Definitions
- the present invention relates to a mixed material for depositing lithium, a manufacturing method thereof, and an organic element using the same.
- lithium is used as an electron injection material in an organic element typified by an OLED (organic EL display). That is, such an organic element includes an anode, a cathode, and an active layer (recombination portion) provided between these anodes and cathodes and capable of recombining electrons and holes. .
- an electron injection layer is provided on the cathode side of the active layer. .

- lithium oxide which will be described later, which is the main component of the mixed material of the present embodiment, reacts vigorously with silicon (Si) at high temperatures, so in the case of a crucible using silicon (ceramic crucible), There is a risk of drilling holes in the ceramic crucible.
- a silicon-free crucible for example, a crucible using PBN, can be used because of its low reactivity with lithium oxide.
- the crucible using this PBN is expensive, for example, when the electron beam heating vapor deposition method using a heating hearth made of heat-resistant ceramic is performed, the cost is low and easy. This is preferable in that lithium deposition can be performed.
- FIG. 2 is a flowchart showing a manufacturing method of the mixed material.
- FIG. 3A is a diagram illustrating the molecular structure of Comparative Example 1
- FIG. 3B is a diagram illustrating the molecular structure of the product of the present embodiment.

- the mixed material of the present embodiment contains lithium oxide in a molar ratio of 90% or more. Moreover, in the mixed material of this embodiment, it is preferable to make lithium oxide into less than 95% by molar ratio.
- the amount of sodium chloride added is preferably a value within the range of 1 wt% to 10 wt%.
- the amount of magnesium oxide added is preferably a value within the range of 1 wt% to 10 wt%.
- lithium oxide when the molar ratio (composition ratio) of lithium oxide is less than 90%, lithium may not be efficiently extracted by lithium deposition.
- the lithium source material target material
- the amount of sodium chloride (alkali metal compound) added is less than 1 wt%, when the mixed material is formed, the degree of filling (packing density) of the mixed material is lowered and lithium deposition is performed. May be difficult.
- lithium when the addition amount of sodium chloride is set to a value larger than 10 wt%, lithium may not be efficiently taken out by lithium deposition.
- magnesium oxide alkaline earth metal compound
- lithium when the amount of magnesium oxide added is greater than 10 wt%, lithium may not be efficiently extracted by lithium deposition.
- the mixed material of the present embodiment is configured as a sintered material made of lithium oxide, sodium chloride, and magnesium oxide.
- step S1 an addition step of adding sodium chloride and magnesium oxide to lithium oxide is performed (step S1), and an intermediate material of the mixed material Is obtained.

- step S3 the baking process which bakes the intermediate material pressurized by the said pressurization process is performed. Thereby, the mixed material of this embodiment comprised with the form of the sintered material is manufactured.
- Comparative Example 1 when only lithium oxide is pressed and sintered, as shown in FIG. 3A, a gap is generated between the particles in lithium oxide M1. It becomes a state.
- this Comparative Example 1 was obtained by filling lithium oxide in a mold, pressurizing with, for example, 100 kgf / cm 2 , and firing in an argon (Ar) atmosphere, for example, at 600 ° C. for 2 hours or more. It is a sintered material.
- the packing density was 1.15 g / cc against the theoretical packing density of 2.01 g / cc. That is, in the comparative example 1, the degree of filling was about 57%, and it was difficult to obtain a stable deposition rate during lithium deposition.
- this embodiment product for example, 5 wt% sodium chloride and 5 wt% magnesium oxide are added to lithium oxide having a molar ratio of 90%, and manufactured under the same pressure conditions and firing conditions as in Comparative Example 1. Processed.
- the packing density was 1.3 g / cc. That is, in this embodiment product, the filling degree is about 65%, and a stable deposition rate can be obtained during lithium deposition (details will be described later).
- the product of this embodiment includes particles of magnesium oxide M3, and this particle is designed to suppress the occurrence of cracks in the product of the present embodiment.
- the magnesium oxide M3 particles work to relieve internal stress generated due to the difference in thermal expansion coefficient of each material during cooling after the firing step, thereby suppressing the occurrence of cracks. Thereby, in this embodiment, it can be made suitable for a vapor deposition material.

- the deposition rate of lithium obtained from the mixed material of the present embodiment became stable at a rate of 0.3 ⁇ / s as illustrated by the dotted line 70 in FIG. This is because, in the mixed material of this embodiment, the degree of filling was 60% or more (for example, about 65%), and thus lithium deposition could be performed stably as described above.
- the light emission characteristic is a stable linear shape as shown by the solid line 80 in FIG.
- the light emission characteristics of the organic EL element 1 are substantially the same as the light emission characteristics of Comparative Example 2 in which an electron injection layer is formed using lithium fluoride (LiF) (shown by a one-dot chain line 81 in FIG. 5).
- lithium fluoride (LiF) is used as a source material, and a resistance heating boat or a heat-resistant crucible is filled with the source material under a vacuum environment (for example, less than 1.0 ⁇ 10 ⁇ 4 Pa).
- An electron injection layer made of lithium fluoride was formed by a so-called resistance heating type vacuum vapor deposition method in which heating was performed.
- An electron injection layer made of lithium fluoride was formed by electron beam evaporation.
- the thickness of the electron injection layer in Comparative Example 2 is 0.5 nm.
- Comparative Example 1 in which the electron injection layer was formed using only lithium oxide, the electron injection layer could not be formed at a stable deposition rate. The brightness was not obtained. This is because the electron injection layer was formed by an unstable deposition rate, so the lithium oxide pixel was attached instead of lithium, or large particles of lithium were attached. This is presumably due to the fact that the injection layer is not formed.
- the mixed material of the present embodiment configured as described above contains 90% or more of lithium oxide as a main component. Further, in the mixed material of the present embodiment, sodium chloride (an alkali metal compound) having a melting point lower than that of lithium oxide and magnesium oxide (an alkaline earth metal compound) having a melting point higher than that of lithium oxide. And are mixed. Thereby, in this embodiment, unlike the said prior art example, the low-cost and easy manufacture mixed material which can vapor-deposit lithium can be comprised.
- the mixed material of the present embodiment is in the form of a sintered sintered material, it is easy to handle and can easily perform lithium deposition.
- the mixed material of this embodiment contains 1 wt% to 10 wt% of sodium chloride, the filling degree of the mixed material can be improved and lithium can be obtained efficiently.
