Abstract

El objeto de la invención es un lecho para animales, especialmente para gatos, que se obtiene a partir de un producto natural como es el residuo de la pulpa y la cáscara que se generan durante la fabricación de zumos de cítricos; asimismo se describe en el presente documento el proceso de fabricación del mismo. Este producto se presenta como solución a varios problemas. Uno de los más importantes es la reutilización del residuo generado en plantas de procesado de zumos a partir de cítricos. El proceso de fabricación de este producto comienza con el traslado del residuo a la planta, donde se le añade un pequeño porcentaje de cal o de hidróxido sódico para su estabilización y prensado para la eliminación de la mayor cantidad de humedad posible, una vez estabilizado el producto se procede a su deshidratación en un secador de tambor rotatorio para conseguir reducir la humedad.
