- a charge transporting compound generally called a host material with a fluorescent compound, a phosphorescent compound, or a material that emits delayed fluorescence.
- the selection of the organic material in the organic EL element greatly affects various characteristics such as efficiency and durability of the element.
- the light injected from both electrodes is recombined in the light emitting layer to obtain light emission, but it is important how efficiently both holes and electrons are transferred to the light emitting layer.
- the electron injection property and increasing the mobility the probability of recombination of holes and electrons can be improved, and furthermore, high exciton efficiency can be obtained by confining excitons generated in the light emitting layer. it can. Therefore, the role played by the electron transport material is important, and there is a demand for an electron transport material that has high electron injectability, high electron mobility, high hole blocking properties, and high durability against holes. .
- the heat resistance and amorphousness of the material are also important.
- thermal decomposition occurs even at a low temperature due to heat generated when the element is driven, and the material deteriorates.
- the material to be used is required to have high heat resistance and good amorphous properties.
- Tris (8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq 3 ), which is a typical light emitting material, is generally used as an electron transport material. However, since Alq 3 has a low electron mobility and a work function of 5.6 eV, it cannot be said that the hole blocking performance is sufficient.
- hole blocking materials include bathocuproine (BCP) and mixed ligand complexes of aluminum [aluminum (III) bis (2-methyl-8-quinolinato) -4-phenylphenolate (BAlq)]. Proposed.
- Patent Document 1 discloses 3- (4-biphenylyl) -4-phenyl-5- (4-t-butylphenyl) -1,2,4-triazole as an electron transport material having excellent hole blocking properties. (TAZ) has been proposed.

Description

<比較例1>
