L'invention concerne un carter d'essieu arrière d'un véhicule de travail agricole, ainsi qu'un ensemble essieu arrière le comprenant. Dans un aspect de l'invention, le carter d'essieu arrière de véhicule de travail agricole comprend : une partie enveloppe d'essieu arrière en forme de tuyau creux destinée à entourer un essieu arrière ; une partie enveloppe d'engrenage réducteur disposée solidaire à côté de la partie enveloppe d'essieu arrière ; une partie enveloppe d'arbre de différentiel formée solidaire de l'extrémité avant de la partie enveloppe d'engrenage réducteur, de sorte à recouvrir un arbre de différentiel s'étendant à l'extérieur d'un boîtier de partie de différentiel arrière ; et une partie enveloppe d'unité de freinage disposée solidaire d'une ouverture de la partie enveloppe d'arbre de différentiel sous une forme dans laquelle une ouverture latérale de la partie enveloppe d'arbre de différentiel est recouverte, de sorte qu'un espace dans lequel une unité de freinage à disques multiples peut être disposée soit formé entre la partie enveloppe d'unité de freinage et le boîtier de partie de différentiel arrière.
