- JP 2001-187875 A Japanese Patent Publication No.49-14197 JP 54-30700 A
- the present invention has been made in view of the above, and an object thereof is to provide a frictional resistance reducing agent excellent in the effect of reducing the frictional resistance against an aqueous medium or the like and a fire extinguishing agent including the frictional resistance reducing agent.
- the present inventor has found that the above object can be achieved by a frictional resistance reducing agent containing an aqueous dispersion of polyalkylene oxide, and has completed the present invention.
- a frictional resistance reducing agent comprising a polyalkylene oxide aqueous dispersion containing a polyalkylene oxide, aluminum oxide, an electrolyte, and water, in which the polyalkylene oxide is dispersed.
- the frictional resistance reducing agent according to Item 1 wherein the polyalkylene oxide has a viscosity average molecular weight of 100,000 to 10,000,000. 3.
- the frictional resistance reducing agent according to Item 1 or 2 wherein the polyalkylene oxide contains at least one selected from the group consisting of polyethylene oxide and an ethylene oxide-propylene oxide copolymer. 4).
- Item 5. The frictional resistance reducing agent according to any one of Items 1 to 4, wherein a mass ratio of the electrolyte to the water and electrolyte / water is 0.11 or more. 6).
- Item 6. The frictional resistance reducing agent according to any one of Items 1 to 5, which is used for an aqueous medium. 7).
- a fire extinguishing agent comprising the frictional resistance reducing agent according to any one of items 1 to 7.
- the frictional resistance reducing agent according to the present invention contains an aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion. Since the molecular structure of the polyalkylene oxide contained in this aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion does not easily collapse even when mechanical shearing force is applied, for example, even if a friction resistance reducing agent is sent into the pipe by a pump or the like. The effect of reducing frictional resistance is not easily lost. Therefore, according to the said frictional resistance reducing agent, the outstanding frictional resistance reduction effect can be given with respect to the aqueous medium in piping.
- the frictional resistance reducing agent according to the present invention comprises a polyalkylene oxide aqueous dispersion.
- the polyalkylene oxide aqueous dispersion contains polyalkylene oxide, aluminum oxide, an electrolyte, and water.
- the polyalkylene oxide is present in a dispersed state in the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion.
- the polyalkylene oxide contained in the aqueous dispersion of polyalkylene oxide is not particularly limited, and polyethylene oxide, ethylene oxide-propylene oxide copolymer, ethylene oxide-butylene oxide copolymer, ethylene oxide-styrene oxide copolymer, ethylene oxide-cyclohexene oxide.
- Examples of the polymer include a copolymer and an ethylene oxide-epichlorohydrin copolymer.
- the polyalkylene oxide may be one of the polymers exemplified above or may be two or more.
- the viscosity average molecular weight of the polyalkylene oxide is preferably 100,000 to 10 million, more preferably 1 million to 8 million.
- Preferred polyalkylene oxides are polyethylene oxide and ethylene oxide-propylene oxide copolymers. Even if the polyalkylene oxide is polyethylene oxide or an ethylene oxide-propylene oxide copolymer, the viscosity average molecular weight thereof is preferably 100,000 to 10 million, more preferably 1 million to 8 million.
- the shape of the polyalkylene oxide is not particularly limited, but is preferably a particle shape from the viewpoint of being easily dispersed in an aqueous medium.
- the form thereof is not particularly limited, such as a true spherical shape, an elliptical shape, a flat shape, and a porous shape.
- the particle size of the polyalkylene oxide is not particularly limited, but from the viewpoint that the polyalkylene oxide is easily dispersed in an aqueous medium, the average particle size (d 50 ) is preferably 250 ⁇ m or less, and is 180 ⁇ m or less. Is more preferable, and it is especially preferable that it is 150 micrometers or less.
- the lower limit of the average particle diameter of the polyalkylene oxide (d 50) is not particularly limited, it can be, for example, 10 [mu] m.
- the content of the polyalkylene oxide is preferably 1 to 40% by mass with respect to the total mass of the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion. If content of a polyalkylene oxide is 1 mass% or more, the effect of reducing the frictional resistance of a polyalkylene oxide aqueous dispersion can be improved more. In addition, when the polyalkylene oxide content is 40% by mass or less, an aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion in which the polyalkylene oxide is uniformly dispersed is easily obtained. From these viewpoints, the content of the polyalkylene oxide is more preferably 10 to 30% by mass.
- the content of the polyalkylene oxide is preferably 0.09 to 400 parts by mass, more preferably 1.9 to 100 parts by mass with respect to 1 part by mass of aluminum oxide.
- aqueous electrolyte solution An aqueous solution in which an electrolyte is dissolved (aqueous electrolyte solution) is used as a dispersion medium for the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion.
- the electrolyte a compound having the property of making the polyalkylene oxide insoluble while minimizing the swelling of the polyalkylene oxide is used.
- the kind will not be specifically limited, For example, inorganic ammonium salts, such as ammonium sulfate and ammonium phosphate, inorganic sodium salts, such as trisodium phosphate and sodium silicate, and potassium sulfate, potassium carbonate, etc. Inorganic potassium salt and the like. Of these, ammonium sulfate is preferably used because of its high solubility in water.
- the solvent for the electrolyte aqueous solution is water, but a mixed solvent of water and a lower alcohol may also be used.
- the concentration of the electrolyte in the frictional resistance reducing agent varies depending on the type of polyalkylene oxide to be dispersed, but it is usually preferable that the electrolyte / water mass ratio is 0.11 or more. If the mass ratio of the electrolyte / water is 0.11 or more, the polyalkylene oxide can be prevented from dissolving in the dispersion medium, and a stable polyalkylene oxide aqueous dispersion can be obtained.
- the mass ratio of the electrolyte / water is preferably 0.11 to 0.90, and more preferably 0.43 to 0.80.
- the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion contains aluminum oxide.
- the presence of this aluminum oxide improves the dispersion stability of the polyalkylene oxide in the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion.
- the average particle diameter of the aluminum oxide is preferably 1 to 1000 nm.
- the average particle diameter of aluminum oxide is more preferably 10 to 100 nm.
- a commercially available alumina sol etc. can be used as aluminum oxide.
- the content of aluminum oxide is usually preferably from 0.1 to 11% by mass, more preferably from 0.3 to 5.3% by mass in terms of solid content with respect to the aqueous electrolyte solution. If the content of aluminum oxide is 0.1% by mass or more, the dispersion state of the polyalkylene oxide tends to be more stable in the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion. Moreover, if the content of aluminum oxide is 11% by mass or less, the viscosity of the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion can be prevented from becoming too large, and appropriate fluidity can be imparted to the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion. Can do.
- the polyalkylene oxide aqueous dispersion may contain other additives as long as the performance of the frictional resistance reducing agent is not impaired.
- an inorganic compound such as hydrophilic silica or a water-soluble polymer may be added for the purpose of adjusting the viscosity of the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion.
- water-soluble polymer materials other than polyalkylene oxide can be selected, but other polyalkylene oxides are added to the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion as long as the effects of the present invention are not impaired. It is also possible.
- the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion constituted as described above exists in a state where the polyalkylene oxide particles are dispersed in the electrolyte aqueous solution without dissolving in the dispersion medium.
- the polyalkylene oxide is stably dispersed, even if a large shearing force is applied to the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion, the chemical bond in the polyalkylene oxide molecule is hardly broken. Therefore, the molecular structure of the polyalkylene oxide is stable against the shearing force, and the molecular structure has a property that it is difficult to be sheared.
- an aqueous solution of a polyalkylene oxide or the like is used as a frictional resistance reducing agent as in the past, the molecular structure of the polyalkylene oxide is easily destroyed by shearing force, and the effect of reducing the frictional resistance is easily lost. Such problems are less likely to occur when aqueous oxide dispersions are used.
- the above polyalkylene oxide aqueous dispersion is also excellent in storage stability. Specifically, in the conventional polyalkylene oxide aqueous solution, the polyalkylene oxide decomposes with the passage of storage days, so the viscosity is greatly reduced, whereas in the polyalkylene oxide aqueous dispersion, such a decrease in viscosity is achieved. Is unlikely to occur. Therefore, with the frictional resistance reducing agent containing the polyalkylene oxide aqueous dispersion, the effect of reducing the frictional resistance is less likely to be impaired even after storage for a certain period.
- the above frictional resistance reducing agent can be used for various applications because it has the advantage of being less susceptible to the effect of reducing the frictional resistance even when shearing is applied, and having excellent storage stability.
- the frictional resistance reducing agent is preferably used for the purpose of reducing the frictional resistance of the aqueous medium in the pipe.
- a frictional resistance reducing agent containing an aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion is present, the frictional resistance in the piping of the aqueous medium is effectively reduced. Become smooth.
- the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion has the property of being uniformly mixed with the aqueous medium immediately when mixed with the aqueous medium, the frictional resistance can be quickly reduced with respect to the aqueous medium.
- the polyalkylene oxide aqueous dispersion is uniformly mixed with the aqueous medium without giving a long-time stirring or a large mechanical shear, the influence of the shear can be further reduced. Also by this, since the destruction of the molecular structure of the polyalkylene oxide is further suppressed, the effect of reducing the frictional resistance by the polyalkylene oxide can be more reliably exhibited. Therefore, the frictional resistance reducing agent of this embodiment is particularly suitable for applications that require urgent water discharge, such as fire-fighting water.
- the frictional resistance reducing agent has an excellent effect of reducing the frictional resistance with respect to the aqueous medium, so that when the aqueous medium is injected from the pipe, the injection distance of the aqueous medium can be made longer.
- the above frictional resistance reducing agent is added to the fire-extinguishing water, so that the water discharge speed and the water discharge distance when the fire-extinguishing water is discharged from the hose are increased, so that the fire can be efficiently extinguished.
- the viscosity of fire-extinguishing water is increased due to the polyalkylene oxide contained in the frictional resistance reducing agent, the adhesion to the target is high, and the evaporation of water is delayed due to the increased viscosity. There is also an advantage that it can be performed reliably.
- the frictional resistance reducing agent may be mixed with an aqueous medium before sending it into the pipe to form a mixed liquid, and this mixed liquid may be sent into the pipe by using a feed pump or the like.
- the aqueous medium and the frictional resistance reducing agent may be independently fed into the pipe.
- the frictional resistance reducing agent may be injected from either upstream or downstream of the pipe.
- the method for producing the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion is not particularly limited. For example, the following steps (1) to (3) (1) a step of preparing an aqueous dispersion of aluminum oxide; (2) a step of preparing a dispersion medium by dissolving an electrolyte in the aqueous dispersion; (3) adding a polyalkylene oxide to the dispersion medium to prepare a polyalkylene oxide aqueous dispersion; The manufacturing method provided with can be applied.
- step (1) a predetermined amount of aluminum oxide as a dispersion stabilizer is added while stirring water to prepare an aqueous dispersion of aluminum oxide.
- a dispersion medium is prepared by dissolving the electrolyte in the aqueous dispersion prepared in the step (1).
- the aqueous dispersion may be neutralized in advance.
- the stability of the polyalkylene oxide is poor under acidic conditions, the polyalkylene oxide added in the next step can exist stably in the dispersion medium if the neutralization treatment as described above is performed.
- the pH of the dispersion medium may be 6-8.
- the neutralization step may be performed in either step (1) or (2), or may be performed in a step between (1) and (2).
- the polyalkylene oxide powder is added to the obtained dispersion medium little by little with stirring.
- an aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion By passing through the above steps, an aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion can be obtained.
- the order of addition of aluminum oxide and electrolyte is not particularly limited. However, when an aluminum oxide sol (alumina sol) is used, the above order is preferable in order to prevent aggregation of aluminum oxide by the electrolyte.
- the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion may be used as it is as a frictional resistance reducing agent, or may be used as a frictional resistance reducing agent by adding other additives or other frictional resistance reducing agents.
- the frictional resistance reducing agent can be used as fire extinguishing water or a fire extinguishing agent by adding a predetermined amount of water.
- the content of polyalkylene oxide is 0.001 to 10 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of water contained in the digestion water from the viewpoint of enhancing the frictional resistance reduction effect. It is preferable to prepare water for fire extinguishing so that the amount is preferably 0.01 to 5 parts by mass.
- the frictional resistance reducing agent is not limited to water for extinguishing fire or fire extinguishing agent, and can be applied to other various uses.
- Example 1 While adding 11.9 g of alumina sol 200 (aluminum oxide dispersion aqueous solution, average particle size 10 to 100 nm, solid content 10%, manufactured by Nissan Chemical Industries, Ltd.) to a 200 mL beaker, 78.6 g while stirring using a motor with a stirrer.

- the sample thus prepared is referred to as “Sample 1A”.
- the sample 1A was continuously stirred for about 1 hour to prepare a sample in which polyethylene oxide was completely dissolved.
- the sample prepared in this way is referred to as “Sample 1B”.
- the vortex depth Ds was 28 mm in the sample immediately after the polyethylene oxide aqueous dispersion was added (ie, sample 1A). Further, when the vortex depth of the sample 1B before being transferred by the magnet pump was measured, the vortex depth Ds was 5 mm, whereas the vortex depth after the sample 1B was transferred by the magnet pump was measured. Ds was 32 mm.
- Example 2 6 L of ion-exchanged water is put into a 10 L container, stirred at a rotation speed of 120 rpm with a flat blade having a width of 80 mm and a height of 25 mm, and 0.5 g of the aqueous polyethylene oxide dispersion obtained in Example 1 (ion) 83 ppm) of the exchange water.
- the sample thus prepared is referred to as “Sample 2A”.
- the sample 2A was continuously stirred for about 1 hour to prepare a sample in which polyethylene oxide was completely dissolved.
- the sample thus prepared is referred to as “Sample 2B”.
- the vortex depth Ds was 33 mm in the sample immediately after the polyethylene oxide aqueous dispersion was added (ie, sample 2A). Further, when the vortex depth of the sample 2B before being transferred by the magnet pump was measured, the vortex depth Ds was 13 mm, whereas the vortex depth after the sample 2B was transferred by the magnet pump was measured. Ds was 34 mm.
- the vortex suppression rate P was calculated by the following equation using the value of the vortex depth measured as described above.
- Dw represents the vortex depth (mm) of ion-exchanged water
- Ds represents the vortex depth (mm) of the sample after the sample was transferred by a magnet pump as described later.
- the vortex depth of the ion exchange water was measured by the same method as the method for measuring the vortex depth of the sample. That is, the vortex depth of the sample was measured in the same manner except that the sample was replaced with ion-exchanged water.
- the measured vortex depth Dw of the ion exchange water was 35 mm.
- the vortex suppression rate after the transfer with the magnet pump was evaluated as follows. Samples prepared in the above-mentioned Examples, Comparative Examples and Preparation Examples were transferred with a magnet pump (IWAKI, Inc .: IWAKI Magnet Pump MD-15R-N), and 300 g (25 ° C.) of the sample aqueous solution after transfer was transferred to a rotor (8 mm). - FIG. 1 shows the change in viscosity for each of the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion of Example 1 and the aqueous polyalkylene oxide solution of Preparation Example 1. Specifically, it shows how the viscosity immediately after the preparation of each of the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion and the aqueous polyalkylene oxide solution changes with the storage days. Both the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion and the aqueous polyalkylene oxide solution were purged with nitrogen, stored in an environment of 40 ° C., and the viscosity was measured every predetermined number of days.
- Viscosity was measured with a commercially available B-type rotational viscometer (stirring speed 12 rpm, stirring time 3 minutes), and the viscosity of the Y axis in FIG. 1 was measured immediately after preparation of the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion and aqueous polyalkylene oxide solution (0 The viscosity is expressed as a relative viscosity with the viscosity of 100 days as 100.
- the dispersion was diluted to prepare an aqueous solution, and the viscosity was measured using this aqueous solution as a measurement sample.
- the viscosity greatly decreases with the passage of storage days, whereas in the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion, a slight decrease is seen compared to the polyalkylene oxide aqueous solution. Only. In the polyalkylene oxide aqueous solution, it is considered that the viscosity decreased due to degradation of the polyalkylene oxide over time. In contrast, it can be said that such decomposition is suppressed in the aqueous polyalkylene oxide dispersion. Therefore, in the polyalkylene oxide aqueous dispersion, it was suggested that the polyalkylene oxide is excellent in storage stability because it is dispersed without being dissolved.
- the frictional resistance reducing agent according to the present invention has a large effect of reducing the frictional resistance, and even if a large shear is applied, the effect of reducing the frictional resistance is not easily lost. Therefore, it is suitably used for reducing the frictional resistance of an aqueous medium or the like, and particularly suitable for use in fire extinguishing water or a fire extinguishing agent.
