Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for controlling a drive wheel when the tire air pressure of a vehicle is abnormal, the method being enabled to change a four-wheel drive mode and a two-wheel drive mode during traveling, is abnormal. The drive wheel control method of the present invention includes the steps of: monitoring the air pressure of vehicle tires; checking whether four-wheel drive is operational when the tire air pressure of an auxiliary drive wheel is abnormal; deselecting four-wheel drive if the vehicle is in four-wheel drive; and setting four-wheel drive prohibition if the vehicle is not in four-wheel drive. A drive system can be prevented from being damaged due to abnormal tire air pressure if the drive wheel control method of the present invention is carried out.
