Abstract

The invention relates to the production of sown crops. The mechanized sowing of crop seeds into soil is carried out during a period when the moisture content of the soil is more than 2% higher than the moisture content threshold for soil workability when soil temperatures are above zero. A driving means such as a "Bars UTES 271" or an air-cushion vehicle capable of traveling at a speed of from 6 to 80 km/h over soil having a moisture content which is from 2 percent up to as much as 100 percent higher than the upper moisture content threshold for soil workability is used. Sowing is carried out directly onto sprouting weeds with no preliminary soil cultivation operation being carried out to kill the weeds; 1-5 days prior to the emergence of shoots, the soil is mulched by means of the chemical treatment of the weeds with a non-selective herbicide using a sprayer mounted on the driving means.
