Description
BELL-TYPE ROTARY SYSTEM TO HANDLE CONTAINERS
The present invention refers to a bell-type rotary system to handle containers, and in particular to a system capable of independently handling and rotating containers having a cylindrical, oval, squared, rectangular shape, etc. and of being able to insert them in cardboard packages-boxes with a specific orientation.
No automated systems are known in the art, which simultaneously allow taking, lifting, rotating, lowering and releasing relatively small containers, of the above mentioned shapes.
Object of the present invention is solving the above prior art problems, by providing a bell-type rotary system which allows independently handling and rotating containers of the above mentioned shapes, in order to place them in packages optimizing their internal packaging and increasing the number of containers inside a single package.
A further object of the present invention is providing a bell-type rotary system of the above
mentioned type which can be used for making heads in which such system is present in a plurality of items, in order to package containers (for examples bottles of oil, wine and beverages in general) in boxes having from 3 to 48 containers each.
The main innovation of the inventive system is the distribution support, which allows supporting, guiding and supplying with compressed air the central spindle, on which a specific catching pliers is assembled for the container which must be extracted .
Purpose of the support is allowing the vertical sliding of the spindle, without ever interrupting the rotary motion which is transmitted by a stepper motor with actuation for controlling the rotation.
The vertical sliding action is an important condition, because it allows the system not to be damaged and to safeguard product and package. An emergency sensor detects anomalies and blocks the movements .
Where required, a vision sensor is further provided, which detects the orientation of the container and communicates its position, so that it can assume again its correct position.
The above and other objects and advantages of the present invention, as will result from the following description, are obtained with a rotary bell-shaped system as claimed in claim 1. Preferred embodiments and non-trivial variations of the present invention are the subject matter of the dependent claims.
It is intended that all enclosed claims are an integral part of the present description^
The present invention will be better described by some preferred embodiments thereof, provided as a non-limiting example, with reference to the enclosed drawings, in which:
- Figure 1 is a front view of an embodiment of the system according to the present invention in a first vertical operating position thereof;
- Figure 2 is a sectional view of the system of Figure 1;
- Figure 3 is a front view of an embodiment of the system according to the present invention in a second vertical operating position thereof;
- Figure 4 is a sectional view of the system of Figure 3;
- Figure 5 is a front view of the system of the invention in a rotation position thereof;
- Figure 6 is a front view of the system of the invention in another rotation position thereof; and
- Figure 7 is a perspective view of a head of a machine which contains a plurality of systems according to the present invention.
With reference to the Figures, a preferred embodiment of the bell-type rotary system of the present invention is shown and described. It will be immediately obvious that numerous variations and modifications (for example related to shape, sizes, arrangements and parts with equivalent functionalities) could be made to what is described, without departing from the scope of the invention as appears from the enclosed claims.
With reference to the Figures, the bell-type rotary system 100 to handle containers (not shown, but preferably bottles of oil, wine and beverages in general) substantially comprises:
at least one bell 508 adapted to be placed around a neck of a container for catching nd handling it;
at least one shaft 4 operatively connected to the bell 508 and adapted to slide along a longitudinal axis of the system 100, such shaft 4 being hollow and adapted to allow the passage therein of an hydraulic fluid for its longitudinal actuation;
at least one bush 507 with linear sliding adapted to be operatively coupled with the shaft 4;
- at least one distribution support 102 adapted to support, guide and supply with hydraulic fluid the shaft 4, such distribution support 102 comprising: motored actuating means 501 adapted to subject to a rotary motion the shaft 4; a spacer element 2 placed around the bush 507; and at least two pairs of ball bearings 504, 505 respectively placed one upstream and one downstream of the spacer element 2 to allow the rotation movement; and - supplying means of the hydraulic actuating fluid, operatively connected to the distribution support 102.
Moreover, the bell 508 contains therein a catching element 104 adapted to be actuated by the hydraulic fluid and adapted to assume a rest
position wherein it does not work and a catch position of the neck of the container.
The inventive system 100 further comprises a blocking element 6 of the passage of the hydraulic fluid connected to the spacer 2 from the opposite side with respect to the distribution support 102.
Still more, the system 100 can comprise at least one elastic means 509, in particular a spring, placed around the shaft 4 and adapted to take back the shaft 4 to its rest position after an operation thereof for catching, lifting, possibly rotating and placing the container.
In particular, the above motored actuating means 501 are a stepper motor, but could obviously be any other motor adapted for such purpose.
And still in particular, the hydraulic actuating fluid is compressed air, but could be any other hydraulic fluid adapted for such purpose.
The inventive system 100 further comprises at least one emergency sensor which detects anomalies and blocks the movements.
The system 100 can further comprise at least one vision sensor adapted to detect an orientation of the container and communicate its position, in order to take it back to its correct position.
Figure 7 then shows a packaging head 200 wherein there are a plurality of systems 100 as described above.
Such packaging head 200 preferably comprises a supporting structure 202 equipped with motoring means 204 and with managing means adapted to operatively handle and actuate all or part of the plurality of systems 100. It is thereby possible to fill-in various types and shapes of packages, containing varying numbers of containers, by suitable actuating all or only some of the systems 100 to handle them.
