the inner diameter of the first tube hole portion 21.
- the outer diameter of the washer 3 is formed to be slightly larger, it is preferable that the outer diameter of the washer 3 is in pressure contact with the inner surface of the first cylindrical hole portion 21 and is elastically held on the stepped portion 23. It is not necessary to use means such as an adhesive, and it is preferable from the character of a pipette or the like using a liquid such as a reagent by holding it elastically.
- the mounting hole 31 of the washer 3 is sized so that the tip 101 of the pipette 100 can be fitted, but specifically, it may be formed to be equal to or smaller than the inner diameter of the second cylindrical hole 22. it can.
- FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view showing a mounting structure between the pipette 100 and the attachment 1.
- the operation and effect of the attachment structure and the attachment 1 will be described with reference to the drawing, taking as an example a case where the liquid E is injected into the introduction port 202 of the microchannel 201 formed in the microfluidic chip 200.
- the attachment 1 When the liquid E in the pipette 100 is injected into the microchannel 201 of the microfluidic chip 200, the attachment 1 is first attached to the tip 101 of the pipette 100. That is, the distal end portion 101 is inserted from the first tube hole portion 21 of the attachment 1 and is fitted into the mounting hole 31 of the washer 3. At this time, the attachment 1 is held by the tip portion 101 and is attached by the elasticity of the tip portion 101 and / or the elasticity of the washer 3. The tip of the tip 101 passes through the washer 3 and reaches the inside of the second cylinder hole 22.
- the attachment 1 is pressed against the upper surface 200a of the microfluidic chip 200, and the periphery of the second cylindrical hole portion 22 provided at the lower end of the attachment body 2 is brought into contact with the periphery of the introduction port 202.
- the attachment 1 is crushed by applying a load to the attachment 1.
- the load at this time is transmitted from the distal end portion 101 to the stepped portion 23 of the attachment main body 2 through the washer 3, and compresses the rubber elastic body around the attachment main body 2, specifically, the second cylindrical hole portion 22. Deform.
- a reaction force due to compressive deformation in the axial direction is generated in the attachment body 2, and the periphery of the introduction port 202 can be reliably sealed.
- this attachment body 2 counters the injection pressure at the time of liquid injection. For this reason, the attachment 1 maintains good sealing performance, the liquid E does not leak to the outside, and the liquid E is introduced from the pipette 100 into the microchannel 201 through the second cylindrical hole portion 22 and the introduction port 202. Can do.
- the reaction force generated by the compressive deformation in the axial direction of the attachment main body 2 is effectively used during the liquid injection.
- the load transmitted from the distal end portion 101 to the washer 3 compresses and crushes a sufficiently large rubber-like elastic body around the second cylindrical hole portion 22 that protrudes further toward the distal end side than the distal end portion 101. It can be secured. For this reason, even when applied to an automatic injection apparatus using a plurality of pipettes, it is possible to sufficiently absorb variations (tolerances) for each pipette.
- the attachment 1 is composed of an attachment main body 2 and a washer 3 made of a rubber-like elastic body as a whole, the manufacturing process can be simplified and the manufacturing cost can be reduced. In addition, since a commercially available pipette 100 can be used as it is, the introduction cost can be reduced.
- the inner surface of the first tube hole portion 21 is formed so as not to contact the tip portion 101, but the inner diameter of the first tube hole portion 21 is set so as to contact the outer peripheral surface of the tip portion 101.
- a flat washer is used as the washer 3.
- the washer 3 is gradually reduced toward the mounting hole 31 toward the distal end side (lower side in FIG. 5).
- a tapered funnel-shaped cylindrical portion 32 may be provided. According to this, a contact area with the front-end
- the tip portion 101 is smoothly guided by the funnel-shaped cylindrical portion 32 even if the center axis of the tip portion 101 and the center axis of the attachment body 2 are shifted. be able to. Therefore, the effect of improving the workability of attachment to the tip 101 can be obtained, which is particularly effective when applied to an automatic liquid injection system using an automatic injection device or a pipetting robot.
- FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view showing another example of the attachment structure for the liquid injection attachment according to the present invention. Since the parts having the same reference numerals as the attachment structure and the liquid injection attachment shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 are parts having the same configuration, the description thereof is incorporated herein and is omitted here.
- the attachment structure of the liquid injection attachment 1 ′ (hereinafter referred to as the attachment 1 ′), no washer is provided on the step portion 23 of the attachment body 2. Instead of this washer, a flange portion 103 projecting in the radial direction is integrally provided at the tip portion 101 of the pipette 100. By inserting the tip 101 of the pipette 100 from the first tube hole portion 21, the flange portion 103 is in contact with the step portion 23.
- the flange portion 103 is formed so that the outer diameter is the same as or slightly larger than the inner diameter of the first tube hole portion 21.
- the distal end portion 101 is elastically held on the stepped portion 23 when the flange portion 103 and the inner surface of the first tube hole portion 21 are in pressure contact with each other.
- the flange portion 103 provided at the tip portion 101 of the pipette 100 performs the same function as the washer 3, so that the attachment 1 is not deformed or damaged.
- the attachment main body 2 is compressed in the axial direction via the stepped portion 23, and the same effect as described above that can be sealed by the reaction force at that time is obtained.
- the load transmitted from the tip portion 101 to the step portion 23 via the flange portion 103 compresses a sufficiently large rubber-like elastic body around the second cylindrical hole portion 22 projecting to the tip side from the tip portion 101. Therefore, a large amount of crushing can be ensured as described above. For this reason, even when applied to an automatic injection apparatus using a plurality of pipettes, it is possible to sufficiently absorb variations (tolerances) for each pipette.
- this flange portion 103 is provided at the tip of the tip portion 101, the tip of the tip portion 101 may protrude further than the flange portion 103 as shown in FIG. According to this, since the distal end side of the distal end portion 101 reaches the second cylindrical hole portion 22, the liquid can be injected more smoothly.
- the attachment main body 2 is formed so that the outer shape is cylindrical.
- the attachment main body 2 is not necessarily cylindrical, and may be a rectangular tube.
- the shape which inclines along an axial direction may be sufficient as the outer peripheral surface of the attachment main body 2.
- first tube hole portion 21 may have a shape that gradually decreases in diameter toward the step portion 23.
- second cylindrical hole portion 22 may have a shape that gradually decreases in diameter or expands along the axial direction.
