Definitions
- the present invention relates to a technical field of a vehicle control device that controls a vehicle, for example.
- Patent Document 1 discloses an internal combustion engine that can switch an air-fuel ratio between a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio (that is, a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio) and a lean air-fuel ratio.
- a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio that is, a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio
- a lean air-fuel ratio that is, a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio
- the intake air amount of the internal combustion engine is determined in advance in order to prevent deterioration of exhaust properties. Until this value is reached, the engine is operated at the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio.
- Patent Documents 2 and 3 further exist as prior art documents related to the present invention.
- Patent Document 2 when switching the combustion mode from the non-supercharged stoichiometric combustion mode to the supercharged lean combustion mode, the ignition timing is retarded while the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio is maintained during the combustion mode switching control, and the combustion is performed.
- a technique is disclosed in which the ignition timing is advanced while the lean air-fuel ratio is changed after the mode switching control.
- Patent Document 3 when the operation at the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio is switched to the operation at the lean air-fuel ratio (that is, the lean air-fuel ratio), the intake amount of the internal combustion engine is increased and the change in the intake amount is followed.
- a technique for continuously changing the air-fuel ratio is disclosed.
- the engine is operated at a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio until the intake amount of the internal combustion engine reaches a predetermined value (typically increases). That is, after the intake air amount of the internal combustion engine reaches a predetermined value, the air-fuel ratio is switched from the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio to the lean air-fuel ratio.
- the intake air amount is relatively difficult to increase (that is, the intake air increase rate is relatively slow).
- the intake air amount is less likely to increase because the torque of the internal combustion engine is relatively small compared to when the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine is relatively high.
- the timing at which the air-fuel ratio is switched to the lean air-fuel ratio is delayed. For this reason, the time required for switching from the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio to the lean air-fuel ratio becomes relatively long only by switching the air-fuel ratio to the lean air-fuel ratio after the intake amount of the internal combustion engine reaches a predetermined value. There is a case.
- the time required for switching the air-fuel ratio is the same not only when the air-fuel ratio is switched from the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio to the lean air-fuel ratio but also when the air-fuel ratio is switched from a relatively small air-fuel ratio to a relatively large air-fuel ratio. May become relatively long.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a vehicle control device capable of shortening the switching time from a combustion mode having a relatively small air-fuel ratio to a combustion mode having a relatively large air-fuel ratio.
- the disclosed vehicle control device is a vehicle control device that controls a vehicle including an internal combustion engine capable of switching a combustion mode, and the second combustion has a larger air-fuel ratio than the first combustion mode from the first combustion mode.
- an internal combustion engine capable of switching the combustion mode is controlled.
- the internal combustion engine can switch between a first combustion mode and a second combustion mode.
- the first combustion mode is a combustion mode in which the air-fuel ratio is smaller than that in the second combustion mode (that is, the air-fuel ratio becomes rich).
- a stoichiometric combustion mode which is a combustion mode in which engine operation is performed in a state where the air-fuel ratio becomes the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio (in other words, the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio), can be given as an example.
- the second combustion mode is a combustion mode in which the air-fuel ratio is larger than the first combustion mode (that is, the air-fuel ratio is on the lean side).
- a lean combustion mode that is a combustion mode in which engine operation is performed in a state in which the air-fuel ratio becomes a lean air-fuel ratio (that is, an air-fuel ratio leaner than the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio).
- the vehicle control device includes at least first control means and second control means.
- the first control means controls the internal combustion engine so that the air-fuel ratio is switched after the intake amount of the internal combustion engine increases to the first predetermined amount. Therefore, under the control of the first control means, when the internal combustion engine is switched from the first combustion mode to the second combustion mode, the intake air amount of the internal combustion engine is not increased to the first predetermined amount (typically The air-fuel ratio cannot be switched while the intake air amount is less than the first predetermined amount. In this case, it is preferable that the air-fuel ratio is maintained at the air-fuel ratio in the first combustion mode while the intake air amount of the internal combustion engine has not increased to the first predetermined amount. Thereafter, after the intake air amount of the internal combustion engine has increased to the first predetermined amount (typically, after the intake air amount has exceeded the first predetermined amount), the air-fuel ratio becomes the air-fuel ratio in the second combustion mode. Can be switched.
- the second control means controls the internal combustion engine so as to perform the suppression operation at least during a predetermined period in which the intake air amount increases accompanying switching from the first combustion mode to the second combustion mode.
- the suppression operation is an operation for suppressing a decrease in the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine. More specifically, the suppression operation is an operation that suppresses a decrease in the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine after the switching from the first combustion mode to the second combustion mode is started. Examples of the operation for suppressing the decrease in the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine include an operation for maintaining the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine and an operation for increasing the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine.
- the intake air amount is likely to increase compared to the case where the decrease in the rotation speed of the internal combustion engine is not suppressed (that is, the increase rate of the intake air amount is higher). Faster) Therefore, when the decrease in the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine is suppressed, the time required for the intake air amount to increase to the first predetermined amount is compared with the case where the decrease in the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine is not suppressed. Shortened.
- the air-fuel ratio in the first combustion mode is changed from the air-fuel ratio in the second combustion mode to the case where the decrease in the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine is not suppressed.
- the switching time (that is, the time required for switching from the air-fuel ratio in the first combustion mode to the air-fuel ratio in the second combustion mode) is shortened. That is, the disclosed vehicle control apparatus can shorten the switching time from the first combustion mode to the second combustion mode (that is, the time required for switching from the first combustion mode to the second combustion mode).
- the second control means is configured to: (i) a first period until the intake air amount increases to a second predetermined amount smaller than the first predetermined amount in the predetermined period. (Ii) The suppression operation is not performed in the second period after the intake air amount has increased to the second predetermined amount in the predetermined period.
- the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine is reduced. There is a risk of a relatively rapid decrease. For this reason, in this aspect, a decrease in the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine is allowed when the first period of the predetermined period has elapsed. For this reason, compared with the case where the fall of the rotation speed of an internal combustion engine is accept

Be utilized. For this reason, the deterioration of the fuel consumption of a vehicle resulting from suppressing the fall of the rotation speed of an internal combustion engine is suppressed suitably.

- the engine 200 when the required operating point of the engine 200 is switched from the stoichiometric region to the lean region, the engine 200 is operated in accordance with the switching operation described below. That is, when the required operating point of the engine 200 switches from the stoichiometric region to the lean region, the operating state of the engine 200 is switched from the stoichiometric combustion mode to the lean combustion mode according to the switching operation described below.
- the switching operation for switching the operation state of the engine 200 from the stoichiometric combustion mode to the lean combustion mode will be further described.
- FIG. 2 is a flowchart showing a flow of a switching operation for switching the operating state of engine 200 from the stoichiometric combustion mode to the lean combustion mode.
- the operating point control unit 102 first determines whether or not the requested operating point of the engine 200 moves from the stoichiometric region to the lean region (step S11). That is, the operating point control unit 102 determines whether or not a new required operating point is located in the lean region in a situation where the actual operating point that is the current or actual operating point of the engine 200 is located in the stoichiometric region. Is determined (step S11).
- the required operating point is determined by the required engine output determined according to the vehicle speed of the vehicle 10, the accelerator operation of the driver (that is, the accelerator opening), and the like. Therefore, the required operating point can change every time the vehicle speed or the accelerator operation changes. Therefore, it is preferable that the operating point control unit 102 determines whether or not the required operating point transitions from the stoichiometric region to the lean region every time a new required operating point is calculated.
- step S11 when it is determined that the required operating point of the engine 200 does not move from the stoichiometric region to the lean region (step S11: No), the operating state of the engine 200 is changed from the stoichiometric combustion mode to the lean combustion mode. It is not necessary to switch to. Therefore, in this case, as described in the basic operation described above, the operating point control unit 102 changes the operating state of the engine 200 so that the actual operating point of the engine 200 changes (that is, traces) on the fuel efficiency optimal line. Control (step S17).
- step S11 when it is determined that the required operating point of the engine 200 transitions from the stoichiometric region to the lean region (step S11: Yes), the ECU 100 performs lean combustion on the operating state of the engine 200. To switch to the mode, increase the throttle valve opening. As a result, the intake amount of the engine 200 increases (step S12).
- the operating point control unit 102 controls the operating state of the engine 200 so as to suppress a decrease in the rotational speed of the engine 200 (step S12). That is, in the present embodiment, the intake amount of the engine 200 increases while the decrease in the rotational speed of the engine 200 is suppressed. At this time, the operating point control unit 102 does not have to control the operating state of the engine 200 so that the actual operating point of the engine 200 changes on the fuel efficiency optimal line. In other words, the operating point control unit 102 may control the operating state of the engine 200 so that the actual operating point of the engine 200 is located at a place different from the fuel efficiency optimal line.
- “suppression of a decrease in the rotational speed of the engine 200” refers to the suppression of a decrease in the rotational speed in at least a part of the period after it is determined that the required operating point of the engine 200 transitions from the stoichiometric region to the lean region.
- “decrease in the rotational speed of the engine 200” may mean suppression of a decrease from the rotational speed at the time when it is determined that the requested operating point transitions from the stoichiometric region to the lean region.
- the operating point control unit 102 may maintain the rotational speed of the engine 200 in order to suppress a decrease in the rotational speed of the engine 200.
- the operating point control unit 102 may maintain the rotational speed of the engine 200 at the rotational speed at which it is determined that the requested operating point transitions from the stoichiometric region to the lean region.
- the operating point control unit 102 may increase the rotational speed of the engine 200 in addition to or instead of maintaining the rotational speed of the engine 200 in order to suppress a decrease in the rotational speed of the engine 200. That is, the operating point control unit 102 may increase the rotational speed of the engine 200 to a rotational speed higher than the rotational speed at the time when it is determined that the requested operating point transitions from the stoichiometric region to the lean region.
- the operating point control unit 102 When increasing the rotation speed in order to suppress a decrease in the rotation speed, the operating point control unit 102 does not fall below the rotation speed at the time when it is determined that the requested operating point transitions from the stoichiometric region to the lean region. As long as the number of rotations is increased, the number of rotations may be decreased. Alternatively, the operating point control unit 102 appropriately performs an operation of decreasing the rotational speed after increasing the rotational speed as long as the required operating point does not fall below the rotational speed at the time when it is determined that the requested operating point transitions from the stoichiometric region to the lean region. It may be repeated. As a result, an endless or excessive increase in the number of rotations resulting from suppressing the decrease in the number of rotations is prevented.
- the actual engine output which is the actual output of the engine 200
- the regeneration control unit 103 uses a surplus output (that is, engine actual output ⁇ engine required output) of the engine actual output so that the motor generator MG2 regenerates (that is, performs regenerative power generation).
- Generator MG2 may be controlled.
- vehicle 10 that does not include motor generators MG1 and MG2 may be used instead of vehicle 10 that includes motor generators MG1 and MG2.
- the ignition angle of the engine 200 is adjusted (for example, retarded from the normal time) so that the engine The surplus output of the actual output may be canceled out.
- the air-fuel ratio control unit 101 does not have to switch the air-fuel ratio to the lean air-fuel ratio when step S12 is performed. That is, the air-fuel ratio control unit 101 may maintain the air-fuel ratio as the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio.
- the air-fuel ratio control unit 101 controls the fuel injection device so as to adjust (for example, increase) the fuel injection amount in accordance with the increase amount of the intake air amount of the engine 200, thereby reducing the air-fuel ratio to the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio. It may be maintained as it is.
- the operating point control unit 102 determines whether or not the intake amount of the engine 200 is greater than or equal to the provisional target amount (step S13).
- the provisional target predetermined amount is a value smaller than the final target amount that is the target value of the intake air amount when the engine 200 is operated in the lean combustion mode.
- the provisional target amount may be a value obtained by multiplying the final target amount by a predetermined coefficient.
- the predetermined coefficient is preferably larger than 0 and smaller than 1.
- An example of such a coefficient is 0.9. Of course, a value other than 0.9 may be adopted as the predetermined coefficient.
- the final target amount and the provisional target amount are specific examples of “first predetermined amount” and “second predetermined amount”, respectively.
- step S13 If it is determined as a result of the determination in step S13 that the intake air amount of the engine 200 is not equal to or greater than the provisional target amount (step S13: No), the operation in step S12 is repeated. That is, the intake amount of the engine 200 further increases while the decrease in the rotational speed of the engine 200 is suppressed.
- step S13 when it is determined that the intake amount of the engine 200 is greater than or equal to the provisional target amount (step S13: Yes), the operating point control unit 102 decreases the rotational speed of the engine 200. After the operation of suppressing the engine is finished, the operation state of the engine 200 is controlled so that the actual operating point of the engine 200 is positioned on the fuel efficiency optimum line (step S14). As a result, the rotational speed of the engine 200 decreases until the actual operating point of the engine 200 is positioned on the fuel efficiency optimal line.
- the air-fuel ratio control unit 101 determines whether or not the intake amount of the engine 200 is equal to or greater than the final target amount (step S15).
- the final target amount is the target value of the intake air amount when the engine 200 is operated in the lean combustion mode.
- step S15 when it is determined that the intake amount of the engine 200 is not equal to or greater than the final target amount (step S15: No), the operation in step S14 is repeated. That is, the operating point control unit 102 continues to control the operating state of the engine 200 so that the actual operating point of the engine 200 is positioned on the fuel efficiency optimal line.
- step S15 when it is determined that the intake amount of the engine 200 is equal to or greater than the final target amount (step S15: Yes), the air-fuel ratio control unit 101 changes the air-fuel ratio from the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio.
- step S16 switching to the lean air-fuel ratio
- the air-fuel ratio control unit 101 switches the air-fuel ratio to the lean air-fuel ratio by controlling the fuel injection device so as to adjust (for example, reduce) the fuel injection amount so that the air-fuel ratio becomes the lean air-fuel ratio. May be.
- the operating state of the engine 200 is switched from the stoichiometric combustion mode to the lean combustion mode.
- FIG. 3 illustrates a specific example (FIG.
- FIG. 3A is a timing chart showing a specific example (FIG. 3B) of parameters for specifying FIG. 4 is an operating point map showing operating points of the engine 200.
- FIG. 5 is a graph showing a relationship between the torque response of the engine 200 proportional to the intake air amount and the engine speed.
- the requested operating point of the engine 200 transitions from the stoichiometric region to the lean region at time t1. Then, it shall be determined.
- the trigger of the transition from the stoichiometric area to the lean area of the required operating point returns the accelerator pedal by the driver.
- An example of operation i.e., reduction in accelerator opening
- the actual operating point of the engine 200 transitions on the fuel efficiency optimum line.
- the rotational speed of the engine 200 decreases from time t1.
- the air-fuel ratio is switched from the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio to the lean air-fuel ratio.
- the rotation of the engine 200 is performed during a period from time t1 to time t2 when the intake amount reaches the provisional target amount.
- the decrease in the number is suppressed. Since the decrease in the rotational speed of the engine 200 is suppressed, as shown in FIG. 4A, the actual operating point of the engine 200 does not transition on the fuel efficiency optimum line during the period from time t1 to time t2. Thereafter, during a period from time t2 to time t3 when the intake air amount reaches the final target amount, the rotational speed of the engine 200 decreases.
- the actual operating point of the engine 200 transitions toward the fuel efficiency optimal line. Thereafter, at time t3 when the intake air amount reaches the final target amount, the air-fuel ratio is switched from the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio to the lean air-fuel ratio.
- the time required for the air-fuel ratio to be actually switched to the lean air-fuel ratio after it is determined that the required operating point of the engine 200 transitions from the stoichiometric region to the lean region is the time t4—Time t1.
- the required switching time is time t3 ⁇ time t1.
- the required switching time of the present embodiment is shorter than the required switching time of the comparative example.
- the reason why the required switching time of the present embodiment is shorter than the required switching time of the comparative example will be described.
- the torque of the engine 200 is proportional to the intake air amount
- the intake air amount increases when the engine speed of the engine 200 is relatively high compared to when the engine speed of the engine 200 is relatively low.
- the speed increases that is, the intake amount tends to increase). Therefore, as shown in the timing charts of the third stage in FIG. 3A and FIG.
- the rotational speed of the engine 200 is Compared with the comparative example in which the decrease is not suppressed, the increasing speed of the intake air amount becomes faster.
- the increase rate of the intake air amount is substantially the same as the required operating point of the engine 200 is lean from the stoichiometric region. This is inversely proportional to the time required for switching from the time when it is determined to shift to the region until the air-fuel ratio is actually switched to the lean air-fuel ratio. That is, as the increase rate of the intake air amount increases, the required switching time becomes shorter.
- the increase time of the intake air amount is relatively fast.
- the required switching time in the present embodiment is the intake air amount because the decrease in the rotational speed of the engine 200 is not suppressed.
- the increase rate of the time is shorter than the required switching time of the comparative example.
- the required switching time required until the air-fuel ratio is actually switched to the lean air-fuel ratio after it is determined that the required operating point of the engine 200 transitions from the stoichiometric region to the lean region is suitably shortened. That is, the required switching time required to switch the operating state of the engine 200 from the stoichiometric combustion mode to the lean combustion mode is suitably reduced.
- Such an effect of shortening the switching time is particularly useful when the engine 200 is a supercharged lean burn engine. This is because when the rotational speed of the engine 200 is reduced, the rotational speed of the turbine provided in the supercharger is also reduced, and therefore, it is difficult to increase the intake air amount.
- the decrease in the rotation speed of the engine 200 is suppressed, the decrease in the rotation speed of the turbine included in the supercharger is also suppressed, and as a result, the increase in the intake air amount is easily promoted. For this reason, the time required for switching is suitably shortened.
- the operation of suppressing the rotation speed of the engine 200 is performed only until the intake air amount increases to a temporary target amount that is smaller than the final target amount. That is, in the present embodiment, the operation for suppressing the rotation speed of the engine 200 is not performed while the intake air amount is equal to or larger than the provisional target amount and less than the final target amount. Assuming that the operation of suppressing the rotation speed of the engine 200 is performed while the intake air amount is greater than or equal to the temporary target amount and less than the final target amount, when the intake air amount exceeds the final target amount, There is a possibility that the number of revolutions may rapidly decrease.
- a decrease in the rotational speed of the engine 200 is allowed when the intake air amount becomes the temporary target amount or more. For this reason, compared with the case where the reduction
- the lower the predetermined coefficient the earlier the timing at which the decrease in the rotation speed of the engine 200 starts to be allowed. Become. The earlier the timing at which the decrease in the rotational speed of the engine 200 starts to be permitted, the more appropriately the rapid decrease in the rotational speed of the engine 200 is suppressed, but the intake air amount is relatively less likely to increase.
- the predetermined coefficient increases, the timing at which the decrease in the rotation speed of the engine 200 starts to be allowed is delayed.
- an appropriate predetermined coefficient may be set in consideration of the balance between the ease of increasing the intake air amount and the degree of suppression of the rapid decrease in the engine speed. preferable.
- the operating point control unit 102 suppresses a decrease in the rotational speed of the engine 200 even during a period in which the intake air amount is not less than the provisional target amount and not more than the final target amount.
- the operating state of the engine 200 may be controlled.
- the operating point control unit 102 ends the operation for suppressing the decrease in the rotational speed of the engine 200, and then the actual operating point of the engine 200 is on the fuel efficiency optimal line.
- the operating state of the engine 200 may be controlled so as to be located at
- motor generator MG2 when the engine actual output becomes larger than the engine required output due to the suppression of the decrease in the rotational speed of engine 200, motor generator MG2 outputs the surplus output of the engine actual output. Can be used to regenerate. That is, at least a part of the engine actual output that is surplus (for example, not used for powering the vehicle 10) due to suppressing the decrease in the rotational speed of the engine 200 is effectively utilized. For this reason, the deterioration of the fuel consumption of the vehicle 10 resulting from suppressing the fall of the rotation speed of the engine 200 is suppressed suitably.
- the stoichiometric combustion mode and the lean combustion mode are employed as the operating state of the engine 200.
- the air-fuel ratio is larger than that in the first combustion mode and the first combustion mode (that is, the air-fuel ratio is lean or lean).
- Two combustion modes may be employed.
- the operation state of the engine 200 is switched from the first combustion mode to the second combustion mode, the operation according to the above-described “switching operation for switching the operation state of the engine 200 from the stoichiometric combustion mode to the lean combustion mode”. (However, the stoichiometric combustion mode and the lean combustion mode are replaced with the first combustion mode and the second combustion mode, respectively).
- a rich combustion mode that is, an operation mode in which the air-fuel ratio is richer than the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio
- a lean combustion mode is employed. May be.
- an operation according to the above-described “switching operation for switching the operating state of the engine 200 from the stoichiometric combustion mode to the lean combustion mode” (however, The stoichiometric combustion mode is replaced with the rich combustion mode).
- a rich combustion mode and a stoichiometric combustion mode may be employed instead of the stoichiometric combustion mode and the lean combustion mode.
- a rich combustion mode and a stoichiometric combustion mode may be employed.
- an operation according to the above-described “switching operation for switching the operating state of the engine 200 from the stoichiometric combustion mode to the lean combustion mode” (however, The stoichiometric combustion mode and the lean combustion mode are replaced with the rich combustion mode and the stoichiometric combustion mode, respectively).
- the vehicle 10 employs a so-called split (power splitting) type hybrid system (for example, THS: Toyota Hybrid System). That is, in the above description, the hybrid system in which vehicle 10 appropriately divides the power of engine 200, the power of motor generator MG1 that mainly functions as a generator, and the power of motor generator MG2 that mainly functions as an electric motor by power split mechanism 310. Is adopted. However, the vehicle 10 may employ a series or parallel hybrid system that uses a continuously variable transmission (for example, CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission)) in addition to or instead of the power split mechanism 310. The above-described “switching operation for switching the operating state of the engine 200 from the stoichiometric combustion mode to the lean combustion mode” may also be applied to a series or parallel hybrid system using such a continuously variable transmission.
- a continuously variable transmission for example, CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission)

Abstract
Description

<2>
<3>
尚、インバータ400は、所謂PCU(Power Control Unit)の一部として構成されていてもよい。
ECU100は、CPU(Central Processing Unit)、ROM(Read Only Memory)及びRAM(Random Access Memory)等を備えている。
しかしながら、車両10は、モータジェネレータMG1及びMG2(更には、インバータ400及びバッテリ500)を備えていなくてもよい。この場合、車両10は、動力分割機構300に代えて、無段変速機(例えば、CVT(Continuously Variable Transmission))を備えていてもよい。
