- a receiving coil end is short-circuited through a capacitor having a very large capacitance value by an overvoltage protection circuit.
- the method can be considered.
- 14 and 15 show frequency characteristics when a large-capacity capacitor is used in the overvoltage protection circuit as a second comparative example.
- the horizontal axis represents the feeding frequency
- the vertical axis represents the received voltage after rectification by the rectification unit 203.
- the horizontal axis represents the feeding frequency
- the vertical axis represents the current of the clamp circuit as the overvoltage protection circuit.
- 14 and 15 show the frequency characteristics when the overvoltage protection circuit is turned on and when it is turned off.
- control unit 205 controls the operation of the protection circuit unit 214 so as not to cause a problem when the overvoltage protection circuit is turned on as in the comparative example described above. That is, the control unit 205 controls the operation of the protection circuit unit 214 to the first state when the power reception voltage exceeds a first threshold value that is a predetermined protection setting voltage. The control unit 205 also controls to switch the operation of the protection circuit unit 214 to the second state when the received voltage rises above the second threshold while the protection circuit unit 214 is operating in the first state.
- the control for setting the first state is control for turning on the operation of the overvoltage protection circuit of the protection circuit unit 214
- the control for setting the second state is the protection circuit. This is control for turning off the operation of the overvoltage protection circuit of the unit 214.
- control unit 205 determines whether or not the received voltage has increased beyond the second threshold based on the absolute value of the received voltage.
- FIG. 5 shows an example of the control of the operation state of the protection circuit unit 214 in the present embodiment.
- the control unit 205 measures the received voltage of the rectified power by the voltage measurement unit 213 (step S11).
- the control unit 205 determines whether or not the measured voltage value exceeds a first threshold that is a predetermined protection setting voltage (step S12). If the measured voltage value does not exceed the first threshold value (step S12; N), the process returns to step S11.
- the operation of the protection circuit unit 214 is set to the first state, that is, the operation as the overvoltage protection circuit is turned on (step S13). .
- the operation so far is substantially the same as the operation of a general overvoltage protection circuit.
- the control unit 205 turns on the operation of the overvoltage protection circuit of the protection circuit unit 214, and further measures the received voltage of the rectified power by the voltage measurement unit 213 (step S14). Next, the control unit 205 determines whether or not the measured voltage value is sufficiently lowered by the overvoltage protection circuit. First, the control unit 205 determines whether or not the measured voltage value has decreased by a hysteresis amount (XV) with respect to the first threshold value which is a predetermined protection setting voltage (step S15).
- XV hysteresis amount
- control unit 205 When the control unit 205 can confirm that the measured voltage value has decreased by the amount of hysteresis (XV) (step S15; N), the control unit 205 changes the operation of the overvoltage protection circuit of the protection circuit unit 214 to the second state, that is, The state is turned off (step S16), and the process returns to step S11.
- XV hysteresis
- the control unit 205 determines the measured voltage value. It is determined whether or not the second threshold is exceeded (step S17).
- step S17; N If the measured voltage value does not exceed the second threshold value (step S17; N), the process returns to step S14.
- step S17; Y When the measured voltage value exceeds the second threshold (step S17; Y), the operation of the overvoltage protection circuit of the protection circuit unit 214 is set to the second state, that is, the off state (step S18). The process returns to S14.
- the second threshold value is set to a value higher than the first threshold value which is a predetermined protection setting voltage, for example.
- the second threshold value is set to a value between the first threshold value and the absolute maximum rating of the IC constituting the circuit in the power receiving device 3.
- the first threshold value is reached, the voltage drops by the overvoltage protection circuit, so it is unlikely that the voltage will be higher than the first threshold value.
- an event such as a change in the coupling coefficient immediately after the operation of the overvoltage protection circuit or an instantaneously reached protection set voltage due to sudden noise is assumed. In this case, it is considered that there is an extremely high possibility that the voltage drops by turning off the overvoltage protection circuit.
- the control operation of the protection circuit unit 214 according to the present embodiment is such that the voltage is lower among the characteristics when the overvoltage protection circuit shown in FIGS. 12 and 13 is turned on and the characteristics when the overvoltage protection circuit is turned off. - FIG. 11 illustrates a second example of the control of the operation state of the protection circuit unit 214 in the present embodiment.
- the same step number is attached
- the control unit 205 measures the received voltage of the rectified power by the voltage measuring unit 213 (step S31). The control unit 205 determines whether or not the measured voltage value exceeds a first threshold that is a predetermined protection setting voltage (step S32). If the measured voltage value does not exceed the first threshold value (step S32; N), the process returns to step S31. When the measured voltage value exceeds the first threshold (step S32; Y), the operation of the protection circuit unit 214 is set to the first state, that is, the operation of the first overvoltage protection circuit 214A is turned on ( Step S33).
- the control unit 205 turns on the operation of the first overvoltage protection circuit 214A in the protection circuit unit 214, and further measures the received voltage of the rectified power by the voltage measurement unit 213 (step S34). Next, the control unit 205 determines whether or not the measured voltage value is sufficiently lowered by the first overvoltage protection circuit 214A. First, the control unit 205 determines whether or not the measured voltage value has decreased by a hysteresis amount (XV) with respect to the first threshold that is the predetermined protection setting voltage (step S35).

- the vertical axis represents the received voltage after rectification by the rectification unit 203.
- FIG. 8 shows frequency characteristics of the received voltage when one overvoltage protection circuit of the protection circuit unit 214 is turned on and when it is turned off. For example, in the example of FIG. 8, the voltage value can be lowered only to 50 V in the lowest frequency region. For this reason, for example, when the withstand voltage of the IC constituting the circuit of the power receiving device 3 is 50 V or less, there is a risk that the IC will be destroyed regardless of how the operation state of the protection circuit unit 214 is controlled.
- the protection circuit unit 214 since the protection circuit unit 214 includes a plurality of overvoltage protection circuits, it is possible to increase the number of different frequency characteristics as shown in FIG. [1.1 構成]
