Abstract

Une source de rayonnement (SO), qui est utilisable pour produire des impulsions de rayonnement, comprend : une paroi (9,21) avec une ouverture (8,22) ; un collecteur de rayonnement; un écran rotatif (200); et un mécanisme d'entraînement (230) agencé pour faire tourner l'écran autour d'un axe de rotation (222). La source de rayonnement peut être une source de plasma produit par laser. Le collecteur de rayonnement est agencé de manière à diriger des impulsions de rayonnement le long d'un axe optique du collecteur de rayonnement et les impulsions de mise au point de rayonnement au niveau d'un foyer intermédiaire, ledit axe optique passant à travers l'ouverture et ledit foyer intermédiaire étant dans le voisinage de l'ouverture. L'écran comprend un corps (210) avec une ou plusieurs ouvertures, lesdites une ou plusieurs ouvertures formant une voie de passage s'étendant à travers le corps. Le mécanisme d'entraînement est agencé de façon à tourner l'écran de telle sorte que la voie de passage est alignée par intermittence avec l'ouverture au fur et à mesure que chaque impulsion de rayonnement atteint l'écran pour permettre aux impulsions de rayonnement de passer à travers l'ouverture dans la paroi, et le corps recouvre au moins partiellement l'ouverture dans entre des impulsions consécutives de rayonnement. L'axe de rotation de l'écran est généralement perpendiculaire à l'axe optique du collecteur de rayonnement.
