현재 인터넷 광고로 크게 3종류를 들 수 있다. 키워드 광고, 디스플레이부 광고, 네이티브 광고이다.
키워드 광고(Keyword advertising)는 인터넷 검색사이트에 특정 키워드를 검색한 사람들을 대상으로 광고주의 사이트가 노출되도록 하는 광고 기법이다. 키워드 광고의 단점은 주요 키워드의 선점을 위한 경쟁, 키워드 노출 빈도에 따른 비용 부담, 키워드 발굴의 어려움 등을 들 수 있다.
디스플레이부 광고는 배너광고라 불리며 웹페이지의 일정공간을 차지하는 방식으로 광고가 표시된다. 디스플레이부 광고는 광고주에게는 편의성을 제공하는 측면은 있으나, 웹페이지의 일정 공간을 할애해야 하기 때문에 특히 모바일 환경에서는 사용자의 불편을 야기할 수 있다.

본 발명은 광고가 컨텐츠의 표시에 미치는 영향을 최소화 하고 사용자에게 친화적이면서 다양한 형태로 광고를 노출할 수 있는 효과가 있다.

본 발명은 다양한 변환을 가할 수 있고 여러 가지 실시예를 가질 수 있는 바, 특정 실시예들을 도면에 예시하고 상세한 설명에 상세하게 설명하고자 한다. 그러나, 이는 본 발명을 특정한 실시 형태에 대해 한정하려는 것이 아니며, 본 발명의 사상 및 기술 범위에 포함되는 모든 변환, 균등물 내지 대체물을 포함하는 것으로 이해되어야 한다.
본 발명을 설명함에 있어서 관련된 공지 기술에 대한 구체적인 설명이 본 발명의 요지를 흐릴 수 있다고 판단되는 경우 그 상세한 설명을 생략한다.
이하, 본 발명의 실시예를 첨부한 도면들을 참조하여 상세히 설명하기로 한다. 본 발명을 설명함에 있어 전체적인 이해를 용이하게 하기 위하여 도면 번호에 상관없이 동일한 수단에 대해서는 동일한 참조 번호를 사용하기로 한다.
도 1은 본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 광고가 표시되는 컨텐츠 제공 서버를 나타낸 도면이다.
도 1을 참조하면, 본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 광고가 표시되는 컨텐츠 제공 서버(100)는 컨텐츠 정보 생성부(110), 표시제어 정보 생성부(120) 및 통신부(130)를 포함한다.
컨텐츠 정보 생성부(110)는 사용자에게 제공될 컨텐츠 정보를 생성한다. 컨텐츠 정보는 텍스트, 이미지, 동영상 등으로 표시되는 뉴스, 쇼핑 정보, 문화 정보 등이며, 사용자 단말(200)의 디스플레이부(230)를 통하여 표시된다.
생성된 컨텐츠 정보는 PC나 모바일에서 브라우져를 통하여 읽어들일 수 있는 HTML(HyperText Markup Language)내에 삽입될 수 있다.
표시제어 정보 생성부(120)는 컨텐츠 정보를 이용하여 표시제어 정보를 생성한다.
표시제어 정보는 사용자 단말에 전송될 HTML 파일 내의 태그(Tag) 형태로 삽입될 수 있다.
광고 정보는 사용자 단말이 광고 서버(300)에 광고를 요청하여 수신할 수 있다. 이러한 경우 표시제어 정보는 사용자 단말로 하여금 광고를 요청하고 광고를 수신하도록 하는 정보를 더 포함할 수 있다.
광고 정보는 컨텐츠 제공 서버(100)가 광고 서버(300)로부터 광고 정보를 수신하여 사용자 단말에 송신할 수도 있고, 광고 서버(300)가 컨텐츠 제공 서버(100)로부터 컨텐츠 정보를 수신하거나 자체적으로 컨텐츠 정보를 생성하여 광고 정보와 함께 사용자 단말에 송신할 수도 있다. 광고 정보는 이와 같이 다양한 경로로 사용자 단말에 제공될 수 있다.
표시제어 정보는 컨텐츠 정보 중 일부를 광고 정보로 치환하여 상기 사용자 단말(200)의 디스플레이부(230) 일부에 표시하게 하고, 치환된 부분이 상기 디스플레이부(230)의 다른 일부로 이동되는 경우, 상기 치환된 부분이 치환 전 컨텐츠 정보로 복구하여 표시한다.
표시제어 정보는 컨텐츠 정보 중 일부를 광고 정보로 치환하여 상기 사용자 단말(200)의 디스플레이부(230) 일부에 표시하게 하고, 치환된 부분이 상기 디스플레이부(230)의 다른 일부로 이동되는 경우, 상기 치환된 부분이 치환 전 컨텐츠 정보로 복구하여 표시한다.
이를 사용자 단말(200)을 주체로 설명하면, 사용자 단말(200)은 PC나 모바일이 될 수 있으며, 브라우져 등의 프로그램을 통하여 표시제어 정보 및 컨텐츠 정보가 포함된 HTML파일을 읽는다. 이에 따라, 사용자 단말(200)의 디스플레이부(230)에는 컨텐츠 정보가 웹페이지 형태로 표시된다. 이 때, 광고 정보도 함께 표시되는데 컨텐츠 정보의 일부가 광고 정보로 치환되어 표시된다.
예를 들어, 컨텐츠 정보 중 특정 단어가 광고 정보 중 광고 키워드로 치환될 수 있다. 단어의 치환은 특정 단어를 광고 키워드로 치환, 문단마다 무작위적으로 단어를 선택하여 광고 키워드로 치환, 일정 개수의 단어마다 광고 키워드로 치환(예를 들어, 50단어 마다 하나씩 치환) 등 다양한 형태로 이루어 질 수 있다. 또한, 하나의 단어가 하나의 광고 키워드로 치환되는 일대 일 치환 뿐만 아니라 다수의 단어가 다수의 광고 키워드로 치환될 수도 있다. 이를 좀 더 응용하면, 컨텐츠 정보에 포함된 문장을 광고 키워드들로 치환화여 스토리텔링(story telling)식의 광고도 가능하다.
치환되는 컨텐츠 정보는 단어 뿐만 아니라, 이미지, 동영상 등이 될 수도 있다.
컨텐츠 정보 중 일부는 광고 정보로 치환되어 사용자 단말(200)의 디스플레이부(230) 중 일부에만 표시된다. 예를 들어, 디스플레이부(230)를 양분하여 상부영역, 하부영역을 정의한다면 상부영역에는 컨텐츠 정보만이 표시되고, 하부영역에는 본래의 컨텐츠 정보 및 광고 정보로 치환된 부분이 표시된다. 치환되어 표시될 영역은 다양한 크기로 정의될 수 있다. 바람직하게는, 상부영역에는 컨텐츠 정보만이 표시되는 것이 바람직하다. 이는 사용자의 시선이 주로 상부영역에 머무르기 때문이다.
하부영역에 치환된 부분은 사용자의 스크롤 동작에 따라 상부영역으로 이동할 수 있다. 이 경우 상부 영역에서는 치환된 부분이 다시 치환 전 컨텐츠 정보로 복구되어 표시될 수 있도록 제어된다. 상부 영역에서 이와 같은 복구를 수행하는 이유 역시 사용자의 시선이 주로 상부영역에 머무르기 때문이다. 즉, 본 발명의 동작에 따르면 사용자의 주 시야로 사용자가 본래 보려고 했던 정보를 읽어들일 수 있도록 하고 보조시야로 광고 정보를 읽어들이도록 하되, 광고 정보가 주 시야 내로 들어올 경우 컨텐츠 정보로 복구함으로써 광고 정보가 컨텐츠 내에 삽입됨으로 인한 불편함을 해소할 수 있다. 또한, 특정 단어만이 광고 키워드로 대체되는 경우 사용자는 주변시야 또는 주 시야로 광고 키워드가 포함된 문장을 인식할 수 있기 때문에 흥미를 유발할 수 있고 컨텐츠에 대한 관심에 편승할 수 있어 광고 효과를 극대화할 수 있다.
사용자 단말(200)의 스크롤 동작에 의하여 웹페이지의 표시가 웹페이지의 최하단에 이르렀을 때는 상부영역 및 하부영역 모두 광고 정보를 제외한 컨텐츠 정보만을 표시하는 것이 바람직하다. 이렇게 표시하지 않으면 웹페이지의 최하단은 상부영역에 표시될 수 없어 치환 전 컨텐츠 정보를 표시할 수 없기 때문이다.
표시제어 정보 생성부(120)는 사용자 단말(200)이 치환된 부분에 대한 클릭 또는 터치 신호를 감지하는 경우, 치환된 부분에 상응하는 세부 광고 정보를 상기 디스플레이부(230)에 표시하도록 표시제어 정보를 생성한다.
다시 사용자 단말(200)을 주체로 설명하면, 사용자가 디스플레이부(230)에 표시된 치환된 부분, 즉 광고 키워드나 광고 이미지 등을 터치하거나 클릭하면 사용자 단말(200)은 표시제어 정보의 제어를 통하여 세부 광고 정보를 박스 형태로 표시하거나, 팝업 등을 통하여 별도의 웹페이지로 디스플레이부(230)에 표시할 수 있다.
통신부(130)는 컨텐츠 정보 및 표시제어 정보를 사용자 단말(200)로 송신한다.
컨텐츠 정보 및 표시제어 정보는 HTML 파일 내의 정보로 기록되어 송신될 수 있다.
도 2는 본 발명의 일실시예에 따라 사용자 단말의 디스플레이부에 광고가 표시되는 실제 형태를 나타낸 도면이다.
도 2를 참조하면, 디스플레이부(230)는 상단영역(T)과 하단영역(D)으로 양분된다.
하단영역(D)의 특정단어(O)(도 2A), 광고 키워드(S)로 치환되어 표시된다(도 2B). 사용자 단말은 이 부분에 대한 클릭 또는 터치를 감지하여 상세 광고 정보가 제공되는 링크에 연결할 수 있다.
도 3은 본 발명의 일실시예에 따라 사용자 단말(100)의 디스플레이부(230)에 광고가 표시되는 실제 형태를 나타낸 도면이다.
치환된 부분(S)은 사용자의 스크롤 동작에 따라 디스플레이부(230) 상에서 상단으로 이동하여 표시된다(도 3A, 도 3B). 치환된 부분(S)은 상단 영역(T)으로 이동하게 되면, 치환 전 컨텐츠 정보인 특정 단어(O)로 복구된다(도 3C). 이 때, 하단영역(D)에 있는 또 다른 단어는 광고 키워드(S)로 치환된다(도 3C).
치환된 부분이 치환 전 컨텐츠 정보로 복구될 때, 사용자 단말(100)은 복구되는 과정을 다양한 애니메이션 효과로 표시하여 줄 수 있다. 즉, 사용자 단말(100)은 하단 영역(D)에서 상단 영역(T)으로 넘어가는 순간 플립(flip)되어 표시가 바뀌는 효과, 치환된 부분이 서서히 페이드 아웃(fade out)되는 효과 등을 표시할 수 있다. 물론, 이러한 효과는 표시제어 정보로서 사전에 컨텐츠 제공 서버(100)에 의해 생성될 수 있다.
도 4는 본 발명의 일실시예에 따라 사용자 단말의 디스플레이부에 광고가 표시되는 실제 형태를 나타낸 도면이다.
도 4A에서는 하단영역의 이미지의 일부가 공익광고(S)로 치환되었다. 도 4A에서는 전체 이미지 중 일부만을 치환하였으나 이에 제한되지 않으며 전체 이미지를 하나의 광고 이미지로 치환할 수도, 여러 개의 광고 이미지로 치환할 수도 있다.
도 4B에서는 치환된 부분이 상단 영역으로 이동하였기 때문에 원래의 컨텐츠 정보에 포함된 이미지(O)로 복구되었다. 이미지의 경우 일부만 상단영역으로 이동하여도 치환 전 이미지(O)로 복구하는 것이 바람직하다. 사용자의 편의를 위해서는 상단영역을 하단영역보다 좀 더 넓게 설정할 수도 있을 것이다(예를 들어, 화면의 3/4 이상을 상단영역으로 설정).
도 5는 본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 광고가 표시되는 컨텐츠 제공 방법을 나타낸 순서도이다.
S210단계에서, 컨텐츠 제공 서버(100)는 컨텐츠 정보를 생성한다.

통신부(210)는 광고 서버(300)로부터 광고 정보를 수신한다.

디스플레이부(230)는 컨텐츠 정보, 광고 정보 및 세부 광고 정보를 사용자에게 시각적으로 표시한다.
사용자 단말(200)은 상술한 구성 요소들을 이용하여 후술하는 광고 표시 방법을 사용할 수 있다.
도 7는 본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 컨텐츠 내 광고 표시 방법을 나타낸 순서도이다.
S210단계에서, 사용자 단말(200)은 컨텐츠 제공 서버(100)로부터 컨텐츠 정보를 수신한다. 다만, 컨텐츠 정보는 사용자 단말(200)이 이미 보유할 수도 생성할 수도 있다는 점은 이미 설명한 바와 같다.
S220단계어서, 사용자 단말(200)은 광고 서버(300)로부터 광고 정보를 수신한다. S210단계와 S220단계는 그 순서가 서로 바뀌어도 무방하다.
S230단계에서, 사용자 단말(200)은 컨텐츠 정보를 디스플레이부(230)에 표시하되, 컨텐츠 정보의 일부를 광고 정보로 치환하여 디스플레이부의 일부에 표시한다.
S240단계에서, 사용자 단말(200)은 스크롤 동작을 인식한다. 사용자는 디스플레이부(230)에 표시할 수 있는 영역보다 세로로 길게 형성된 웹페이지 등을 보기 위하여 화면을 아래로 스크롤 동작을 하게 된다. 스크롤 동작이 인식되면 S250단계로 진행하고, 스크롤 동작이 인식되지 않으면 S242단계로 진행한다.
S242단계에서, 사용자 단말(200)은 치환된 부분에 클릭(PC의 경우) 또는 터치(PC 또는 모바일 단말의 경우)가 있는 지 감지한다. 감지된 경우 S252단계로 진행하고, 감지되지 않는 경우 S240단계로 되돌아 간다.
S252단계에서, 사용자 단말(200)은 사용자가 클릭한 치환된 부분에 상응하는 세부 광고 정보를 표시한다.
S250단계에서, 사용자 단말(200)은 치환된 부분이 사용자의 스크롤 동작에 의하여 디스플레이부(230) 상의 기설정된 영역으로 이동하였는지 여부를 판단한다. 이동하였다면 S260단계로 진행하고, 이동하지 않았다면, S240단계로 되돌아간다. 사용자의 디스플레이부주(230)는 상부영역과 하부영역으로 양분하여 나눌 수 있으며 상부역역을 기준영역으로 설정하는 것이 바람직하다.
S260단계에서, 사용자 단말(200)은 치환된 부분을 치환 전 컨텐츠 정보로 복구하여 디스플레이부(230)에 표시한다.
상술한 컨텐츠 내 광고 표시 방법은 PC나 모바일 단말과 같은 전자 장치에서 판독 가능한 기록매체에 프로그램으로 기록될 수 있다. 이러한 프로그램은 예를 들어, 모바일 단말의 경우 모바일용으로 제작된 HTML이나 앱(Application) 형태가 될 수 있다. 컨텐츠 제공 서버는 컨텐츠 내 광고 표시 방법을 실행할 수 있는 HTML을 생성하여 사용자 단말에 제공하거나, 컨텐츠 내 광고 표시 방법을 실행할 수 있는 프로그램을 생성하고 앱 판매자를 통하여 사용자 단말에 제공할 수 있다.
컨텐츠 내 광고 표시 방법은 컨텐츠 정보와 함게 광고 정보를 제공받을 수 있음은 물론, 기존에 가지고 있던 컨텐츠에도 광고를 표시할 수 있다. 또한, 컨텐츠 내 광고 표시 방법은 선호하는 광고 종류나 형태 등을 사용자가 선택할 수 있는 모듈을 추가로 제공하여 사용자 맞춤형 광고를 제공할 수도 있다.
