Description

回転電機駆動装置
 本発明は、交流の回転電機を駆動制御する回転電機駆動装置に関する。
 近年、省エネルギや環境負荷軽減等の観点から、回転電機を駆動力源として備えたハイブリッド車両や電動車両が注目を集めている。このような車両においては、回転電機が駆動力源(モータ)として機能する際に電力を供給すると共に、当該回転電機が電力源(ジェネレータ)として機能する際に発電された電力を蓄電するバッテリなどの直流電源が備えられる。回転電機が駆動力源(モータ)として機能する際には、直流電源から供給される直流電力がインバータにより交流電力に変換されて回転電機が駆動される。回転電機がジェネレータとして機能する際には、回転電機により発電された交流電力がインバータにより直流電力に変換されて直流電源へ回生される。
 直流電源とインバータとの間には、直流電力を平滑する平滑コンデンサが備えられている。一般的に、インバータはスイッチング素子を用いて構成され、これらのスイッチング素子は所定のスイッチング周波数でスイッチング制御される。その結果、スイッチング周波数に応じた脈動が直流電力に重畳される。平滑コンデンサは、この脈動などの直流電力の変動を抑制し、スイッチング素子に印加される電圧がスイッチング素子の耐圧を超えることや、電流の変動によって直流電源が劣化することを抑制する。
 一般的に、ハイブリッド車両や電動車両の駆動力源となる回転電機を駆動するためのインバータの直流側の電圧は、200~400[V]程度の高電圧である。従って、平滑コンデンサには、脈動による変動分も考慮しつつ、このような高電圧に対する高耐圧性能が求められる。また、インバータを構成するスイッチング素子の耐圧を考慮すると、平滑コンデンサには、脈動成分を抑制するために充分な静電容量を確保することが求められる。このため、一般的に平滑コンデンサは、高価となり、その体格も大きくなり、大きな設置スペースも必要となる。また、インバータと平滑コンデンサとは、回転電機駆動装置として一体的に設置されることや、互いに近傍に設置されることが多い。特に、車載用途の回転電機駆動装置には、重量や設置スペースなどの観点から軽量化、小型化が求められ、インバータや平滑コンデンサの軽量化、小型化が望まれる。
 例えば、特開2009-106046号公報(特許文献1)には、冷却機構も含めて、省スペース化が図られた回転電機駆動装置(電力変換装置)が開示されている。この回転電機駆動装置では、スイッチング素子により構成されたパワーモジュールが、放熱部を有したケースの内側の平面上に配置される。そして、パワーモジュールに電気的に接続された平滑コンデンサは、パワーモジュールが配置された平面よりも一段低い平面上にパワーモジュールに隣接して配置される(第7~8段落、図1等)。高耐圧や大容量が求められる平滑コンデンサは、その体格が大きくなる傾向がある。特許文献1では、平滑コンデンサの高さに対応させて、放熱部とパワーモジュールとを配置することによって、回転電機駆動装置の全体の高さを抑制し、省スペース化を実現している。
 このように、インバータの回路部(パワーモジュール)、冷却機構、平滑コンデンサなどのレイアウトを工夫することによって、ある程度の省スペース化を実現することは可能である。しかし、耐圧や静電容量によって規定される平滑コンデンサの体格をより小型化して、装置全体の軽量化、小型化を実現するには至っていない。平滑コンデンサの容量を削減すると、小型化は実現可能であるが、直流電源やスイッチング素子の劣化抑制効果が低下する可能性が生じる。即ち、平滑コンデンサを小型化するために容量を小さくすると、直流電力を平滑化する能力が低下するため、インバータの直流側の電圧であるシステム電圧や直流電源を流れる電流である電源電流の脈動が大きくなってくる。その結果、直流電源やスイッチング素子の劣化の抑制効果が低下する可能性が生じる。

 上記背景に鑑みて、インバータの直流側の電圧及び電流の脈動などの変動を抑制しつつ、当該直流側の平滑コンデンサを低容量化することが可能な技術が望まれる。
 上記課題に鑑みた本発明に係る、交流の回転電機を駆動制御する回転電機駆動装置の特徴構成は、
 直流電源と前記回転電機との間に電気的に介在されて、直流と交流との間で電力を変換するインバータと、
 前記直流電源と前記インバータとの間に電気的に介在され、前記インバータの直流側の正極と負極との間に接続される平滑コンデンサと、
 前記インバータのスイッチング素子を、予め規定されたスイッチング周波数に従ってスイッチング制御するインバータ制御部と、を備え、
 前記インバータ制御部は、前記インバータの直流側の電圧であるシステム電圧の脈動幅と前記直流電源を流れる電流である電源電流の脈動幅とに応じ、前記スイッチング周波数を、前記回転電機のトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定する点にある。
 本特徴構成のようにスイッチング周波数を可変に設定することで、回転電機のトルク及び回転数に応じて、システム電圧及び電源電流の脈動を小さく抑えるようにスイッチング周波数を適切に設定することが可能となる。それにより、システム電圧及び電源電流の脈動幅をそれぞれ所定の許容幅の範囲内に収めることが容易となる。従って、インバータの直流側の電圧及び電流の変動を抑制しつつ、平滑コンデンサを低容量化することが可能となる。
 ここで、インバータの直流側の電圧及び電流の変動を抑制するためには、回転電機のトルク及び回転数に応じて、システム電圧及び電源電流の脈動幅がそれぞれについて許される範囲として予め規定された許容幅の範囲内となるようにすることが望ましい。そこで、1つの態様として、前記インバータ制御部は、前記インバータの直流側の電圧であるシステム電圧の脈動幅と前記直流電源を流れる電流である電源電流の脈動幅とがそれぞれ予め規定された許容幅の範囲内に収まるように、前記スイッチング周波数を、前記回転電機のトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定すると好適である。
 本発明に係る、交流の回転電機を駆動制御する回転電機駆動装置のもう1つの特徴構成は、
 直流電源と前記回転電機との間に電気的に介在されて、直流と交流との間で電力を変換するインバータと、
 前記直流電源と前記インバータとの間に電気的に介在され、前記インバータの直流側の正極と負極との間に接続される平滑コンデンサと、
 前記インバータのスイッチング素子を、予め規定されたスイッチング周波数に従ってスイッチング制御するインバータ制御部と、を備え、
 前記インバータ制御部は、前記インバータの直流側の電圧であるシステム電圧の脈動幅が予め規定された許容幅の範囲内に収まるように、前記スイッチング周波数を、前記回転電機のトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定する点にある。
 本特徴構成のようにスイッチング周波数を可変に設定することで、回転電機のトルク及び回転数に応じて、システム電圧の脈動を小さく抑えるようにスイッチング周波数を適切に設定することが可能となる。それにより、システム電圧の脈動幅を所定の許容幅の範囲内に収めることが容易となる。従って、インバータの直流側の電圧の変動を抑制しつつ、平滑コンデンサを低容量化することが可能となる。
 ここで、インバータの直流側の電圧の変動を抑制するためには、回転電機のトルク及び回転数に応じて、システム電圧の脈動幅が当該脈動幅について許される範囲として予め規定された許容幅の範囲内となるようにすることが望ましい。そこで、1つの態様として、前記インバータ制御部は、前記インバータの直流側の電圧であるシステム電圧の脈動幅が予め規定された許容幅の範囲内に収まるように、前記スイッチング周波数を、前記回転電機のトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定すると好適である。
 本発明に係る、交流の回転電機を駆動制御する回転電機駆動装置のもう1つの特徴構成は、
 直流電源と前記回転電機との間に電気的に介在されて、直流と交流との間で電力を変換するインバータと、
 前記直流電源と前記インバータとの間に電気的に介在され、前記インバータの直流側の正極と負極との間に接続される平滑コンデンサと、
 前記インバータのスイッチング素子を、予め規定されたスイッチング周波数に従ってスイッチング制御するインバータ制御部と、を備え、
 前記インバータ制御部は、前記直流電源を流れる電流である電源電流の脈動幅が予め規定された許容幅の範囲内に収まるように、前記スイッチング周波数を、前記回転電機のトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定する点にある。
 本特徴構成のようにスイッチング周波数を可変に設定することで、回転電機のトルク及び回転数に応じて、電源電流の脈動を小さく抑えるようにスイッチング周波数を適切に設定することが可能となる。それにより、電源電流の脈動幅を所定の許容幅の範囲内に収めることが容易となる。従って、インバータの直流側の電流の変動を抑制しつつ、平滑コンデンサを低容量化することが可能となる。
 ここで、インバータの直流側の電流の変動を抑制するためには、回転電機のトルク及び回転数に応じて、電源電流の脈動幅が当該脈動幅について許される範囲として予め規定された許容幅の範囲内となるようにすることが望ましい。そこで、1つの態様として、前記インバータ制御部は、前記直流電源を流れる電流である電源電流の脈動幅が予め規定された許容幅の範囲内に収まるように、前記スイッチング周波数を、前記回転電機のトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定すると好適である。
 一般的に、回転電機のトルク及び回転数が大きくなるに従って、システム電圧や電源電流の脈動幅も大きくなる。この相対的に大きくなる脈動幅は、スイッチング周期を短くする(換言すれば、スイッチング周波数を高くする)ことによって補償することが可能である。1つの態様として、前記インバータ制御部は、前記回転電機のトルクと回転数とを乗じて算出される回転電機パワー又は前記システム電圧に対する交流電圧指令値の実効値の比率を表す変調率が大きくなるに従って、前記スイッチング周波数を高く設定すると好適である。
 一般的に直流電源は、抵抗成分(R成分)や誘導成分(L成分)を有している。従って、平滑コンデンサの容量成分(C成分)と共にRLC回路が構成され、システム電圧をシステム電流(インバータの直流側の電流)で除した直流側電圧ゲインの周波数特性は、共振点を有するものとなる。直流側電圧ゲインの値は、周波数がゼロから高くなるに従って増加し、共振周波数において最大値(共振点)となり、この共振点を変曲点として周波数が高くなるに従って減少していく。また、システム電圧に現れる脈動成分の内で、影響の大きい周波数の1つは、スイッチング周波数の2倍の周波数成分であることが知られている。上述した共振周波数が、スイッチング周波数の2倍の周波数と近い場合には、直流側電圧ゲインの値が大きいことから、脈動の振幅も大きくなる。従って、スイッチング周波数の2倍の周波数を共振周波数から遠ざけることが好ましい。一方、スイッチング周波数に起因する現象としては、可聴域における騒音も知られている。従って、脈動の抑制と共に、騒音の抑制も求められる。
 上記に鑑み、例えば直流側電圧ゲインの値が最大となる周波数よりも高い周波数となるようにスイッチング周波数を設定すれば、スイッチング周波数の2倍の周波数はさらに高い周波数となり、共振周波数から遠ざかる。また、そのように算出されるスイッチング周波数が可聴域に含まれることになる場合には、予め規定された制限周波数以上の周波数となるようにスイッチング周波数を設定すれば、可聴域における騒音を抑制することもできる。その結果、インバータの直流側の電圧及び電流の変動を抑制しつつ、可聴域における騒音も抑制できるので好適である。1つの態様として、前記インバータ制御部は、可聴域以上の値に予め規定された制限周波数以上の周波数となるように、かつ、前記システム電圧を前記インバータの直流側の電流であるシステム電流で除した直流側電圧ゲインの周波数特性において、前記直流側電圧ゲインの値が最大となる周波数よりも高い周波数となるように、前記スイッチング周波数を設定すると好適である。
 さらに、例えば直流側電圧ゲインの値が周波数をゼロとしたときの値と同じとなる周波数よりも高い周波数となるようにスイッチング周波数を設定すれば、スイッチング周波数の2倍の周波数はさらに高い周波数となり、共振周波数からさらに遠ざかる。よって、インバータの直流側の電圧及び電流の変動をより確実に抑制できるので好適である。上記の可聴域における騒音抑制も考慮し、1つの態様として、前記インバータ制御部は、可聴域以上の値に予め規定された制限周波数以上の周波数となるように、かつ、前記直流側電圧ゲインの周波数特性において、前記直流側電圧ゲインの値が周波数をゼロとしたときの値と同じとなる周波数以上の周波数となるように、前記スイッチング周波数を設定すると好適である。
 現状における制御の実情を考慮すれば、スイッチング周波数の可変設定はステップ的とすることが現実的である。一方、回転電機の動作は、一般的に、トルクと回転数とを乗じて算出されるパワーによって規定される動作領域に応じて制御される。そこで、回転電機の動作領域と、スイッチング周波数のステップ的な設定とがリンクされていると好都合である。1つの態様として、前記回転電機のトルクと回転数とを乗じて算出されるパワーに応じて複数の動作領域が設定され、前記インバータ制御部は、前記スイッチング周波数を前記動作領域毎に異なる値に設定すると好適である。

 以下、ハイブリッド車両や電動車両等の駆動力源となる回転電機MGを制御する回転電機駆動装置を例として、本発明の実施形態を図面に基づいて説明する。図1のブロック図は、回転電機駆動装置100の構成を模式的に示している。車両の駆動力源としての回転電機MGは、複数相の交流(ここでは3相交流)により動作する回転電機であり、電動機としても発電機としても機能することができる。
 鉄道のように架線から電力の供給を受けることができない自動車のような車両では、回転電機を駆動するための電力源としてニッケル水素電池やリチウムイオン電池などの二次電池(バッテリ)や、電気二重層キャパシタなどの直流電源を搭載している。本実施形態では、回転電機MGに電力を供給するための大電圧大容量の直流電源として、例えば電源電圧200~400[V]のバッテリ11(高圧直流電源)が備えられている。バッテリ11を流れる直流電流は、以下の説明において適宜“バッテリ電流(電源電流)”と称する。回転電機MGは、交流の回転電機であるから、バッテリ11と回転電機MGとの間には、直流と交流との間で電力変換を行うインバータ10が備えられている。インバータ10の直流側の正極電源ラインP(高圧直流正極ライン)と負極電源ラインN(高圧直流負極ライン)との間の直流電圧は、以下の説明において適宜“システム電圧Vdc”と称する。バッテリ11は、インバータ10を介して回転電機MGに電力を供給可能であると共に、回転電機MGが発電して得られた電力を蓄電可能である。インバータ10とバッテリ11との間には、直流電圧(システム電圧Vdc)を平滑化する平滑コンデンサ40(直流リンクコンデンサ)が備えられている。平滑コンデンサ40は、回転電機MGの消費電力の変動に応じて変動する直流電圧を安定化させる。
 バッテリ11は、複数のバッテリセルにより構成されており、バッテリ11には、内部抵抗(抵抗成分)や内部インダクタンス(誘導成分)を含む内部インピーダンスが存在する。本実施形態では、これらをバッテリ抵抗Rb、バッテリインダクタンスLbと称する。また、バッテリ11とインバータ10とは、例えばバスバーと称される金属配線部材などを用いて接続されるが、このようなバスバーにも、導体抵抗(抵抗成分)や導体インダクタンス(誘導成分)を含む導体インピーダンスが存在する。つまり、バッテリ11と平滑コンデンサ40とインバータ10とを接続する配線には、配線抵抗や配線インダクタンスを含む配線インピーダンスが存在する。本実施形態では、これらを配線抵抗Rw、配線インダクタンスLwと称する。
 インバータ10からバッテリ11側を見た際の、バスバーなどの配線部材を含む直流電源部の内部抵抗(電源内部抵抗Rps)は、バッテリ抵抗Rbと配線抵抗Rwとの和である。また、直流電源部の内部インダクタンス(電源内部インダクタンスLps)は、バッテリインダクタンスLbと配線インダクタンスLwとの和である。ただし、多くの場合、配線抵抗Rwに比べてバッテリ抵抗Rbが遙かに大きく、配線インダクタンスLwに比べてバッテリインダクタンスLbの方が遙かに大きいので、以下の説明においては、電源内部抵抗Rpsとしてバッテリ抵抗Rbを用い、電源内部インダクタンスLpsとしてバッテリインダクタンスLbを用いる。尚、図2のブロック図は、直流電源部としてのバッテリ11の端子間電圧(バッテリ電圧Vb)とシステム電圧Vdcとの関係を示す制御モデルである。
 インバータ10は、システム電圧Vdcを有する直流電力を複数相(nを自然数としてn相、ここでは3相)の交流電力に変換して回転電機MGに供給すると共に、回転電機MGが発電した交流電力を直流電力に変換して直流電源に供給する。インバータ10は、複数のスイッチング素子を有して構成される。スイッチング素子には、IGBT(insulated gate bipolar transistor)やパワーMOSFET(metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor)などのパワー半導体素子を適用すると好適である。また、これらのSi(シリコン)デバイスに代えて、SiC-MOSFETやSiC-SIT(static induction transistor)などのSiC(シリコンカーバイド)デバイスや、GaN-MOSET(Gallium Nitride)等の高周波での動作が可能な複合化合物パワーデバイスをスイッチング素子に適用しても好適である。図1に示すように、本実施形態では、一例として、スイッチング素子にIGBT3が用いられる。
 直流と複数相の交流(ここでは3相交流)との間で電力変換するインバータ10は、よく知られているように複数相(ここでは3相)のそれぞれに対応する数のアームを有するブリッジ回路により構成される。つまり、図1に示すように、インバータ10の直流正極側(直流電源の正極側の正極電源ラインP)と直流負極側(直流電源の負極側の負極電源ラインN)との間に2つのIGBT3が直列に接続されて1つのアーム10Aが構成される。ここで、正極電源ラインPに接続されるIGBT3を上段側IGBT(上段側スイッチング素子又はハイサイドスイッチ)と称し、負極電源ラインNに接続されるIGBT3を下段側IGBT(負極側スイッチング素子又はローサイドスイッチ)と称する。
 複数相の交流が3相交流の場合には、この直列回路(1つのアーム10A)が3回線(3相:10U,10V,10W)並列接続される。つまり、回転電機MGのU相、V相、W相に対応するステータコイルのそれぞれに一組の直列回路(アーム10A)が対応したブリッジ回路が構成される。各相の上段側IGBTのコレクタ端子は正極電源ラインPに接続され、エミッタ端子は各相の下段側IGBTのコレクタ端子に接続される。また、各相の下段側IGBTのエミッタ端子は、負極電源ラインNに接続される。対となる各相のIGBT3による直列回路(アーム10A)の中間点、つまり、上段側IGBTと下段側IGBTとの接続点は、回転電機MGのステータコイルにそれぞれ接続される。尚、IGBT3には、それぞれフリーホイールダイオード39(回生ダイオード)が並列に接続される。フリーホイールダイオード39は、カソード端子がIGBT3のコレクタ端子に接続され、アノード端子がIGBT3のエミッタ端子に接続される態様で、各IGBT3に対して並列に接続される。
 図1に示すように、インバータ10は、制御装置8により制御される。制御装置8は、マイクロコンピュータ等の論理回路を中核部材として構築されたECU(electronic control unit)を有して構成されている。本実施形態では、ECUは、不図示の車両ECU等の他の制御装置等からの要求信号として制御装置8に提供される回転電機MGの目標トルクTMに基づいて、ベクトル制御法を用いた電流フィードバック制御を行って、インバータ10を介して回転電機MGを制御する。尚、ベクトル制御法は、良く知られているように、複数相(本例では3相)のそれぞれのステータコイルに流れる電流を、ロータの磁極の方向であるd軸とそれに直交するq軸との2つのベクトル成分に座標変換して演算を行う手法である。制御装置8のECUは、電流フィードバック制御のために種々の機能部を有して構成されており、各機能部は、マイクロコンピュータ等のハードウェアとソフトウェア(プログラム)との協働により実現される。本実施形態では、この制御装置8が、本発明におけるインバータ制御部に相当する。
 回転電機MGの各相のステータコイルを流れる実電流は電流センサ12により検出され、制御装置8はその検出結果を取得する。また、回転電機MGのロータの各時点での磁極位置は、回転センサ13により検出され、制御装置8はその検出結果を取得する。回転センサ13は、例えばレゾルバ等により構成される。ここで、磁極位置は、電気角上でのロータの回転角度を表している。制御装置8のECUは、電流センサ12及び回転センサ13の検出結果を用いて、回転電機MGをフィードバック制御する。
 制御装置8のECUは、複数の変調モードの内から選択される特定の変調モードに従って、回転電機MGを制御する。本実施形態では、図9に示すように、複数の変調モードには、3相変調モード(SVPWM)と2相変調モード(DPWM)とが含まれる。3相変調モードは、搬送波と各相の交流電圧指令値に従う信号波との比較に基づき、3相分のPWMパルス信号を出力して回転電機MGを制御するモードである。2相変調モードは、2相分(順次切り替える)のPWMパルス信号を出力すると共に残りの1相(順次切り替える)はオンオフ信号を出力して回転電機MGを制御するモードである。2相変調モードの際には、弱め界磁制御が並行して実行される場合がある(DPWM+AFR)。弱め界磁制御は、回転電機MGの回転数の上昇に伴って逆起電力が上昇した際にも目標トルクを出力させるべく、d軸電流及びq軸電流を減少させる制御である。これらは、予め規定されたマップに基づき、回転電機MGのトルク及び回転数に応じて択一的に選択される。
 車両には、高圧直流電源としてのバッテリ11の他に、バッテリ11よりも低電圧の電源である低圧バッテリ(低圧直流電源)も搭載されている(不図示)。低圧バッテリの電源電圧は、例えば12~24[V]であり、制御装置8(ECU)や、オーディオシステム、灯火装置、室内照明、計器類のイルミネーション、パワーウィンドウなどの電装品や、これらを制御する制御装置に電力を供給する。制御装置8は、レギュレータ回路等を備えて構成され、マイクロコンピュータ等を動作させるために適した電源を低圧バッテリから供給される電力によって生成する。
 インバータ10を構成する各IGBT3の制御端子であるゲート端子は、ドライブ回路7を介して制御装置8(ECU)に接続されており、それぞれ個別にスイッチング制御される。回転電機MGを駆動するための高圧系回路と、マイクロコンピュータなどを中核とするECUなどの低圧系回路とは、動作電圧(回路の電源電圧)が大きく異なる。このため、低圧系回路の制御装置8(ECU)により生成されたIGBT3の制御信号(スイッチング制御信号)は、ドライブ回路7を介して高圧回路系のゲート駆動信号として各IGBT3に供給される。ドライブ回路7は、フォトカプラやトランスなどの絶縁素子を有して構成されることが多い。
 上述したように、制御装置8は、マイクロコンピュータなどの論理回路を中核として構成される。本実施形態では、制御装置8は、回転電機駆動プログラムを実行するマイクロコンピュータを中核として構成されている。このマイクロコンピュータは、CPUコア、プログラムメモリ、パラメータメモリ、ワークメモリ、タイマ、ポートなどを有して構成されている。CPUコアは、マイクロコンピュータの中核であり、命令レジスタや命令デコーダ、種々の演算の実行主体となるALU(arithmetic logic unit)、フラグレジスタ、汎用レジスタ、割り込みコントローラなどを有して構成されている。本実施形態では、1つの半導体チップによりマイクロコンピュータが構成されている形態を例示するが、複数の部品を組み合わせてマイクロコンピュータユニットが構成されている形態をとることももちろん可能である。
 プログラムメモリは、回転電機駆動プログラムが格納された不揮発性のメモリである。パラメータメモリは、プログラムの実行の際に参照される種々のパラメータが格納された不揮発性のメモリである。パラメータメモリは、プログラムメモリと区別することなく構築されてもよい。プログラムメモリやパラメータメモリは、例えばフラッシュメモリなどによって構成されると好適である。ワークメモリは、プログラム実行中の一時データを一時記憶するメモリである。ワークメモリは、揮発性で問題なく、高速にデータの読み書きが可能なDRAM(dynamic RAM)やSRAM(static RAM)により構成される。
 タイマは、マイクロコンピュータのクロック周期を最小分解能として、時間を計測する。例えば、タイマは、プログラムの実行周期を監視する。また、タイマは、インバータ10のIGBT3を駆動するスイッチング制御信号の有効時間を計測して、当該スイッチング制御信号を生成する。また、タイマは、1回の電流フィードバック制御を実行する周期(基本制御周期)や、スイッチング制御信号の出力周期(スイッチング周期Tc)など、プログラムやパラメータによって予め規定される制御周期を管理する。ポートは、インバータ10のIGBT3のスイッチング制御信号などをマイクロコンピュータの端子を介して出力したり、マイクロコンピュータに入力される回転センサ13からの回転検出信号や、電流センサ12からの電流検出信号を受け取ったりする端子制御部である。
 ところで、図2に示すように、直流電源部としてのバッテリ11の制御モデルの伝達関数には、周波数に依存するインピーダンス成分として、バッテリインダクタンスLbと、平滑コンデンサ40の静電容量(直流リンクキャパシタンスCd)とが含まれている。従って、システム電圧Vdcは、周波数の関数となる。図3及び図4は、システム電圧Vdcとインバータ10に流れるシステム電流Idcとにより規定されるゲイン(直流側電圧ゲイン)の周波数特性を示している。システム電流Idcを基準としたシステム電圧Vdcのゲイン(直流側電圧ゲイン)は、バッテリインダクタンスLbを考慮しない場合には、下記式(1)により規定され、図3に示すような周波数特性を示す。また、直流側電圧ゲインは、バッテリインダクタンスLbを考慮する場合には、下記式(2)により規定され、図4に示すような周波数特性を示す。

 式(1)、式(2)、及び図3、図4からわかるように、平滑コンデンサ40の静電容量(直流リンクキャパシタンスCd)が大きい方が、直流側電圧ゲインは小さい。換言すれば、平滑コンデンサ40の小型化を図るために、平滑コンデンサ40を低容量化すると、直流側電圧ゲインが大きくなり、システム電圧Vdcの脈動を抑制する効果が減少する。さらに、図3と図4との比較から明らかなように、直流電源部のインピーダンスとしてバッテリインダクタンスLbを考慮した場合には、バッテリインダクタンスLbと直流リンクキャパシタンスCdとの共振が生じ、この共振も考慮する必要がある。つまり、直流電源部のインピーダンスとしてバッテリインダクタンスLbを考慮しない場合には、単純に平滑コンデンサ40を低容量化すると直流側電圧ゲインが大きくなるだけである。これに対して、バッテリインダクタンスLbを考慮する場合には、共振によって直流側電圧ゲインが非常に大きくなる周波数が出現する。図4に例示するように、直流リンクキャパシタンスCdがC1[μF]の場合の共振点(Q2)におけるゲインの値は、直流リンクキャパシタンスCdがその10倍のC2(=10・C1)[μF]の場合の共振点(Q1)におけるゲインの値に比べて非常に大きい。
 また、システム電流Idcを基準としたバッテリ電流Ibのゲイン(バッテリ電流ゲイン(直流電流ゲインと称することもできる))も周波数の関数となる。図5及び図6は、バッテリ電流Ibとインバータ10に流れるシステム電流Idcとにより規定されるゲイン(バッテリ電流ゲイン)の周波数特性を示している。バッテリ電流ゲインは、バッテリインダクタンスLbを考慮しない場合には、下記式(3)により規定され、図5に示すような周波数特性を示す。また、バッテリ電流ゲインは、バッテリインダクタンスLbを考慮する場合には、下記式(4)により規定され、図6に示すような周波数特性を示す。

 式(3)、式(4)、及び図5、図6からわかるように、平滑コンデンサ40の静電容量(直流リンクキャパシタンスCd)が大きい方が、バッテリ電流ゲインは小さい。換言すれば、平滑コンデンサ40の小型化を図るために、平滑コンデンサ40を低容量化すると、ゲインが大きくなり、バッテリ電流Ibに生じる脈動を抑制する効果が減少する。さらに、図5と図6との比較から明らかなように、直流電源部のインピーダンスとしてバッテリインダクタンスLbを考慮した場合には、バッテリインダクタンスLbと直流リンクキャパシタンスCdとの共振が生じ、この共振も考慮する必要がある。つまり、直流電源部のインピーダンスとしてバッテリインダクタンスLbを考慮しない場合には、単純に平滑コンデンサ40を低容量化するとバッテリ電流ゲインが大きくなるだけである。これに対して、バッテリインダクタンスLbを考慮する場合には、共振によってバッテリ電流ゲインが非常に大きくなる周波数が出現する。図6に例示するように、直流リンクキャパシタンスCdがC1[μF]の場合の共振点(Q2)におけるゲインの値は、直流リンクキャパシタンスCdが10倍のC2[μF]の場合の共振点(Q1)におけるゲインの値に比べて非常に大きい。
 尚、バッテリ11の抵抗成分(R成分)や誘導成分(L成分)及び平滑コンデンサの容量成分(C成分)の内、周波数に依存するインピーダンス成分はL成分とC成分である。よって、直流側電圧ゲインやバッテリ電流ゲインの値は、周波数がゼロから高くなるに従って増加し、共振周波数において最大値(共振点)となり、この共振点を変曲点として周波数が高くなるに従って減少していく。例えばスイッチング周波数が100[Hz]以上での解析においては、バッテリ11の抵抗成分(R成分)と誘導成分(L成分)のみに基づいて共振周波数が算出されてもよい。
 システム電圧Vdcやバッテリ電流Ibの脈動は、インバータ10のIGBT3のスイッチングに伴う電流や電圧の変動に伴って発生する。つまり、システム電圧Vdcやバッテリ電流Ibの脈動は、IGBT3のスイッチング周波数fc(スイッチング周期Tcの逆数)に対応して発生する。例えば、スイッチング周波数fcの2倍の周波数成分“2fc”を有する脈動が発生することが知られている(リップル周波数)。直流リンクキャパシタンスCdとバッテリインダクタンスLbとの共振周波数(後述する“frp”)が、リップル周波数“2fc”と近い場合には、直流側電圧ゲインの値が大きいことから、脈動が大きくなる。共振周波数frpは、バッテリ11など回転電機駆動装置100のハードウェア構成によって決まる。従って、リップル周波数“2fc”を共振周波数frpから遠ざけるべく、制御装置8が対応可能な範囲でスイッチング周波数fcを適切に設定することが好ましい。以下、そのようなスイッチング周波数fcの設定方法について説明する。
 図7は、直流リンクキャパシタンスCdがC1[μF]、バッテリインダクタンスLbがL1[μH]、常温におけるバッテリ抵抗RbがR2[Ω]の場合の直流側電圧ゲインのシミュレーション結果を示している。図7に示すように、共振周波数frpにおいて、共振のピークが現れている。この共振周波数frpは下記式(5)により求められる。

 上述したように、システム電圧Vdcには、インバータ10のスイッチング周波数fcの2倍のリップル周波数“2fc”の脈動が出現する。このリップル周波数“2fc”が共振周波数frpに近いと、システム電圧Vdcの脈動が大きくなり、バッテリ電流Ibの脈動も大きくなる。そして、バッテリ電流Ibの脈動によってバッテリ11の耐久性(寿命)を低下させる。図7に示す例において、スイッチング制御信号のスイッチング周波数fcが5[kHz]の場合、リップル周波数“2fc”は、10[kHz]となり、共振周波数frpは約13[kHz]であるから、リップル周波数2fcと共振周波数frpとが近く、脈動は大きくなる。従って、リップル周波数2fcの元となるスイッチング周波数fcを共振周波数frpから遠ざけることが好ましい。
 図7に示す周波数特性において、スイッチング周波数fcを共振周波数frpから遠ざける場合、スイッチング周波数fcを低い側及び高い側の何れに移動させることも可能である。但し、スイッチング周波数fcを低い側に移動させると、インバータ10のスイッチング制御の分解能が低下するため、回転電機MGの回転制御の円滑さも低下する可能性がある。従って、スイッチング周波数fcは、周波数が高くなる方向に調整されると好適である。1つの態様として、直流側電圧ゲインの値が最大となる周波数よりも高い周波数となるように、スイッチング周波数fcが設定されると好適である。図7から明らかなように、直流側電圧ゲインの値が最大となる周波数は共振周波数frpである。共振周波数frpよりも高い周波数となるように、スイッチング周波数fcが設定されると、スイッチング周波数fcの2倍の周波数は、共振周波数frpに対して高い周波数となる方向に調整される。即ち、この場合には、スイッチング周波数fcの下限周波数fminは、共振周波数frpとなる。
 また、1つの態様として、周波数が“0”の際のゲインと同じ値となる周波数(f2)を、スイッチング周波数fcの下限周波数fminとしても好適である。図7等から明らかなように、直流側電圧ゲインの値は、周波数がゼロから高くなるに従って増加し、共振周波数frpにおいて最大値(共振点)となり、この共振点を変曲点として周波数が高くなるに従って減少していく。従って、直流側電圧ゲインの値が、周波数をゼロにしたときの値となる周波数以上の高い周波数は、共振周波数frpよりも高い周波数である。スイッチング周波数fcの2倍の周波数(2fc)は、さらに高い周波数となるから、さらに共振周波数frpから遠ざかる。その結果、システム電圧Vdcやバッテリ電流Ibの脈動が大きくなることを有効に抑制することができる。特に、共振周波数frpが低い場合には、スイッチング周波数fcを共振周波数frpの近傍に設定した場合に比べて、共振周波数frpとスイッチング周波数fcの2倍の周波数(2fc)との間をより離間させることができる。尚、上記式(2)から明らかなように、周波数が“0”の際のゲインの値は、バッテリ抵抗Rb(電源内部抵抗Rps)である。また、この場合の下限周波数fminは、下記式(6)によって表される。

 ところで、バッテリ抵抗Rbは、バッテリ11の動作温度(回転電機駆動装置100の動作温度)によって変動する。従って、下限周波数fminも温度によって変動することになる。図8は、動作温度範囲における最高温度(例えば60[℃])と最低温度(例えば-40[℃])の際の直流側電圧ゲインの周波数特性のシミュレーション結果を示している。図8における太線は、動作温度範囲における最高温度での周波数特性を示し、細線は最低温度での周波数特性を示している。本実施形態では、最高温度の際のバッテリ抵抗RbはR1[Ω]、最低温度の際のバッテリ抵抗RbはR3[Ω]であり、R1<R2<R3である。
 上述したように、周波数が“0”の際の直流側電圧ゲインの値は、バッテリ抵抗Rbである。バッテリ抵抗Rbは、動作温度が低いほど大きくなる性質があるため、動作温度範囲内においては、最低温度の際のバッテリ抵抗Rbの値が最も大きくなる。従って、スイッチング周波数fcは、回転電機駆動装置100の動作温度範囲における最低温度でのバッテリ抵抗Rb(電源内部抵抗Rps)の値を用いた直流側電圧ゲインの周波数特性に基づいて設定されると好適である。この場合、スイッチング周波数fcは、少なくとも最低温度での周波数特性に基づく周波数“f3”を下限周波数fminとして設定され、過度に高い周波数となることなく、適切に設定される。当然ながら、確実性を考慮して、スイッチング周波数fcが、最高温度での周波数特性に基づく周波数“f1”を下限周波数fminとして設定されることを妨げるものではない。また、例えば図7に示すように、常温(例えば20~25[℃])における周波数特性に基づく周波数“f2”を下限周波数fminとして設定されることを妨げるものでもない。
 また、スイッチング周波数fcに起因する現象としては、上述したシステム電圧Vdcやバッテリ電流Ibの脈動以外に、可聴域における騒音も知られている。可聴域とは、人の聴覚が感じ取ることができる周波数帯域であり、おおよそ20[Hz]~20[kHz]の範囲が該当する。スイッチング周波数fcが可聴域に含まれる場合には、耳障りな騒音が生じるため、車両の乗員の快適性が損なわれる可能性がある。従って、スイッチング周波数fcは、可聴域には含まれないように調整されると好適である。つまり、可聴域以上の値に予め規定された制限周波数flim(例えば20[kHz])以上の周波数を、スイッチング周波数fcの下限周波数fminとすると好適である。本例では、可聴域の上限周波数である20[kHz]を制限周波数flimとしているが、当然ながら、確実性を考慮して、それよりも高い周波数(例えば25[kHz]など)を制限周波数flimとしてもよい。
 このように、可聴域における騒音の抑制も考慮した場合には、スイッチング周波数fcの下限周波数fminは、直流側電圧ゲインやバッテリ電流ゲインの周波数特性に基づいて決定される周波数と、制限周波数flimとの大小関係に応じて設定される。例えば常温における周波数特性に基づいてスイッチング周波数fcの下限周波数fminを設定する場合において、周波数“f2”が制限周波数flimよりも低い場合(図7を参照)には、制限周波数flimが下限周波数fminに設定される。また、例えば動作温度範囲の最低温度における周波数特性に基づいてスイッチング周波数fcの下限周波数fminを設定する場合(図8を参照)も、同様に、制限周波数flimが下限周波数fminに設定される。一方、例えば動作温度範囲の最高温度における周波数特性に基づいてスイッチング周波数fcの下限周波数fminを設定する場合において、周波数“f1”が制限周波数flimよりも高い場合には、周波数“f1”が下限周波数fminに設定される。
 ところで、回転電機MGのトルクと回転数とを乗じて算出されるパワー(回転電機パワー)が大きくなるに従い、システム電流Idcは大きくなる傾向にある。また、回転電機MGの回転数が高くなるに従って、逆起電力が大きくなり、変調率が大きくなり、電圧指令値の6次高調波成分及びその整数倍の高調波成分が増加する。よって、スイッチング周波数fcに応じて規定されるゲインが同じであっても、回転電機MGのトルク及び回転数が大きくなるに従って、システム電圧Vdcやバッテリ電流Ibの脈動も大きくなる。尚、システム電圧Vdcの脈動幅は、リップル周波数2fcによる基本リップルに、回転電機MGの回転数に応じて生じる高調波成分(特に、6次高調波成分及びその整数倍の高調波成分(6f,12f,18f,・・・);図11等の太い一点鎖線を参照)が重畳された電圧波形における最大値と最小値との差である。システム電圧Vdcの脈動幅が大きくなり、予め規定された電圧リップル許容幅Vp(例えば、40[V];図11等を参照)の範囲内に収まらなくなれば、IGBT3(スイッチング素子)の充分な保護が図れなくなる。
 同様に、バッテリ電流Ibの脈動幅は、リップル周波数2fcによる基本リップルに、回転電機MGの回転数に応じて生じる高調波成分(特に、6次高調波成分及びその整数倍の高調波成分(6f,12f,18f,・・・);図11等の太い一点鎖線を参照)が重畳された電流波形における最大値と最小値との差である。バッテリ電流Ibの脈動幅が大きくなり、予め規定された電流リップル許容幅Ip(例えば、60[A];図11等を参照)の範囲内に収まらなくなれば、バッテリ11の充分な保護が図れなくなる。
 これらの問題に対して、回転電機MGのパワーが大きくなるに従って相対的に大きくなるシステム電圧Vdcやバッテリ電流Ibの脈動幅は、スイッチング周期Tcを短くする(換言すれば、スイッチング周波数fcを高くする)ことによって補償することが可能である。即ち、図7等から明らかなように、共振周波数frpよりも高い周波数域ではスイッチング周波数fcを高くすることでゲインが小さくなるので、システム電流Idcが大きくなっても、システム電圧Vdc等の脈動幅を小さく抑えることができる。そこで、回転電機MGのパワーを規定するトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて、スイッチング周波数fcを異なる値に設定すると好適である。1つの態様として、回転電機MGのパワーが大きくなるに従って、スイッチング周波数fcを高く設定すると好適である。
 図10は、回転電機MGの動作マップを示している。この動作マップでは、回転電機MGのトルク及び回転数に応じた複数の動作領域A1~A4が設定されている。本実施形態では、これら複数の動作領域A1~A4は、回転電機MGのトルクと回転数とを乗じて算出されるパワーに応じた領域とされている。動作領域A1は、絶対値基準で、回転電機MGのパワーが予め規定された第1基準値P1未満の領域である。動作領域A2は、絶対値基準で、回転電機MGのパワーが第1基準値P1以上であり、かつ、第1基準値P1より大きい値に予め規定された第2基準値P2未満の領域である。動作領域A3は、絶対値基準で、回転電機MGのパワーが第2基準値P2以上であり、かつ、第2基準値P2より大きい値に予め規定された第3基準値P3未満の領域である。動作領域A4は、絶対値基準で、回転電機MGのパワーが第3基準値P3以上の領域である。
 そして、本実施形態では、スイッチング周波数fcが、複数の動作領域A1~A4毎に異なる値に設定されている。動作領域A1には周波数fc1が設定され、動作領域A2には周波数fc2(>fc1)が設定され、動作領域A3には周波数fc3(>fc2)が設定され、動作領域A4には周波数fc4(>fc3)が設定されている。すなわち、この例では、複数の動作領域A1~A4毎に、それぞれ一定値であるスイッチング周波数fcが設定され、隣接する動作領域間ではスイッチング周波数fcがステップ的に変化するように設定されている。このように、1つの態様として、回転電機MGのパワーが大きくなるに従って、スイッチング周波数fcをステップ的に高く設定すると好適である。尚、動作領域A1に対応する周波数fc1は、上述した直流側電圧ゲイン、バッテリ電流ゲイン、及び制限周波数flimに基づいて設定されるスイッチング周波数fcの下限周波数fmin以上に設定されている。また、周波数fc1は、後述するスイッチング周波数fcの上限周波数fmax以下に設定されている。周波数fc2~fc4に関しても同様である。
 図11~図13は、回転電機MGのパワーに応じてスイッチング周波数fcを異ならせてシミュレーションした、システム電圧Vdc及びバッテリ電流Ibの波形を示す。定トルクの条件下、図11は回転数が1000[rpm]に対してスイッチング周波数を20[kHz]とした場合を示し、図12は回転数が2000[rpm]に対してスイッチング周波数を30[kHz]とした場合を示し、図13は回転数が3000[rpm]に対してスイッチング周波数を40[kHz]とした場合を示している。これらの結果から明らかなように、回転電機MGのパワーが大きくなるに従ってスイッチング周波数fcを高くすることによって、システム電圧Vdcやバッテリ電流Ibの脈動幅を、それぞれについて規定された許容幅Vp,Ipの範囲内に収めることができている。
 尚、スイッチング周波数fcの上限周波数fmaxも規定されていることが好ましい。スイッチング周波数fcが高くなると、単位時間当たりのスイッチング回数が増加するため、インバータ10におけるスイッチング損失も大きくなる。従って、下限周波数fminだけではなく、上限周波数fmaxについても条件が規定されていると好ましい。1つの態様として、インバータ10のスイッチング損失が予め規定された上限損失以下となるような周波数を、スイッチング周波数fcの上限周波数fmaxとすると好適である。
 ところで、回転電機駆動装置100が搭載される車両を考えた場合、バッテリ11の供給元と、インバータ10のIGBT3の供給元と、制御装置8の供給元とがそれぞれ異なる場合もある。つまり、バッテリ抵抗RbやバッテリインダクタンスLb、IGBT3の耐圧などが車両によって異なるような場合においても、制御装置8が適切なスイッチング周波数fcを設定できることが望ましい。上述したように、本発明によれば、回転電機MGのトルク及び回転数に応じてスイッチング周波数fcを設定することが可能であり、当該技術を幅広く適用することが可能である。
 以上の説明をまとめると、スイッチング周波数fcは、概念的には、以下のような基準を満足するように設定されると好適である。即ち、スイッチング周波数fcは、
(a)スイッチング周波数fcに応じて生じるシステム電圧Vdcの脈動が、インバータ10のIGBT3(スイッチング素子)の保護を図ることができるような範囲に収まること、
(b)スイッチング周波数fcに応じて生じるバッテリ電流Ibの脈動が、バッテリ11の保護を図ることができるような範囲に収まること、
(c)可聴域の騒音が出ないこと、
(d)スイッチング周波数fcに応じたインバータ10のスイッチング損失が大きくなり過ぎないこと、
の全てを満足するように設定されると好適である。
 より具体的には、スイッチング周波数fcの下限周波数fminは、
(a’)スイッチング周波数fcに応じて生じるシステム電圧Vdcの脈動幅が、インバータ10のIGBT3(スイッチング素子)の耐圧に基づいて予め規定される許容幅(電圧リップル許容幅Vp)の範囲内に収まること、
(b’)スイッチング周波数fcに応じて生じるバッテリ電流Ibの脈動幅が、バッテリ11の劣化を抑制できるように予め規定される許容幅(電流リップル許容幅Ip)の範囲内に収まること、
(c’)可聴域以上の値に予め規定された制限周波数flim以上であること、
の全てを満足するように設定されると好適である。
 また、スイッチング周波数fcの上限周波数fmaxは、
(d’)スイッチング周波数fcに応じたインバータ10のスイッチング損失が予め規定された上限損失以下に収まること、
を満足するように設定されると好適である。
 実用的には、上記(a’)~(d’)の全てを満足するような、回転電機MGのパワーと、下限周波数fminから上限周波数fmaxまでの範囲内に設定されるスイッチング周波数fcとの関係をマップ化して備えておく(図10を参照)ことが好ましい。この場合、上記(c’)及び(d’)に関してはある程度定量的に規定することが可能であるから、それらに加え、回転電機MGのパワーに応じて上記(a’)及び(b’)をさらに満足するスイッチング周波数fcを予め求めておくとよい。このようにして設定されるスイッチング周波数fcは、制限周波数flim以上の所定周波数からスタートして、回転電機MGのパワーが大きくなるに従ってステップ的に大きくなるものとされる。
 尚、低容量の平滑コンデンサ40を用いつつ上記(a’)~(c’)を満足させようとすれば、スイッチング周波数fcを高く設定することが必要となるので、回転同期制御モードによる回転電機MGの制御が困難となる。このため、本実施形態では、選択可能な制御モードに回転同期制御モードは含まれていない。尚、回転同期制御モードは、回転電機MGの回転に同期して予め規定された数のパルスを出力する制御モード(例えば、1パルス制御モードや5パルス制御モード等)である。図9に示すように、通常の2相変調モード(DPWM)に対応する動作点領域よりも高回転数側の動作点領域には、パルス変調モードではなく、弱め界磁制御を伴う2相変調モード(DPWM+AFR)が設定されている。
 本発明は、上述したような概念に基づいて設計される回転電機駆動装置に広く適用することが可能である。当業者であれば、上述した具体的な実施形態に基づき、本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない範囲で、適宜改変が可能であることが容易に理解できるであろう。従って、本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない範囲で改変された別の実施形態も当然ながら、本発明に含まれるものである。
 例えば、1つの態様として、上述した回転電機MGのパワーに代えて、変調率Mに応じてスイッチング周波数fcが可変に設定されてもよい(図14を参照)。即ち、スイッチング周波数fcが、制限周波数flim以上の所定周波数からスタートして、変調率Mが大きくなるに従ってステップ的に大きくなるように設定(fc1’<fc2’<fc3’<fc4’)されてもよい。尚、変調率Mは、システム電圧Vdcに対する交流電圧指令値の実効値の比率を表す指標であり、ベクトル制御法における2軸の電圧指令値Vd、Vqを用いて、以下の式(7)によって算出される。

 1つの態様として、例えば図14に示すように、複数の基準値M1~M3(M1<M2<M3)を用いて、変調率Mに応じた動作領域B1~B4を、回転電機MGのトルク及び回転数に対応付けてマップ化することも可能である。変調率Mに応じてスイッチング周波数fcを設定する場合にも、上記(a’)~(d’)を満足させることが考慮されると好適である。
 また、1つの態様として、回転電機MGのパワー又は変調率Mに応じてスイッチング周波数fcを可変に設定するに際して、ステップ的ではなく連続的に変化させてもよい。即ち、スイッチング周波数fcが、制限周波数flim以上の所定周波数からスタートして、回転電機MGのパワー又は変調率Mが大きくなるに従って連続的に大きくなるように設定されてもよい。
 また、1つの態様として、スイッチング周波数fcの下限周波数fminを設定するに際して、上記(c’)を考慮することなく、上記(a’)及び(b’)のみを満足させることが考慮されてもよい。この場合、制御装置8は、システム電圧Vdcの脈動幅とバッテリ電流Ibの脈動幅とに応じ、スイッチング周波数fcを、回転電機MGのトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定する。より詳しくは、制御装置8は、システム電圧Vdcの脈動幅とバッテリ電流Ibの脈動幅とがそれぞれ予め規定された許容幅の範囲内に収まるように、スイッチング周波数fcを、回転電機MGのトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定する。この場合、可聴域における騒音が生じる場合があるが、少なくともインバータ10のIGBT3(スイッチング素子)やバッテリ11の保護を図ることはできる。
 また、上記(c’)を考慮するか否かに拘らず、上記(a’)及び(b’)の内の一方のみが考慮されても良い。すなわち、上記(a’)が考慮される場合には、制御装置8は、システム電圧Vdcの脈動幅に応じ、スイッチング周波数fcを、回転電機MGのトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定する。より詳しくは、制御装置8は、システム電圧Vdcの脈動幅が予め規定された許容幅の範囲内に収まるように、スイッチング周波数fcを、回転電機MGのトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定する。この場合、少なくともインバータ10のIGBT3(スイッチング素子)の保護を図ることができる。また、上記(b’)が考慮される場合には、制御装置8は、バッテリ電流Ibの脈動幅に応じ、スイッチング周波数fcを、回転電機MGのトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定する。より詳しくは、制御装置8は、バッテリ電流Ibの脈動幅が予め規定された許容幅の範囲内に収まるように、スイッチング周波数fcを、回転電機MGのトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定する。この場合、少なくともバッテリ11の保護を図ることができる。
 また、上記の実施形態では、スイッチング素子としてIGBT3を用いる場合を例として説明したが、本発明の構成は、スイッチング素子としてSiC-MOSFETやSiC-SITなどのSiCデバイスを用いる場合にも非常に適している。すなわち、これらのSiCデバイスは、Siデバイスに比べて、スイッチング損失が少なく、高温でも安定的に動作可能であるため、比較的高いスイッチング周波数としても損失を抑えて安定的にどうさせることができるという特性を備えている。そのため、本発明の構成は、このようなSiCデバイスをスイッチング素子として用い、スイッチング周波数として幅広い周波数域を利用する場合に特に好適である。
 本発明は、交流の回転電機を駆動制御する回転電機駆動装置に利用することができる。

Claims (10)

  1.  交流の回転電機を駆動制御する回転電機駆動装置であって、
     直流電源と前記回転電機との間に電気的に介在されて、直流と交流との間で電力を変換するインバータと、
     前記直流電源と前記インバータとの間に電気的に介在され、前記インバータの直流側の正極と負極との間に接続される平滑コンデンサと、
     前記インバータのスイッチング素子を、予め規定されたスイッチング周波数に従ってスイッチング制御するインバータ制御部と、を備え、
     前記インバータ制御部は、前記インバータの直流側の電圧であるシステム電圧の脈動幅と前記直流電源を流れる電流である電源電流の脈動幅とに応じ、前記スイッチング周波数を、前記回転電機のトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定する回転電機駆動装置。
  2.  前記インバータ制御部は、前記インバータの直流側の電圧であるシステム電圧の脈動幅と前記直流電源を流れる電流である電源電流の脈動幅とがそれぞれ予め規定された許容幅の範囲内に収まるように、前記スイッチング周波数を、前記回転電機のトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定する請求項1に記載の回転電機駆動装置。
  3.  交流の回転電機を駆動制御する回転電機駆動装置であって、
     直流電源と前記回転電機との間に電気的に介在されて、直流と交流との間で電力を変換するインバータと、
     前記直流電源と前記インバータとの間に電気的に介在され、前記インバータの直流側の正極と負極との間に接続される平滑コンデンサと、
     前記インバータのスイッチング素子を、予め規定されたスイッチング周波数に従ってスイッチング制御するインバータ制御部と、を備え、
     前記インバータ制御部は、前記インバータの直流側の電圧であるシステム電圧の脈動幅に応じ、前記スイッチング周波数を、前記回転電機のトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定する回転電機駆動装置。
  4.  前記インバータ制御部は、前記インバータの直流側の電圧であるシステム電圧の脈動幅が予め規定された許容幅の範囲内に収まるように、前記スイッチング周波数を、前記回転電機のトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定する請求項3に記載の回転電機駆動装置。
  5.  交流の回転電機を駆動制御する回転電機駆動装置であって、
     直流電源と前記回転電機との間に電気的に介在されて、直流と交流との間で電力を変換するインバータと、
     前記直流電源と前記インバータとの間に電気的に介在され、前記インバータの直流側の正極と負極との間に接続される平滑コンデンサと、
     前記インバータのスイッチング素子を、予め規定されたスイッチング周波数に従ってスイッチング制御するインバータ制御部と、を備え、
     前記インバータ制御部は、前記直流電源を流れる電流である電源電流の脈動幅に応じ、前記スイッチング周波数を、前記回転電機のトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定する回転電機駆動装置。
  6.  前記インバータ制御部は、前記直流電源を流れる電流である電源電流の脈動幅が予め規定された許容幅の範囲内に収まるように、前記スイッチング周波数を、前記回転電機のトルク及び回転数の双方に応じて異なる値に設定する請求項5に記載の回転電機駆動装置。
  7.  前記インバータ制御部は、前記回転電機のトルクと回転数とを乗じて算出される回転電機パワー、又は前記インバータの直流側の電圧であるシステム電圧に対する交流電圧指令値の実効値の比率を表す変調率が大きくなるに従って、前記スイッチング周波数を高く設定する請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の回転電機駆動装置。
  8.  前記インバータ制御部は、可聴域以上の値に予め規定された制限周波数以上の周波数となるように、かつ、前記インバータの直流側の電圧であるシステム電圧を前記インバータの直流側の電流であるシステム電流で除した直流側電圧ゲインの周波数特性において、前記直流側電圧ゲインの値が最大となる周波数よりも高い周波数となるように、前記スイッチング周波数を設定する請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の回転電機駆動装置。
  9.  前記インバータ制御部は、前記制限周波数以上の周波数となるように、かつ、前記直流側電圧ゲインの周波数特性において、前記直流側電圧ゲインの値が周波数をゼロとしたときの値と同じとなる周波数以上の周波数となるように、前記スイッチング周波数を設定する請求項8に記載の回転電機駆動装置。
  10.  前記回転電機のトルクと回転数とを乗じて算出されるパワーに応じて複数の動作領域が設定され、
     前記インバータ制御部は、前記スイッチング周波数を前記動作領域毎に異なる値に設定する請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載の回転電機駆動装置。
